What does it look like to move closer to God, one step at a time? Pastor Connor will explore that question in our new sermon series, “Onward.” This week's message looks at the beginning of our journey, the launchpad we take off from. Like a 5,000-ton rocket under gravity's pull, we are weighed down by the immense burden of our sin. We cannot overcome this weight on our own; we need the rocket booster of Christ's power to overcome it for us. Pastor Connor talks about the gospel: how we need it ourselves and how we can share it with those around us, so they can also be free from sin's burden. This week, our hosts talk about our new sermon series Onward, they go over the weight that Christians have on their shoulders, the difficulties of captivating someone when sharing the Gospel, and at what point does one know enough to share the Gospel with others. Oh and tune into the beginning to get to know Jason's summer intern Alex, as he shares what he has been done so far this summer with the church. If you would like to watch the video podcast, find us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMhDfGn0zfzi6XjcKkSVcFAFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/discovertbcInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/topekabiblechurchWebsite: https://www.discovertbc.com/

"Onward And Upward" is the next installment in a series of Dharma talks exploring how this practice of the Dhamma can help us see our value and express it. This installment brings us to the Samādhi section (Wise Effort, Wise Mindfulness, and Wise Concentration) and dives into how these qualities support and sustain the entire path of practice. Rather than treating this as an ending, we reflect on how every return to the path is a new beginning, spiraling upward with greater clarity, steadiness, and compassion each time around. I hope this gives you something you need. Enjoy!https://bio.reverendgeorgebeecher.com

Today, Onward Delivery's CEO and founder, Grafton Elliott, tackles the fragmentation in oversized freight, why brokers remain essential in this evolving space, and what the NMFC code changes mean for large and bulky logistics! Grafton breaks down how Onward's middleware solution bridges brokers and local carriers' TMS systems without competing with either side. With parcel models proving unfit for bulky freight, the shift toward workflow standardization and broker-led coordination is crucial, especially as technology now enables this sector to match the speed and visibility of parcel services. As Grafton puts it, the timing couldn't be better to rethink how big and bulky gets delivered! Data-center veteran Kervin Pillay walks us through the coming AI infrastructure boom. Pillay argues the U.S. is about to sink 10x the capital it took to create the Interstate Highway System into new data center capacity, racing toward “hundreds of gigawatts” of compute—each gigawatt-scale campus drawing more power than a major city. — For a deeper dive into these insights and more, be sure to listen to the full episode of the Onward podcast. To learn more about how we can work together click HERE.The inspiration for this podcast came from a reel I saw on Instagram. A woman was being interviewed and said "No one is going to be talking about how you look in your bathing suit at your funeral. Drink the wine, eat the bread!"I agree. However, I would like to offer a different perspective, one that I believe is more accurate and empowering.Because often, this way of thinking feels like a permission slip to surrender.Onward!~CourtneyI'd like to invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation with me HERE to discuss the changes you'd like to make to your body and life. These consultations are fun, powerful, and can be a catalyst for uncovering what needs to change to create a more beautiful body and life. ~ Courtney
Disney/Pixar's slate of films in their "Disney+ streaming era" as it was post-COVID-19 pandemic, to put it shortly, might have been a bit forgettable: the gang has discussed Soul and certainly enjoyed its mellow vibe, but Onward got dumpstered in March 2020 and Luca appears to have completely fallen out of the cultural headspace. 2022's Turning Red, on the other hand, was actually a film brought to our April Fool's special episode that year, and now we get to seriously discuss its impressive portrayals of the middle school experience, Asian heritage, the cultural hallmarks of the 90s, and a genuine coming-of-age narrative. We all agree that it's a bit underrated these days in the Disney/Pixar pantheon, and there's a ton of impressive emotional payoff and strong messages packed into a neat little 2-hour runtime. Content warning: SPOILERS, strong language.Editor's note: I think it's hilarious that this episode is Episode 4 of Season 18. It's like poetry.

Were you aware that Psalms 120-134 were sung by groups of Jewish worshipers on their way up to Jerusalem for the High Holy Days? In fact, your bible likely subtitles each of them ‘A Song of Ascents'. It is believed that Jewish worshipers would travel in groups, families and sometimes entire villages, singing these Psalms along the way of the Holy City. But even more interesting, these 15 songs span the entire Christian journey from salvation to glorification passing through the ups and downs of sanctification. They take us from the valley of repentance, to the heights of Christian joy. Step by step, we are urged onward and upward in these Songs of Ascents, learning endurance in the face of constant opposition. What we need is a guide and a friend to help us along the way. Both of them will be found in these fifteen Psalms. Come along as we climb the hill together, onward and upward to our eternal joy!
