In this Father's Day special, we're talking about why a father's health and fitness matter far beyond the gym. Too often, dads put everyone else's needs ahead of their own and neglect their physical and mental well-being in the process. But the truth is that taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's one of the greatest gifts you can give your family. In this episode, we'll discuss how prioritizing your health helps you become a better husband, father, leader, and role model. We'll explore the connection between fitness, energy, confidence, mental resilience, and longevity, and why showing up for yourself allows you to show up more fully for the people who matter most.Whether you're a father yourself or someone who wants to support the fathers in your life, this conversation is a reminder that strong families often begin with fathers who are committed to becoming the healthiest version of themselves.Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. This episode is for you.

Happy Father's Day! Today we're re-running some of our favorite Star Wars dad interviews — and dedicating this one to my own dad, Kerwin Yarde. Love you, Pop.This compilation brings together dads whose lives have been shaped by this galaxy: the legendary Billy Dee Williams, Pete Fletzer (author of Who Owns the Myth? Star Wars Fandom and the Soul of the Saga), Leland Chee, Todd Hoffman of Big T and Lil T, Raphael Moran from The Geeky Dad Podcast, the crew from The Dad Batch, and autism Dad and advocate Jamiel Owens. Each of them carries their own version of the same story: a movie that became a lifelong bond between father and child. The galaxy has a way in for everyone—and for a lot of us, a parent held the door openWhat's YOUR Star Wars origin story, and who shared it with you? Who got you into this galaxy?
Happy Father's Day from the New York Times! Allie highlights a number of headlines from the outlet bashing fathers instead of revering them (even Mother's Day isn't safe). However, research has shown that children who grow up with present dads have far better outcomes than children deprived of a father figure. Shifting gears, Allie is joined by Al Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, to explain his Truth and Unity Amendment outlawing female pastors in the SBC. Last but not least, Allie covers what and what not to say to a pregnant woman. Do you have a question for Allie? It's a Father's Day episode here in the Funjelah studio! Are you a dad, know a dad, or just give off dad energy? This week is for you. Anjelah admits that she inherited not only her humor and ability to make people laugh from her dad, but also his hot temper. Danielle shares what it was like taking a cross country road trip with her father and realizing, perhaps a little too quickly, just how similar they really are. Plus, both dads call in! Happy Father's Day to all the dads, stepdads, grandpas, and father figures out there making a lasting impact.
"THE JACK SHOW" talks "Ye-mania" at SA City Hall, plus judges rule on illegals voting and SNAP buying junk foods, going "Talarican" and Cornyn shows us what a farce his last campaign was, and a guy says don't wish single moms "Happy Father's Day" .
Has Lazlo done his annual backflip yet? The reflecting pool drama is so dumb, and Lazlo swears he will not participate in Teslas, Paramount, or UFC. Poodles either hump someone, or are on their way to hump something. Happy Father's Day to those who choose not to be fathers! Lazlo and SlimFast talk about their dicks, and they also spend a weird amount of time talking about their pubes. Sages for the Ages | 2 Kings 5 Happy Father's Day. This week's message is for every person who has — or has had — an old man in their life worth celebrating. And for those who are becoming that person for someone else. We open in 1 Samuel 2:31, where God delivers a sobering warning to Eli the priest: there will no longer be an old man in your house. Eli was good in many ways, but he was passive where he needed to be decisive. His failure to correct his sons set off a chain reaction that God promised would echo for generations. The message of today isn't condemnation — it's a celebration. A celebration of the fathers, the grandfathers, the elders, the sages who stayed. Who may not have had much to say, but when they spoke, you listened. Who handed you a silver dollar from a jar when you were a child, and you never forgot it. Who told you things you didn't understand then, but needed desperately later — because wisdom is something you deposit in you before you need it. We trace the consequences of rejecting elder wisdom through the life of King Rehoboam, who stood at a crossroads with Solomon's own counselors on one side and his college friends on the other — and chose wrong. What followed divided a kingdom. And we close with this: you cannot live right unless you love right. The world needs leaders who carry the wisdom of God, the love of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Today's Scripture: 1 Samuel 2:31 | Deuteronomy 32:7 | 1 Kings 12:6–14 | Ecclesiastes 7:12 | Psalm 90:12

Welcome, folks, to The Kevin Jackson Show!First, let me start with gratitude. Happy Father's DayI put out few tweets that I would like to share with you.Happy Father's Day to conservative dads. Somewhere a progressive woman is posting, "My dad is my hero," right before explaining why men are the problem.Holy Mother of Hunter, whatever else you say about Trump, at least he knows how many children he has and he accepted them all.Because "safe spaces" rarely stop an intruder, but a good father always will.America's world's most criticized demographic and its most relied-upon one. What a coincidence. For one glorious day, the war on men pauses for cake.My birthday was on Sunday as well, and thanks to those who sent well-wishes.Thank you to everybody who sent birthday cards, gifts, well wishes, and contributions to what I now lovingly refer to as "Operation Costa Rica."Based on the current balance, I believe I can spend approximately three days there, consume several meals, enjoy a few adult beverages, and possibly stand near a golf course. Actually playing golf may require a supplemental appropriations bill. But seriously, thank you.Melissa got me one of those see-through travel fund banks a few months ago, and I can literally watch the money accumulate. It's like a conservative version of a Democrat budget. The difference is my jar actually contains money. And I will tell you this. Every time I look at it, I'm humbled. I really am.Now...Thank you also for not celebrating Juneteenth.I know that sounds harsh, but hear me out.America already has a holiday dedicated to liberty. It's called Independence Day.We don't need a committee meeting for freedom. We don't need Liberty 2.0.We don't need Freedom: The Sequel.July 4th already covers the subject matter. The Left has become obsessed with creating boutique holidays the way Starbucks creates seasonal drinks.Every historical footnote gets its own observance, awareness campaign, commemorative T-shirt, and eventually a federal employee day off.Pretty soon we'll have National Day of Recognizing the Committee That Planned the Meeting About the Event We Already Celebrated.Meanwhile, the rest of us are waiting for fireworks and barbecue.Speaking of fireworks...We've got a full plate of crow to serve today. And Democrats are once again seated at the head table.Last week Barack Obama officially opened his presidential library. Now, Democrats treated this thing like archaeologists had discovered King Tut's tomb. The media acted as though civilization itself had reached a new milestone.I watched the coverage and thought, "Did I miss something?"Because from where I sit, this felt less like the unveiling of a monument and more like the grand opening of a very expensive explanation.Think about it.The Obama presidency generated so much mythology that eventually they needed a building to store it all.And the event itself had all the cultural impact of finding out what happened to Jesse Jackson. In fact, quick question:Where were you when Jesse Jackson's political relevance was buried?Exactly.Neither do I.The media keeps trying to manufacture nostalgia for things the public already moved on from. It's like watching somebody hold a high school reunion for a graduating class that never actually liked each other. We'll get into that story because there were moments at that event that were so awkward they deserve their own documentary. Then there's Jeff Bezos. And ladies and gentlemen, we may have witnessed something rare.A billionaire experiencing reality.Bezos apparently decided to say something that employees at the Washington Post did not want to hear:See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Happy Father's Day people,I (B.R) have a heavy and deeply personal one to share, it's been three weeks since my wife and I lost our little girl. It's hard to write those words, but part of healing is sharing with your community what you're going through. The Art and War Podcast ground to a halt and not everyone knew what was going on, and it was easier to talk it out than anything else after some time away. This episode won't be for everyone, but hearing others talk through their experience with losing a child has helped us work through this darkest of times, so hopefully for anyone else dealing with grief and loss, this will be of some value to them.A big thank you to all those who have sent messages, prayers and love our way. I've been a hermit and I need to reply to you lovely people, but I've been just surviving the initial period of mourning with my wife.A very special thank you to the talented FV for this art of my tiny daughter in my hands drawn from a photo, this was a heavy piece for him to draw up on short notice and he did it justice. It's weird to share something like this on here, but it would be weirder to just continue without acknowledging this with my community. This has been the most intense few weeks of our lives, and we're coping as well as we can, but it's going to take time to heal. Regular Art and War will be back next week with a great episode on Flock cameras, but this week, a more solemn episode. For Episode 497, I am back from my ten year long overdue vacation and it's an old-school NBP reunion as just Will Mavity joins me to tell you what we feel have been the best films of 2026 so far as we approach the midway point of the year. We also share our reactions to the trailers for "Hexed" and "Hot Spot," answer your fan-submitted questions, and more! Thank you all for listening, subscribing, and supporting us. Happy Father's Day! In this special re-release episode of Off Code, we revisit our powerful conversation from three years ago with Pastor and author Brian Shannon, author of Missing Pillars: America's Black Fatherless Crisis and How the Christian Church Helped Me Overcome It. Brian unpacks the historical strength of Black two-parent families post-slavery, the “perfect storm” of 1960s cultural and policy shifts that drove fatherlessness from 25% to over 70% in two decades, and the real human cost when fathers are absent. He shares his personal testimony of growing up fatherless and how the gospel and the church restored him. Whether you're a dad, single parent, or community leader, this conversation challenges victimhood and calls us toward personal responsibility and flourishing. Grab Missing Pillars and join the discussion. Off Code #81 Season 5, Episode 11
Send us Fan MailToday isn't just Father's Day.Today is for the fathers nobody checks on.The ones who carry the weight of the world without telling anyone how heavy it feels. The men who lie awake wondering if they're doing enough. The fathers who cry in the car before walking into the house because their family needs them to be strong. The men who quietly sacrifice things their children may never know about. The fathers who stayed. The ones who kept showing up.I hope you know this today:We see you.We appreciate you.And whether you've heard it lately or not...What you're doing matters.Your children may never fully understand every sacrifice you made for them. But one day they will stand on the foundation you built. And generations will be different because you chose to stay.Happy Father's Day to the men who loved quietly, sacrificed daily, and kept showing up even when nobody was clapping. You are more than what you provide. You are deeply needed. And you are deeply lovedSupport the show

Father's Day can be a complicated day.For some men, it's a day of celebration. For others, it's a day filled with grief, regret, distance, loneliness, unanswered questions, or relationships they wish looked different than they do today. In this special Father's Day episode of The Men's Mental Health Series, Daryl Perry shares a heartfelt message for fathers, father figures, stepfathers, adoptive fathers, and the men who have stepped into a guiding role in someone else's life.Drawing from the recent loss of his own father to ALS, Daryl reflects on the lessons his dad taught him about love, forgiveness, vulnerability, and the importance of having conversations before it's too late. He also explores the emotional weight many men carry, the burden of unresolved relationships, and why healing often begins with forgiving yourself. In this episode, we discuss:• Why Father's Day can be difficult for many men• The emotional realities of fatherhood and father figures• Lessons learned from losing a parent• Why vulnerability is a sign of strength, not weakness• The damage caused by resentment, bitterness, and keeping score• How relationships can begin to heal through ownership and conversation• The importance of therapy, connection, and emotional support• Why your presence matters more than you realizeThis episode is a reminder that many men are carrying far more than they show the world. If you're struggling today, please know that you are not alone. There are people who care about you, people whose lives have been impacted by you, and people who are glad you're still here. The Men's Mental Health Series exists to encourage honest conversations around mental health, emotional well-being, vulnerability, and the realities men face every day. “When your child is having an extreme outburst of emotions, for whatever reason it might be, repeat to yourself, ‘He's not giving me a hard time. He's having a hard time.'"The dad-themed books of my childhood were always found on the back of the toilet, or nearby. Filled with jokes about golf, alone time, toilet seats, alcoholism and contact sports, these short, often illustrated paper products reflected the expectations we had of fathers as the man in the house who most deserved a nap. On this Father's Day episode of TMAYF, Erin and Elizabeth talked with Kevin Maguire of The New Fatherhood.org, and author of the new book of the same name, about the stark history and new realities of being a dad in the 2020s, his own experience with post-natal depression, how men have evolved as a species, breaking the cycles we inherit, and why psychedelics may hold the key to a personal paradigm shift for parents. Here's to the guys who are doing the work like their children are watching. Happy Father's Day to you and yours,Erin, Elizabeth & MattIt's cool. Just do it. Father's Day Weekend is already off to a bad start for Lunchbox because a neighbor made the promise of a lifetime and then ended up canceling the celebration. Ray is ready to kill Scuba after their trip to Chicago because Scuba made Ray stay in a very interesting hotel where strange things kept happening to Ray. Plus Lunchbox went to the computer store for an appointment but ended up waiting for over an hour because they screwed up big time. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there and enjoy the weekend! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! I declare a table for all people to have conversations about what housework is, what needs to be done, who needs to do it, and consider all life factors into those definitions and roles. I have just found myself a little frustrated that men get a bad wrap when it comes to helping in the house. Before you show up with torches to take me down, hear me out. Men There is clearly a discrepancy between what men think house work is, how it should be done, and who should be doing it. I take Grayson to swim lessons every week. I have been watching the female and male life guards and observing how they teach differently. Neither is right or wrong, just different approaches. Nonetheless, there are discrepancies in how the skills are taught and the priority on which skills get focus. My husband was always great at bathing the kids. Honestly his way was better. But if I had insisted on my way, I probably would have just done it myself in frustration. He enjoyed it and I didn't have to. When the grandkids came along he once again got excited to help with bath time. But to be clear, even if his way wasn't better, I would have kept having him do it just so I didn't. And that's just it. Who is willing to help even if it's not your way. We Are All Doing the Best We Can I took the time to read an excerpt from Sunshine Girl by Julianna Margulies (pp. 208-209). It's a delicate apology from her dad to her. It's a perspective she had not considered. Some men are going to a job they don't like everyday just to continue to provide. They love seeing their families happy and taken care of. That job they endure provides that lifestyle. And then on top of that their partner is saying they don't do enough around the house. They are constantly being put on the defensive about "doing enough." And I get it about the invisible load and anxiety over our homes ladies. But if he says "Just tell me what to do." Just tell him. He's in his own minutiae and may not see what needs to be done around the house. I want to see spouses working together to take care of their home. I believe both parties need to give 100%. Based on your careers and life circumstances it will likely not be 50/50. I want to see us seeking and valuing their perspective, their methods, and trying to learn from them too. Only have this expectation for yourself. You are only in control of you. Cherish the men in your life while you have them and Happy Father's Day!!
