so i’ve been hanging out with this baby dog for 10 days. i’ve never done anything like this before. basically been with her 24 hours a day except i left her at home twice to get groceries. otherwise we’ve been thick as thieves as they say. getting into trouble. not really. we’ve just be lying around a lot, we’ve gone on walks and hikes, we went to the marina, we smelled a lot of stuff and generally just had a cute time. she loves to cuddle and she usually just wants to be close to me. i’m on the couch right now and she’s snuggled in next to me. but she also has these weird moments where she whines and sings and barks at me and tries to bite my face and i have no idea what she wants. it usually happens at night so i think she just gets cranky like a baby gets cranky when it’s tired. rebecca wrote me a little handbook but i had to learn some tricks on my own. like, she gets excited when i’m putting my shoes on and tries to bite my shoe laces and fingers so i figured out that i should put her harness on first so she knows that she’s coming with. then i can get ready in peace. i sing to her while she’s eating and rebecca said i don’t have to do that, but i think it helps to get her to eat all her food hehe. there’s so much more that i can share but i’ll just leave it at - someday i hope to have a dog friend of my own. it’s just felt so good to have this little buddy, and i think it’s mutual based on the fact that her face is snuggled into my leg as i type this.DOWNLOAD RECORDINGsubscribe to the podcast here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/5432fun00:00 (intro by omar)00:20 YUPS “Multiple Measures” Man on the Moon Man on the Moon02:34 Matt Bachmann “Wave Hello” Walking Preference05:04 Paper Castles “The Junk” Acceptionalism08:08 Kythira “Change My Mind” Cut Through11:01 night moth “the arnold house” homebody14:37 French Vanilla “Suddenly” How Am I Not Myself?18:08 Student cello “to be there” dark cloud o'er head21:05 Spencer Radcliffe & Everyone Else “Floss For The Future” Hot Spring25:48 Mega Bog “For the Old World” Dolphine29:43 Halfsour “Slug” Sticky33:06 HIDEOUT “I Got Your Message” So Many Hoops, So Little Time35:58 So Totally “attention” in the shape of…39:48 Vivienne Styg “RICH MAN’S COMMODITY” ROSE OF TEXAS ep43:15 Field Medic “i was wrong” fade into the dawn45:52 Scrap Brain “Crybaby” A Journey Into Madness47:52 Future of the left “grass parade” the peace & truce of future of the left49:38 Dina Maccabee “Could You Be Right” The Sharpening Machine52:23 Supermilk “Lycanthrope” Rare Delusions

From Jan. 2010: They play, they sing and make lovely, original and uncategorizable music. The four women of the Real Vocal String Quartet combine classical backgrounds with influences from across the musical spectrum: pop, folk, jazz and international… In the first part of the program, RVSQ founder and violinist Irene Sazer and violist Dina Maccabee discuss the ensemble's distinctive sound and special chemistry as we listen to tracks from their recent CD. Then, Irene and Dina are joined by the group's other half, violinist Alisa Rose and cellist Jessica Ivry, to perform some new pieces they're working on.

Michael Musika is fascinating songwriter living here in San Francisco. He doesn’t play out often enough, so we’re lucky to have charmed him in to playing for our 6th episode. He's joined here by an amazing band: Indianna Hale, Sleepy Todd, Matt Adams, Dina Maccabee, and Kacey Johansing.
