Welcome to There Is More To Our Story, brought to you by Soul Seed Gathering, a research project bringing the deep feminine to historical significance and cultural relevance. It is here will be sharing interviews with Medicine Women, Indigenous Leaders, Academics, Activists and Visionaries, who help provide a comprehensive world view of the Deep Feminine, and Earth-based cultures we have not been taught about in school, shown in media and are often shared only superficially in spirituality. We are exploring the archeological record, diving deep into the mythologies, folktales and oral traditions that have also changed through time. We are digging into our ancestral and global women's wisdom traditions, speaking with indigenous female elders and leaders, and activists to integrate real knowledge and perspective shifts into our lives today. We look to themes of power, ceremony and ritual, sexuality, leadership, activism, community and earth-based philosophies. This week, we are in conversation with Bruce Parry. You may remember Bruce from the BBC series Tribe in which his final meeting with the Penan people in Borneo inspired the film Tawai. This is a beautiful and moving film that shows the egalitarian way of life of the Penan people. In this conversation we explore what we could imagine for our world in terms of living in balance and peace, looking to the Penan, and Mbendjele people. This is a beautiful continuation from last weeks episode with Riane Eisler, where we look to the egalitarian ways of the past. We hope you’ll enjoy this episode! This week, we are in conversation with Riane Eisler, a major inspiration and trailblazer for our work at Soul Seed Gathering. Riane’s work draws from the deep feminine past and brings it into relevance today, looking at how we organize ourselves in society, understand economics, relate to our sexuality, partnerships, and how we raise children. Author of Chalice and the Blade, her most recent offering is ‘Nurturing Our Humanity: How Domination and Partnership Shape Our Brains, Lives, and Future’ co-authored with Douglas P. Fry. We believe Riane deserves even more acknowledgment and recognition than she’s received for how monumental and perspective-altering her work is for humanity. We know you’ll enjoy this episode!
