D.C. United is fully in their offseason, with all the rumors that come with it, and Filibuster is hear to talk about it. Jason, Adam, and Ben talk about the team's coaching search and our opinions on the rumored names, as well as the late breaking news about a homegrown signing. We also express our disappointment and anger at some tweets by Frederic Brillant, and hope that he can come to a place of learning. Finally, we discuss some of the bonkers playoff action that has been happening. Give it a listen! 0:00 Intro 9:56 D.C. D.C. United is back in action with the #MLSisBack Tournament and it was a CRAZY finish. Your Loyal Crew returns with rapid reactions, a breakdown of the game, and thoughts on the tournament so far! Claudia Pagan joins the show with some insight from the MLS Bubble in Walt Disney World, and we listen live to Frederic Brillant, Pipa Higuain, and Ben Olsen's postgame press conferences.
After scoring the game winning goal against Inter Miami, D.C. United veteran Frederic Brillant, like almost everyone else, has spent the past two months at home. During that time, he's spent time with family, stayed sharp with DCU's tactical Zoom sessions, mentored the younger United players, while being mentored by Nolan Sheldon on the nuances of coaching. The veteran has also had time to ponder his future in the sport as a player and coach. Also, Fred and Roche break down his ultimate French 5v5 team and look for possible weaknesses and alternatives.
In this episode of Filibuster, Jason, Adam, and Ben break down all the D.C. United news of the week, including the re-signing of Bill Hamid and Frederic Brillant and whether or not the team is interested in signing Joao Plata. We also break down whether or not we are worried that D.C. United has made a bunch of signings yet. Finally, we continue with our season reviews, deciding whether or not we want players back next season. Give it a listen! 0:00 Intro 10:05 D.C. D.C. United lost their umpteenth frustrating game this season, and Jason, Adam, and Ben walk you throw it. We talk about the contrasting games that Frederic Brillant and Yamil Asad had, and ponder if Ben Olsen could change up his starters to try and get better results. We observe how Ben Olsen doesn't really bench players like he used to a few years ago, and we have to talk about the terrible game that Allen Chapman had (even if it didn't change the outcome much). We end the first segment by talking about the LA Galaxy game tomorrow night and wondering if their lineup changes have been the key to their better play recently. In the second segment we talk about D.C. United's newest forward, Wayne Rooney, and break down what his impact means for the rest of the team. We throw out a couple of different formations into which he might fit, and tease out what those formations would mean for the rest of the players on the field. Give it a listen!
The Filibuster trio is back together, and not a moment too soon. Jason, Adam, and Ben discuss MLS Cup, the final game of the 2017 season, and we talk about Toronto FC's formation switch and the great game of Michael Bradley. We wonder if Seattle Sounders could have done anything sooner and better, and whether or not this TFC team had the best season in MLS history. In the second segment we get one of Adam's Fun Time News Roundup Times!, in which we discuss the signing of Frederic Brillant and Darren Mattocks, the state of the team's international roster spots, and the re-signing of Steve Clark in goal. We also discuss what Eryk Williamson's best position is and whether or not he will sign for D.C. United, as well as the expansion draft and the Re-Entry draft. Give it a listen!

Welcome to Episode 135 of the NYCFC Nation Podcast. The last time we recorded was a week ago when NYC was about to face two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. In the first match up against a handicapped Toronto FC, NYC played poorly and ended tied 2-2 giving up a second goal during stoppage time. Then on Saturday, with Maxime Chanot not playing, Yangel Herrera given a double yellow by the 12th minute, David Villa and Frederic Brillant scored goals to take a 2-1 win against, at that time, the first place Chicago Fire Soccer Club. We wrap up the show with a preview of the next match up against Toronto FC and throughout the podcast we throw in many of our Nation questions.
