Welcome back, everyone, and thank you for joining me again here on The One Thing That's Needful podcast. My name is Dr. Siohvaughn Funches. Today we're going to recap what we've learned over the past couple of weeks in this series, “The One Thing That is Needful,” as well as allow the Lord to continue to build upon the foundation that He's already laying for us. We're going to pick up where we left off last week. For those of you joining us for the first time, I want to welcome you and thank you. I want to encourage you if you have time, to go back and listen to the first two episodes because the Lord is laying a solid foundation, not only for this podcast but more importantly He's laying a solid foundation for our entire Christian walk. So it's very important that you get all the wisdom and all the revelation that God wants to give you. He's definitely leading us to a place of super-abounding blessings and a place where we can receive all the promises of God, without effort or without sweat.   KEY BIBLE VERSES [4:27] John 19: 30, NKJV 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. [4:38] Matthew 5:17-18, NKJV 17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” [8:53] Luke 10:38-42, NKJV 38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” [18:27] Isaiah 54:17, NKJV 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, ... [23:42] Matthew 6:33, NKJV 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. [26:02] Psalm 127:1, NKJV 1  Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. [29:26] Hebrews 8 (full chapter), NKJV.   MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Please visit DrFunches.com for more information and ways to get involved in this ministry. Thank you again for joining me. Hebrews 10:19-25 New King James Version (NKJV) Hold Fast Your Confession 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Psalm 50 New King James Version (NKJV) God the Righteous Judge A Psalm of Asaph. 50 The Mighty One, God the Lord, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people: 5 “Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” 6 Let the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is Judge. Selah 7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God! 8 I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me. 9 I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds. 10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. 12 “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats? 14 Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. 15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” 16 But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth, 17 Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you? 18 When you saw a thief, you consented[a] with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers. 19 You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit. 20 You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. 21 These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes. 22 “Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver: 23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Footnotes: Psalm 50:18 Septuagint, Syriac, Targum, and Vulgate read ran. James 3:13-18 New King James Version (NKJV) Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom 13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
