Jonathan Pokluda (JP) joins Sadie and Christian for a wide-ranging conversation that goes everywhere—in the best way. They cover Christian's beard (and his tendency to “smack”), dating red flags, church hurt, “superstitious” prayers, awkward preaching moments, and the big question: is it wise to date someone battling a sin addiction like pornography? JP also shares about his involvement in a biblical matchmaking initiative called Qualified Date, where the goal isn't just vibes—it's lifelong marriage. The focus is on faith, community, and trusting God to connect you with someone truly qualified (yes, we're redefining your “type”). Known for breaking down big, complicated ideas with clarity and honesty, JP brings both humor and depth. He also shares a powerful health update after a nightmarish 17-day hospital stay that left him unable to walk. It's honest, hopeful, and the kind of conversation that might just change how you see dating, faith, and the people trying to set you up. What if the stories you inherited about who you're supposed to become—from your family, your industry, your own fears—are the very narratives holding you back? In this powerful episode of the Positive Leadership Podcast, I welcome Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, a visionary media executive who has led transformations at The New Yorker and WIRED, and an extraordinary marathoner who set an American record in the 50K at age 45. But Nick's story isn't just about professional success or athletic achievement. It's about the conscious choice to rewrite the narrative we inherit. Nick grew up watching his brilliant father—a Rhodes Scholar and academic star—whose life eventually “cracked up” due to alcoholism and personal struggles. Around Nick's 40th birthday, his father warned him: “All men's lives fall apart at this age.” That was the script Nick had inherited. A story of inevitable decline. But Nick refused to live that story. In our conversation, we explore:

In this episode of Restoried, we sit down with Jamie Fuller to hear her family's unexpected journey into kinship care. It's a story shaped by loss, faith, and God's redemptive work. What Jamie thought would be a season of empty nesting turned into something she and her husband, JP, never imagined. They welcomed their two nephews after the tragic loss of their parents. Jamie shares honestly about what it's like to suddenly step into trauma-informed parenting while also grieving the life she thought she would have. She talks about the emotional weight, the impact on her whole family, and the loneliness that can come with caring for kids from hard places. One of the most powerful parts of Jamie's story is how finding people who truly understood changed everything. From her first Hope Bridge moms' night to attending Mobilize Ohio, Jamie describes what it meant to finally be in rooms where she didn't have to explain her story. It was a place where she and JP felt seen, supported, and less alone. This episode is a reminder that healing takes time, that joy and grief can exist at the same time, and that community really matters. If you're walking a foster or kinship journey or supporting families who are, this conversation is for you. Mobilize Ohio and Hope Bridge are places where your story can make sense, too. On this episode of The Just Mom Podcast, Ryan Bevins and JP Claxton dive into their organization called Fight Club (https://fightclub-us.com/), a movement created to give teens—especially young men—a safe place to talk about what they're really feeling.Fight Club was born from a simple but urgent realization: kids are struggling, and many don't know how to talk about it. What started as a response to that need has grown into something extraordinary. Ryan and JP share how Fight Club addresses the very real mental and spiritual battles kids face today. Through trust-building, peer-led conversations (with no adults in the room during sharing), these groups go deep—creating space for honesty, vulnerability, and growth.Fight Club is shifting the paradigm for young men, helping them learn how to name and express their emotions—often for the first time. Now with 29 groups and growing, the impact is undeniable. Some members have even taken the initiative to start Fight Club groups on their college campuses, carrying the mission forward.Ryan and JP also open up about their own journeys in learning how to talk about their feelings and share powerful stories that highlight just how life-changing Fight Club has been. Additionally, Fight Club for girls has launched, led by Ryan's wife. Fight Club also has a new partnership with Kids TLC (https://www.kidstlc.org/), an inpatient mental health facility. This partnership brings Fight Club into a preventive care space, supported by two licensed therapists who attend Fight Club meetings. This conversation is hopeful, honest, and deeply needed—for parents, mentors, and anyone who cares about the next generation. In this episode of The Performance Task, we sit down with JP Echeverria, Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Boston Red Sox, for a deep, honest conversation about what it really means to develop athletes. JP reflects on his first 10 years in the profession—finding his coaching identity, staying in his lane, and shifting from “rah-rah coaching” to an athlete-centered, habit-driven approach. We dive into topics like training age, auto-regulation, stress management, in-season lifting, sports science vs. feel, and why availability is the ultimate performance metric. This is a must-listen for coaches navigating the early years of the profession—or anyone who believes development is about more than numbers on a spreadsheet.

This is the complete picture. The pattern. The playbook. And the system that let it happen.Mica Miller was ten years old when she met Pastor John-Paul Miller. According to her own words to police, he groomed her for years before making her his wife. By thirty, she was dead—found at a North Carolina state park with a bullet wound to her head, two days after serving him divorce papers. Ruled a suicide. But the woman who called police fourteen times begging for help had also told her family: "If I end up with a bullet in my head, it was not by me. It was JP."The federal indictment alleges JP cyberstalked Mica for eighteen months: tracking devices on her car, a nude photo posted online without consent, over fifty contacts in a single day, and lies to federal investigators. He has pleaded not guilty.Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott has spent thirty years treating survivors of coercive control. She explains how the pattern in this indictment works—and why every system Mica reached out to failed her. In February 2024, Mica was involuntarily hospitalized for forty-eight hours. When released, her car was gone, her digital accounts locked, and JP had allegedly removed documents she'd been collecting about his abuse. JP told media Mica had "mental health struggles." In a sermon, he told his congregation a mentally ill person "doesn't know they're sick." Scott explains how abusers weaponize mental health narratives to discredit victims. The story extends beyond Mica. JP's first wife alleges he confessed to sexual misconduct with minors. Chris Skinner drowned two weeks after allegedly confronting JP. Two civil lawsuits allege decades of sexual abuse by JP and his father. They deny everything. Mica Miller called police fourteen times in her final months. She told officers she was afraid for her life. She told family members if she ended up with a bullet in her head, it wasn't by her—it was JP. Two days after serving her husband divorce papers, she was dead. Her death was ruled a suicide. Now the federal government has indicted Pastor John-Paul Miller. They allege he cyberstalked her for eighteen months—tracking her car, posting a nude photo of her online, contacting her over fifty times in a single day, and lying to investigators about all of it. He has pleaded not guilty. But this story doesn't start with Mica. It starts with JP's father—a man whose own ex-wife testified he exercised absolute control over his family and congregation. It continues through JP's first marriage, where his ex-wife alleges he confessed to sexual misconduct with underage church members. And it connects to Chris Skinner—a quadriplegic who drowned two weeks after allegedly confronting JP about sleeping with his wife. JP married that widow thirteen months after Mica died.Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, who has spent thirty years treating survivors of coercive control, walks through how coercive controllers weaponize systems against their victims. In February 2024, Mica was involuntarily hospitalized. When she got out, her car was gone, her accounts were locked, and documents she'd collected about his abuse had allegedly been removed. JP told media Mica had "mental health struggles." Scott explains how abusers use these narratives to ensure no one believes their victims. Two civil lawsuits allege JP and his father sexually abused minors for decades. They deny everything. South Carolina still has no standalone coercive control law. Senate Bill 702 keeps stalling.
