HardLore is joined by COMBUST vocalist Andrew Vacante, the self proclaimed, but unopposed king of Staten Island hardcore fresh off of their highly acclaimed sophomore LP, "BELLY OF THE BEAST." Andrew finally joins us for a proper full length episode, documenting his origin from middle school heavy metal hesher singing in bands, to his early days DIY screenprinting in a basement, touring extensively in Vice (NY), the many bands that lead him to finally starting Combust, touring Europe (six times), forming his skills as a songwriter and breaking down their new record. This marks Andrew's 3rd formal appearance on HardLore but his first proper episode, we knew going in that would be a banger and he immediately delivered. Enjoy and listen to Combust!!! Jesus' Command to Love: The Hardest and Holiest Calling Jesus gives us His commandment to “love one another,” . . . . . . emphasizing that true love, as exemplified by Jesus, is the most difficult yet most essential commandment. Rather than focusing on religious rituals like daily prayer or tithing, Jesus calls for radical, sacrificial love modeled after his own. The Homily underscores that love is only possible through the Holy Spirit and involves humility, equality, and self-giving. The Early Church It also recounts the early Church's struggle with integrating Gentile believers, particularly at the Council of Jerusalem, where leaders chose not to impose the full burden of Jewish law on Gentile converts . . . except out of love and respect for others' consciences. The Church's journey through subsequent theological disputes (e.g., Jesus' divinity and nature) illustrates that doctrinal clarity often takes centuries, but division still persists today between “conservatives” and “progressives.” The Homily calls for unity in the Church through love empowered by the Holy Spirit, rather than through labels or legalism Listen to this Meditation Media. How does a parent stand back up when every corner of home echoes with grief? For EMT, educator, and loving mother Larissa Dagley, tragedy began at her teen son Cody's shooting incident—a moment that left Cody drowning in relentless nightmares and bullying for the remainder of his life. Overwhelmed by guilt and depression, Cody took his own life almost 2 years later, plunging Larissa into a darkness so crushing, she feared her heart would literally break. Yet in the midst of excruciating grief, Larissa trusted in a Savior who heals more than sins: He mends shattered souls and whispers hope into the loneliest nights. In this heart-wrenching episode of Latter-day Lights, Larissa recounts tender mercies, spiritual impressions, and Cody's messages from the afterlife that proved Christ never left her side. Her story offers hard-won lessons on suicide awareness, the power of compassionate words, and the healing reach of the Atonement. If you or a loved one is wrestling with depression or suicidal ideation, Larissa's witness reminds us that no grief is too deep, no mistake too final, and no family too wounded for the Savior's unfailing light. Tune in and learn how, even after the worst pain imaginable, Christ can guide us from storm-tossed anguish to a sunrise of lasting peace.*** Please SHARE Larissa's story and help us spread hope and light to others. ***To WATCH this episode, visit: https://youtu.be/7KzVWU4Oi80 -----Keep updated with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/latter.day.lights/Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/latterdaylightsAlso, if you have a faith-promoting or inspiring story, or know someone who does, please let us know by going to https://www.latterdaylights.com and reaching out to us.#LDSPodcast #ChristianStories #latterdaylights

In this compelling episode, Granger Smith sits down with apologist and author Greg Koukl (Tactics, Street Smarts) for an in-depth conversation about faith, fame, and how asking the right questions can open hearts and minds to truth. Greg shares his journey from cultural rebellion in the 1960s to a conviction of Christ’s truth in 1973—not through arguments, but through persistent love. This episode is for anyone who feels like they're in a weird place—not quite here, not quite there. We're talking about the awkward in-between: when school isn't quite over, summer hasn't really started, and your rhythms feel like they're barely hanging on. We're unpacking why this part of the year can feel especially chaotic, how we're trying to reset without starting over, and why it's okay to not have it all figured out. If you're craving peace in the middle of the mess, you're not alone—and this one's for you. Closing Liturgy / Prayer: God of the in-between, When our days blur, our rhythms falter, and our minds race to the next season— Help us pause. Teach us to breathe in what is, not just long for what's next. Remind us that grace lives here, too: In the undone to-do lists. In the almosts and not-quites. May we find you not in perfection, But in presence. Not in control, But in connection. And may we walk gently, even here— In the middle of the middle. Lee Strobel was a hard-nosed journalist and proud atheist living for pleasure—until his wife's sudden conversion sent him on a mission to disprove Christianity once and for all. But the deeper he dug into the historical record—the eyewitnesses, the empty tomb, the early creeds—the more the evidence pointed not to myth, but to fact. In this episode, Strobel shares what shook his skepticism and how his newest book uncovers chilling accounts of angel sightings and Muslim conversions through supernatural visions—reminding us that God is constantly moving, and the unseen realm is more active than we think.NEW: Join our exclusive Rose Report community! https://lilaroseshow.supercast.com - We'll have BTS footage, ad-free episodes, monthly AMA, and early access to our upcoming guests.A big thanks to our partner, EWTN, the world's leading Catholic network! When the mission of Jesus becomes greater than our fear of being known, we begin to see lives transformed through ordinary obedience. Join us every Tuesday at 7 in the LSM building!

The death of Pope Francis has set in train one of the most unique contests in world politics: the Papal conclave. Cardinals will vote again and again until one name achieves a two-thirds majority and becomes pope. Voting is not the conclave's only similarity to secular politics. The prospects of victory for frontrunners Antonio Tagle from the Philippines and current Vatican secretary of state Pietro Parolin have declined in recent days, thanks to the emergence of negative stories about the two cardinals. But how do the 133 cardinals, many of whom do not know each other, align behind a particular candidate?Venezuelan journalist Edgar Beltrán is Rome Correspondent for The Pillar, a US-based Catholic news organisation. He joins Hugh to explain the behind-the-scenes politics, friendships and rivalries that play a big role in the selection of the next pope, why it is possible this conclave of cardinals may struggle to reach a conclusion and what happens if the votes remain tied.
