This week we are joined by DesJean Jones, for a conversation about unlocking business opportunities for the underserved in our community, the "backpack" of race that many minorities carry, and the powerful idea that "You Are Enough". DesJean is OIC of Oklahoma County's Executive Director. OIC stands for Opportunities Industrialization Center, and the organization has been around for more than 50 years, specializing in Helping Others Help Themselves. They do this through academic classes, skills training and day to day living courses. OIC recently launched their business academy and business think tank. We are excited for you to listen in!

Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down. Some words from my personal guru – Oprah Winfrey. Isn't that what true love is. Today we continue our special series “Love is Love” when I speak with Patience Carter Murray and Alex Murray who traveled a road that would have broken many but instead led them to a place where Love recognizes no barriers. You absolutely have to check outwww.sincerelypatience.com which hosts videos from their wedding. This week, Deborah heads to Rocky Mount to learn about the predominantly female African-American medical team at the Opportunities Industrialization Center - the OIC - a multi-purpose resource center that focuses on health. These doctors, nurses, and dentists are working to both improve health disparities in Eastern NC and to educate their patients about the virtues of medicine and health care.
