Tonight's guest, Kai, used to be an avid coon hunter, but a Dogman encounter she had while coon hunting when she was 12, changed all of that. Back when she was 12, she snuck out of her house one night, to go coon hunting with her 3 best friends. Not long after midnight, after hunting at a location called Tall Pines that they had been to many times before, they decided to go hunting deeper into that woods than they had ever been before. Unfortunately, that was a decision they'd soon come to regret. After working their way about 4 miles into that woods, they came to a draw. Right before Kai and her friends got to the edge of the draw, the 2, big, walker hounds they were hunting with, Amos and Russ, ran excitedly down into the draw. Kai and her friends thought they were hot on the trail of a coon. After the dogs disappeared over the edge of the draw, everything went dead silent. About 20 seconds after that, the dogs tore out of the draw, screaming and crying, and blew past Kai, like their tails were on fire! They were heading at top speed in the direction of the truck. That stunned Kai and her friends because Amos and Russ had a reputation for not being afraid of anything, including bears, which they had treed numerous times before. Unfortunately, about 5 seconds after the dogs came tearing out of the draw, it became clear why they were acting the way they were. Kai watched in horror as an 8-foot tall, 4-foot wide, Dogman came up out of the draw and then squared up with them. It growled with so much force, Kai says she could feel her insides rattle. The next thing Kai knew, she had been knocked to the ground and was laying there, all alone, with the Dogman. Her friends had already taken off, running for the truck and left her there, to fend for herself. Kai watched in horror as the Dogman shifted its gaze from her absconding friends to her. So there she was, laying on the ground, all alone, with this 8-foot tall Dogman staring at her; all the while knowing that the truck was 4 miles away.Kai's 1st encounter was obviously a bad one, but she says the 3rd encounter she had, years later, was even more frightening. We hope you'll tune in and listen to her share the details of her encounters. If you do, you'll probably understand why she's had so much trouble dealing with them, over the years. If you'd like to check out my new Bigfoot show, called My Bigfoot Sighting, here's a link to the My Bigfoot Sighting YouTube Channel…. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_v5B0Q81aLiatYVABOEZWw/videosTo find out how to listen to Dogman Encounters commercial-free, please visit https://DogmanEncounters.com/PodcastIf you'd like to help support the show, by buying your own Dogman Encounters t-shirt, sweatshirt, tank top, or coffee mug, please visit the Dogman Encounters Show Store, by going to https://Dogman-Encounters.MyShopify.comIf you've had a Dogman encounter and would like to speak with me about it, whether you'd like to keep your encounter confidential or be interviewed on a show, please go to https://DogmanEncounters.com and submit a report. If you've had a Sasquatch sighting and would like to be a guest on Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio, please go to https://BigfootEyewitness.com and submit a report. Thanks for listening!

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives Classic Rewind we're going all the way back to November 25, 2013, when we spoke with author, researcher, fellow Texan, and friend Lyle Blackburn about two of his books The Beast of Boggy Creek and The Lizard Man of Scrape Ore Swamp! During his research, Lyle has often explored the remote reaches of the southern U.S. in search of shadowy creatures said to inhabit the dense backwoods and swamplands of these areas. He's a real hands-on guy. When he's not investigating these mysterious legends, he is also the frontman and founder of the rock band Ghoultown! He's written many books and appeared on many television shows like Monsters & Mysteries in America, Finding Bigfoot, the CBS Morning Show, and some Small Town Monsters documentaries. It's almost Halloween, so of course, all October, the Planet 8 crew has been watching scary movies! Of course, we tend to watch scary movies all year long, but it's a little more concentrated this month, and we focus a little more on certain films this time of year. This episode we discuss what type of films get us in the "Halloween spirit" ! If you're looking for ideas for things to watch leading up to Halloween, tune in!For Chief Engineer Bob, it's all about spooky films with a comedic twist. Some of the films he likes to watch to get into a Halloween mood include the Don Knotts classic, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, Munster Go Home, and of course, Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. Another great scary yet humorous film to watch is John Landis' An American Werewolf in London.Recon Officer Karen always starts with the Universal Monsters, and this year it began with Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman, which has the creepiest opening of any Universal monster film. Next up was Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, which never fails to entertain. She'll be moving on to the Hammer films, in particular the Hammer version of The Mummy. She also watched some John Carpenter movies, The Thing and Prince of Darkness.Commander Larry has been showing his wife Jasmine a lot of films she's never seen before, but more on the lighter side. One of these was The Monster Squad, which is still entertaining and has some great updated designs for the classic monsters. He also had some Hammer films on his list, including the Hammer Phantom of the Opera.Of course we divert and digress and discuss Phantom of the Paradise, Phantasm, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Milpitas Monster (really, we swear), and many others! For the Sensor Sweep, Bob came across an unusual Blu-Ray -Night of the Animated Dead, an animated version of the classic Night of the Living Dead. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a stinker. The animation is just not very good. It's also basically a shot for shot recreation of the film. So this is our first trick, not treat, sensor sweep! All right, friends, that's all this time around. We wish you all a safe and fun Halloween! Let us know what movies you're watching.Twitter: https://twitter.com/Planet8CastFacebook: www.Facebook.com/Planet8PodcastHappy Halloween!

Brook grew up on a 13-acre game farm, in Lumpkin County, Georgia. Her father raised chickens there. For years, she lived a normal life there, playing hide and seek with friends, in the woods and having a good time. One night, though, when she was 7 or 8, she found out that she didn't know the woods around the farm as well as she thought she did. Those woods held a secret and she was about to get an education. That was far from the only Bigfoot encounter Brook has had. Many more were to follow. We hope you'll tune in and listen to her talk about them.If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest, on the show, please go to https://MyBigfootSighting.com and let us know. The Anglo-Saxons believed in many different creatures and monsters. They populated their world and haunted their nightmares. Grendel is one of three foes, along with Grendel's mother and a dragon, in the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf. Grendel is thought of as a huge troll-like creature who dwells in a swamp or a cave. Those are the sorts of locations the Saxons thought trolls lived. Beowulf eventually kills Grendel. There were just a few creatures who the Anglo-Saxons believed inhabited the woods and hills. It was for fear of them that they avoided such places in the night. When bad things happened they would blame them and they would pray to Woden and Freya to protect their families.

Little Amal is a 3.5m high puppet who has been walking nearly 9000 kilometres across Europe this summer in recognition of the journey made by thousands of child refugees every year in search of family members, safety and a new home. To mark this extraordinary project, five award-winning European writers have written short stories inspired by Amal's walk. Each one has responded imaginatively to the puppet's journey through their own country, reflecting the hopes and fears of both Amal herself and the people she encounters on her way. As she strides through the stories and across Europe, Amal takes on many guises. She's a refugee child from a camp on the Turkish Syrian border, who sets off in search of her mother, accompanied by an alter-ego puppet guide; she's befriended by a seagull in Greece; she strikes fear into the heart of a small, lonely boy in Italy; becomes the target for a kidnapping in Belgium… The Walk has been created by Good Chance Theatre, who started the theatre in the Calais Jungle and Handspring Puppet company, who created the puppets for War Horse. Little Amal began her walk in Turkey at the end of July and, helped by a team of puppeteers, performers, local people and arts organisations, she'll walk nearly 9000km across Europe, finishing in Manchester in November. She arrives in the UK, at Folkestone, on 19 October. Hide and Seek by Lorenza Pieri is set in Genazzano, near Rome, where the children of the town are playing games to welcome Little Amal on her journey through Italy. But for Daniel, hiding on the steps to the castle to avoid being found and caught by the other children and their huge, terrifying visitor, the game threatens to be another humiliation in a long line. Lorenza Pieri is a novelist, journalist and literary translator. Her first novel to appear in English, The Garden of Monsters, is published by Europa Editions. NETHERWORLD Haunted House is open nightly, and there's no time like the present to celebrate the acclaimed attraction's 25 Seasons of Screams! Twenty-five plus years ago, co-creators Ben Armstrong and Billy Messina set out to create a one-of-a-kind and otherworldly haunted house experience the likes of which Atlantans had never seen before. The goal was to develop an attraction that would be immensely horrifying but equally entertaining – something that would become a seasonal tradition Halloween enthusiasts would return to year after year. That extraordinary vision helped attract a team of highly talented actors, makeup artists, costumers, set builders, and animatronics experts, which helped catapult NETHERWORLD to the next level and become known as one of the most influential haunts in the world. Years later, in 2017, Armstrong and Messina planted their NETHERWORLD roots in Stone Mountain, Ga., when they purchased a 10-acre complex that now houses the massive entertainment destination that the duo has worked to grow over the last quarter-century. Two yearly haunts, a post-apocalyptic-themed laser tag arena, four epic escape room games, a monster museum and a magical Midway (a carnival-like experience with games, a foam field, food trucks offering crave-worthy snacks, roaming monsters, Instagram-worthy photo ops with props and sets, and more) can all now be found at NETHERWORLD Haunted House. Several offerings, including laser, escape and the museum, are open year-round, and the haunted houses pop up throughout the year for special occasions like Christmas and Valentine's Day. NETHERWORLD is no longer “just a haunt” open during Halloween, but a space where adventure seekers from near and far come to play. “We knew developing a haunted house would be a colossal task to take on, but we couldn't have imagined where we'd be today,” said Messina. “We've come so far. It's taken a lot of hard work and dedication over the many years, and of course, we couldn't do it without the support of our incredible staff and haunt goers. We'll always remember our 25th season, and over the coming years, we look forward to continuing to build on our dream and welcome even more surprises and offerings for visitors new and old.” Don't know the full history of NETHERWORLD? Fans can read about the innovative haunt themes from over the past 25 years, like The Colber Mansion (1997), The Harvest Man (2003), The Mangler (2008), The Gargoyle (2010), Night of the Gorgon (2019) and more, here. Read more on the 25th Anniversary themes below: RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN: Fulfilling the wishes of The Collector, a primordial monster known as The Ganoga will summon the twins, FEAR and TERROR, to lead an invasion of hideous creatures from the NETHERWORLD! Bone-crunching Berserkers and flesh-rending Rabid lead the charge, hidden deep within the swirling mists and flashing lightning of a colossal storm of shadows! Will the maelstrom conceal the crawling horrors from their helpless victims, or will they glimpse the RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN in time to flee for their lives? Featuring: The Storm of Shadows, Trapped in the Wreckage, the Fisherman's Nightmare, Eaten by the Old Ones, the Collector's Crypt, the Starving Skull, the Jaws of Fate, the Swamp of the Lost, the Maggots of Madness, the Rage of the Rabid, the Berserkers Revenge, the Goblin Horde, the Court of the Warlord and the Soul Eater Unleashed! Twenty-five years of never-ending nightmares culminate in this apocalyptic festival of destruction as guests witness the RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN! RETURN TO PLANET X: In the secret base known as the BOX, an experiment gone wrong has broken down the very fabric of time and space, releasing bizarrely colorful mutagenic energy through dimensional gateways all over the facility! Weird, malevolent life forms stalk victims throughout the complex, and the very fabric of reality is crumbling. Exobiologist Dr. Otto Gloman has gone into the rift equipped with a powered space suit to stop the horror and force it to RETURN TO PLANET X in 3D! Guests will put on special 3D glasses and help him defeat this bizarre invasion before it consumes the entire planet. Featuring: The Ghastly Gloaming, the Horror of the Hunes, the Malevolent Mutations, the Power of the Pyramid, the Secrets of the Serpent Men, the Paradox of Planet X, the Revenge of the Reptilians, the Primal Polymorphs, the Color Out of Space, the Mega Xeno Arthropod and the Nightmares from Beyond Time! Those brave enough to join the daunting mission will be pressured to retain a fragile grip on reality while viewing this world of horror through 3D glasses as they RETURN TO PLANET X. All tickets will be timed, dated, and limited. All tickets include access to both haunts, RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN and RETURN TO PLANET X in 3D. Purchasing tickets online and in advance is highly recommended to guarantee entry as walk-up/box office sales are subject to availability. SpeedPasses available to expedite entry. Masks are strongly encouraged while visiting NETHERWORLD Haunted House. Masks are, however, required to enter the House of Creeps Monster Museum, the NETHERWORLD Gift Shop and the common areas of Escape the NETHERWORLD. For more details on the haunts and to learn more about COVID-19 protocols, visit www.fearworld.com. About NETHERWORLD: Created in 1997 by Billy Messina and Ben Armstrong, veterans in the film and television industry, NETHERWORLD is Atlanta's most popular self-guided, dark attraction. Recognized as one of the most highly acclaimed haunted houses in the world, NETHERWORLD is known for its over-the-top special effects, unique makeup, elaborate costuming, skilled stunt actors and unusual themes. Since relocating to Stone Mountain in 2017, NETHERWORLD has expanded its offerings to include year-round escape games, known as Escape the NETHERWORLD, and outdoor laser tag, dubbed Laser Adventure Battle Arena. Over the years, NETHERWORLD has garnered local and national attention from media including CNN, “The Today Show,” “The Early Show,” The Travel Channel and Wall Street Journal and has been voted the top haunt in the nation by publications such as Hauntworld Magazine, Dread Central, Fangoria and USA Today. NETHERWORLD's innovative horror experience and attractions continue to draw in generations of thrill-seekers eager to see what new nightmares have been unleashed! (DISCLAIMER: This episode contains a lot of spoilers for "Midnight Mass"!) Mike Flanagan's "Midnight Mass" revisits a lot of the themes of much of his previous work: grief, death, trauma, loss (and you can listen to our discussion of his "Haunting Of" Netflix series here). But it also covers some a lot of new ground, including the complicated relationship between human beings and the religions they build. It is a show grounded as much in humanity as it is in horror, and it asks more questions than it answers - and, in this way, it demonstrates an understanding of what religion is and how it works that is rare not only for the genre but for popular fiction in general. John has been unable to stop thinking about the series since it debuted three weeks ago, and so, desperate to talk about it, he invited the two most qualified voices on the subjects of horror and religion he knows - Dr. Kelly J. Baker, making her second appearance on the show, and Dan Colón, co-host and co-creator of Cage Club's The Monsters that Made Us. TWITTER/Links! Tonight's show is part 2 of a 2-part episode. On this show, James is going to talk about his own encounters, including the one this episode is named after. That encounter traumatized him so much, he swore off going into the woods again and when you hear him talk about what happened to him, you'll understand why.If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest, on the show, please go to https://MyBigfootSighting.com and let us know! If you listened to last week's show, you heard M.T. talk about a few of the Sasquatch encounters he's had, including the time he was 10 feet from a huge, 12 foot tall male. Well, we didn't have enough time for M.T. to share all of his encounters last week, so he's agreed to come back and share his other sightings and encounters with you. We hope you'll tune in and listen to him share these other encounters.Did you know that I'm now producing another Bigfoot podcast? it's called "My Bigfoot Sighting." What makes My Bigfoot Sighting a different kind of Bigfoot podcast is the fact that all of the sightings and encounters are delivered 1st-hand, by the eyewitnesses who experienced the sightings and encounters. Also, there's no host. That means, you'll never hear any questions asked. You also won't hear any small talk and you won't hear any chatter. My Bigfoot Sighting is nothing but sighting after sighting, with no fluff. I think you'll like it that way. To give you a feel for what the show is like, I'm going to post a sample episode, here, on the Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio Channel. I'm going to post My Bigfoot Sighting Episode 2 (part 2), after I post tonight's show.If you'd like to check out my new Bigfoot show, called "My Bigfoot Sighting," there are two ways to listen. Greg Yost is known as "Squatchman" in the cryptid community, due to his knack for making Sasquatch encounters happen. His ability to draw them in is so well-known, people are almost constantly asking him to take them out with him. On tonight's show, Greg's going to talk about his 3, most recent sightings. These sightings, like most of his sightings, took place in the Clark State Forest, in Indiana. A woman who was with him, when 1 of his sightings took place found herself about 1 foot from a huge male. We hope you'll tune in and listen to Greg share the details of all 3 sightings. If you do, you'll see what they call him Squatchman. If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest, on the show, please go to https://MyBigfootSighting.com and let us know! For years, tonight's guest has worked as a Park Reserve Ranger. In that time, he's encountered almost any kind of forest-dwelling animal you could imagine. Some of those experiences were melancholy and some were exciting. None of those encounter, however, compares to the encounter he had one night, when he encountered a 12-foot tall Sasquatch, while on duty. And that's what he's going to talk about. If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest, on the show, please go to https://MyBigfootSighting.com and let us know! Robin Haynes McCray was featured on Episode 10 and on that show, she talked about several of the experiences she's had with the Sasquatch that live on and near her property. Well, that show only scratched the surface. Over the years, she's had countless experiences with them. On this show, she's going to share more of them with you and tell you what it's like, living with Sasquatch. If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest, on the show, please go to https://MyBigfootSighting.com and let us know!
