We are proud to present the History of Golf in 50 Tournaments Part 1, with our special guest Tony Dear. Tony brilliantly takes on the task of explaining the history of the game of golf by telling us the history of 50 golf tournaments that helped define it. I have always argued that golf's majors are what marks the passing of time, but Tony helps redefine my argument and I pick an argument with Tony right off the bat in this podcast:) I think you will really enjoy this podcast - but I know you will love the book with the same title - so go buy it!

0:00 - It's gonna be a long summer, man. The Nuggets left a bad taste in our mouths. The Avs left an even worse one. And now, Brett's asking Moser stupid questions. Strap in, everyone. It's gonna get weird until Broncos training camp. After that, not to go all Seinfeld, but WHAT'S the DEAL with all these international tournaments in hockey and basketball? There was just a hockey tournament. Now there's a basketball one? Jamal Murray isn't playing for Canada, but Jokic IS playing for Serbia?16:00 - AJ Brown spoke to the media yesterday for the first time as a New England Patriot, and he was a little overzealous. How do you feel about someone playing for a team, while actively being a fan of a different team?36:22 - Brett got a song completely stuck in Moser's head. And it happens to be a song that Moser hates with the burning passions of 1000 suns. As I said earlier...it's gonna be long summer.

Episode 188 is headlined by the incredible conclusion to the El Grande Americano saga at AAA Noche de los Grandes as Ludwig Kaiser and Chad Gable delivered a mask vs. mask match that has quickly become a Feud of the Year and Match of the Year contender. We discuss how the story evolved from a comedy gimmick into one of wrestling's most emotionally resonant rivalries and why WWE is now airing the match on Netflix. We also break down the full fallout from WWE Clash in Italy. Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther amid controversy, Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat, Rhea Ripley survived Jade Cargill thanks in part to Charlotte Flair's involvement, Sol Ruca captured the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship from Becky Lynch, and Brock Lesnar's dominant win over Oba Femi sparked major debate about WWE's long-term plans for one of its brightest young stars. The 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournaments are officially underway, and we discuss why Oba Femi and IYO SKY have quickly emerged as early favorites. We break down the brackets, SummerSlam implications, and whether WWE is positioning its next generation of main event talent through this year's tournaments. On the AEW side, we analyze the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semifinals featuring Swerve Strickland, Brody King, Will Ospreay, and Mark Davis. We also discuss AEW bringing ROH's historic Survival of the Fittest match to Dynamite to crown a new TBS Champion following Willow Nightingale's injury. Plus, Mistico's return to CMLL after a knee injury, MLW's new VEEPS partnership and move into quarterly pay-per-view events, the bizarre story of WWE nearly reviving the nWo during the pandemic, and previews of Raw, NXT, Dynamite, Collision, SmackDown, TNA Impact, AAA Noches de Grandes Part 2, NJPW/CMLL Fantasticamania, NWA Powerrr, and the entire week ahead across professional wrestling. The Dedeaux Download Podcast returns with Shotgun Spratling and podcast co-host Kasey Kazliner breaking down the news that USC baseball is back in the NCAA tournament for the second straight year after the Trojans were selected as an at-large team in the College Station Regional in Texas. USC head coach Andy Stankiewicz joins the show to talk about the Trojans making it to back-to-back regionals for the first time since 2001-2002, his reaction to not being a regional host despite a No. 9 RPI as well as what the Trojans have to do better to take the next step and make it to a super regional after being in a regional final last year. Stankiewicz also discusses how the Trojan coaching staff will try to use its Texas connections to prepare scouting reports and mentions the possibility of potentially 'pitching off' and saving Big Ten Pitcher of the Year Mason Edwards for a potential 1-0 matchup with host Texas A&M. After a break, Shotgun and Kasey discuss the progression of the USC program making back-to-back regionals after only one in the previous two decades and take a look back at the action from the Big Ten Tournament where the Trojans went 1-1, losing a heartbreaking walk-off to rival UCLA in the tournament semifinals. They note three positives, including Augie Lopez's potential re-emergence and showing they are capable of beating the best teams in the nation. They also look at USC's struggles leaving men on base and some defensive struggles. The podcasting duo close out the show previewing each of the teams that will also be in the College Station Regional alongside USC with host Texas A&M, No. 3-seed Texas State and four-seed Lamar, breaking down the potential starting pitchers the Trojans could face in the first two matchups. Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts! Scott shares what he's focusing on as he gets ready for tournament golf, including 20- to 40-foot speed control, basic chip-shot practice, and avoiding the mistakes that lead to big numbers. We also get into a debate on block versus random practice, why so many golfers struggle to take their range game to the course, and how a better pre-shot routine can improve commitment. This episode is all about practicing with more intention and turning your existing game into lower scores. SUMMARY In this episode, Andrew Adams and Chris Jones discuss Chris's journey in martial arts, starting from his childhood fascination with martial arts films in the 1980s to his current role as a coach and instructor. They explore the impact of the 1980s on martial arts culture, Chris's experiences in Taekwondo, and his love for kicking and martial arts tricking. The conversation also touches on the challenges of tournaments, the joy of teaching, and the evolution of a martial artist. In this conversation, Andrew Adams and Chris Jones explore the philosophy of martial arts instruction, emphasizing the importance of elevating students beyond their instructors. They discuss the competitive spirit inherent in martial arts, the influence of fear in training, and the drive to be the best version of oneself. The conversation also touches on the unique aspect of breaking in martial arts, the journey of starting a podcast, and the challenges faced in podcasting. Chris shares his personal experiences and offers motivational advice to listeners, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and ambitions. TAKEAWAYS Chris's martial arts journey began in the 1980s, influenced by films like The Karate Kid. He initially watched martial arts classes before joining in at age eight. Training in the 1980s was very different, with less focus on safety. Chris took a break from martial arts during his teens but returned after realizing he missed it. He found a passion for kicking and martial arts tricking, which continues to this day. Tournaments were not enjoyable for Chris, but he found a love for forms competition. Chris's coaching journey began unexpectedly after he accidentally injured his instructor. He has been coaching full-time since 1999 and has not looked back since. Training with former students who have surpassed him is rewarding for Chris. Every instructor's goal should be for their students to get better than them. It's important to strive to be the best version of oneself. Breaking is a unique and fun aspect of martial arts training. Starting a podcast can be a rewarding yet challenging endeavor. Navigating the podcasting world requires perseverance and adaptability. It's okay to take breaks for mental health and self-care. Pursuing dreams and ambitions is vital; don't let others discourage you. Join our EXCLUSIVE newsletter to get notified of each episode as it comes out! Subscribe — whistlekick Martial Arts Radio

Jeff was out this episode – he was down south in Ft. Pierce, fishing in a kayak tournament. Probably better for him, because the fishing on the First Coast has been TOUGH! Capt. Kevin, Capt. Kirk and everybody else were talking about it. Kevin and Kirk did have more to talk about, though…this week, they were able to rub elbows with Gov. DeSantis! He was in NEFL to talk snapper and how things are getting so unfairly politicized…and in case you missed it – he’s on our side. Capt. Paul Dozier dropped by to talk Old School Kingfish Tournament – but, as usual, talked about all kinds of stuff and shared all kinds of stories, too. Lots of fun and most definitely worth the listen! Alliance Tournaments V3 are here, and the community has questions. A lot of questions. In this episode of Talking Trek, DJz, Matters, Putz, Jules Verne, and the live audience dig into the new Alliance Tournament structure, task segmentation, reroll strategy, 10k and 20k task value, legendary currency, and the updated store. Is this an economy reset? A necessary rebalance? A cold-turkey clawback? Or all of the above wrapped in a spreadsheet burrito with mild emotional damage? Jules brings the data hammer as we look at free-to-play options, long-shot tasks, ops-based segmentation, invisible task slots, and how alliances should communicate before rerolling valuable tasks away. We also discuss the legendary store, whether the new currency payouts help, when 20k tasks might actually make sense, and which store items may be worth prioritizing. Plus: Stupid News, community frustration, high-level player sentiment, Cam Cam's birthday, and a reminder that even when the game feels rough, Talking Trek is still here to teach, laugh, analyze, and occasionally poke the burning console with a stick. 01:02 - Welcome, server sound off, and setting up the night's chaos 05:21 - Stupid News returns with chips, Samsung, Avatar lawsuits, dogs, and McDonald's soda crimes 12:24 - Alliance Tournament task segmentation enters the chat 17:02 - Scopely's “institutional memory” problem and the Incursions comparison 24:02 - High-level players quitting and the emotional state of the community 33:07 - Is this a cash grab, an economy reset, or something else entirely? 41:02 - DJ's satirical “you beat the game” letter to the community 49:00 - Why rerolls broke the old Alliance Tournament economy 57:07 - Legendary currency, 20,000-point tasks, and whether any are truly free-to-play 1:03:02 - Jules breaks down known 10k free-to-play tasks and long-shot options 1:10:07 - Task pool confusion, weird data, and server-specific tournament oddities 1:17:15 - How Alliance Tournaments could have been rebalanced without feeling like a clawback 1:25:03 - Legendary alliance payout: the good idea buried under rough execution 1:34:50 - Too much taken away, not enough given back 1:40:03 - Legendary currency pricing, direct-buy comparisons, and store psychology 1:48:00 - When a 20k task might make sense for spenders 1:58:24 - Comparing legendary currency to multiphasic value and added-spend incentives 2:04:14 - Reroll strategy, task groups, and why one reroll does not refresh everything 2:12:05 - Legendary store review: reputation, artifacts, tech, primes, and priority pulls 2:35:00 - Cam Cam's birthday, Jules' community challenge, and closing schedule notes

Coach Torrey hosts Episode 419 solo outlining warm-up items, a hitting proverb discussion, a Division I postseason preview, and a coaching “confession.” He notes an NCAA Division I proposal to shift eligibility from five years to play four seasons to a five-year window allowing five seasons. The city of the week is Columbia, South Carolina, and the equipment tip spotlights Fastpitch Prep's Square Cuts training discs designed to help hitters learn what “squaring up” the ball means. A listener question addresses the “blame game,” urging players and parents to take ownership rather than blame umpires, coaches, teammates, or conditions. Torrey contrasts “problem-solver” hitting coaches with teaching hitters to understand and self-correct. He previews conference tournaments, seeding implications, and possible top-eight hosts, and argues coaches do have favorites—typically the hardest-working, most reliable team-first players.Support the show
