Matthew 9:35-38 | Rosalind Young
Kingdom Come - Matthew 9:35-38: There are a million and one things calling for our time and attention. Every. Single. Day. Media and marketing are asking us to care about this initiative, that campaign, this product, that program. With the limited time, energy and resources we have, how do we determine what we care about, what we invest our lives into and about? In this passage from Matthew 9, we see that Jesus' compassion for people compelled Him to orient His life around certain principles and priorities, which compelled Him to live in very specific and purposeful ways. Come learn more about how Jesus invites us to be compassionate people and live life with purpose wherever we find ourselves. “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field.”

Jesus chooses us to practice true compassion in today's world of callousness and cruelty. By seeing people the way Jesus sees us, we're moved to display His love in real and tangible ways to those who are hurting and broken around us. Acting in true compassion glorifies God and deepens our relationship with Him and each other in community.

"Draw near to Me with a thankful heart, aware that your cup is overflowing with blessings. Gratitude enables you to perceive Me more clearly and to rejoice in our Love-relationship. Nothing can separate you from My loving Presence! That is the basis of your security. Whenever you start to feel anxious, remind yourself that your security rests in Me alone, and I am totally trustworthy. You will never be in control of your life circumstances, but you can relax and trust in My control. Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle, seek to know Me in greater depth and breadth. I long to make your life a glorious adventure, but you must stop clinging to old ways. I am always doing something new within My beloved ones. Be on the lookout for all that I have prepared for you."
