In which the Mister and the Monsters join me in reviewing 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (2016), which you can watch for free right now on IMDb TV. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg from a script by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken and Damien Chazelle; the film follows Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who gets caught up in a accident while driving and wakes up in an underground bunker with Howard (John Goodman in a tour de force performance) and Emmett (John Gallagher Jr.). The story follows the three in a minimalist and claustrophobic manner, keeps you guessing as the story takes sharp turns that ultimately culminate in a conclusion that's as unexpected as it is gratifying. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review. Opening into music: GOAT by Wayne Jones, courtesy of YouTube Audio Library --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jokagoge/support

Surviving a car accident, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), is forced to stay in a bunker by Howard, a brilliant performance by John Goodman because Aliens may or may not have infected the world outside with poison. Is it better in the bunker or in the real world? Listen to the show to find out more! On Anniversary Corner we're taking a look back at Hot Tub Time Machine, The Island, Road Trip, Showgirls and the modern-day classic that is, Home Alone. On Hidden Gems we want you all to go out and watch The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019), a charming and brilliantly acted adventure starring Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson and Zak Gottsagen. On his journey he meets Tyler (Labeouf), an outlaw on the run, and the two form unlikely friendship. This film is definitely worth a watch due to its feelgood nature, and we could all do with some goodness right now. Check out the show to learn more about this hidden gem and other films. We may not have a giant Kaijus but this week's Back to the Movies packs a mean Godzilla sized punch in our review of 2016's biggest surprise, 10 Cloverfield Lane. It may not have much in common with it's predecessor, but that doesn't stop us from talking conspiracies, remembering the original, or discussing our spiderweb crazy theories. We're joined again by Dalton Stuart to talk about our memories with the 2008 Cloverfield before delving into our reviews and recommendations. In order to keep you spoiler free and ripe for the filmgoing experience, we keep our initial review on a tight lockdown of any real plot points. 10 Cloverfield Lane stayed under tight wraps at Bad Robot Productions under the code name Valencia based on a script titled The Cellar before being officially announced January 15 of this year. The film's shocking announcement less than 2 months before its release has been the talk of the internet and it's minimal marketing and projected success could effectively make it the Beyonce of the film industry.J.J. Abrams has run a tight shift as producer by keeping all of this film's secrets tightly under wraps. We don't want to spoil any of the fun, but here's a basic synopsis. After an accident, Howard (John Goodman) takes Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) to his underground bunker and refuses to let her leave because of an incident that has occurred on the outside. 10 CLOVERFIELD LN TimestampsRemembering Cloverfield - 4:10Review - 14:12Recommendations - 30:50*Spoilers* - 35:36 Like what you hear?
