As a church we exist to create pathways for people just like you to know God, love others and serve the world. If we can help you in this journey, in any way, it would be our great honour and privilege. Join our worship services live each week on Saturday at 6:36 PM and Sunday at 9:00 AM and 11:00…
James - Practical Wisdom - James 3:13-18: Do you ever find yourself questioning who or what you can trust? One person says that all coffee is good coffee, another says that only high quality, freshly ground light to medium roast beans (7-14 days off roast, ground immediately before brewing) brewed with 30-100 TDS water at 95 degrees Celsius in a pour-over dripper at a ratio of 1:15-1:17 is good coffee. Ok, maybe that's a bad example, the second person is obviously right. How about TV shows like "Is it Cake?" that are based entirely on the premise of convincing you that something fake is the real deal. We live in a world where so many things that are fake or untrue seem completely genuine or real. Our passage this week shows us that wisdom is the same; there's true wisdom and false wisdom. Join us this week as we unpack James 3:13-18, learning how to discern and pursue true wisdom and discovering the transformative power of Godly wisdom. Bring a friend!
James - Practical Wisdom - James 3:1-12: Words have power. They can bless or curse, heal or harm. According to James, our speech is like a fire—small but incredibly destructive when left unchecked. In this passage, James shows us how the tongue reveals what's really going on in the heart. It's a spiritual thermometer, pointing to the condition of our souls. This Sunday, we'll explore why our words matter so much and how Jesus can change not just what we say, but who we are.Bring a friend and join us this Sunday at 9 or 11.
Missions Emphasis - James 2:14-26: What kind of faith makes a difference—both across the street and around the world? James reminds us that real faith is not just something we say—it's something we show. This Missions Emphasis Weekend, we'll explore how a living faith becomes a missional faith: one that reaches out in love, even when life is hard. Whether we're in a season of suffering or standing strong, God is calling us to a faith that loves, obeys and risks. Join us as we lean into the mission of Jesus, together in our city and to the ends of the earth.
James - Practical Wisdom - James 2:1-13: In a world quick to judge and slow to embrace, James 2:1–13 calls us to form a radically different kind of community—a community of grace. We all have preferences, but the Gospel invites us to trade favouritism for family and hypocrisy for humility. In God's kingdom, who you are matters more than what you have. Mercy, not status, defines us. What would it look like for us to live as people shaped by compassion, forgiveness and the dignity of all? Join us this Sunday at 9 or 11am and bring a friend.
James - Practical Wisdom - James 1:19-27: Spiritual blindness can sneak in quietly—through unchecked anger, passive faith or careless words. In this deeply practical passage, James invites us to see clearly by receiving God's Word with humility and living it out with integrity. True religion isn't found in words alone but in a transformed life—one that listens carefully, speaks wisely and loves sacrificially. As we explore how rage, apathy and empty speech distort our vision, we'll also discover how God restores our sight through the Gospel of Jesus Christ—the One who fulfilled the law so we could walk in the freedom it gives.Bring a friend and join us at 9 or 11am this Sunday!
James - Practical Wisdom - James 1:9-18: Some of the best gifts I have ever received I bought for myself. That's just how my wife and I roll with presents. We know what we want so we'll buy it and then give the other the credit. That works for my marriage. Doesn't for Jesus. Every good and perfect thing I have ever experienced or been given comes from Him. I cannot self-produce a good thing and slap a “from God” sticker on it. Why? Because He's not only good but He's what good is. When we get together at church, we'll try to wrestle this out. Here's how: we're going to talk about the virtue humility as a pillar of the way of Jesus, we're going to break down temptation (we're going to wade into the messiness of it and get a good look at ourselves) and differentiate the words “trial” and “temptation”, so that: by God's good grace, we'll try to get a good look at God and see what this goodness is all about. See you then.
James - Practical Wisdom - James 1:1-8: We all face trials - but how do we face them well? In a world where hardship often leads to burnout or bitterness, James invites us to a different path: resilient faith. In this message, we discover how God forms endurance in us through a new identity, a new way of seeing our pain and a new kind of wisdom rooted in trust. James, the brother of Jesus, speaks from deep personal experience and costly faith. As we begin our journey through the book of James, we'll see how God shapes a people who don't just survive trials - but grow through them.Bring a friend and join us at 9 or 11am this Sunday. We'd love to see you there!

Kingdom Living - Matthew 21:33-46: Imagine a world without grace - where every mistake demands perfect justice and every failure is final. This Sunday, through Matthew 21:33-46, we'll encounter a God whose patience and grace confronts our pride and self-reliance. In this striking parable, Jesus reveals how easily we reject grace in pursuit of control, yet He persistently invites us back to Himself. Join us at 9 or 11am as we discover a God who relentlessly offers grace, even when it costs Him everything. Don't miss this invitation to experience true freedom in Christ. Bring a friend!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 21:23-32: Jesus was known for saying and doing some pretty outrageous things. After receiving the worship of the people on Sunday and flipping tables in the temple on Monday, the religious leaders intercept Jesus on Tuesday demanding He tell them "by what authority" He does these things. It's like asking, "what right do you have?" They would love for Jesus to say "by God's authority" because then they would have religious grounds to kill Him. But, Jesus graciously subverts their schemes with a brilliant question of His own and a subsequent parable. Confronted by Jesus' claim to authority that is above all, over all and for all; the religious leaders must decide how they will respond. We, too, must decide how we will respond to Jesus' awesome authority--rebel or receive.
Kingdom Living - Matthew 21:18-22: In Matthew 21:18-22, Jesus curses a fig tree - not out of frustration, but as a powerful symbol of fruitless lives. It's a warning against empty religious activity that lacks true transformation. The Christian life isn't just about looking the part; it's about bearing real, lasting fruit. Jesus calls us away from hypocrisy and into a life of faith, trust and persistent prayer. Join us this Sunday at 9 or 11am as we explore this challenging passage together. Bring a friend!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 21:12-17: Matthew 21:12-17 reveals the power of symbols and the radical medicine of Jesus' anger. In clearing the temple, He overturns tables and challenges our expectations by rejecting worldly distractions. His passionate act restores the temple as a house of prayer, healing the hurting and inviting even the lowly children to praise God. Jesus reminds us that we, too, are truly temples of the Holy Spirit, called to live in genuine worship. This striking message confronts our complacency and calls us to transform our lives. Join us at 9 or 11am as we explore His powerful example. Bring a friend!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 21:1-11: Join us this Sunday as we explore Matthew 21:1-11, where Jesus, the King on a Colt, redefines true leadership. In a world obsessed with power and strength, He offers gentle, compassionate authority; fulfilling ancient prophecy by entering Jerusalem on a humble colt. His triumphant entry challenges our ideas of power, inviting us to surrender control and embrace a Saviour who serves with humility and love. Discover how His unassuming approach transforms our understanding of leadership and discipleship. Experience a life-changing message of hope, peace, and redemptive grace. Join us at 9 or 11am. Bring a friend, too!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 20:29-34: This is a very simple story, at the very end of a series of passages that teach us about the tremendous grace of God and what it means to be great in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus flips the script on what people's understanding was of how one gains God's favour and blessing. It's not those who are rich and successful. It's not those of high standing or those with power and position. It's not even those who work hard or even keep all the commandments. It is the humble and the meek, the helpless children and the one who wanders. And in today's passage, it's the one who begs for mercy and asks for a miracle. What would you want from Jesus if you had the privilege of a moment with Him? Come and consider this question together this Sunday. Bring a friend!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 20:17-28: I asked some of the leading AI software to summarize the most common paths to greatness. They returned phrases like "innovation and creativity", "leadership and influence", "mastery of a skill", "overcoming adversity", "hard work", "continuous learning and growth" and so much more that has to do with bettering oneself. Yet, through the life and teachings of Jesus we discover that Godly Greatness is the inverse - it's about humility, sacrifice and servanthood that puts others first. This Sunday we'll explore a story about two of Jesus' first and closest followers who thought they had the makings of greatness, but ended up needing a change of ambition, appreciation and action.
Kingdom Living - Matthew 20:1-16: In Matthew 20:1-16, Jesus presents the scandal of grace - a story that challenges our sense of fairness by revealing a generous God who pays the same wage to all workers. This parable exposes the trap of seeking rewards based on merit and highlights the freedom found in His unconditional grace. Rather than bargaining with God, we are invited into a covenant where His love is lavish and unearned. Experience the true freedom in His grace! This Sunday, join us at 9 or 11am as we explore how God's radical generosity transforms lives and frees us from envy. Bring a friend!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 19:13-15: Jesus calls us to a childlike faith - humble, dependent and trusting. In Matthew 19:13-15, He welcomes children, revealing His heart for the next generation. How can we embrace this kingdom perspective in our lives today? Join us this Sunday as we discover what it means to receive the kingdom like a child.Join us at 9 or 11am. Bring a friend!
Kingdom Living - Matthew 19:16-30: Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, "I look good," only to walk into a social setting and have somebody tell you that there's something in your teeth, a stain on your pants or a size sticker left on your shirt? This week we're exploring the Biblical story commonly called "The Rich Young Ruler" and it, too, is a story of a man who had looked closely at himself in the "mirror" of God's law, but was so blinded by his earthly treasure and all that he thought was "good" about himself, that he had grown oblivious to the broken state of his relationship with God. Join us on Sunday as we discover how Jesus graciously offers us the True Treasure of a right relationship with God.
Kingdom Living - Matthew 19:1-12: What does it mean to truly live as God designed? In Matthew 19:1-12, Jesus invites us to aim for a life of virtue, beauty and love - not just avoiding failure but cultivating what is good and true. This Sunday, we'll unpack His vision for human flourishing, the challenge of marriage and the freedom found in God's grace. Whether you're navigating relationships, personal struggles or big questions, there's hope and purpose in Jesus. Join us at 9 or 11am to explore what it means to thrive in God's design for humanity. Bring a friend!

With All of Your Heart - Proverbs 3: Are you a trusting person? That's not always an easy question to answer, is it? Trust often depends on who - or what - we're being asked to trust. Let's face it, there are some people you wouldn't trust as far as you could throw them! Trust is shaped by what we know and have experienced. This Sunday we'll explore what it means to trust in the Lord with all our hearts. You might think it's simple - after all, who could be more trustworthy than God? And yet, living with the kind of all-embracing trust He asks for requires more than just agreement in our minds. It calls for an active, intentional relationship with Him. Join us this Sunday at 9 and 11 AM as we encounter the God who invites us to trust Him completely - so that He can make our paths straight in 2025 and beyond.
With All of Your Heart - Proverbs 3:1-4: I think all of us have done a bit, or perhaps a lot, of growing up this past year. For some it may be physical; you need new shoes, your pants are too short, you've lost some teeth, you've lost some hair! For others it may be in other areas of life; a new job, a new hobby, a major milestone, a significant event, a family crisis, a new relationship, a new perspective. Whatever it may be, it's hard to argue that any of us are exactly the same person as we were 12 months ago. And as we look ahead to 2025, how do we want to enter these next 12 months?Every year we're given one January 1st, or one first Sunday of the year. How are we going to posture or position ourselves heading into 2025? As a teaching team, we've thought through this question and what we'd like to present to you is the challenge of seeking God, worshiping God and serving God, WITH ALL YOUR HEART. What would it look like if God had our whole hearts, all of us, for the next 365 days? For the rest of our lives? Wouldn't that be an amazing thing? So over the next four weeks we will explore what this might look like in our lives, and at Foothills, as we pursue God WITH ALL YOUR HEART.
Faith That Follows - Matthew 18:21-35: As we draw to the close of the current year, we also come to the conclusion of our teaching and consideration of Matthew 18. Over past weeks, Jesus has taught us about pride, power, purpose and relational problems in the church. This week we consider life in God's kingdom when it comes to pardon and forgiveness. As Canadians, we are known for continually saying ‘Sorry' and offering apology for any inconvenience we may cause another person, no matter how trivial it may be. Truly learning to be ‘sorry' is a whole other issue that we will unpack from God's perspective, and ours, this weekend. There's no better way to start 2025 than with a ‘clean slate,' free from all spiritual and emotional indebtedness. Come, let's learn together this Sunday through the teaching of God's Word. See you Sunday. Bring some family and a friend!
Witnesses of Christmas - Luke 1:26-45: Even though God's people waited with expectation for generations for the coming of the Messiah, it still came as a surprise when God chose to break into the life of a young woman in Nazareth. A story of an angel message, a promise fulfilled and a miracle baby may not seem to have much to do with your story and mine. Yet the Good News continues to be that God breaks into our lives with His life-giving presence as we surrender to Him.Join us this Sunday, as we sing about, reflect on and receive through Communion the gracious gift of Jesus life given to us.

How good are you at pointing out the faults in others? Hold that thought, pray over it and let's meet together in the Word this Sunday. Summer with the Psalms - Psalm 62: Psalm 62 was written by King David during one of his most challenging seasons of life - when everything around him was turmoil, when people had turned on him and when fleeing for his life. Instead of trusting in human power and wisdom, David pens a powerful encouragement to both himself, and to God's people, to trust GOD so exclusively, so completely and so consistently that our souls can, in fact, REST - literally, WAIT IN SILENCE for God to act on our behalf.
Summer with the Psalms - Psalm 100: This Sunday at 10am, we'll delve into Psalm 100, exploring “The Practice of Passion.” Together, we'll uncover how to cultivate genuine joy and worship, even in challenging times. Learn how this discipline not only transforms our hearts but also serves as a powerful witness to others. Summer with the Psalms - Psalm 13: The Psalms give us language for every situation in life. Praise for God's greatness, thanksgiving for His goodness, petition in our need and lament in our pain and sorrow. At times I am shocked by the audacity of the Psalmist in lament and wonder, “Am I really allowed to say that to God?” Yet, I am also comforted by the invitation, permission and model the Psalms give to express our most raw and real emotions in the safe presence of God. Join us at 10am as we explore a prayer of lament found in Psalm 13. Let's invite God's Word to tutor us to trust His unfailing love in the midst of all life throws at us.

Summer with the Psalms - Psalm 84: Clickbait: the practice of writing sensationalized or misleading headlines to attract clicks on a piece of content. Are you attracted to this piece of content yet? How to be happy is a somewhat ambiguous title. How do you be happy? And how do you know that the person who writes a book or a sermon on how to be happy actually knows what they're talking about. Are they happy? Are they a trustworthy authority on the matter? None of what I have said matters, because the real question is, are you happy? When I watch our world through Instagram, Facebook, news and other feeds, I notice a lack of joy in our world. So what could Jesus possibly have to offer? Better question: is there hope for us with joyless souls? I think so.
Summer with the Psalms - Psalm 2: This Sunday our Summer in the Psalms series begins. We are taking a summer road trip, stopping in six locations within this beautiful book of poetry and prayer. At each stop we will encounter and respond to God as He reveals Himself to us and gives us fresh language to engage with Him. We begin with Psalm 2 where we encounter God, ruler over all. He is opposed to the injustice that results from ignoring His “anointed” and following our own rules. As we consider this Psalm, we may see a bit of ourselves in those who prefer autonomy over submission. How will we respond to the invitation to serve the Lord and "kiss His Son?" Join us at 10am as we begin our journey together.
Make Space - Psalm 63: It's one thing to take a look at our Calendar and make space or look around our Table and do the same. But what about our Soul? Although the idea might seem more abstract, it's undeniable that we fill our souls with many different things. Psalm 63 helps us to put words to this idea of examining the contents of our soul by looking at what we crave, what makes us content and where we find our confidence.
Make Space - Galatians 6:1-10: Life is better together...or is it? Join us this Sunday as we explore Galatians 6:1-10, addressing loneliness in our fast-paced world. We'll discuss creating meaningful connections, sharing burdens and fostering a supportive community. Discover how making space at the table for one another can lead to genuine transformation. See you at 10am. Bring a friend and let's build a true community together! Also, don't forget this week is our Stampede BBQ where we get to experience community together and invite our neighbourhood to come on by too!
Make Space - Mark 1:32-39: When I was invited to teach on making space for God in our calendar, I did what anybody would do - I checked my calendar. It soon became clear that I would be teaching from the delicious irony of a very full weekend - family would be visiting, I had booked myself a contract with my second job and my wife would be out of town! Life can often cause us to wonder just how we are supposed to make space for God amidst all the other demands of life. When it came to making space for God in life's calendar, Jesus was intentional because He knew it was integral to His life and ministry. As apprentices of Jesus, how can our lives better resemble His in this area?
Deeper - Matthew 16:1-12: Do you recognize the symptoms of spiritual illness? Join us this Sunday as we delve into spiritual wellness, seeking genuine transformation through faith and humility. See you at 10am - bring a friend and experience the renewal of the heart together!

This Sunday, we'll discuss loving the outsider, the power of prayer and the significance of genuine faith. We'll explore the unexpected places where faith is found and how Jesus meets us there.
