Splatoon 2's meta can be rough to one trick player, but Obito is one of the players that has risen above the need to remove the weapon from his arsenal. He's able to realize when it's time to use something different while playing the weapon that he has fun with and feels he excels with!
This week on the negus corner we talk about being a leader in competitive splatoon with kyo and prodigy. Also, we hit on the latest direct with the salmon run trailer.
This week on The Negus Corner we hit on players' thoughts on the splatoon comp scene, old players dominating the scene after breaks, K52 feels like splatoon 1, and how players feel about X rank.
Do you need to be X rank to play competitively? No! Anyone can play competitively in splatoon 2, you just need a team of people to play with around the same level or close too. Women's only competition isn't uncommon but for some reason, the Esports scene seems to have an issue with it. When it comes to Esport Tournaments they are dominated by men and it hasn't been easy for women to be comfortable in these spaces. Yes, splatoon has done an amazing job of being inclusive, but it would help to highlight those that are seen in gaming as being good at games by weirdos.
First, let me start by saying I love Splatoon and I love the competitive splatoon scene. I've had the opportunity to be both a competitive player and a tournament organizer. Recently someone made the statement that banning players is the reason why the competitive scene is on the decline, which isn't the case. Sadly, the reason we've seen a decline is that we've watched prominent organizers walk away from the scene. Two of the biggest organizations have stepped away from the scene leading to fewer events.
It's always a great time when you get to speak with people about their experience at Riptide. This time we have Chara, Jwanaldee, Cyren! Glad that they enjoyed their time that weekend as a player, commentator, and in-person viewer. Hope you enjoy it!

Got to sit down with the winners of Riptide's Splatoon 2 event and talk about the tournament and their experience at the Kalahari. Starburst is one of the best teams in the scene with some very notable names. Winning a LAN always seems to add an extra element to a team!
DUDE is one of the biggest splatoon 2 competitive content creators with a variety of memes, dubs, and knowledgeable content about the game. DUDE is one of the best in the business when it comes to showing people how good he is at shredding splatoon 2 lobbies. Maybe his story could help you build your own Splatoon content!

SHOW LESSSo E3 weekend is over and Nintendo easily had the best portion of the weekend. The only thing that was missing was a splatoon 3 trailer, but sadly we have to wait for that. Nintendo's direct on Tuesday was a well-put-together event. We all thought that it was a good showing for Nintendo and they gave a lot of games for the future! Kiver is one of the best players in splatoon's history. Not just in splatoon 2, but also Splatoon 1. He has had some of the longest longevity in this game and being at the top is a normal thing for him at this point. So who better to ask about the mindset of a winner? From making it to Splatoon worlds, Facing high-level Jp teams, and having one of the longest lan win streaks. He understands what it means to win at the highest level.
