For the Glory KC is back with the 156th episode of the show! The headline for Kansas City soccer this week is the World Cup! The FIFA World Cup draw went down last Friday with games announced on Saturday. Kansas City get six games in the 2026 World Cup, and the first four matchups are now known:1st: Argentina vs. Algeria on June 16th at 8PM 2nd: Ecuador vs Curacao, June 20th at 7PM3rd: Tunisia vs. Netherlands, June 25th at 6PM4th: Algeria vs. Austria, June 27th at 9PMKC also host a July 3rd round of 32 game and a July 11th quarterfinal, that could feature Messi vs. Ronaldo. If Argentina and Portugal win their groups and their first two knockout games then the biggest game in the world (before the final) will be in Kansas City. That's all assuming Messi even plays. And that they are both healthy. It's a long-shot, but it could happen! The United States Men's National team also found out their group, and it's quite winnable. They start off against Paraguay and also play Australia and the winner of the UEFA playoff between Turkiye, Slovakia, Romania and Kosovo. The USMNT could even play in Kansas City if everything falls the right way, but part of that is them ending up third in their group, which would be a disappointment. Sporting Kansas City are still top of mind with a few big moments this week. First, Kerry Zavagnin officially parted ways with the club after 26 years. Sheena and I give our thoughts and then we share the rumor of two potential replacement coaching candidates. Raphael Wicky, who is a rumored finalist, is who we know the most about after this time with the Chicago Fire.In other Sporting KC news, they have a rumored goalkeeper trade. It'll be the team's fourth keeper if Stefan Cleveland officially arrives from Austin FC. He's never been a long-term starter, but at 31-years-old he can push John Pulskamp and share what he's learned behind some of the best keepers in the league while playing for the Seattle Sounders and Austin FC.In KC Current news, the team signed new two-year contracts with Mary Long and Katie Scott, officially said goodbye to goalkeeper Laurel Ivory and saw their former star defender, Hailie Mace, sign with the Orlando Pride. They also had a less than stellar showing in the World Sevens Football competition over the weekend. In the Digital Crawl, we hit on a few more topics, including:Trinity Rodman possible leaving the NWSLMLS Cup between Inter Miami and the Vancouver WhitecapsKS Astras win their MASLW openerFormer Swope Park Rangers coach, Marc dos Santos, gets a big upgradeHere is a rundown of topics and start times:World Cup and Kansas City - Sporting KC Coaching Update - SKC Round-Up including a rumored trade - KC Current World Sevens and more - She Scores - Digital Crawl - Upcoming GameKS Astras vs. Iowa Raptors, Sat. This week on The Nikki & Brie Show, everyone's asking the same question: Is Nikki starring in a holiday movie?! Not quite—but her new Google AI Shopping Ad has people convinced she's headlining a Hallmark film. Nikki spills the behind-the-scenes on playing “Holly,” starring opposite Taylor Kinney (yes, from Chicago Fire) and getting mothered by Donna Kelce! From cut kissing scenes to turtlenecks, Nikki shares what really happened on set and why Hallmark might need to give her and Brie a call ASAP.Then it's time to get unhinged in the “Hear Me Out” game: a hilarious round of unexpected crush confessions. Animated characters? Nikki's team Shrek. Fictional villains? Brie's trying to fix The Joker. And don't even get them started on hot UPS drivers and flight attendants. They're revealing who gives “dad vibes,” which professions are sneakily sexy, and the weird scenarios that shouldn't be hot but are (spoiler: getting coffee orders wrong is a BIG no).Nikki & Brie just might be ready for their rom-com era. Hey, soccer fans! Major League Soccer and the Chicago Fire have released their 2026 season schedule. Listen in as Nick gives you the breakdown of the season, the matches he's highlighted, and what the Men in Red's non-conference opponents look like. The Fire's 2026 season has a long home stretch, a long away stretch, and featured matches against the Philadelphia Union, Vancouver Whitecaps, and Inter Miami. We also see the Fire host Sporting Kansas City and the Portland Timbers, while travelling to Seattle for some cross-continental action. Nick also gives a preliminary scouting report on Fire transfer target Mbekezeli Mbokazi. The 20 year old South African centerback is primed to jump from the South African Premiership, prove himself at a higher level, and possibly leap to a top league in Europe. For now, though, he's expected to sign with Chicago and provide a much-needed defensive piece as the club is likely to move on from Chase Gasper and Omar Gonzalez, and Jack Elliott's future is in doubt. Which matches are you most excited for? How do you think the Chicago Fire's schedule looks? Are you in on signing Mbekezeli Mbokazi? Tune in and join the conversation! NYCFC head into Subaru Park dealing with injuries to Andrés Perea and Alonso Martínez, as well as a suspension to Aiden O'Neill. Todd is joined by NYCFC Radio PxP commentator, host of The Coaching Academy on SiriusXM, and one half of The Sick Podcast – NYCFC Views, Glenn Crooks. In this episode, they discuss NYCFC's injuries and suspension, the club's strong road form, and which player(s) need to step up for each side to advance to the Eastern Conference Final. Hey, soccer fans! The post-season is roster build season! Clubs all around Major League Soccer are releasing players, extending contracts, and exercising options on big names and depth pieces. While the Chicago Fire made news signing Andre Franco and Anton Saletros, there are a now a number of available players with MLS experience the Men in Red should consider evaluating. Would you like Giacomo Vrioni backing up Hugo Cuypers? How about Sean Johnson returngin to Chicago to back up Chris Brady? Could Bryce Duke fit in as a start for Gregg Berhalter's style of play? Nick also discussed the terrible allegations against Philadelphia Union Sporting Director Ernst Tanner. Accused - again and by more sources - of homphobic, misogynistic, and racist comments, MLS has re-opened their investigation into Tanner. Meanwhile, the club has placed him on leave. Chris Armas is a 2025 inductee into the US Soccer Hall of Fame. During his playing career, he played 12 seasons in Major League Soccer for the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire, and was a 5x MLS Best XI selection, an MLS and US Open Cup Champion, and played 66 games for the US National Team. The 2000 US Soccer Player of the Year and 2005 MLS Comeback Player of the Year, untimely injuries derailed his inclusion in the 2002 and 2006 US World Cup teams. After retireing from playing, Chris began a coaching career that has taken him to assistant coach roles at Manchester United and Leeds United, as well as MLS Head Coaching stops with the NY Red Bulls (2018 Supporters Shield winners), Toronto FC, and in 2024-2025 the Colorado Rapids. In 2024, he led the Rapids to a remarkable improvement of 23 points, finishing 7th after finishing dead last in 2023. For this he was named an MLSCoach of the Year finalist. In 2025, the Rapids missed out on the playoffs on the final day, and Armas and the Rapids agreed to part ways. In our conversation today, Chris and John discuss the importance of building strong relationships with athletes, establishing trust, and helping each player get better. We discuss his time in England, meeting Sir Alex Ferguson, the British press, and his time in Colorado including the the joys of 2024 and the heartbreak of missing out on the 2025 players due to a stoppage time goal. You will see that Chris is humble, authentic, and driven to keep coaching and learning, and its a wonderful conversation to understand the humanity needed to coach at the top level. The Philadelphia Phillies are in the midst of their offseason, and there are questions about how this team will look in 2026. What might happen with talent in the outfield? Might the Phillies front office spend big again to keep the team's postseason hopes alive? This week, Tim Kelly from OnPattison.com joined the pod and dove into what we can expect from the Phillies during this offseason and what the future holds for this team. It was a great discussion! But first, the guys dove into some Eagles storylines as this team is 7-2 and atop the NFC. The impact of Jaelan Phillips in his first game as an Eagle, A.J. Brown's recent comments and what he means to this team, Jaire Alexander decides to retire, and an offense that continues to sputter. (Approx. 5:00)From there, they got into their biggest surprises of this Flyers season. (Approx. 18:40)Then they discussed how the Philadelphia Union took care of business against the Chicago Fire in the MLS postseason, and what this team needs to do to beat New York City FC in the Conference Semifinals. (Approx. 25:50)The guys also dove into the gambling scandal that has rocked the baseball world and Cleveland Guardians. (Approx. 33:10)What they threw down on the Table this week was a great conversation with Tim Kelly from On Pattison about how this Phillies offseason may go. How will the front office navigate the offseason? Which players may stay? Which players may go? What kind of Bryce Harper will we see in 2026 as his career has been up and down? Might we see some new pitchers on the staff? All of this and much more this week on the Table! Hey, soccer fans! Nick has somewhat recovered from his night at the MLS Play-In Game where the Chicago Fire defeated Orlando City 3-1 to advance to the 1st round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. The Men in Red played a nearly perfect match, outworking, outplaying, and outcoaching their opposition. Brian Gutierrez opened the scoring, and Hugo Cuypers sealed the win with two goals of his own. But no one on the Fire had a poor or even mediocre match. This will surely give the Fire faithful a boost of confident, and maybe give Philadelphia Union fans some doubt.
