In Colossians 4, Paul reminds us that the mission of Jesus isn't reserved for spiritual superheroes—it's carried out through ordinary people, living with prayer, wisdom, and grace in everyday life. The world is hungry for good news, and God is still opening doors for the gospel to move around tables, in conversations, and through relationships. As we close this series, the invitation is clear: don't just believe the message of the gospel—live it, and carry it wherever you go.Catch the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons.Support the show

Paul shows us in Colossians 3:15–4:1 that the gospel isn't just for Sunday mornings—it's meant to transform our homes, our relationships, and our everyday lives. The invitation is to let the peace of Christ rule the hidden rooms of our lives, not just the public spaces. When Jesus becomes the center, even the most ordinary moments can become worship.Catch the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons.Support the show

Paul is nearly finished his letter to the Colossians. But before he wraps it up he leaves them with some final instructions. He calls them to love the other local churches in their area, to love the Word of God, and to love those in the congregation who need some encouragement - instructions that should still be observed by every local church today.
Paul ends his letter to the Colossians the same way he started it - with the grace of God. This final message in our series looks at how the grace of God to the Colossians is found in the very words that the apostle wrote to them. The entire book of Colossians is an undeserved gift of God's goodness to us. The Word of God to us is the grace of God for us.

Paul's letter to the church at Colossae concludes with admonition to speak with God regularly in prayer, and to speak graciously with others, acting wisely toward outsiders who do not yet know the mystery of Christ revealed through his gospel. After this, he includes a summary about the ministry of the gospel being performed through other faithful men. These include Tychicus and Onesimus who are delivering the letter, Aristarchus, who is also in prison with Paul, as well as Mark, Barnabas, Justus, Epaphras, Luke the physician who wrote the gospel of Luke and Acts. On a technical note, we'll actually be picking up at verse 2 since chapter 4:1 was covered in our last episode. :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org
Luke and Demas - Two coworkers who were with Paul while the apostle was under house arrest in Rome. A few years later only one of them was still found by Paul's side. The other deserted him. In this message we look at why someone would walk away from God and we learn what we should look for in our own lives that would indicate if we will stay faithful until the end.

You are called to a mission of prayer for the Church, its workers and those we are trying to reach with the Gospel.
Paul uses a phrase in Colossians 4:11 when he identifies three of his fellow countrymen who had joined his ministry team; he labels them his "coworkers for the kingdom of God." In this message we take a brief look at the nature of work, the kingdom of God, and how those two ideas are connected.
Ever feel like you've taken on more than you can handle? I get it—so have I. Sometimes, following Jesus can feel overwhelming, like you're trying to juggle more than you were ever meant to carry. The good news? God never intended for you to do it all on your own. In fact, He's given us exactly what we need to stay strong and stay faithful.

This weeks message explored the Apostle Paul's final exhortations in Colossians 4, emphasizing the vital role of prayer and the power of personal witness. Despite being imprisoned, Paul urged believers to devote themselves to prayer with alert minds and grateful hearts. Prayer was framed not merely as a task, but as a daily discipline and mindset—an invitation to surrender personal will and trust God's wisdom. Listeners were challenged to let humility shape their conversations with God and to approach others with wisdom and grace. The message highlighted how actions and words serve as a living testimony to the hope found in Christ. In a world filled with noise, this episode called for a renewed commitment: prioritize prayer, deepen connection with God, and let everyday life tell the story of Jesus.

Failure is a part of life. It is inevitable. Everyone fails. But not everyone recovers from their failures and overcomes them. Mark was somebody who did. In this message we look at what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians concerning Mark and we learn some valuable lessons about overcoming failure.

Walk In Wisdom, Colossians 4:3-6
Paul allocates one half verse to mentioning his fellow prisoner Aristarchus. And he uses these few words at the front end of Colossians 4:10 to relay a message from Aristarchus to the believers at Colossae. And the message is this: Greetings! In this sermon we take a look at the significance of the New Testament greeting and we draw out an implication for our lives by looking at the circumstances that Aristarchus sends his greetings from.

Onesimus comes back home. The backstory behind his leaving Colossae and his return to it is fascinating. And it teaches us a valuable lesson about who we are in Christ.

As we confront the struggles of life and unanswered plea, we're encouraged to not just seek personal breakthroughs, but to pray boldly for opportunities to share the gospel, just as Paul did. This sermon concludes a 9-week series on Colossians, focusing on the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ throughout the book. Pastor Devin reviews key themes from each chapter showing how Christ is supreme and sufficient in all areas - as Creator, Sustainer, Head of the Church, Source of wisdom, and giver of new life. The sermon concludes by examining Paul's emphasis on prayer and living with expectant hope for Christ's return. What does it mean for Christ to be 'sufficient' in our lives? How does your prayer life reflect your relationship with God?Why do you think Paul asked for prayer for the advancement of the gospel rather than his own freedom while in prison? How would your life be different if you truly lived each day expecting Christ's return? What areas of your life do you struggle to fully surrender to Christ's supremacy? How does knowing Christ is sufficient change how we handle difficulties and persecution? What practical steps can we take to make prayer more central in our daily lives? How can we better demonstrate Christ's supremacy to others in our community?Support the show
Tychicus was sent by Paul to deliver his letter to the Colossians. And in that letter, Paul wrote about Tychicus, commending him to the church at Colossae. Why did Paul do that? And what are the implications of Tychicus' commendation for Christians today?
