    Ivy Insights

The Terra Firma podcast is an absolute gem that provides listeners with a calming and immersive experience in the beauty of nature. As a nature lover myself, I have found immense joy and relaxation in listening to this podcast. Many of the episodes have become like old friends to me, and I find myself returning to them repeatedly. The creators of this podcast deserve a heartfelt thank you for crafting these short gems that bring so much joy and peace into my life.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the way it combines nature sounds with beautiful storytelling. Each episode transports listeners to different landscapes, whether it be the forests of Canada or the mountains of Idaho. The clips of nature sounds are expertly incorporated into the narrative, creating a truly immersive experience that makes you feel like you are right there in the midst of it all. The stories conveyed in each episode are also captivating and thought-provoking, reminding us of just how grand Mother Nature is and how important it is that we listen to her on multiple levels.

However, if there was one downside to this podcast, it would be that some episodes are too short. There have been moments where I am fully engrossed in an essay or story, only for it to wrap up all too soon. It leaves me longing for more and wishing that the episodes were longer so I could spend even more time immersed in these beautiful narratives. Nevertheless, this minor drawback does not take away from the overall enjoyment I get from listening to this podcast.

In conclusion, The Terra Firma podcast is an inspiring and beautiful creation that reminds us of just how big and magnificent our world is. It serves as a much-needed reminder for us to appreciate and listen to Mother Nature's wisdom. The combination of poetic essays, natural sounds, careful observation, and powerful insights make this podcast a true masterpiece. If you're someone who finds solace in nature or simply wants to experience its beauty from afar, I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen. It will transport you to tranquil landscapes and provide you with a few precious moments of peace and serenity in our busy, hectic world.

Terra Firma is a new podcast that combines writing about nature with the sounds of the outdoors. It's hosted by CMarie Fuhrman — a writer, a poet, an educator, an indigenous woman. Each episode pairs CMarie's writing with recordings by Jacob Job. He's a conservationist, an educator, a man very concerned with protecting wild places and with sound. The sounds in Terra Firma come from places like Buena Vista, Colorado, and a snowy field in late December. Or to Bluff, Utah at the top of Comb Ridge. Or the Payette River in Idaho. It's a podcast for those who cannot leave their home, or don't have the time or access to these places. Take a walk up a mountain, or sit with me beside a river or be CMarie's companion in these wild places. Terra Firma from Colorado Public Radio arrives on January 25th. Find it on your favorite podcast app. And don't miss an episode.
