Today we're talking about Target's pride clothing line again since news of the company's collaboration with a satanist broke. We take a look at the controversial items in the collaboration and what the artist has said about satanism and Satan. One of those messages is that "Satan respects pronouns." We explain why he's right about this – Satan is the father of chaos and lies. We look at Target's response to the backlash to its pride line, which included pulling the collection from some stores, but the company's response didn't include an apology for selling the items to begin with. We explain why this doesn't mean we've won and give a call to action: We think everyone can give up Target for at least the month of June. We also discuss Chip and Joanna Gaines' silence on this Target ordeal and explain why it's so important for these famous Christians and longtime Target collaborators to speak out against what Target has been supporting. We also give a message to those expressing animosity over the Republican primary, namely due to Governor Ron DeSantis announcing his bid for president. Welcome to our closing episode for the mental health month! We are often drawn to narcissists due to a combination of complex psychological factors. Their charismatic charm, confidence, and seemingly larger-than-life presence can initially captivate us. Unfortunately, this attraction often leads to a painful cycle of manipulation, emotional abuse, and neglect, as narcissists prioritize their own needs above all else.Today, Violetta starts the episode by defining what is a narcissist and the characteristics to look out for. She proceeds with enumerating the different mind games narcissistic people often do to trick us into believing they genuinely care and other character traits to help us spot if we are dealing with one. And finally, she ends it with the most common reasons why many find narcissistic people attractive. In this episode of the School of Self-Image podcast, Tonta Leigh discusses the "dos and don'ts" of living a charmed life, inspired by a quote from Neil Donald Walsh. She encourages listeners to be the source of charm in the lives of others and to make everyone they touch feel lucky for crossing paths with them. Tanya also shares some anecdotes from her personal life, including hosting family and training for her first pickleball tournament. Finally, she reminds listeners that it's the little things in everyday life that can bring the most joy.   [00:03:35] Living a charmed life. [00:04:33] The meaning of 'charm'.  [00:06:20] SOSI South.  [00:13:01] Being a Giver, not a taker.   [00:16:51] Impress yourself.   [00:21:13] Stop focusing on the unattractive.   [00:25:03] Don't sweat the small stuff.    [00:29:29] Slowing down for a charmed life.   Quotes:  Charm means the power of giving delight or arousing admiration to achieve something as if by magic. Life gives to the giver and takes from the taker. Live to impress yourself. Another thing to do if you want to live a charmed life is to unplug from the unattractive. Charm and complaining don't go together. But the other beautiful thing about slowing down is that you begin to realize that life can only be as beautiful as you make this moment."   Useful Resources:    Join Now!  https://schoolofselfimage.com/join     FREE Download: https://schoolofselfimage.com/self-image-manifesto/     Join us at SOSI South!:  http://schoolofselfimage.com/south   Connect with Self-Image Coach Tonya Leigh:     Website:  https://schoolofselfimage.com     Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/tonyaleigh       Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TonyaLeighOfficial     TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thetonyaleigh       YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TonyaLeighOfficial

Today we're joined by Peter Schweizer, American political researcher and author of many books including "Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win," to talk about the U.S. government's corruption surrounding China. For a long time, global elites have told us that the U.S. merging closer with China is a good thing, but that's been proven to be categorically wrong. This merging has only made those same elites richer, and they continue to do things like help build the Chinese military. We discuss the Biden family's ties to China and why they're so important (and often misrepresented as less drastic than they really are). The truth is that every single deal the Biden family made with China was with an individual with deep ties to the CCP's spy apparatus. We talk about what we're really giving up when we do business with China and cover TikTok, the NBA, and college campus corruption as well. Then, we look at how China pushes progressive policies in the U.S. to weakens us, while not allowing those same policies in its own country. What can we do to combat this ourselves, and is there hope from any entity of government? Welcome to Mindful Mondays with Doctor Jayne, a podcast that explores how to turn pain into power in transforming our lives. In this episode, we dive deep into the topic of love, and how our culture and society often programs us to believe that love comes from outside ourselves. Doctor Jayne, brings her years of experience to help us understand this inverted belief and the importance of seeking love from within. From a young age, we are taught through movies, books, and media that love is something that we must seek and find outside ourselves. This programming sets the foundation for many to believe that love can be found in external sources and experiences. However, over time, life teaches us that outside love is not sustainable, leaving us feeling unlovable and lost. Doctor Jayne shares her expertise on how to break this programming and find love from within. By learning to cultivate self-love and mindfulness, we can achieve true, sustainable love that doesn't fade when external circumstances change. Join us for this powerful episode as Doctor Jayne guides us towards the path of self-love and inner peace. Whether you are struggling with feelings of unlovability or simply seeking to deepen your connection to self, this episode is a must-listen for anyone seeking transformation. In this episode, we had fun with an analogy comparing our life to a baby shark living inside a fish tank.  Sara had read a LinkedIn article, shark-growth-theory-raman-dua and it said this, “Did you ever think what will happen if we grow a shark in a fish tank, will it still grow the same size. Nope, it's not like that , a shark will grow not more than 8 inches if you put it into a tank and the same shark will grow 8 feet in the ocean . The shark will never outgrow its environment and the same is true about you. Our growth and progress of life depends upon our environment and surroundings.”   Listen in to hear our lively discussion around this concept.  Our environment certainly plays a role in our growth, and realizing that in a lot of ways, we have some control over that, can be empowering.  We shared how yes to be stuck in a “fish tank” can definitely thwart your growth, your vision of who you truly want to become and the impact you can have on this world.  Yet, even if we feel like we are in the big “ocean” swimming with the bigger fish, do we find ourselves “playing it safe,” hanging out in our comfort zone, afraid of swimming into unknown waters?  We had a lot of fun using this analogy and we would love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you feel like you are “stuck” in a fish tank with no choice? What is stopping you from “swimming” out into the unknown waters and exploring new growth opportunities? Do you tend to “play it safe” or are you more attracted to growing yourself and stepping into “the unknown waters” of possibilities?   Share your thoughts and ideas with us when you join our free Facebook community at  https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/   You can also SUBSCRIBE and watch us on Youtube at www.youtube.com/@wakeupanddreampodcast   Help us spread the word so we can inspire more women to “wake up and dream.”  Give us a “shout out” on your social media platforms!  Thank you!  Drop us a message, LIKE, SHARE, and leave us a review!  Follow us on Instagram @wakeupanddreampodcast and be sure to join us in our new, free, and fabulous Facebook group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/ See you on “the inside!”   You can also connect with each of us here:    Sara Carlisi: @saracarlisi1    Kelly Armstrong:  @kellyarmstrongofficial  kelly@fullyembraceyourlife.com   Lisa Taylor:  @lisa.kay.taylor www.linktree.com/lisa.kay.taylor

Today, we're talking about a movement within both the secular and Christian Right, which has been called the "trad" movement or, in some cases, the "Red Pill" movement. It perpetuates views that could easily be seen as hateful toward women. Many of the men in this movement complain about women and equate masculinity with physical fitness and ultra self-sufficiency. In some of these circles, these men emphasize the importance of finding a traditional, service-oriented, submissive wife. But it's not just men. Twitter and TikTok are littered with "trad" women complaining about feminism and claiming to be the antidote to it as "trad" wives while simultaneously representing some of the worst forms of feminism themselves: being loudmouthed, using foul language, and showing off their bodies in a way that is by no means traditional. We talk about why this is not a biblical view of women and why this actually perpetuates hate toward them. We take another look at those in the Christian patriarchy crowd who think only men should be fighting the political battles and who appear to have an issue with the very nature of this podcast. We give our message to them. Then, we share a tribute to Tim Keller, who passed away last week and left a great legacy. Today we're talking about popular Christian figures Lauren Daigle and Chris Pratt, who both separately found themselves in the news recently. In an interview promoting her new album, Lauren Daigle was asked what she thought of her state's abortion laws. Her response was that she didn't know and couldn't comment on it. This isn't the first time she's chosen not to address hot-button cultural issues. We discuss the ongoing trend of Christians believing that God is too harsh and mean and that we need to downplay it by playing dumb or refusing to learn what the Bible actually says. This essentially just creates an excuse for Christians to be ignorant about what the Bible actually says. On the other hand, Chris Pratt was asked about his faith during a movie premiere, and his answer is shockingly encouraging coming from a mainstream celebrity. Then, Biden recently claimed that white supremacy is the greatest threat to our nation. We explain why this is not only untrue, but also shameless pandering. We take a look at a story of a BLM activist who accused a white student of hateful behavior, subsequently getting her publicly shamed and practically expelled. The problem? There is no proof that it actually happened. We discuss who is actually in power here and why it matters so much. --- Timecodes: (00:40) Intro (02:28) Allie's dream (07:58) Lauren Daigle's comments on abortion (23:32) Chris Pratt on Christianity (34:22) Biden's comments on white supremacy (46:55) BLM activist false accusation --- Today's Sponsors: Naturally It's Clean — visit https://naturallyitsclean.com/allie and use promo code "ALLIE" to receive 15% off your order. In this episode, Dr. Irene Cop welcomes Michael Ostrolenk, the Director of Human Relationships and Resilience at the Institute. Dr. Irene and Michael continue their discussion from the previous episode, which was entitled “Three Tools to Shift from Poor Performer to Elite Performer”. In this episode, they explore what it means to their clients to uplevel their performance.    Michael introduces the concept of “Negative 20x”, which is the opposite of the popular concept of 10x-ing your performance. Michael explains that many of his clients operate under the mindset of not feeling good enough and judge themselves harshly, which leads them to try to prove themselves to others.    Michael gives an example of a client who was always training for the next Spartan Race or Tough Mudder, not because he enjoyed them but because he was trying to prove something to his father and to himself. Michael suggests that instead of doing more of what they are already doing or even 10x-ing their performance, they should try negative 20x, which means slowing down and sitting quietly with themselves to notice what arises. Michael explains that this was the hardest race for his client, who found it uncomfortable to be with himself and not have a goal to train for. However, by doing so, he had breakthroughs and realized that his sense of not being good enough and the shame of being alive were driving him. He then stopped looking outward for validation and started looking inward to fulfill himself.   Dr. Irene and Michael discuss how many of their clients feel like they are not enough, and they explore the reasons behind this feeling, which usually stem from their family of origin. Michael explains that by examining these underlying issues, clients can have breakthroughs and start to shift from poor performers to elite performers.    They also discuss how being an elite performer does not mean being perfect or achieving all their goals but rather having resilience and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. Dr. Irene emphasizes the importance of being kind to oneself and not judging oneself harshly, as this can lead to burnout and other mental health issues.    Michael suggests that clients should focus on progress, not perfection, and celebrate small wins along the way.   In conclusion, this episode explores the concept of shifting from poor performer to elite performer, which is not about achieving perfection but rather having resilience and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. Michael introduces the concept of negative 20x, which means slowing down and sitting quietly with oneself to notice what arises. By doing so, clients can examine their underlying issues and have breakthroughs that can help them shift from poor performers to elite performers. They also discuss the importance of being kind to oneself and celebrating small wins along the way.   If you're interested in learning more about achieving success through mindfulness and slowing down, this episode is a must-listen.     Topics Discussed: Negative 20x approach Co-Regulation Importance of having a progress partner for accountability and support. The concept of "negative 20x," which is an alternative to the popular concept of "10x your performance." Negative 20x is about slowing down and sitting quietly within yourself instead of constantly trying to prove yourself to others. By doing this, clients can discover what's driving them and start looking inward to fulfill themselves, rather than looking outward for validation. This concept can help people who feel like they're not enough or are constantly judging themselves. The importance of having a progress partner for accountability and support, and the benefits of initiating a state change to open up the heart and mind for better communication and conflict resolution, both in personal and professional relationships. The practice of assuming the best in others and reframing situations to let go of stress and appreciate cultural differences. Having a progress partner for accountability and support can help you overcome the valley of despair when starting something new. Quotes:   “Initiate a state change to open up the heart, mind, and body for coherence and deal with conflicts more easily.” - Michael D. Ostrolenk “Assume the best in people as you don't know where they're coming from.” “Reframe your thoughts and let go of negative emotions to alleviate stress.” Doing a brief practice to realign before meetings can improve your performance and creativity.     Michael's BIO:     Connect with Michael :     Website: https://www.michaeldostrolenk.com The Emergent Human Podcast: https://soundcloud.com/mostrolenk  YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCueciKwrchJ2gtls5tAHD6A  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-ostrolenk-324665/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/mostrolenk Instagram  https://www.instagram.com/mostrolenk/   -- Listen, rate, and subscribe! When We Judge Food & Health

Through an exploration of why we judge ourselves, others, and the world around us, this podcast dives deep into how our judgments can be both natural and harmful. As we uncover the real power behind our judgments, we must ask ourselves: are we really in control of our judgments, or do we hold the power to be in control of ourselves? I was counseling a client about their food habits and judgments when things suddenly took an unexpected turn. Uncovering a pattern that extended far beyond food and deep into our beliefs and behaviors, I set out on a journey of self-exploration and awareness to help others liberate themselves from the chains of judgment and find their true selves. What I found was both surprising and inspiring - a truth that changed the way I saw the world. If you're feeling frustrated and hopeless about not being able to accept yourself, embrace self-love, and be your true self despite all the self-criticism and negative body image that you battle with, then you are not alone! Have you ever heard that, in order to love yourself, you must eat whatever you desire, that comparing yourself to others will make your self-esteem rise, or that self-judgment will help you achieve your goals? As a woman who struggles with self-judgment and body image, you may have heard these myths, but I'm here to share the truth about overcoming judgment in eating habits and self-perception. The resources mentioned in this episode are: Reflect on your own judgments and ask yourself if they are true, who decided they were true, and if everyone in the world agrees with them. Start questioning your beliefs and judgments when you hear yourself saying should or shouldn't. Consider how societal norms and expectations have influenced your judgments and beliefs. Analyze your judgments about food, behavior, appearance, and other aspects of life. Practice being more aware of your judgments and the emotions they evoke in you. Give yourself permission to judge, but avoid acting on those judgments in a negative way. Work on reducing the strength of your judgments by becoming more aware of them and questioning their validity. Reevaluate your beliefs and judgments about what is appropriate or civilized behavior. Challenge societal expectations about gender roles, body image, and other aspects of life. Share your experiences and insights about judgment with others, either in conversations or by creating content such as podcasts or blog posts. The Nuances of Judgment In daily life, judgment is a natural occurrence involving categorizing situations or people as positive or negative. While it is impossible to completely avoid judgment, it is essential to understand the nuances of our judgments and how they feel internally. By becoming hyper-aware of these judgments, individuals can begin to question and analyze their thoughts, rather than automatically acting upon them. This awareness allows for introspection and growth as an individual navigate challenging situations. Elizabeth Sherman delves into this topic on her podcast, discussing the importance of confronting and analyzing the judgments we hold about ourselves and others. Through engaging in conversation with her clients and audience, Elizabeth encourages the recognition of these judgments and the importance of questioning their validity. Acknowledging that it's impossible not to judge, she emphasizes the impact that understanding our thoughts and their origins can have on improving self-perception and relationships with others. “When we think other people are judging us, we are actually judging ourselves because we don't actually know what other people are thinking about us.” - Elizabeth Sherman Get full show notes and more information here: https://elizabethsherman.com/podcast/122
