Bezirk zu einer Live-Lesung eingeladen - wundervoll war's & heiß! Danke an die Organisator*in Ulli und ihr Team, die uns nun schon zum 4. Mal nach Ottakring eingeladen und großzügig beschenkt haben! ♥️ * Jenny W. (27) ist mit ihrer Jugendliebe Leander verheiratet und die beiden haben zwei Kinder. Jenny ist in einem eher strengen Elternhaus groß geworden und hat früh gelernt, sich an Regeln zu halten. Leanders Eltern Leon und Cora sind das komplette Gegenteil. Sie lebten jahrelang in Kommunen und erzogen ihren Sohn frei von Zwängen und Pflichten. Jetzt leben sie in einer kunterbunten Villa, bauen Gemüse und Gras an und engagieren sich politisch.  Leander ist unfähig einem geregelten Job nachzugehen und geht auch unangenehmen Aufgaben im Haushalt aus dem Weg. Jenny muss also allein für die Familie sorgen. Als sich Leon und Cora auch noch in die Erziehung und Ernährung der Kinder einmischen, ist das Maß voll. "I always thought she would walk through the door."In late December 1976, a camper was spending time down in the Florida Keys. He was camping in an area known as the rock pit alongside US Route 1 on Grassy Key, a limestone quarry site used by campers and party-goers alike. While there, though, he was approached by a man he later described as a "hippie-type," who offered to show him a decomposing human body for a quarter. The camper declined and called the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.On December 30th, Detective Richard Roth was dispatched to investigate. Following the camper's directions, he makes his way into the heavily wooded area near the rock pit. There were a variety of issues raised during the Monday, July 6, public comment period of the Albany Common Council. A major focus was support for a resolution in favor of having Governor Hochul sign the legislation for a one-year moratorium on new data centers in the state, which the council approved. Speakers also urged the council to either adopt a local moratorium on data centers or outright reject the proposed data center at Kenwood Commons. That issue is not yet before the council. Several speakers also spoke in favor of the proposal for Ranked Choice Voting. However, the Council failed to take any action on this issue, which makes it unlikely that it would be approved in time for a public vote in the November election. One concern is the legality of ending primaries, which is included in the proposal. The end of primaries has generated opposition from the Democrats and Working Families Parties. Others spoke in opposition to the continued presence of Flock Cameras in the city to read license plates, which has generated concerns both about mass surveillance and its potential abuse by ICE. Several residents urged the Council to support the efforts by residents of the apartment buildings on Willett Avenue adjoining Washington Park – the so-called Hippie Hotel, to form a tenant's union and improve building conditions. We hear from Bryan Paz-Hernandez of Indivisible, Alexandra Armanino, Madeline Reilly, and Andrew M Co-Chair of the Capital District DSA. By Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.

(And wrote MUCH better poetry) We chart the rise of the Hippies from San Francisco students to a national movement revolving around cheap weed and free love. From Golden Gate to Central Park we talk about the Human Be-Ins and hit the road with a pair of average Hippies during the Summer of Love. (He just made them up!)
