True Crime Tuesday presents Her Cold Justice with Researcher/Author, Robert Dugoni! To save a client accused of murder, defense attorney Keera Duggan must fight a complex web of corruption in a riveting novel of suspense by New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni. In a quiet South Seattle neighborhood, a suspected drug smuggler and his girlfriend are murdered in their home. When a young man named Michael Westbrook is accused of the brutal double homicide, his uncle JP Harrison turns to Keera Duggan to defend him. JP is Keera's trusted investigator, and he desperately needs Keera to save his nephew against escalating odds. The evidence is circumstantial—Michael worked with one of the victims, drugs were found in his possession, and he bolted from authorities. Ruthless star prosecutor Anh Tran has gotten convictions on much less. With the testimony of two prison informants, the case looks grave. But Keera never concedes defeat. To free her client, she must dig deep before Tran crushes both of them.As the investigation gets more twisted with each new find, Keera is swept up in a mystery with far-reaching consequences. This case isn't just murder. It's looking like a conspiracy. And getting justice for Michael could be the most dangerous promise Keera has ever made.Bob Dugoni joins TCT today to talk about the book, it's resonating real feel characters, the hard real life family issues between his characters in this book, and the theme and thread that runs through this book of truth... both an individual's truth, the perceived truth, and the actual truth, and how that gets processed by the law! Worum geht's? In this new episode of the Positive Leadership Podcast, I'm delighted to welcome Katarina Berg, a leader who has redefined HR and culture for the digital age. As the long-time CHRO of Spotify and now Chief People Officer at On, Katarina has been at the helm of some of the most intense “hyper-growth” stories in tech history. But her journey started long before boardrooms—growing up sailing the world and being homeschooled on the ocean taught her a vital lesson: You cannot control the waves, you can only adjust your sails. In our conversation, we dive deep into her philosophy of “Controlled Chaos,” a bold approach that challenges the traditional command-and-control models of corporate leadership. Together, we explore a fascinating reality: What happens when you trust your employees enough to let them work from anywhere—not just as a perk, but as a business strategy? Katarina reveals how the “Work From Anywhere” policy at Spotify unlocked talent globally, and how she is now applying similar principles of trust and speed at On. But the real revolution isn't just about policy. It is about connection. We discuss her famous “Walk and Talks”—solving complex business problems on mountain trails rather than in meeting rooms—and how staying close to nature makes us better decision-makers. In this episode, we cover: The Origin Story: How a childhood spent navigating high seas shaped her resilience and adaptability as a leader. The Philosophy: Why “Controlled Chaos” is essential for innovation, and why rigidity is the enemy of growth. The Strategy: How to implement a “Work From Anywhere” culture that actually works (and isn't just hybrid theater). The Method: The power of the “Walk and Talk” to break down barriers and foster deep human connection. The Future: Her advice for the leaders of 2030: “Dare to be bold, lead with your heart, and always lift others as you rise.” Katarina reminds us that Positive Leadership is not about choosing between high performance and human care. It is about realizing that you cannot have one without the other. I hope you'll enjoy this energizing conversation with Katarina Berg.

Robin Dreeke ran the FBI's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program. He's spent his career studying manipulation, deception, and how predators operate. When he looks at the JP Miller case, he sees a textbook pattern of coercive control — and an indictment that only scratches the surface.According to federal charges, Miller tracked his estranged wife Mica with GPS devices, contacted her more than 50 times in a single day, posted intimate photos of her online without consent, and sabotaged her car — then lied to FBI investigators about it. Mica Miller died on April 27, 2024, just 48 hours after serving him divorce papers. But the indictment doesn't capture the years that came before.Sworn affidavits describe isolation, financial manipulation, threats, and constant surveillance. Both name his father as a co-defendant and allege their churches enabled abuse for decades. And then there's Chris Skinner — a quadriplegic Army veteran who drowned in a Myrtle Beach pool on Labor Day 2021. His widow Suzie is now JP Miller's third wife. According to Alison's affidavit, Chris confronted JP about an alleged affair with Suzie just two weeks before he died. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell are celebrating two big moments of accountability for two of the worst men in South Carolina… On Monday, “Pastor” Churchy Business bro John-Paul Miller had to face a federal judge in Florence to plead “not guilty” to a single felony charge of cyberstalking his wife Mica Francis for a year and a half before her death … as well as a single count of lying to federal investigators about the extent of his stalking. The judge set JP's unsecured bond at $100K and ordered him to be tracked via a GPS ankle monitor because he's considered a flight risk. Two days after JP's hearing, Mandy and Liz were keeping tabs on another federal case involving one of South Carolina's worst men, former statehouse representative and admitted pedophile RJ May, who was sentenced to 17 and a half years for distributing child sexual abuse materials. It was a great week for justice.

BMitch and JP go over some of the biggest headlines ahead of Monday's College Football Playoff National Championship.
In this gripping episode, investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell and attorney Eric Bland, confront a week that forces an uncomfortable but urgent question: what happens when power escalates faster than accountability? First, Liz Farrell reports firsthand from the federal arraignment of JP Miller—an appearance marked not just by legal gravity, but by a visible public demand for accountability. What she witnessed was extraordinary: 52 U.S. Marshals on duty, federal prosecutors flooding the jury box, and bombshell revelations that paint JP as both a flight risk and danger to the community. Then through dual lenses of investigative journalism and constitutional law, our hosts unpack a deadly ICE encounter in Minnesota, interrogating how rapidly escalating law enforcement tactics collide with due process, civil rights, and public trust. This is not a partisan conversation. It's a journalistic one. A legal one. And ultimately, a civic one. Because justice doesn't survive on authority alone... it survives with scrutiny and accountability. ☕ Cups Up! ⚖️ Episode References Walk for Peace Facebook Page ☸️
When Todd Carmichael and J.P. Iberti met at a grunge concert in Seattle in the 1980s, they were an unlikely pair. But they shared a love for great coffee, and the two friends began to dream about opening a cafe and premium roastery that would produce coffee at a higher quality than anything in the U.S. at the time. A few years later, Todd and J.P. co-founded La Colombe in Philadelphia, and went on to play a leading role in the third wave of specialty coffee in the U.S. Today, their coffee drinks are sold in stores across the country, and in 2023, La Colombe was acquired by Chobani for $900M.
