The second deployment we spearheaded Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah in November 2004. After being honorably discharged in 2005 (promoted Sgt. in 2005), I returned home and married my girlfriend. Sarah and I have two children that were both born in November. This changed how I experience November. It used to be all about death and destruction. Now it is about new life and joy. I earned two degrees from UC Berkeley in social work (2010 and 2012). I live with family in Petaluma, CA and have been the director of the North Bay Vet Center since 2018. I am a licensed clinical social worker and therapist working with combat veterans and vets who have experienced sexual trauma.
