-California has passed three new bills designed to boost privacy for internet users, governor Gavin Newsom's office announced. The biggest one, AB 566, builds on a 2018 law by requiring web browsers to let users universally opt-out of allowing third parties to sell their data. -Apple has removed Eyes Up, an app that collects and archives videos of Immigration Customs and Enforcement arrests, 404 Media reports. The app's removal follows similar action taken against ICEBlock last week, an app that tracks ICE activity in an attempt to offer real-time alerts of when and where arrests are happening. Unlike ICEBlock, though, Eyes Up's main purpose is to serve as an archive, not a tool for eluding government agents. -Verizon is buying the smaller broadband carrier Starry for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is expected to close by the first quarter of 2026, but is subject to FCC approval. In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana, Chika, and Ravengriim discuss episodes one through three of Nina the Starry Bride! In episode four, Nina and Azure's feelings for one another deepen. In order to protect him, Nina decides to leave for Galgada to fulfill her duty and become their queen.  In episode five, Nina arrives in Bastia and tries to win over the cruel Prince Set. Things escalate as Nina defends Anne, who works for Prince Set, for “stealing” when an aggressive guard captain accuses her, and Prince Set slices Nina across the chest. Despite the dreariness of her circumstances, Nina chooses to smile and steel her resolve. In episode six, Nina wins over the staff in Bastia by putting the aggressive guard captain in his place while Prince Set is absent. The prince unexpectedly kisses Nina despite being hostile towards her thus far. He also serves as President of the International Society of Political Psychology. His research focuses in particular on the nature of ideology and belief systems, the psychological foundations of political preferences, and intergroup attitudes. He is co-author of Open Versus Closed: Personality, Identity, and the Politics of Redistribution, and a co-editor of the volumes At the Forefront of Political Psychology: Essays in Honor of John L. Sullivan, and The Political Psychology of Democratic Citizenship. In this episode, we start by talking about the foundations of political preferences, and liberal and conservative attitudes. We discuss an elite-driven view of ideological belief systems. We talk about the phenomenon of collective narcissism, and how it relates to in-group satisfaction, nationalism, and perceptions that the 2020 election in the US was illegitimate. We also talk about collective self-esteem, ideological uncertainty, and the link between religiosity and political ideology.
