** This review was recorded in September **On the twenty-fifth night of our #31DaysToHalloween the Mister joins me in reviewing WEAPONS (2025), from writer/director Zach Cregger.  When seventeen children from the same elementary school class suddenly vanish from their homes at the exact same time one night, their small community is thrown into a state of panic and suspicion.  The mystery is explored through the shifting perspectives of the children's teacher, an increasingly desperate grieving father, a troubled local cop, and other citizens whose lives are spiraling in the wake of the inexplicable tragedy.  As fear and paranoia mount, these disparate characters are drawn into a chilling web of dark rituals and supernatural manipulation to uncover what truly happened to the missing children.  The film clocks in at 2 h and 8 m, is rated R and we caught it in theatres but you can find it on HBO Max and to buy/rent on Prime Video. On the twenty-fourth night of our #31DaysToHalloween the Mister joins me in reviewing TRAIN TO BUSAN (2016), screenplay from Park Joo-suk and Yeon Sang-ho, the film is directed by Yeon Sang-ho.  A busy, divorced fund manager, Seok-woo, reluctantly agrees to take his young daughter, Su-an, on the KTX bullet train from Seoul to Busan for her birthday, unaware that a deadly zombie virus has just begun rapidly spreading across the country.  Just after the train departs, an infected passenger boards and quickly turns, unleashing a chaotic outbreak among the confined passengers who must now fight their way through the narrow train cars to survive.  As the high-speed train races toward the supposed safety of Busan, Seok-woo and a small group of survivors are forced to battle the relentless hordes while also confronting the worst of human selfishness among the remaining uninfected.  The film clocks in at 1 h and 58 m, is unrated  (but let's say R) and we caught the film on the Hoopla app, but you can watch the film on Netflix and to buy/rent on Prime Video. The girl repays their kindness with a grim prophecy: the family will all be dead by the next full moon, an omen that is confirmed when she ritually slits her own throat.
