This week on The Bream Fishing Project, we're heading back to one of my favorite battlegrounds — the mighty Georges River — for Round 2 of the 2025 Action Fishing Tournaments! The Georges threw plenty of challenges our way, but it also delivered some absolute magic for the anglers who cracked the code. In this episode, I'll walk you through the day's conditions, a few insights from my own session, and then we dive into interviews with the top three anglers who lit it up when it mattered most. Joshua Richards kicks things off with a gritty performance fishing out of a no-frills Hobie Outback — no sounder, no 180 drive, not even a paddle! He shares how simplicity and good decision-making carried him onto the podium. Next up, Jamie Dempsey talks us through his climb to second place, revealing how he tuned his crankbaits to perfection, pulled crucial upgrades from boat hulls, and leaned on a perfectly balanced finesse setup to make it all happen. And finally, Jason Reid caps off the episode with a wild story of landing a monster 45.5cm bream on 4lb leader after a heart-stopping battle around the pontoons — a fish that not only secured him first place but also Big Bream honors for the day. You'll hear about tackle choices, lure selections, tuning tricks, and some crazy moments that made all the difference. If you're chasing your next PB or just love hearing how tournaments are won, you'll love this one! Plus, don't miss the updates on the next Action Fishing Tournament rounds — including Redcliffe and Tuggerah Lakes — and a reminder that The Bream Fishing Project Collective is gearing up for our next live session on Wednesday, 30 April. Jump in now at breamfishingproject.supercast.com to be part of it! Massive thanks to Joshua, Jamie, and Jason for sharing their stories — and congrats again on some seriously impressive fishing. Let's dive into it!
The guys talk about their recent trip up to Bandon Dunes in Oregon, their upcoming tournament series starting in just a few weeks as well as their brand new Player Preferred™ line of apparel. After 2 years in the making it is finally out and we couldn't be more excited about it! Listen now!
A Note from James:So I gave a little talk at the Full Stack Business Builder Conference. Basically, a conference for entrepreneurs, VCs, technologists, aspiring entrepreneurs. It was more of a Q&A, where the moderator, Peter Satton, asked me questions, but also took questions from the audience.A big concern for many people was, what if I have no qualifications at what I'm interested in doing? And I have to admit, I've probably never been qualified for anything I've ever done. I described how that's actually helped me achieve certain goals and ambitions of mine, even though I had no qualifications.I also talk about the importance of obsession—let's call it rational obsession—and how to find those things you're passionate about. Among other things, I shared a quasi-religious belief I hold dear and attribute much of my success to.I hope you have as much fun listening to this as I did talking about it. Definitely, there are some new and interesting stories, as well as experiences I wanted to share. Here it is.Episode Description:In this fireside chat recorded at the Full Stack Business Builder Conference, James Altucher addresses a fundamental concern for entrepreneurs: succeeding without traditional qualifications. James candidly explores his journey through immense financial losses and recoveries, emphasizing the critical role optimism and creativity have played. He shares practical insights into leveraging idea generation as a way out of depression and stagnation. James illustrates how choosing oneself, rather than waiting for validation, opens unprecedented opportunities. From starting businesses with no experience, to unexpected pivots that lead to multimillion-dollar successes, James underscores the power of actionable optimism and consistent discipline. What You'll Learn:How rational optimism and creativity are key tools to overcome financial and emotional setbacks. The discipline of daily idea generation as a foundational practice for entrepreneurial success. The practical meaning of "choosing yourself" in a digital age where traditional gatekeepers are irrelevant.Strategies to effectively network by being useful, rather than asking for favors.Deciding when to persevere or pivot in business, guided by passion and market response.Timestamped Chapters:[00:00] Introduction to the Talk[01:48] Starting the Fireside Chat[02:36] Recovering from Financial Losses[05:24] The Power of Ideas[12:30] Choosing Yourself in the Modern World[19:13] Networking and Building Relationships[29:34] Maintaining Internal Integrity[32:46] The Importance of Sleep in Tournaments[33:26] Mental and Emotional Preparation[33:59] The Role of Luck and Probability[35:10] Networking and Socializing Strategies[35:49] Overcoming Introversion[36:39] Standup Comedy Journey[39:28] Starting a Business with Northwest Registered Agent[41:06] Passion for Standup Comedy[45:29] Building Meaningful Business Connections[49:58] Deciding When to Persevere or Pivot[58:03] Is College a Scam?[62:44] Conclusion and Final ThoughtAdditional Resources:Full Stack Business BuilderDan Carlin's Hardcore HistoryGeorge Lois – "Damn Good Advice (For People with Talent!)"See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

For the first time in history, the National Indigenous Cricket Championship finals included live commentary in Hindi and Punjabi. Hindi commentator Sanjiv Dubey shared his reflections on the experience, highlighting the unifying power of sport. He spoke about cricket's role in helping Indigenous communities reconnect with the game, drawing on the legacy of Australia's first all-Indigenous cricket tour to England. Dubey believes that bringing multicultural commentary to the field not only makes the sport more accessible but also deepens cultural connections through a shared passion for cricket.

It's a HUGE culminating week for the NCAA Men's and Women's Tournaments, as the respective Final Fours will take place in San Antonio, TX and Tampa, FL this weekend. And, we're ready to discuss lots about it on the newest "Last Word on Sports Media Podcast."Host T.J. Rives returns with takes on this past weekend's coverage and of course, some updates on the ratings. First what about the "Cooper Flagg Effect" for Duke helping the CBS/Turner audience numbers? And, just how big will the Saturday night semi in San Antonio with Houston be? T.J. has some thoughts. He also discusses the women's ratings and the expected dramatic dropoff from the humungous audience last year for Iowa's Caitlin Clark and her games. It's still a solid product on TV for ESPN/ABC, but there's now confrmation for good that Clark meant 4 and 5 times more audience for her games last year. There's more analysis on this. Then, T.J. talks the start of the MLB season and the coverage on ESPN, the tributes to the late Milwaukee Brewers great broadcaster Bob Uecker and the disastrous first A's game in Sacramento that saw technical problems plague the night for their first game in their temporary home against the Cubs.Next, a fascinating discussion on the announcers in this year's tourneys and leading to the all-time broadcasters to work a men's Final Four and a look ahead to whom are calling the Final Fours this weekend at the two sites. We do this with Phil de Montmolin, who's a great historian of it all and use to co-host the Announcer Schedules Pod with Mike Gill on this feed. T.J. and Phil reminisce on some great Final Four broadcasting nostalgia of their own, too.Catch it all on the "LWOS Media Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple/Spreaker/Spotify, etc.!

“You cannot feel that you're fasting when you're playing. No water, no food, but it's still very exciting to finish and to score" Ramadan is a time for prayer and reflection worldwide. But in Egypt they mark it using one of their nationwide passions: football. Since the 1960s street football tournaments have spread to every town – involving everyone from professional footballers to children and old men. A woman's tournament is in its infancy. Some footballers have even been slapped with heavy fines by their clubs for taking part – but many remain undeterred, as it's such a part of Ramadan tradition and culture. PRESENTER: Alan @Kasujja GUESTS: 70 year old Elsayed Mohamed and his son, football journalist, Mohamed Kutbah, and Hamada Elalfy, one of the organisers of the Mit Rumi tournament.
