Is it time to take a step forward in your faith? In this message, Pastor Josh Husmann teaches how the disciples were sent out to live on mission and how you are called to help those in need.
Ps. Lee Eden shares a message titled, "The Power of Christ Compels Me".
“For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15) The love of Christ showed for us by dying for our sins motivates us to do great things for Him. In seeing how His love was manifested, we ought to respond in the same ways.

Has this ever happened to you? You go to engage a decision-maker. There's something specific you want from them. And you start laying out your case and you can tell you're losing them. They're not engaging. They're kind of glazing over and you're struggling to figure out what the problem is. You're giving them your very best stuff, telling them all the key details of your work. And the more you talk, the more they glaze over. Or they pay polite attention, but when you're done, they don't have any questions. And they just say, well, thanks for coming. Appreciate your visiting. And that's it. While there could be several causes for this, one of the most common is the key mistake of falling into TMI syndrome. Giving decision makers way more information and content than they want, need or can absorb. Treating all facts as if they are equally valuable or important. In a vacuum that might be true. But in the context of engaging and influencing decision makers, it not only isn't true, it will actually undermine your most persuasive points. What we have to do is get to what is most relevant in this context, in this moment. That are exactly the points the decision maker needs to hear right now. The good news is there's a simple framework that will help you do this. And start getting better results from your messaging. In this episode, we share:The four-question framework that will help you identify exactly what your decisionmaker needs to hear from you right nowWhy the things you've been taught about how to add value with information will actually sabotage your effectiveness with decisionmakersThe common trap that we can fall into as subject matter experts, when engaging decisionmakersHow to identify and weed out TMI elements from your messagingHow to use story to deliver your high-value message elements in the most compelling wayLinks:Episode 13 – How to Use Story to Create Breakthrough Messaging with DecisionmakersEpisode 57 – How to Turn Data into a Story that Engages and Compels a DecisionmakerIf you found value in this episode, please share it with other progressive nonprofit leaders. What is it that moves you to action? Compels you to see a need and then do something about it? What hits you deep in the heart and prompts you to make a difference? How is it that some people can see an injustice and walk right by, and others simply can't? Is it our conscience that reminds us of what is right? Or could it be something more? The scripture verse we focus in on today comes from 1 Kings 3: 4-12 (NLT)Our Faith Your Day Declaration! Jesus, thank you so much for loving me in the way that you do! You designed me on purpose for a purpose. I want to live to my full potential today, with a mindset that honors you and a soul that seeks to know you better. Jesus I know that you are the way, the truth and the life, and I ask you to guide me and reveal to me what it is that you want to show me here, have me experience here, and learn from this season. Help mold me and shape me into the best version of me. I will live today as your vessel ready to receive your word, respond to your promptings, and pour out your overflowing love to those all around me. Please allow your thoughts to become my thoughts, your ways to become my ways and your will to become what I truly desire. Jesus if you are in it I want it and if you are not I don't! I make myself available to you and I choose to faith this day of life! I am so grateful to be your girl! In Jesus name Amen! Tell me if this sounds familiar. You have some key pieces of data that you know should speak to your decision maker. It's obvious to you that these data points basically scream, our stuff solves your problem, and it solves it in a big way with a big impact. But then you share it with the decision maker and they don't really see those connections. They don't see the significance. They don't connect it to their problems and concerns. And you're left wondering why they can't see the obvious. Maybe they just don't care. The problem you're up against is that statistics and data are typically the least compelling way to convey important information. All the experts who've been telling you that you have to have [00:02:00] data aren't wrong. They just left out a really important detail, which is your data won't help you if you don't communicate it in a way that engages and compels. In this episode, we share:Why decisionmakers rarely perceive the significance of most data you show themThe one common mistake that could be causing you to communicate your data ineffectivelyWhy less is more when it comes to dataHow to take your big impressive numbers and bring them down to human scale so decisionmakers can easily visualize and understand the meaningHow to “do the math” for decisionmakers so they can see how your data mean something important to themHow to connect your data directly to the decisionmaker's most pressing problems, and show how you solve those problemsIf you found value in this episode, please share it with other progressive nonprofit leaders. And I'd be grateful if you would leave a rating and review on Apple podcasts, which will help even more people find out about this podcast. Thanks!

The Christian life is like a glass of chocolate milk! The fact that so few Christians know why, is the reason multitudes are NOT accepting Christ. Non-Christians don't see something in us that COMPELS them to want what we have. Think about it: Do non-believers want what YOU have? Do YOU even want what you have? When you wake up in the middle of the night, gripped by fear, is that what non-believers want? Is that what YOU want? If you answered “No” to any of those questions, you need to understand how the Christian life is like a glass of chocolate milk. #faith #worldview Brightmedia.org twitter.com/GodIsTheIssue GOD, Who Are You Anyway? by Bill Bright, with Brad Bright brightmedia.org/resources Time Stamps: 00:02 – 01:10 Why don't people want what Christians have? 01:43 – 02:40 Why the Rock sank 03:04 – 03:48 Why isn't the Christian life working? 03:50 – 05:01 Chocolate Milk and the Holy Spirit 05:10 – 05:44 Do you struggle with this? 06:44 – 07:33 Problem at Wheaton College 07:34 – 08:06 Cru staff and chocolate milk 08:26 – 09:01 Bill Bright wasn't always that way 09:01 – 09:55 Peter, Bill Bright and you
Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 518 of the Chasing Tone Podcast Blake has been standing to work for a long time and it is energizing him so the guys discuss the merits of office furniture. Yes, you read that correctly. This turns into a conversation about how you apply Tolex correctly as Richard thinks about building his own amplifier. Do you wait before you switch on the stand-by switch on your amplifier? The guys ponder this age old question.Richard invokes a hellish rebuke from Brian when he tries to convince him that MIDI is the future for amplifier control and a robust and bizarre conversation ensues. Richard has been thinking about digital modelling and Brian is not happy with him, but he and Blake also have some new gear and it somehow involves the Insane Clown Posse. Richard is also worried about taking his favorite combo amplifier to gigs until his personal amp tech intervenes... What size pick do you use when you play guitar? This question provokes a variety of responses from the chaps and Brian desires a new sponsorship. Speaking of Brians, Brian May has just made a not particularly surprising announcement about a collaboration with Gibson. Richard makes bizarre confessions about his follicular obsessions. He is a mean and awful person and tries to explain British humor - badly. In today's sermon, we see the call and power of the Gospel. In addition to proclaiming Christ, we show our faith in Christ in how we love and live in harmony with one another. We are to work quietly and tend to our own affairs. We hope this message blesses you in the Lord. Originally June 9th, 2024. Hank Atchison. Covenant Church. Tuscaloosa, AL.
Welcome to Colonial Outcasts. This a ceasefire-related episode. It is currently Sunday June 2nd. Things are going to move fast so we're going to keep it short-ish and jump right in. Elina Xenophontos, regular political analyst calling in from Cyprus, is here with us today. We're going to talk about the Biden ceasefire proposal, Obama's passive-voiced endorsement of said proposal, Netanyahu's seeming rejection of said proposal, and now soft-floated watercolor talk that the Israeli government might actually accept it. At 6:30 am Central Daylight Time NBC published that “An aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had agreed to the framework for President Joe Biden's plan to bring an end to the war in Gaza, though he said it was “not a good deal.” Biden announced Friday that Israel had proposed a three-part plan that would ultimately lead to a complete cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, as well as the release of all hostages who have been held there for the last eight months. It's “time for this war to end,” Biden said. It wasn't a plan that Israel proposed, but we'll get into that.

There are two terrible ways that self-centered parents can wound you in the way you have relationships – and in particular, when they didn't take an interest or support the unique little person that you were, and they didn't help you learn to detect and say NO to mistreatment. And if this happened to you, you may find yourself struggling to have friends, and when you do get a friend, you'll tolerate terrible treatment from them – and end up believing it's your job is to hide that it hurts you. In fact, this disconnect can prevent you from seeing that this is a bad person and you need to get away, but your TRAUMA will tell you the problem is you. 614 For The Love OF Christ Compels Us, A Guided Christian Meditation on 2 Corinthians 5:12-15 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation 2 Corinthians 5:12-15 NIV 12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us,so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. 13 If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. NRSVUE 12 We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you an opportunity to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast in outward appearance and not in the heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.15 And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves but for the one who for their sake died and was raised. Meditation: Recently I was listening to a therapist discuss an idea where he was asking people to consider different parts of themselves and how those work against each other. He then talked about the value of learning to focus on the center “empty” self. I think this idea misses something valuable but harnesses spiritual ideas that are felt. As we sit in silence before the Lord we learn what Paul teaches here. We live for Christ. The thing we seek in stillness and silence is not only some empty version of ourselves. I disagree with that characterization. What we seek is the nature of the God of Peace which is inside us. When you sit in silence, The value of the Spirit of God is not a psychological idea, yet it is the thing that most reliably produces emotional healing. The love of God urges us on. When we experience the love of God we are unity with the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the salvation God offers through that and as well the love and connection that we gain by uniting with that love of God which God put inside us. Pause now to reflect and experience the love of God within us Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Final Question: If you consider the invitation and command to persevere in the faith, what change in your life does that bring to your mind?
