Mark 10:13-22 Mark records for us that one essential and basic aspect of following Jesus is receive the Kingdom of God like a child. We discover that humility, trust, and obedience are hallmarks of such a faith. It is the kind of faith that Jesus challenges the Rich Young Ruler to have – to no longer rely on himself, but to trust and obey and follow the Prince of Heaven. As you listen, imagine how you may adjust your life to have a childlike faith in Jesus. And then with unabandon, follow him.
In the church, talk about love alot, but usually as some quality that we identify and ascribe to being. And we view it most as feeling we that sometimes manifest in our attitudes. But love is action first. When we act in love from out of our God-given capacity to love and by the presence of Christ's life in us, then our hearts become the seedbed of passion to live for others and to love others as Christ lives for and loves us.
More seasoned Christians have a grave responsibility for the less seasoned Christians and the un-churched. Whenever we neglect to minister and love those who are less, then we have sinned against God. Let’s discover ways we can love and serve people better.
Mark 9:30-41 Is your life one that is self-focused, or Jesus focused? SO often we get so wrapped up in our own needs that we forget that if we stay focused on Jesus, he will meet our needs by under his terms, not ours. Being Jesus-focused is being a servant to him, we greet people with his love; we offer our lives to others in Jesus’ name. WE hope today’s message inspires you put yourself last, others first, but Jesus as King.
What does it mean to deny self and take up your cross? It means understanding the Glory of Christ and you own lack of it. As believers, our lives are meant for him and the measure of life is found only in him. To fail in recognizing either, frustrates and complicates our walk with him.
