As the singer of Rival Sons, Jay Buchanan has one of the most powerful voices in all of music, but on his new solo album, Weapons of Beauty, he dials back the volume in favor of a rootsy, Americana approach. The results are stunning. In a special episode of Rolling Stone's Nashville Now, taped in front of a live audience, Buchanan talks about writing the album off the grid in the Mojave desert, where he slept with a pistol beneath his pillow. He also goes deep on his role in the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, and shares how Springsteen's Nebraska inspired his new chapter. If you don't know Jay Buchanan, you will now. Fr. Isaac pulls no punches in this unflinching interview on the spiritual mechanics of sin and the path to real freedom. With arresting clarity, he exposes what too often goes unnamed: mortal sin is not merely weakness, it is a deliberate act of telling God, "Get out. I don't want You." He warns against treating confession as a revolving door while continuing the same behavior without amendment, and he dismantles the culture of blame that externalizes sin onto the devil, trauma, or society. "Stop blaming the devil for what you're choosing," he insists, calling men especially to accountability, discipline, and decisive action. The message is urgent, pastoral, and uncompromising: God's mercy is real, but it is not sentimental. Grace demands cooperation, and freedom requires the courage to face oneself first.HELP SUPPORT WORK LIKE THIS: https://give.lifesitenews.com/?utm_source=SOCIAL U.S. residents! This week, following an unusual situation that erupted in the skies over El Paso, Texas, last week that placed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on high alert, the U.S. Department of Defense revealed the recent testing of a new counter-drone laser weapon that was reportedly deployed to neutralize a security threat at the U.S. southern border. However, as further reporting has revealed, it seems there was more to this story... and of course, plenty of UAP speculation involving alleged sightings of aerial objects in American airspace. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we look at this alarming incident, what we know, and also its similarities to events in 2023 that resulted in the shoot-downs of several "unidentified aerial objects" over North America. Finally, what can we learn from a deeper look at the history of similar incidents involving alleged UFOs from over the decades? Want to advertise/sponsor The Micah Hanks Program? What wins you battles are not just weapons
In this episode, @Joli.artist confronts the revelations emerging from the Epstein files and calls on listeners to reclaim their power in a world run by forces that depend on our collective silence and inaction.Joli dismantles the narrative that "nothing is going to happen," exposing it as deliberate psychological programming designed to keep people disempowered. She draws on evolutionary biology, the nature of cancer cells, and even goat farming to illustrate why antisocial elements must be removed from any functioning system, and why good people are not the exception but the biological norm. From the Milgram experiments to the French Revolution, Joli traces humanity's long history of exile as a survival mechanism, arguing that what we're witnessing today is no different. She challenges listeners to stop treating passivity as goodness, reject the "turn the other cheek" conditioning, and start putting points on the scoreboard for good, beginning with defending themselves. The episode builds toward a profound exploration of how perception shapes reality, drawing on the placebo and nocebo effects, Robert Anton Wilson's work, and the podcast's core thesis that we are living in a simulation that responds to what we hold in our minds.••Earth Is Presently Sick. We Must Become the Immune System. https://medium.com/@joli.artist/earth-is-presently-sick-we-must-become-the-immune-system-5bde9e0d4ad3 ••Key Insights from this Episode:• The Scoreboard of Good vs Evil: Joli reframes daily life as a simulation where every act of courage or cowardice tips the scales, and doing nothing when you witness harm is a point scored for evil.• Be Good With Teeth: Drawing from her own experience, Joli argues that kindness without boundaries enables abuse to spread, and that true goodness requires the willingness to fight back.• Cancer Cell Theory of Evil: Pedophiles, predators, and narcissists are not just bad people; they are cancerous cells in the human organism that must be identified and removed for the body to survive.• The Mind as Weapon and Shield: From placebo effects to collective meditation reducing crime rates, Joli makes the case that your mind is the most powerful tool you have, and that it is actively being weaponized against you.• Bloom in Hell: In a world designed to exhaust and demoralize, your existence and your actions matter right now, not in a thousand years. Be beautiful in spite of the dystopia, because that beauty is what inspires others to wake up.
5. Guest: Hampton Sides. At Moorea, a stolen goat triggers a terrifying rage in Cook, who burns houses and canoes in retribution, shocking his officers. Sides reveals that after being left behind, Mai used British weapons in local conflicts but died young of disease. Cook's scorched-earth reaction highlights his deteriorating patience and mental state.
Ever felt like this? You planned something special and everyone bailed—leaving you wondering if something's wrong with you? That crushing feeling of rejection can spiral fast. In this episode, we're diving into a total mental revolution—learning how to renew our minds to Christ and break free from the lies the enemy has been feeding us. Coach Jamie shares a raw, personal story about a Bible study that got canceled twice in a row, and how the enemy tried to use it to make her believe she wasn't liked or valued. But here's the truth: those thoughts of "not enough" and comparison? They're not from God, and you don't have to be a prisoner to them anymore. We're unpacking the difference between depression and spiritual oppression, hearing Rick Renner's powerful testimony of overcoming lies about his identity, and learning how to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6) to fight back. This isn't just about positive thinking—it's about wielding Scripture like a sword and taking every thought captive. You were made to be a daughter of the Most High King, and it's time to start believing it.

Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. When most people think about murder, they imagine firearms or knives. Rarely do they consider fire itself as the weapon. Yet according to retired law enforcement veteran Charles “Chuck” Sherman, fire is one of the most brutal and psychologically devastating methods of killing, not only for victims, but for every Cop forced to witness its aftermath. The Podcast is available and shared for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and most major podcast platforms. Drawing from decades of Retired California Police Experience, Sherman now shares his story publicly through a Podcast and across platforms like their Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify, Medium and other social media platforms. He is hoping to spark conversations about officer Trauma, training gaps, and a form of violence many people, including police are unprepared to face. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. “People don't realize fire can be used as a weapon just like a gun,” Sherman said. “And when you see it firsthand, it changes you.” Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Understanding Fire As A Weapon for Murder Arson is legally defined as the willful and deliberate act of setting fire to or charring property. While commonly associated with buildings, arson can also involve vehicles, boats, forests, or other property. The crime is typically charged as a felony, with harsher penalties when human life is endangered. Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. In some cases, arson is committed for insurance fraud or to conceal crimes such as burglary or homicide. When a death occurs, prosecutors may pursue manslaughter or murder charges. But Sherman emphasizes that arson statistics only tell part of the story. “Quite often people die in building fires,” he explained. “But there are also cases where someone is intentionally set on fire. That's homicide and it happens more than people think.” Each year in the United States, deaths involving fire include accidents, suicides involving self-immolation, and murders where fire becomes the primary weapon. A Veteran Officer Caught Off Guard At the time of the incident that would leave a lasting mark on his career, Sherman was a recently promoted Police Sergeant with years of experience behind him. He had already handled violent crimes, major investigations, and countless critical incidents. Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. Look for The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Nothing prepared him for this call. While on duty, Sherman was alerted by a citizen to a violent crime unfolding nearby. Arriving on scene, he discovered a man who had been doused with a flammable liquid and intentionally set on fire. “I caught the call on view after someone flagged me down,” Sherman recalled. “Within seconds I realized this was something completely different from anything I'd handled before.” Despite decades of training, Sherman says the moment exposed a serious gap in law enforcement preparation. “We train for weapons, tactics, and survival,” he said. “But almost nobody trains you for the emotional impact of seeing someone burned alive.” A Career of Service and an Unexpected Reality Sherman's law enforcement career spanned approximately thirty years. He began as a Detention Officer with the Kern County Sheriff's Department, serving about a decade before joining the Bakersfield Police Department as a full-time officer. During his seventeen years with Bakersfield Police, he worked as a detective, field training officer, and academy coordinator before promoting to Sergeant. Later, he continued public service as an investigator with the Kern County District Attorney's Office until 2022. Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. By every professional measure, Sherman was seasoned and experienced. Yet he says nothing in his background prepared him for what he encountered that day. “You think experience prepares you for everything,” he said. “It doesn't.” The Hidden Trauma Police Carry Deaths involving fire are far more common than many Americans realize. Police officers regularly encounter fatal fires, whether accidental, suicidal, or criminal, yet many departments provide limited training on handling the psychological aftermath. It is discussed across News platforms and shared on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple, and Spotify, where true crime audiences continue to get their content. According to Sherman, the trauma can be immediate and long-lasting. “It hits every sense at once, sight, smell, sound,” he said. “Your brain doesn't forget that.” Many officers quietly struggle after such incidents, even while continuing daily duties. “You go from something horrific straight to the next call,” Sherman explained. “There's rarely time to process what you just experienced.” Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. You can find the show on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn, as well as read companion articles and updates on Medium, Blogspot, YouTube, and even IMDB. He believes fire-related deaths are among the most frequent yet least discussed sources of officer trauma nationwide. When Support Falls Short Sherman says the incident was shocking enough on its own, but what followed left an equally lasting impression. The criminal sentence handed down to the murderer surprised many involved in the case, raising questions about how fire-related homicides are viewed compared to other forms of murder. Even more troubling to Sherman was what he describes as a lack of compassion from leadership afterward. “Sometimes you expect understanding from your own organization,” he said. “And sometimes it just isn't there.” The experience reinforced his belief that law enforcement agencies must address mental health support as seriously as operational training. Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. Free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. Murder Beyond Guns and Knives Under U.S. law, murder is defined as the unlawful killing of another person with “malice aforethought,” meaning intent or conscious disregard for human life. First-degree murder involves premeditation, while second-degree murder involves intentional killing without planning. Manslaughter differs by involving reckless or emotionally provoked actions rather than deliberate intent. While public perception often centers on shootings or stabbings, Sherman says fire-related killings reveal another reality of violent crime. “Fire is slow, painful, and terrifying,” he said. “It's one of the cruelest ways someone can take a life.” The City Behind the Story Sherman's career unfolded in Bakersfield, California, the county seat of Kern County and a major agricultural and energy-producing region in the southern San Joaquin Valley. With a population exceeding 400,000 residents, the Bakersfield Police Department serves a large and diverse urban community with more than 590 sworn officers and professional staff. Fire As A Weapon for Murder: A Retired California Cop's Experience With Trauma Few Are Prepared For. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. In recent years, the city has seen encouraging reductions in violent crime, including a drop in murders from 60 in 2021 to 26 in 2024, along with a significant decrease in shootings. But statistics rarely capture the emotional impact carried by first responders. Turning Experience Into Awareness Today, Sherman shares his experiences through the interview on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, it's social media, and long-form conversations online, using modern platforms to reach audiences who consume News in new ways. His goal is simple: increase awareness about the realities officers face and encourage departments to improve training and mental health support. “Cops are expected to handle the worst moments of humanity,” Sherman said. “But we're still human beings absorbing trauma every day.” By speaking openly, Sherman hopes conversations about Fire As A Weapon for Murder will expand beyond criminal justice discussions to include officer wellness, compassion, and preparation. Peacewarts: Living Roots 101 - Subsistence as Dignity (Class 14) We conclude our journey in the Department of Living Roots by reframing subsistence not as a state of poverty, but as the highest form of dignity and freedom. We explore how dependency has been used as a weapon through the get big or get out era and the cultural construction of peasant shame. By examining the resilience of Cuba's organopónicos and the concept of time sovereignty, we establish that food autonomy is the ultimate form of disarmament, removing the primary levers of coercion and violence from society. Homework: Look back at your notes from the last 14 classes. Whichliving root felt the most important to your own sense of security? Write down one question about any of this episode's topics. If you don't have a question, write "no question." The Final Project: Identify one skill you have learned this semester—whether it's mending, seed-saving, or just learning a neighbor's name—and teach it to someone else this week. Learning Topics: Subsistence as Dignity; The Harvest Table; Dependency as a Weapon; The Earl Butz Era; Cultural Stigmas of Traditional Farming; The Devaluation of the Hand; The Cuban Special Period (organopónicos); Time Sovereignty; Precarity Panic; The Law of Return. In this message, minister Isis Underwood addresses the barriers that prevent believers from functioning in their original design: spiritual strongholds. Based on 2 Corinthians 10:3–5 (NKJV), she defines strongholds not just as external behaviors, but as "arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God." This teaching breaks down how strongholds are constructed in the mind through specific thought patterns and provides the biblical weapons required to dismantle them.Key Takeaways: The Anatomy of a Stronghold: Strongholds begin in the thoughts. The progression is: Thoughts → Decisions → Actions → Values → Lifestyle → Bondage. Spiritual territories are lost when we do not have the strength to hold the space against the enemy's lies. Roots of Entry: Voluntary: Sin cycles, personal agreement with lies, and rebellious actions. Involuntary: Trauma or victimization. Regardless of the entry point, the enemy uses both to establish influence, and both must be torn down through agreement with God. Common Lies That Build Strongholds: Isis identifies subtle thoughts that exalt themselves against God, such as "Truth is relative," "God exists but doesn't care," "My good outweighs my bad (moral self-justification)," and "I have autonomy without God". Weapons of Destruction: Strongholds are destroyed by: The Weapon of Truth: Replacing lies with specific Scripture. The Weapon of Authority: Using the name of Jesus. The Weapon of Repentance: Defined as metanoia—a radical change of mind, not just emotional sorrow. The Weapon of Humble Obedience: Submission to God is the mechanism of freedom. Authority vs. Power: Every believer has Authority (the right to rule given by position in Christ), but Power (the ability to rule) is accessed when strongholds are removed and obedience is established.
Falling into the same sin again and again? Don't let the devil fool you, there is hope! Fr. Mike Schmitz warns us of the lies of the devil and encourages us to go immediately to confession when we sin. Don't get discouraged, but have the humility to confess your sins and the hope that Christ can transform you! If in weakness you sin, in freedom, claim the Lord.

In this solo episode of Harder Than Life, Kelly Siegel breaks down why real discipline isn't intensity—it's regulation and self-respect. Kelly shares how hustle culture confuses motion with progress, why overcommitment is fear in disguise, and how stillness is one of the most advanced discipline skills you can build. This episode explores saying no, slowing down with intention, building self-trust, and leading with presence instead of force. Key Takeaways
