Let us start off by saying EVERYONE deals with self-doubt. Especially when it comes to running your own business or making a big change in your life, it's normal to go through imposter syndrome. One way Caroline deals with self-doubt before starting something new is to acknowledge how much she'd regret not doing that thing. Yes, it's scary to navigate uncharted waters, but it's much worse to have never dipped your toes in those waters and always wondered "what if." For Jason, dealing with imposter syndrome and self-doubt comes down to challenging his own assumptions. Put your doubtful thoughts to the test and don't let them impact business decisions or life choices until they prove that negative assumptions are correct. Don't let self-doubt hold you back from getting started and don't compare where you are on your journey to the end of someone else's journey. QUESTION FOR YOU: What self-doubt are you currently dealing with in your life or business? Want to learn more about Wandering Aimfully? Whether you're starting a business or you've been on your own entrepreneurial journal for over a decade like we have, we've got some lessons learned and tips for you in this episode! When was the last time you set out to plant seeds for your business? No, not actual seeds, but tasks and to-do items that may not bear fruit for many months? This can seem difficult if you're trying hard to generate revenue right now, but it's an important way to shift your thinking to play the long-game with your biz. We also discuss how to use an "experimenter's mindset" with your business and practical next steps. So much of our positive progress and growth has come from putting our ideas and assumptions to the test (and not counting ideas out before giving them a chance!) And we chat about comparison traps, dealing with feelings of overwhelm, and focusing on taking imperfect action. Lots of goodies for you this week! QUESTION FOR YOU: What seeds are you planting for your business this year? Want to learn more about Wandering Aimfully? Taking that dream travel trip doesn't happen out of the blue. With enough planning and forward-thinking, your dream trip can be a reality with just a few simple steps we share in this week's WAIM Show episode. Some of our favorite recent trips: Tahiti (overwater bungalows!) Iceland (all the waterfalls and crazy Instagram-worthy terrains) Italy (pizza, pasta, need we say more?) Tulum (amazing beaches and food) While those big destinations are awesome, we also had a great time in British Columbia, Joshua Tree, and small towns throughout the US on various road trips! Travel is a source of inspiration and motivation for us. If we need to recharge our creative batteries we look for a new place to visit and do it on our own terms (read: no hostels... haha). We hope this episode helps you plan a dream travel trip or just inspires you to take a weekend getaway. QUESTION FOR YOU: What dream travel destination is on your list? We've come to realize that constraints and limitations don't have to be bad things. In fact, we use them to our advantage often! One of the most important parts of owning your own business is knowing how to avoid perfection and how to focus on completion. Over and over again we've seen the value in limiting how much time (or how many resources) we can use to get things done. And on the flip side, we've also used constraints to control how much we work so we can try to keep a nice balance between work and life. QUESTION FOR YOU: What constraint or limitation has helped you accomplish something recently? Want to learn more about Wandering Aimfully? Being authentic isn't just a tactic or strategy, it's the core of who you are as a person (and how you should run your business). The word "authenticity" can be a bit buzzword-y these days but if lots of people are talking about being more true to who they are, we're all for that! The key though is to not use authenticity in a fake way or an unethical way. We hope you walk away from this episode with a few ways to think about adding more authenticity to your business. We also hope you give yourself permission to show up as yourself, no matter how uncomfortable it can feel at times. QUESTION FOR YOU: What do you think your "black sheep" qualities are? What are you proud of about yourself/your business that sets you apart? Want to learn more about Wandering Aimfully?
