1. No Endless War or Ground Occupation Strong emphasis that this is not Iraq or Afghanistan: No large ground invasion No nation-building No long-term occupation Military strategy described as rapid, overwhelming, air-dominant action. Confidence that U.S. casualties will be minimal and duration short. 2. Military Action Against Iran Is Justified as Self-Defense The conflict is framed as a response to 47 years of Iranian aggression, including: Sponsorship of terrorism Killing nearly a thousand Americans Attempted assassinations of U.S. officials Iran is described as an irrational, theocratic death cult, making deterrence unreliable. Nuclear capability in Iran is portrayed as an existential threat to U.S. cities. 3. This Is “America First,” Not a War for Israel Repeated rejection of claims that the war is driven by Israel or Jewish influence. Such claims are labeled dishonest, antisemitic, and propaganda. The stated motivation: protecting American lives and national security. 4. Gas Prices Are a Short-Term Political Weapon Gas price increases are framed as temporary and expected due to Middle East conflict. Democrats are accused of exploiting gas prices the same way they previously focused on egg prices. The speaker argues prices are still lower than under Biden, despite rising from recent lows. Long-term expectation: Iran’s collapse would lower global gas prices. 5. Strong Leadership vs. Weak Appeasement Trump is decisive and feared by adversaries. Obama and Biden are criticized for appeasement and failed nuclear deals. Past diplomatic failures (North Korea, Iran nuclear deal) are cited as evidence diplomacy failed. 6. Harsh Criticism of Tucker Carlson and Isolationists Tucker Carlson is accused of: Spreading anti-American propaganda Echoing Islamist narratives Undermining U.S. troops His statements about unconditional surrender and nuclear escalation are called: False Dangerous Morally grotesque Isolationist conservatives are grouped with progressive Democrats as a shared threat to U.S. foreign policy. 7. Iranian Regime Change Is Seen as Necessary The appointment of a new Iranian leader (son of the former Ayatollah) is rejected. Any continuation of clerical Islamist rule is deemed unacceptable. Regime collapse is framed as the only path to lasting security. 8. Deterrence Fails with Religious Extremism Comparison between North Korea and Iran: North Korea: dangerous but rational Iran: irrational due to religious ideology Argument: Traditional nuclear deterrence does not work with actors who glorify martyrdom. 9. Public Opinion Depends on Duration and Casualties Acknowledgment that support would collapse if: War drags on for years U.S. casualties rise significantly Confidence expressed that this outcome is “near zero.” 10. Closing Shift to Religion and AI Ends with an unexpected, uplifting segment: An AI-generated Christian apologetic is quoted at length. The response argues Christianity is intellectually compelling, historically grounded, and uniquely truthful. Dragon has planned a sporting competition for all the Ahway Island creatures. Let the Island Games begin! Narrator: Female Story Begins: 3:27 Dragon’s Island Games Excerpt: Dragon moseyed home after finishing an important meeting in the clearing in the forest. In honor of the human Olympics that were taking place, two animal representatives from each area of the island had just met to plan their very first celebration of animal skills on Ahway Island. Everyone was so excited, they had decided that events would take place on the following day, with Dragon and Odin Owl serving as co-hosts. After the meeting, everyone dispatched back to their respective homes on Ahway Island to talk to their fellow creatures and select the events that would take place in each area: the forest, the mountains, the animal sanctuary, and the beach. Spreading out the events would enable all creatures to have a chance to attend and participate. Today's Meditation: Relax your whole body from head to toe in this meditation. In the first letter of this class, the Rebbe acknowledges news about the beginning of Tomchei Temimim activities and blesses their success in spreading the wellsprings of Chassidus. He objects to delaying sharing Chabad teachings with someone until after leaving the hospital, explaining that both healing and Torah study should not be postponed. In the second letter, the Rebbe responds to a student who feels he has not changed after a year of study. The Rebbe explains that a person cannot judge himself objectively and attributes such discouragement to the yetzer hara. He insists real change must have occurred and advises practical steps to deepen spiritual growth. PDF Link: https://www.soulwords.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/30-letters-30-days-06-07.pdf

MAR. 2, 2026Having a Spirit-controlled tongue (2)"The tongue is a flame of fire." Jas 3:6 NLTThe Bible says, "A tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And...the tongue is a flame of fire" (vv. 5-6 NLT). People living in hot climates know the danger of ravaging bushfires driven by desert winds and can readily identify with these words: "See how great a forest a little fire kindles!" (v. 5 NKJV). A single spark from a match has started many massive fires. Spreading faster and farther than we might ever imagine, that kind of fire destroys homes and businesses worth millions of dollars, leaving a scorched landscape and devastated lives. Similarly, how many reputations have been ruined by a careless word? The impact of our words spreads far and fast, especially in our digital age. Words published on any social media platform can be shared all over the world in seconds. Like a fire, that word can get out of control and do irreparable damage. Hence James wrote: "No man can tame the tongue" (v. 8 NKJV). But God can. "The fruit of the Spirit is...self-control" (Gal 5:22-23 NKJV).The Holy Spirit can take a tongue that peddles gossip and turn it into one that brings glory to God. He can take a tongue that spews bitterness and turn it into one that speaks blessing. Gossip is saying something behind someone's back that you would never say to that person's face.Flattery is saying something to someone's face that you would never say behind the person's back. And both are wrong. So let's join the Psalmist in praying: "May these words of my mouth...be pleasing in your sight, Lord" (Ps 19:14 NIV).Having a Spirit-controlled tongue Reputations have been ruined by a careless word.Share This DevotionalSend a textSupport the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

What do Tottenham Hotspur, Ajax Amsterdam, Bayern Munich and Austria Vienna have in common? They all, for better, or for worse, have come to be seen as “Jew Clubs” throughout their history. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Sometimes the club embraced it, often it didn't. "Jew Clubs" - not Jewish clubs, not founded as a Jewish sports society or anything like that. But clubs that have become a canvas for the performance of Jewishness, of antisemitism and also of philosemitism. What does that say about these clubs is one question. What does it say about Europe's broader cultural and political discourse? That's another. What it says about Jews in those clubs is one question - what it says about how Jewishness is constructed is another.Pavel Brunssen has written a fascinating book on it. He is a Research Associate and Alfred Landecker Lecturer at the Research Center on Antigypsyism at Heidelberg University. There are a lot of voices from fans, from media, from online discourse in this book - and it's an academic book as well. HELPFUL LINKS FOR THIS EPISODE:NEW: send me a text message! Platonic friends help with Intimate shaving, complicated by arousal.By darrenr.  Listen to the ► Podcast at Steamy Stories.“There's one thing, though,” Anna said hesitantly. “I'm nervous about wielding a razor in such a tender place when I can't see very well down there. Would you, would you be willing to help me?”Jake swallowed. “Help, um, help you shave?”Anna nodded. “I know it's a big favor. It's no problem if you'd rather not.”Jake couldn't think of anything he wanted to do more than spend some quality time with Anna's vagina.“There’s one thing, though,” Anna said hesitantly. “I’m nervous about wielding a razor in such a tender place when I can’t see very well down there. Would you… would you be willing to help me?”Jake swallowed. “Help, um, help you shave?”Anna nodded. “I know it’s a big favor. It’s no problem if you’d rather not.”Jake couldn’t think of anything he wanted to do more than spend some quality time with Anna’s vagina.“It’s not that! I’m happy to help. It’s just, I’ve never shaved a, um, you know, a…”“Vulva?” Anna said with a smirk. “It’s okay to use the word. Anyway, neither have I! But you have the advantage of being able to see down there.”“Okay, fair point,” Jake said. “But it also means… well in order to do this, I’ll need to…” Anna raised her eyebrows waiting for him to finish.“I’ll be clean,” Anna said. “I’m going to shower first, of course.”Jake wasn’t expecting that. He shook his head. “Oh, no, I’m not concerned about that. I just mean I’ll need to… touch… you. There. You know, to shave you.”Anna frowned. “Yes, hmm, I see the difficulty now. You’ve got a friend sincerely asking for your help with her most private place, and you’re balking because even a clean vulva is, let’s face it, pretty gross.”“NO!” Jake said. “That’s not it at all!” Anna looked hurt. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to yell. You’re completely misunderstanding me. I don’t think you’re gross in any way. I don’t think your… vulva is gross. At all. Not to be too corny about it, but I think your whole body is beautiful. Including your vag–, I mean, vulva.” Anna looked skeptical. Jake grimaced. “I’m nervous because… well, you’ve said our relationship isn’t sexual. I have to be honest with you. There’s no way I can touch your body… your vulva… and not be affected. Sexually.”Anna bit her lip and looked down, nodding. “I’m still figuring myself out. I think that experience with Andrew all those years ago affected me more than I realized. I don’t know what I want, or what I feel. I just know I feel safe with you.” She lifted her head to look him in the eye. “Do you think it’s possible to just pretend that it’s not sexual between us?”“Yes, I can do that,” Jake said. “Though my body might react differently.”Anna smiled in relief. “Then there’s nothing to worry about. Once the novelty wears off, you’ll realize what a tedious task you’ve volunteered for. Now come ON already.” Her face bright with happiness, she jumped up from the couch, pulling him by the hand to the bathroom. “I’m happy to help shave you in return, of course.”“That’s probably safest,” Jake said, trying to play it cool as he realized where she would be touching him. They showered together like normal. Anna got two fresh towels, spreading one on the floor of the bathroom and keeping the other folded as a pillow. She unwrapped a new razor and put it, along with a can of shaving cream, beside the towel. Lying down on her back, she stretched her legs out and spread them apart.“Do you think I should shave it all or keep a patch of hair?” she asked.Jake stood transfixed by the sight, contemplating her lovely bush. It was full and fluffy and beautiful, with light brown hair looking impossibly soft. Part of him didn’t want her to shave it, but only part of him.“We could definitely leave a patch of hair if you want. Though even if you start fully shaved it would grow back soon.”“Good point. Let’s just shave it all to start.” She reached for the can of shaving cream.“Wait,” Jake said. “When I’ve shaved my beard in the past it worked much better when I clipped the hair short first. Otherwise the razor gets clogged. I have some small mustache scissors, if you want?”“Good idea,” Anna agreed.Jake dug in his drawer until he found the scissors, and then turned to face her and froze. Could he really do this? He felt a bit faint at the thought of accidentally cutting her.“It’s okay, Jake. I know you’re going to be gentle. Go ahead and start!” She smiled nervously at him. “But please be careful.”Jake took a deep breath and knelt between her open legs. He’d never been this close, and his greedy eyes took in every detail. He looked up to her face, framed at this angle by her lovely breasts, and she gave him an encouraging nod. Taking a deep breath, Jake raised his empty hand toward her and gently grabbed a tuft of hair. It was even softer than it looked.“Your hair is beautiful. Are you sure you want me to cut it?”Anna rolled her eyes. “Yes, I’m sure. Let’s do it!”Slowly, Jake brought the scissors up and snipped off a chunk of hair. Realizing he needed a place to collect it, he spread out a tissue. Anna watched him intently, propped up on her elbows. Carefully he worked, gathering and snipping, gathering and snipping. He gently brushed the loose hairs off her after trimming everything above her cleft.“How are you doing?” Jake asked.“Thank you for being so gentle. I would be a nervous wreck doing this myself.”“It’s my pleasure,” Jake said automatically, before realizing how intensely true the statement was. Quickly, he added, “Are you ready for me to continue working down… lower?”“You mean on my vulva?” She laughed. “Please use the names of my body parts, you silly.”“Sorry, you’re right. Are you ready for me to trim your vulva?”“Absolutely, please go ahead,” Anna said with a smile, though he still saw nervousness in her eyes. She dropped back onto the towel pillow, her breathing only a little shaky.Looking at her tender folds, Jake felt his palms sweating and his heart beating furiously. Gently, so gently, he touched his finger to the top of her cleft and drew it down to tease out the hairs trapped within. It took a few tries to get the hairs pulled off the bit of her inner labia that sat flush with her cleft. Careful to hold the scissors so he could see exactly where they cut and terrified of hurting her, he trimmed down the length of her outer lips.Anna’s hips twitched a little. “That tickles!”“Sorry! I’m not trying to tickle you.”“I know, it’s just a bit of sensory overload. Can you please just pause for a minute and press your palm against my skin, just to give my nerves a minute to calm down?”“Skin? Don’t you mean ‘vulva’?” Jake said.Anna laughed. “Fair point! Yes, please put your hand over my vulva to calm it down.”Jake put his palm against her cleft and felt its warmth, relishing the intimacy. Anna sighed and took a few deep breaths. “Okay, I’m good. Keep going.”“Could you please spread your legs a bit wider, so I can trim at the base of your legs?”“Sure thing!” Anna said. She bent her knees, bringing her feet up to rest against the sides of Jake’s legs as he knelt before her. Her outer lips were pulled apart, revealing moist pinkness inside. Her lovely scent grew stronger in his nose. Jake felt his erection jump. At least she couldn’t see his obvious arousal now. A few more minutes of careful clipping and he was done. He couldn’t be sure, but her inner lips looked wetter than before. He gently brushed the loose hairs away from her cleft and onto the tissue. Remembering how it might tickle, he placed his palm over everything again to relieve her.“Would you like me to clip, um, further down?” Then, remembering her earlier admonishment, added, “Around your, uh, anus?”Anna giggled as she sat up, her cheeks a little red. Anna bit her lip. “I suppose getting embarrassed at this point is silly. Yes, please trim down there, too.” She turned over onto her knees and pushed her bottom into the air, giving Jake his first clear view between her cheeks. His heart yearned with affection for her, the desire to care for her, even her cute little butthole. Only a few wisps of hair grew back there, and he was soon finished clipping.“Okay, I think we’re ready to start shaving,” Jake said. “Does it make sense to do that in the tub with lots of warm water?”“Definitely the tub, but we’re not ready yet. I need to clip you!”“Oh!” Jake said, “I forgot.” It was true. He was disappointed to realize he was quite erect, and with no way to hide it.“Well come on, trade places with me!” Jake stood up, his massive erection hanging out in the open air. He lay on his back feeling exposed and embarrassed. Anna knelt between his legs, and then she picked up his feet and brought them against the sides of her legs, so he was spread apart like she had been. His straining dick pointed up at the wall somewhere above his head.“Sorry about that,” he said, gesturing toward his erection.“Don’t be!” Anna replied. “I think it actually works better to have the skin stretched out for this. See if you can keep it that way. Are you ready?”“Sure, go ahead,” Jake answered. He didn’t expect it to be difficult to stay hard with her breath gently tickling his shaft. Sitting up on his elbows, he watched her gently grab a tuft of hair and clip it. She looked up to make sure he was okay, and then resumed careful clipping. Her breasts hung down in a lovely way as she bent over him clipping. Jake put his head back on the towel pillow and tried to relax, her every touch thrilling him.“I didn’t realize hairs grew up the shaft of your penis.”“Yeah it’s pretty nasty.”“No, it’s not nasty,” Anna said. “Just interesting.” He felt her fingers gingerly wrap around his shaft. “Wow, the skin is so soft. It’s a weird contrast with the hardness beneath the skin.” Jake relished the feel of her hand on him and listened to the soft swish of the scissors.“Are you doing okay?” Anna asked. She paused and kept her hand still on his hardness, the same anti-tickling strategy he’d used on her. It felt so nice. Jake was far more than okay, though he didn’t dare say that.He tilted his head up to look at her. “Perfectly comfortable. Thank you for being so careful.” She smiled at him, and then returned to her trimming. Her tongue poked out between her lips the same way it did when she was focused on some electronics soldering project. Seeing her so dedicated to caring for him made his ridiculous dick strain against her fingers.“Everything is more dynamic down here than I thought,” Anna said.Jake sat up again to give her a questioning look.“I suppose it’s obvious. It just hadn’t occurred to me. Like, when you’re hard it’s not simply rigid. It’s constantly softening a bit and re-hardening. I can even feel your pulse! And your scrotum moves!”Jake laughed. “Yeah I guess it’s all pretty weird.”“Not weird! Interesting.”Anna moved her hand down to his scrotum, her fingers gently stroking it as she trimmed hairs.“Alright, flip over so I can trim your… um,” Anna giggled for a second before continuing. “Your anus.” Jake dreaded this, but he complied. “Oh, I like how this seam of skin connects to your scrotum. This is so interesting!” A few more minutes of trimming and then she was done.“Okay NOW we’re ready for the shaving part,” Anna said brightly.Jake righted himself and helped clean up the tissues of trimmed pubic hair. There was a lot of hair.“Wow, look at us all trimmed!” Anna said, looking back and forth between the two trimmed crotches. “It feels cooler already. This is going to be great!” She started the water running and moved the new razor and can of shaving cream to the edge of the tub. They climbed in together and sat facing each other in the rising water.“This is fun,” Anna said. “I know it must be weird and tedious for you. I really appreciate you doing this with me.”“Are you kidding?” Jake said. “I’m having fun too. It’s not tedious at all.”Anna pulled herself up to sit on the edge of the tub and handed Jake the can of shaving cream. Still sitting in the water, he scooted toward her as she spread her legs apart. Jake squirted some shaving cream into his hand.“Ready?” he asked. Anna nodded, but he could see that her smile was a bit forced. He didn’t blame her for being nervous. He knew he felt more than nervous, and was grateful his hands remained steady. Jake dabbed the cream on the clipped-short hairs above her cleft and massaged it in with circular motions of his fingertips. Then he carefully dragged the razor in downward strokes, with the grain of her hair, stretching her skin flat as needed. Rinsing the razor often, he made sure to avoid re-shaving the same patch of skin. Finally, he was done with her pubic mound and rinsed her with cupped handfuls of water.“Nicely done, Jake!” Anna said, stroking the smooth skin with her hand. “Very nicely done.”Jake smiled, feeling pleased with his work. “Are you ready for me to shave your vulva now?”“Yes please!” Anna replied, though he could tell her enthusiasm was trying to conceal her nervousness.Jake squirted more cream in his hand and dabbed it on either side of her cleft. With both hands he gently rubbed cream along the inside of her legs and along her outer lips. Glancing up to check on her, he saw her cheeks were flushed. Did his touches feel good to her, or was that simply terror? Anna gave him a reassuring smile. Jake tried to focus.Continuing the short downward strokes, Jake gently drew the razor along her outer lips. Terrified of hurting her, with his other hand he stretched the skin flat and pulled it away from her inner labia as he shaved. After several minutes of careful work, she was shaved as far down as he could work at this angle. He brought up cupped handfuls of water to rinse and carefully stroked her skin feeling for any spots he might have missed. After a few touch-up strokes, he felt satisfied.“How is that?” Jake asked, looking up to her face. Anna’s cheeks were even more flushed, and she bit her lower lip. She broke out into a big smile.“Wow, Jake, you did a great job!” She explored all the shaved places with her fingers. “It feels so strange.”“I didn’t do a perfect job,” Jake said. “I was afraid of giving you a razor burn, so I went for gentleness over thoroughness.”“Thank you for being so careful. The whole time I knew I was in safe hands.”“You’re beautiful,” Jake said softly, lost in thought staring at her smooth cleft. Then, catching himself, “I think it looks great! Want me to finish your, uh, anus?”“Definitely!” Anna said. She dipped her bottom in the tub water to get everything freshly wet and turned over on her knees to present her bottom to him. Jake put shaving cream along the inside of each bottom cheek. A few careful strokes of the razor later he was finished, and he stopped to admire his work on her beautiful body.“All done!” he announced.Anna sat back down in the tub. “Alright, your turn now. Up on the edge of the tub!”While shaving Anna, Jake was so focused on being careful that his misbehaving dick shrunk down to nearly normal. Spreading his legs and presenting himself to Anna, however, quickly brought it back to fully erect.“Thank you,” she said. “I was worried how I would do this properly if your penis wasn’t erect. Are you ready?”Jake nodded, and Anna started rubbing shaving cream into his pubic hair. Looking down he watched her beautiful face, completely focused on her task. Her breasts, so comforting to see, jiggled as she moved. Part of him was very present, relishing her touches and attention. Another part of him was so deep in thought it was almost like having an out of body experience. Anna was the one person he cared most about in the whole world. She was his closest friend, the person who most understood him. When he was away from her, he missed her. When he was with her, he felt utterly content. His place didn’t feel like home unless she was there too. This wasn’t mere physical lust, though there was plenty of that as well. He truly loved her. The trouble was he didn’t see a way to tell her this, without risking messing up what he already had. The thought of frightening her off, of not sharing this intimacy with her, was too horrible to consider.Seeing the way she touched him, though, so carefully and tenderly, it was hard to believe she didn’t have any sexual feelings for him.“There we go,” Anna said, waking him from his reverie. Jake looked down to see himself thoroughly hairless. He didn’t get time to really look before she turned him over to shave between his butt cheeks. A minute later she was finished. They rinsed off in the shower and stood next to each other in front of the mirror to admire the results.“We look fantastic. I love this!” Anna said.“You look amazing,” Jake said.“So do you!” Anna was striking poses in the mirror. “Oh, I almost forgot. We need to moisturize.” She dug in her drawer and pulled out a bottle of lotion. “It’s a very gentle lotion suitable for the whole body. Do you mind if I apply it?” Jake shook his head and Anna straightened the towel on the floor for him to lie down upon. Anna used both hands on him to gently massage lotion everywhere she had shaved, including the shaft of his rock-hard dick and his smooth ball sack. Unlike shaving, he was obviously capable of applying lotion to himself without danger. But if she wanted to touch him and be touched by him, he certainly wasn’t going to argue. He was surprised to find Anna spreading the lotion beyond the sha

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Lazar Focus. Each Friday, join host diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman for a deep dive into what's behind the news that spins the globe. There is a religious community in Israel dedicated to spreading peace throughout the country and beyond. Days after October 7, this community opened its doors for hundreds of Israelis from diverse backgrounds, stressing the importance of maintaining peaceful dialogue between ethnic and religious groups. That community is Muslim. The Ahmadiyya number only around 2,000 in Israel, but are part of a global community of some 20 million. In today's Lazar Focus, Imam Imad Al Masri, a Jordanian cleric living in Haifa, explains the origins of his sect and makes an impassioned case for the Ahmadiyya vision for spreading peace around the world. As he marks the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, he discusses the community's outreach in Palestinian areas, including in the Gaza Strip under Hamas rule and during the recent war there. Al Masri recounts the reaction of the Ahmadiyya community to the October 7, 2023, attacks and how they dealt with initial suspicions from their Jewish neighbors. As Israel maintains a shaky ceasefire in Gaza and prepares for a possible war with Iran, the Ahmadiyya present an unwavering call for peace that many find refreshing and uplifting. Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer

Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer Across America? In an era where news travels instantly across Facebook, Instagram, and every major digital platform, stories about struggling public schools often fade quickly from the national spotlight. Baltimore City Public Schools operates with enormous financial resources. In 2024 alone, the district managed a $1.7 billion budget. Yet despite the funding, only about 10% of students tested proficient in math, a statistic that shocked parents, policymakers, and educators alike. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. But investigative journalist Christopher Papst believes what is happening inside Baltimore's classrooms is not just a local crisis, it may be a warning sign for the rest of the country. The Podcast is available and shared for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and most major podcast platforms. Papst, widely known for his reporting with Fox45 News Baltimore, spent nearly a decade investigating Baltimore City Public Schools. His findings ultimately became the foundation of his book Failure Factory, a deep dive into what he describes as systemic issues inside one of America's most heavily funded yet lowest-performing school systems. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . “This isn't simply about one city,” Papst has said in interviews promoting the book. “It's about a system that has shifted away from educating children and toward protecting bureaucracy.” Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer Across America? A System Under Scrutiny Papst's reporting followed the money trail, examining how funding decisions, administrative policies, and accountability measures impacted real classroom outcomes. His investigation uncovered patterns that he claims prioritize appearances over performance. According to Failure Factory, students were sometimes promoted despite failing grades, academic metrics were adjusted to maintain graduation rates, and disciplinary incidents were underreported to make schools appear safer. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. “Failure Factory raises the question,” wrote Barbara Dezmon, Ph.D., of the Maryland State Conference NAACP, “are children failing school or are schools failing children?” The Cost of Investigative Journalism Papst's reporting did not come without consequences. During his investigation, he faced death threats, accusations, and multiple complaints filed against him, challenges he says often accompany attempts to hold powerful institutions accountable. Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer Across America? “Educational institutions have evolved into a new bureaucracy,” Dezmon noted. “Chris Papst demonstrates the courage to challenge powerful bureaucracies by holding those at the top accountable.” For Papst, the backlash reinforced the importance of investigative journalism in modern media. As traditional television reporting merges with podcasts, streaming platforms, and digital news consumption through Apple and Spotify, long-form investigations are finding new audiences eager for deeper context beyond headlines. Look for The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Data Over Students? One of the central arguments presented in Failure Factory is that public education has undergone a significant philosophical shift. Papst argues that schools increasingly value data metrics and funding stability over individual student success. The book details claims that grades were sometimes changed to passing marks, disciplinary actions reduced on paper, and academic standards adjusted to maintain positive statistics. Critics say such practices create the illusion of progress while leaving students unprepared for college or careers. Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer Across America? For many educators, teaching remains a calling rooted in service. However, Papst suggests a growing culture within some districts treats education as an administrative enterprise rather than a student-centered mission. “As enrollment declined, budgets increased,” Papst writes, pointing to rising six-figure administrative salaries even as student performance struggled. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. A National Warning? The most controversial question raised by Papst's work is whether Baltimore represents an isolated failure, or a preview of a national trend. Supporters of his reporting argue the issues are not unique to Maryland. Large school districts across the country face similar pressures: declining enrollment, rising costs, political oversight, and demands for improved performance metrics. “What's happening in Baltimore schools is not unique; it's ubiquitous,” Papst warns in his book. “That new educational mindset is spreading across the country with equally dire consequences.” Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer Across America? The idea has sparked debate across social media, where discussions about public education regularly trend on Facebook and Instagram. Parents, teachers, and policymakers continue to argue over whether systemic reform or increased funding is the answer. It is discussed across News platforms and shared on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple, and Spotify, where audiences continue to get their content. Beyond the Headlines Papst's work extends beyond a single book. Alongside Failure Factory, he has authored Devolution and Capital Murder, continuing his focus on investigative storytelling. His reporting has also expanded into podcast discussions and long-form media conversations, allowing audiences to explore education issues outside traditional television news formats. Many readers have described Failure Factory as both a warning and a call to action, a free exchange of ideas meant to spark community conversations about accountability in education. The Bigger Question If you don't live in Baltimore and think this doesn't apply to you, you may be right, or it could already be spreading like a cancer to a school system near you. As debates about public education intensify nationwide, Papst's investigation leaves communities with a difficult question: Are failing outcomes the result of underfunded schools, or has the structure of public education itself changed in ways that no longer prioritize students? You can find the show on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn, as well as read companion articles and updates on Medium, Blogspot, YouTube, and even IMDB. For parents scrolling through news feeds, listening to podcasts on Spotify, or watching investigative segments on television, the conversation is no longer confined to Baltimore. It is becoming a national dialogue about transparency, accountability, and the future of American education. Public School Failure In Baltimore: Is It Spreading Like Cancer Across America? And as Papst's reporting suggests, the answer may determine whether the next generation inherits opportunity, or a system already in decline. Diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. The next round of talks between the United States and Iran is scheduled for Thursday in Geneva. Even as US military pressure mounts, Tehran expressed hope that a nuclear agreement could be reached that would avert a looming attack. Berman updates on where things stand ahead of US President Donald Trump's State of the Union address tomorrow. We then turn back the clock to last week's inaugural Board of Peace meeting in DC. Washington secured some $7 billion in pledges toward Gaza’s recovery from key Mideast allies; five countries agreed to contribute troops to the International Stabilization Force tasked with phasing the IDF out of Gaza; and plans are advancing to deploy thousands of Palestinian police in Gaza within two months. What about Hamas demilitarization? Berman weighs in. In a program released Friday following his brief visit to Israel, right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson claimed the Israeli government targeted his family, called the Jewish state “probably the most violent country on earth” and aired numerous antisemitic tropes. This episode continues the laws of squeezing (Sechitah) on Shabbos, focusing on practical and nuanced cases. We clarify the difference between passive melting (like placing ice into a drink, which is permitted) and actively causing melting or squeezing, which may be prohibited.Key topics include:Urinating on snow: Some authorities permit it since it resembles trampling snow, while others are stringent because the melting is inevitable and directly caused.Spreading cloth over a barrel: Prohibited if it may become wet and lead to squeezing (a form of laundering). If the cloth is designated for that purpose, it may be permitted.Stuffing material into a flask opening: Forbidden due to inevitable squeezing, which can involve either laundering or extracting liquid (similar to threshing).Using a sponge: Not allowed unless it has a handle, reducing direct squeezing.Plugging a barrel hole with cloth: Debate over whether an inevitable but undesired squeezing (Psik Reisha d'lo nicha lei) is permitted. Some allow it when no benefit is gained; others prohibit it rabbinically. The shiur highlights a central principle: when an outcome is inevitable but unwanted, it may still be rabbinically prohibited on Shabbos—even without direct benefit.

Too mainstream, I think. And if you like Liverpool, wouldn't you have found another, more professional media outlet already? If that is you, I think you need to buy this book. And, first, hear about it: Alan McDougall has written what the subtitle says is a peoples' history of Liverpool F.C. I would say it's a global people's history. Published  by Cambridge University Press, the book is very readable and accessible, but with high scholarly standards. Not a straight up club history, always with an eye on culture, society and football more broadly, but never far from the club the author has grown up to love. It's a story of deindustrialization, migration, the tragedies of Heysel and Hillsborough, and Bill Shankly and Jürgen Klopp. Alan McDougall is a professor of history at the University of Guelph in Canada, and he has been on before to talk about his fabulous older book The People's Game about soccer in Eastern Germany. For this one, he has returned to his football home, and done what not many club histories do: a book you'll enjoy reading, following its connections and learning about its world even if you don't support Liverpool.HELPFUL LINKS FOR THIS EPISODE:Alan McDougall, professional pageDreams and Songs to Sing, book websiteHillsborough Law campaignHeysel Stadium catastrophe, TV footage (warning, graphic imagery)NEW: send me a text message! Beware of AI Billionaires Spreading “Swill Bucket” PR Campaigns

George Orwell spoke bluntly about the nefarious nature of advertising, calling it “the rattling of a stick inside a swill bucket.”Even Orwell, though, would've been astonished by the cacophony of swill bucket advertising currently being blasted at us by Amazon, Google, Meta, and other profiteering tech giants. What are they trying to sell?Pure hogwash. Having spent billions to develop artificial intelligence so humanoid robots can displace workers, the tech geniuses are now rushing to build thousands of vast computer data centers necessary to power their Brave New AI World. Each center wills suck up local water supplies, drastically raise people's utility bills, create monstrous industrial blight and pollution, and enthrone such autocratic thugs as Bezos, Musk, and Zuckerberg as absentee bosses with domineering power over each locality. But the billionaires forgot something: You and me. “We the People” are in open rebellion against this Orwellian future, with officials in multiple states and localities “Just Saying Hell No” to the profiteers' invasive scams. Thus, the billionaire hucksters are frantically rattling their swill sticks. For example, Mark Zuckerberg – whose Meta goliath already operates 26 massive data centers and is now spending $600 billion to plop more of them in our communities – has launched a multimillion-dollar offensive to beat back local opponents. It's running BS television ads in state capitol cities, financing political candidates to hype the data centers, deploying untold numbers of lobbyists to rig the rules against opponents, and hiring an army of “community affairs” agents to spread AI propaganda. The swill bucket brigade has the fat cats, but a groundswell of us alley cats that has them on the run. To get involved, go to mediajustice.org/tools.Do something! The Center for Media Justice has been leading the way in fighting data centers in lots of communities around the country— here's how they beat back one in Amarillo, TX, for example. Protests have been going on for weeks across the nation of Iran. The Islamic government has cut off communication networks and attacked protestors; thousands have been killed. Dr. Mike Ansari, a board member of the World Iranian Christian Alliance and the outgoing CEO of Heart4Iran, joins VOM Radio this week with an update on the current situation in Iran and how persecuted Christians are still demonstrating Christ's light and loving their neighbors even as the entire country is in turmoil. As happened during previous protests in Iran, Christians were among the first to be targeted by authorities. The Revolutionary Guard and Iranian government leaders see followers of Christ—especially those from a Muslim background—as apostate traitors to their nation and the Islamic Revolution. Dr. Ansari says despite being targeted for Christian persecution followers of Jesus are boldly serving and spreading the light of Christ. Some Christians are even risking arrest to bring injured protestors into their own homes to care for them. Learn what life is like for Christians in Iran right now, and how the government is using this organic uprising to target and persecute Christian believers. Dr. Ansari will also introduce listeners to the World Iranian Christian Alliance, and share how this movement is uniting Iranian Christian leaders to increase unity, cooperation and serve as a voice for Iranian Christians. He'll also give us specific ways to pray for our Iranian brothers and sisters in Christ right now. You can get a copy of Dr. Mike Ansari's book entitled Heart4Iran: The Forbidden Stories here. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily in 2026 for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria and Bangladesh, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content and feature films.
