Can you believe it peep's? Six more 70's movie reviews for you. 4 from 1975, one 1978 sequel to a 1975 film, and one 1980 film that's just there to bring some fun random chaos, and that's not sayin anything about the film itself, we'll get there. Starting off our 4- 75's in alphabetical order we have Disney's (Escape to witch mountain 1975). I'm sorry but give me just 25 million dollars and I know that I could make an amazing reboot of this shit, I think the story is pretty great and timeless, and though I've never directed nothing, I am one hundred percent sure of it. Damn it Dominic, stop casting an imaginary film in yer head and get it together, you've got to vacuum soon. Ok moving on to (In Celebration 1975) Seriously why is Oliver Reed NOT in this. I don't normally complain about casting but……… Here we DO have the annoying artist from An Unmarried Woman, the principal of Rushmore academy in Rushmore, and three other actors from other Lindsey Anderson movies and that's it. Yes 70's film fans it's yet another way to loyal to the confinements of a play movie, I usually for some reason really love these, do I here? You'll just have to wait and find out. Mystique lure, 5 points! Next up is (Mackintosh and TJ 1975) and omg as I write this we just watched the movie Cold Turkey last night, and although I may like much of both of these, they and many other films that even in the 70's should of known better. There are both suspiciously 99.9 percent white people only movies. I know I know the “of the time” BS but we should notice and mention this poop BECAUSE it's noticeable, I mean IS that what you wanna say, I don't think so, I hope not. Here we have Roy Rogers in his last movie, and again, lots to dig here especially the fact that ROY has got skills, but also it's fun and mostly light, way too bad it's mad white. GARAK of DS9 is here as well. Onward we go to review (Shampoo 1975) and like In Celebration, here we have a director I really like, making a film that, wellllllllllllllll I'd rather not say. I will say that some actor greats are here doin great work, Julie, Christie, Goldie Hawn, Jack Warden, Lee Grant, and Carrie Fisher to name a few. I left out Warren Beatty not because his acting is bad here, its great ish (he always seems to play so clueless) but because I want to point out that his character alone is why this doesn't get a higher rating, from me, lets see what the others say. This is taking way to long, next up to bat is the sequel (Return to Witch Mountain 1978) and guess what…………… it sucks HA! Betty Davis and Christopher Lee don't suck, buuuuuuuuuut. Moving on (finally) to (Touched by Love 1980) gawd that is such a basic ass title I guess I can't say it enough, it's so very free box. Here we have Diane Lane in her 2nd film ever, also older Kunta from roots is here and great character actor with 150 credits Mary Wickes. This one took all of us awhile to figure out that it takes place in I think the late 50's. That was funny n fun journey, as we slowly gathered context clues. It might of even said the year, but this one is sadly only available on VHS and I started it like 45 seconds too late and and did not wanna get up off my butt to rewind it, til the end. Were silly. If you're interested in the history of the treatment of the developmentally disabled it's quite a worthwhile watch, although this place seems like the best ever for the 50's or 60's. Longest episode synopsis ever, apologies and thanks so much for listening.

“In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.” — Edward J. Stieglitz We're making history together today! This episode is part of a successful world record attempt where 100 skydivers, each over 60 years old, jumped out of an airplane and created a formation on the way down. Check out the video version of this episode to see the clip that has raised the bar for what a podcast intro can do — and how age should never stop you from experiencing what you want. Norman Kent embarked on his first jungle expedition at 14 years old where he developed a strong desire to capture the beauty he saw and share it with the world. At 19 years old, Norman made his first skydive – a moment that would change his life forever. Since that time, Norman has worked on blockbuster films like Cliffhanger, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Godzilla. He's also made his own skydiving films, consulted to special forces units, and helped facilitate record-breaking feats all over the world – as well jumping into ceremonies of both the summer and winter Olympic Games. As a skydiving pioneer, Norman has more than 30,000 jumps to his name, including the first expedition to ever jump onto the North Pole, a joint exercise with the US and Russian military. In the skydiving community, Norman has earned the respect as the world's best skydiving cinematographer. In this episode: What drives Norman's continued love of adventure How to summon courage during your most fearful moments Some of the most fascinating moments from his acclaimed career (including the mindset that makes Tom Cruise perform at such a high level), and What Norman's time at the coalface of death has taught him about life. It was a long day and I did volunteer at an information booth to talk about the program I work at, so my brain is a little fried. But that is not helping inform you, the dear reader about anything. Onward. Look at these kids, sitting around, looking at a space gate. Man, when I was there age, I had a stick. I was told that that would be my toy and the firewood for the night so don't get too attached. But these spoiled kids get bored by looking at space and different realities. Bad parenting. A little tip for all of you people. If you are ever faced with a galactic entity or a giant robot, never discount the effect of running away and hiding. Sure, when they destroy your world, the game is over, but still. Maybe you can go out with dignity. Ok, you probably will not, but at least you tried. Speaking of dignity, our Alt Reed buddy had zero of it left when he snuffed it after using the ultimate nullifier. Way to represent your cult my dude. You effected zero change. The only thing you contributed was a momentary light source when your body turned itself into a flame. Now Doom, he is class. Absolute style. He went out like a boss. It does not matter how many times the Fantastic Four take him down. or how much they make him look like a fool. He is Doom. Again, giant robots are not your friends. Never were, and never will be. I think we all know that artificial intelligence will one day destroy us all...either that or a really bad fish taco. I cannot remember what the prophecy said. But Doom...DOOOM....DOOOOOM......he will give us hope....if that hope is that we will all be ruled by someone who wants to rule us like a dictator. Huh...we probably will deserve that. Ok. So that is it. I set myself a time limit and let's see what we have. Well, I have 14 minutes remaining, and I have produced a bunch of hot garbage. Good game coach, good game. He has worked on some of the most important issues of the past nearly half century — from 9/11 to Softbank's $22B acquisition of Sprint. With increasing polarization and political dysfunction, many may feel that our democracy is at risk. Most people don't know why, let alone how we might fix it. With nearly 40 years as a Washington-DC-insider, David Carmen has real knowledge and concrete suggestions that he argues could bring us into a new era of effective government. Maureen R replied: "St. Patrick's Day is a family day, starting with donuts, then Mass at St. Colman, one of the oldest churches in Cleveland, that for decades had supported a largely Irish immigrant neighborhood. This Mass is the start of the day for the West Side Irish American Club. The dignitaries and club marching units from pipes and drums to tiny pom pom "Bridgies" march into the church with all the regalia of the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Parts of Mass are read in Irish Gaelic, and familiar Irish songs and readings are shared. The lighting in the church is changed to green uplights and the hall is filled wall to wall with families in Irish sweaters and Irish pride. After Mass and the marching units parade out of the church, everyone heads to downtown Cleveland for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade, one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. and one of the only St. Patrick's Day parades that is always held ON the day. After the parade, families disperse to the many parties all around town. After marching in the parade, I will head off to entertain the crowds with my band, Ballinloch for the last performance of a two week non - stop Irish adventure."

Today I am joined by Leah Hadley, the Founder and CEO of Great Lakes Divorce Financial Solutions. Leah is on the show to talk about financial preparation before, during, and after a divorce. She provides some incredible tips on how to set yourself up so you are knowledgeable about your finances as well as planning for the next steps. Leah provides a full list of items in this episode for you to collect throughout the divorce to be successful. Tune in today so you can be prepared!  In this episode: [2:04] What led Leah to help people through finances and divorce? [7:52] What things should people prepare before a divorce? [11:04] Is there ever a negative implication for running your credit report? [12:10] How to get the education to be knowledgeable during the divorce process. [16:03] What questions do you need to ask yourself when splitting up assets to ensure that you have financial security? [20:13] What to look at and how to set yourself up for success post divorce.  Key Takeaways:  Divorce provides you with an opportunity to determine your own values. Many times we negotiate our values or lose sight of them while in a marriage, so this is a time to reclaim your life. Many people find themselves in a way after divorce that is truly beautiful. Understanding the current financial situation is essential when going into a divorce. Being aware of what the budget is, what your fixed expenses are, and where there is financial liquidity will lead to coming out on the other side in a better situation. Things will likely shift post divorce as far as expenses and the luxuries that you are able to have. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as you may end up realizing that you feel better in a different home or with a different vehicle. Less financial stress leads to a more peaceful life and home.  Quotes:  “If you're stressed, you're financially strapped to try to stay in this home, that just creates a lot more angst around the whole financial situation, and it just gets worse. It doesn't get easier, it compounds if you're already in a tight financial situation.” - Leah Hadley  “When you get to reclaim your life in this next chapter, you get to decide what am I going to prioritize, what are my values?” - Leah Hadley Guest Bio:  As the Founder/CEO of Great Lakes Divorce Financial Solutions and Great Lakes Investment Management, Leah strives to help clients secure their financial independence through a strategic financial planning process.  Leah is a sought-after speaker on overcoming financial setbacks, avoiding financial mistakes in divorce, and overcoming financial abuse. She has contributed to numerous books and online publications and is the author of When It's Just Not Working: A Practical Divorce Guide for Stay-At-Home Moms. She earned her BA from Bryn Mawr College and holds an MA from Ursuline College. In addition to being an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), Leah is a trained mediator with 100+ hours of training in conflict resolution.  Above all, Leah truly enjoys helping her clients succeed and reach their most cherished goals. In today's episode, we dive into the financial world, where interest rates have surged to 20-year highs in 10-year treasuries, a rather unusual situation given the state of equities. Our hosts discuss how this might not bode well for the overall crypto market, with rising interest rates potentially impacting investor sentiment.Despite some exciting news in the crypto space, such as the recent developments in Ethereum, the market seems to be treading water since the recent sell-off. The highly anticipated approval of a BlackRock ETF is on the horizon, but it's not expected for several months. This delay could explain why some investors are cashing out their profits, expecting a bit of a wait before the ETF's impact is felt. The macroeconomic focus is currently on China and interest rates, with data suggesting that both stocks and cryptocurrencies may be oversold. There's a growing sense that a bounce might be in the cards, especially considering that Bitcoin recently hit its lowest RSI levels ever. However, our hosts issue a word of caution regarding leverage. They highlight that expected volatility could return to the market in a way it hasn't in quite some time, urging listeners to approach trading with care.Shifting gears, the discussion turns to "Friend tech," the latest trend in the crypto world. It's intriguing to note that 80,000 wallets have traded shares in some capacity in just the past 11 days. While it's not quite a Ponzi scheme, it bears some resemblance, but our experts see potential use cases for this emerging trend. The podcast also features guest appearances. Joe and Repjar from the Overlords/Creepz Community, joined the conversation, showcasing their unique NFTs and artworks.Lastly, they welcome Michael Kutsche, a German-born artist who combines fine art with glitch style and 3D elements. His STUBS piece, titled "Onward," is set to be available for the burn this Friday, promising an exciting addition to the NFT art world. That wraps up this episode's summary, where we've delved into the complexities of interest rates, the crypto market, and the fascinating world of NFTs and digital art. In this latest episode of Onward, Fundrise CEO Ben Miller and co-host Cardiff Garcia give us a tour of the economic landscape that was once the status quo: a world where local lending institutions called S&Ls — or thrifts — were the primary way individuals saved for and financed home ownership. However, due to a confluence of events, including rocketing inflation similar to the past 18 months', S&Ls found themselves in a period of acute insolvency. As Ben and Cardiff explain, a series of regulatory blunders, bailouts, and bad actors then caused the crisis to deepen, eventually leading to a total shutdown of the S&L framework, forcing our financial system to perform a hard reset. In the process, the long financial era that had begun in the 1930s came to an end, and our modern era began. Out of the Savings and Loan Crisis arose some of the most basic pillars of today's economic system, fundamental to how we now think about and handle money, including national banks, banks as mortgage providers, public REITs, and the entire industry of private equity real estate. Ultimately, the Savings and Loan Crisis was so instrumental to shaping our monetary systems today that to truly understand modern finance, we need to look back at that explosive event that set the trajectory our economy still follows. Friends, you will LOVE today's episode with Ruthie Sterrett. We had so much fun and I know it will come through the speakers. Join me as I totally nerd out on all things marketing for small business. I have so much respect for how Ruthie can break down big concepts and make them easily digestible and actionable. This podcast episode is full of takeaways for you to apply TODAY to get not just views, but a real impact. Key Takeaways Ruthie is the face behind The Consistency Corner, a content management and marketing strategy agency for businesses. She offers done for you and done with you marketing plans, courses, and guidance. Ruthie loved her career in retail but needed more flexibility with a growing family. She was able to replace her corporate income in just three months, but had spent the previous 18 months laying the groundwork for that transition. It is SO important to narrow in on your ideal customer and keep them in mind. Stick to your brand's and your personal WHY. Books Ruthie recommends: Onward by Howard Schultz and Marketing Made Simple by Donald Miller “The customer is always right, but not everyone is your ideal customer” Ruthie's success equation: (Time + Consistency + Intensity you can maintain) x Belief = Result. If something's not working, brush up on your algebra skills and work backwards from this equation.  “Social Media is not a marketing strategy just like a coffee cup isn't coffee. It's a container for your coffee. Social media is a container for your content, which is part of your marketing strategy.” “Pick the platforms that you can show up on consistently over time, and really hone in on those as your needle-movers” Attract, nurture, convert: One piece of content cannot do all three One BIG takeaway from today: Check out Ruthie's gift to listeners of a holiday content planner with six weeks of content prompts!
