POPULARITY
In this episode we talk about mutuality in ministry with friends and nature with Melissa and Ben Conner. Melissa Conner is executive director and certified advanced therapeutic riding instructor at Renew Therapeutic Riding Center in Holland, Michigan. Dr. Benjamin Conner is Professor of Practical Theology and Director of the Graduate Certificate in Disability and Ministry at Western Theological Seminary (Holland, Michigan), and the author of Amplifying Our Witness (published by Eerdmans) and Disabling Mission, Enabling Witness (published by IVP Academic). As they share with us in this episode, both Melissa and Ben are committed to a holistic vision of ministry inclusive of people with disabilities and the broader world of nature. In particular, Ben tells us about how his thinking shifted away from ministering to people with disabilities towards ministering alongside and with them. Along those lines, he helps to organize a center at the Seminary where he teaches, called Friendship House, where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live and be integrated into the life of the Seminary. Melissa similarly tells us about how, within her work as therapeutic riding instructor who offers equine-assisted services (EAS) for people with disabilities, she views the horses at her center as having a vocation and calling to serve alongside her and her colleagues as partners in ministry. Team members on the episode from The Two Cities include: Stephanie Kate Judd, Dr. Grace Sangalang Ng, Rev. Daniel Parham, and Dr. Madison Pierce.
They Night They Came Home. But it's day time and only one of them is at home and, ya know what, this reference works as well here as it does in this show. Anyway, Melissa & Ben are back to discuss the first five episodes of season one (aka what is sure to be the only season) of PLL's latest incarnation, Original Sin! We've watched five hours of this show so find out with us if we can name the main characters! We can name a bukake of movie references contained in this show, at least. We also reminisce about OG PLL and how much we have wiped from our minds about it, except a certain man and his Ghost Jeep. The first person to be a guest on our show and just overall spectacular human being April Richardson needs a helping hand right now, as we all do from time to time, so please show her some kindness: https://ko-fi.com/aprilrichardson/

Fair warning, Melissa & Ben were super punchy during this episode. It has been a really long week, you guys. But, luckily, not much happened in this episode so it's cool. M & B do, however, spend an inordinate amount of time convincing themselves that Sara Harvey (aka Sharvey) does indeed think she is in actuality a robot. Welcome to the premiere episode of the premiere Murder, She Wrote podcast! Your hosts (Marissa, Melissa & Ben) watched one episode of MSW and fell head over heels in love with Angie Lans (that's Angela Lansbury to the uninitiated). So, now we have ventured to watch this 80s-tastic show from the very beginning and share our journey with you. We make very good choices. As do you. Join us as we get to know the sheer unadulturated glory that is Jessica Fletcher and Murder, She Wrote! Her origin story is pretty epic and invloves Humpty Dumpty, gay Bill Cosby, Lex Luthor's nephew and neck towels. You don't want to miss it.
