ALEX WHITTIER (Nocturnal / Denver) An up-and-comer on the Denver DJ circuit, Alex Whittier (@alexwhittier) has quickly carved out a niche for himself in the Mile High. As the lead curator for Nocturnal (@nocturnal-denver), he has created a platform for bleeding-edge techno and house, while his work with CELE helps bridge the divide between the dance floor and more esoteric sonic aesthetics. Nocturnal's monthly residency at The Black Box is always a pleasure for those interested in exploring the shadowy fringes of club music while the sporadic after parties delve deeper into the dance floor atmosphere. While pulling records for this podcast, Alex aimed to focus on what he might play at a Deep Club party. It had been a while since he played something a bit slower, and for Alex, this mix was a welcomed challenge that resulted in an hour of music that we think would pair well with a cocktail on the porch under the sun.
