In this second half of our conversation, Sterling dives deeper into his run on Supergirl alongside artist Jamal Igle. Eleven seasons and counting! The armchair screenwriter crew are back to fix another fourteen to eighteen movies. Our episode count is about as uneven as the movies we watch! Speaking of uneven, our flick this week is Supergirl. Despite making plenty of capital “C” choices, this first attempt at showcasing the caped crusader's cousin is a real challenge to sit through. Interminably long and unable to find the humour in all the camp, even with Faye Dunaway crushing it, Supergirl is desperately in need of a rewrite. Luckily there are plenty of fun ideas for us to play off of, and maybe some character arcs that were intended by the original screenwriters, yet go unrealized. In today's Daily Fix:James Gunn has announced the next Superman film in the rebooted DCU: Man of Tomorrow. Gunn already has a treatment for the story written, and is expected to go into production in the very near future. Next up in the DCU theatrical schedule are Supergirl and Clayface, due out next year. In other news, Amazon Prime Video's Tomb Raider series has found its Lara Croft in Sophie Turner. The Tomb Raider series will be written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. And finally, the Perfect Dark reboot was almost saved at the last minute by Take-Two Interactive. Developer Crystal Dynamics was in discussions with Take-Two to handle publishing duties, but the deal ultimately fell through. Work on the game reportedly continued even after the game was officially canceled by Microsoft.
