POPULARITY
What is it that motivates you and excites you? Paul's passion for gospel ministry 1) He serves the church with the Word of God A servant who brings the Word of God A Word that is all about the mystery revealed in Christ A service that entails suffering 2) He works hard to present everyone mature in Christ Paul labours, toils and strives to make Christ known All ministry is hard work But we do it with the strength Christ gives 3) He wants to see Christ formed in others Paul wrestles in prayer for Christians: To be encouraged in heart To be united in love So they might really know Christ And be equipped to resist false teaching
Debbie Huntley joined Pastor Margaret Michael and Grayson Willis on today's broadcast of Hope Talks to talk with us about Hope and how important that it is as Christians TO share that hope with others around us.
Good vs Evil. A battle that takes place every day. Which side are you on? Hopefully you’re on the good side and if you are know that in Acts Paul wrote to the Christians To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. So we know that with God in us and us in Him we have a game changing plan that good prevails each and every time even if you can send the end results immediately. As you listen in spirit our hopes is that you learn with God anything is possible save yourself the trouble and don’t try and do anything without seeking Him first. We love you all, my God bless you each and every step of your spiritual journey!
John 15:18-16:41. Being chosen changes everything, v. 18-21-World refers to the whole mass of humanity alienated from God, and therefore, hostile to the cause of Christ.2. Opposition is the outworking of guilt, v. 22-25Two things we need to see here:1) The words and works of Jesus establish a standard of universal guilt for all of humanity. 2) This is also the origin of objective truth for Christians.3. We need both the internal & external witness, v. 26-27a) internal witness- Holy Spiritb) external witness- Christians -To bear witness simply means “to affirm that one has seen, heard or experienced something.” 4. Jesus has a goal, v. 16:1-4-1 John 2:19Five theses on eternal security:a. We are justified by grace alone through faith alone apart from any works. -Ephesians 2:8-9 -Romans 3:28b. Those who are justified will certainly be glorified. -Romans 8:30 c. No one will be glorified/finally saved who does not continue in faith. - I Corinthians 15:1-2- Colossians 1:21-23d. God Himself will keep His children from finally falling away. -Philippians 1:6-1 Corinthians 1:8-9e. God keeps His children by means of His children. -Hebrews 3:13-14-James 5:19-20Food for thought…When the world hates you do you feel affirmed or defeated? Why? What effects of guilt do you see at work in the world today? How does understanding the internal witness of the Holy Spirit inform your witness?Do you know anybody who is drifting away that God is calling you to speak to in love? What do you think was God’s goal for you hearing this message today?
Are you being Christian or doing Christian? There's a huge difference between the two. When Shakespeare asked "the question", To Be or Not To Be ... he was asking to live (or exist) or not to live. Well a similar question applies to Christians To be a Christian or to do Christian. Listen in as we explore what is a Christian.
2017.02.28 In a series of podcasts, now published as a book, Peter Adamson attempts to tell the story of philosophy in the Islamic world "without any gaps.” The goal is to include all authors and texts from the Islamic world worthy of historical consideration. More an ambition than a feasible goal, this editorial curatorship raises numerous questions. Is this really the story of philosophy only among Muslims, or also among Jews and Christians? To what extent did philosophy undergo a "decline" after the classical era as is so often alleged? Does Islamic theology (kalām) fall within the scope of this inquiry? This lecture explores these methodological issues by way of illustrative examples drawn from a wide chronological and geographical range. Speaker Peter Adamson Professor of Philosophy, LMU Munich
