You may know him as Detective Harry Bosch from Amazon‘s Bosch and Bosch Legacy series, or maybe from Star Trek Voyager, Deadwood, Lost, The Mandalorian, Titans, or any of dozens other roles Titus Welliver has had in TV, Films, Animation, and Audiobooks. This week Barry, Dave and Tod sit down with Titus at Terrificon in Connecticut to talk a little bit about his career as an actor, and a whole lot about his varied, and quite familiar, collecting interests. They cover 1960's to 1980's toys, Aurora Models, firearms, and pretty much any thing that else that comes to mind. It's a great interview with a fascinating guest. Enjoy!

Who knows how far this episode will reach with something like "FEMALE" in the title, huh? Oh, we're only joking, YOU know why. In part 2 of our "August-Where-We-Cover-Films-With-Female-in-The-Title", we're looking at Susan Streitfeld's FEMALE PERVERSIONS. A film of theatrical quality and its own distinct style, it may not appeal to everyone. It may alienate others, and generate wonderment for some. It's hard to argue that the film has something to offer within the scope of exploring woman creatives and voices in cinema. Just watch out for the one-and-only Clancy Brown shine for no more than 3 scenes and basically Philip Seymour Hoffman this!
On the forty- eighth episode of ATFT, my friends, the team behind the Who Are You? podcast Connor Overbay and Shannon Overbay, join me on the fourth edition of the “fan- favorite” ATFT segment, #FilmTwitter Trends! This episode has some explicit language with some sporadic spoilers. Earlier this year, there was this trend going around #FilmTwitter (on the platform now called X) where someone would post “Comfort movie marathon, What are you watching?” along with four stills from four films to create your dream comfort film marathon. a decade and list their favorite film each year of that decade. It was challenging for us to narrow down and fill our lists but our picks often stayed within the comedy or rom- com genre. If selecting four films wasn't hard enough, I took the challenge up a notch for Connor and Shannon by making a little game out of this episode. This is the first time both Connor and Shannon have been on ATFT! Shannon and I have been friends for about five years now after meeting in a film class in college. Through her, I met her then- boyfriend, now- husband Connor and we have since gone to lunch, dinner, and podcasting events together. They were guests on an episode of my TV- focused podcast that has never been widely released, The Tube, to talk about my tied- for favorite show of all time: Homeland. As said in the episode, they are more TV aficionados so it took a long time for us to come up with a good ATFT topic for them to come on. I was a guest on their podcast nearly two years ago which remains a true highlight (click here to listen). This episode was recorded on July 24, 2025 . The Who Are You? podcast, co- hosted by Connor and Shannon, celebrated its third anniversary earlier this year and they talk with a versatile group of people in Jacksonville from fellow podcasters, those working in non- profits, small business owners, and more. And when they're not interviewing someone, they have enjoyable Sunday hang out episodes that are just the two of them chatting and coming up with funny yet thought- provoking “Top 5” lists and “Would you rather?” questions. You can listen to the Who Are You? Podcast wherever you get your podcasts but here's the link to listen on Spotify! The Overbays have officially launched a small business of their own, C2 Promotions, where they create merch for brands of any kind so if you need shirts, notebooks, water bottles, etc for your brand, go to c2-promos.com and follow their Instagram @C2promos! In this episode, Shannon, Connor, and I go through our comfort movie marathon selections and discuss them briefly as well as talking about other related films and actors along the way. Since they are married and have been together for about a decade, I turned this episode into a little game and asked them to list the four films they think the other chose… but you'll have to listen to the episode to hear how well they did! Shannon's list is pure 2000s nostalgia that includes not one but two Drew Barrymore movies. Connor recalled his childhood when choosing his four films beloved by audiences across generations. My list, which was narrowed down from about 30 to only four, includes big stars in beloved, heartwarming films. Some tangents include our celebrity crushes, whether Jack could've fit on the piece of the Titanic alongside Rose, and pondering if a hot dog is a sandwich. All this and more on the latest episode of All the Film Things! Background music created and used with permission by the Copyright Free Music - Background Music for Videos channel on YouTube.
In this episode, Professor Mouse, the Cosmologist, and Teddy discuss Wendy's Frosties, Otakon, and give some movie and dessert recs.

With seven decades in film and television, Clint Eastwood is undeniably a Hollywood institution. Emerging first as a star in Westerns, then as the embattled cop in the Dirty Harry films, the ninety-five-year-old filmmaker has directed forty features and appeared in more than sixty. The film critic Richard Brody just reviewed a new biography of Eastwood. “What fascinated me above all are the origins of Clint Eastwood-ness—the way he had an aura that preceded him before his career in movies.” Brody joins David Remnick to pick three of the films that set Eastwood apart as an artist: “Play Misty for Me,” his 1971 directorial début; “Bird,” his bio-pic about Charlie Parker; and “Sully,” starring Tom Hanks as the heroic pilot Chesley Sullenberger.

Neon couldn't burn any brighter than it is now. The film production and distribution company acquired the rights to six consecutive Palme d'Or winners at the Cannes Film Festival: Parasite (2019), Titane (2021), Triangle of Sadness (2022), Anatomy of a Fall (2023), Anora (2024), and It Was Just an Accident (2025). Parasite was the first foreign language film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2020. Longlegs became the highest-grossing independent film in 2024. Director Sean Baker won 4 Oscars for his film Anora tying with the one and only Walt Disney for most Oscar wins in a single night. All of this from a studio that's only been around for 8 years. Film industry veteran Tom Quinn cofounded Neon in 2017 and has marked a distinct lane for himself in a crowded and, let's be honest, less-than-innovative industry. In this episode of Creative Control, Quinn traces his journey from actor to executive and explains how he's positioned Neon to be the "anti-algorithm" in a streaming world. He also gives his perspective on what's holding the wider film industry back and what Neon needs now to make their success sustainable. Echo was a surprising addition to the Phase Five lineup. While the other characters in the MCU were characters with significant followings, Echo was a relatively minor character from the comics. However, due to a strong showing in the Hawkeye series, Alaqua Cox’s character was allowed to star in her own series with ramifications for... If we consider who some of the great modern Aussie cinematographers are, we immediately think of names like Michael Latham, Stefan Duscio, Jaclyn Paterson, or the man behind the camera of such films as Of an Age, You Won't Be Alone, Hafekasi, Howl, Blue Bayou, My First Summer, and Sophie Hyde's upcoming film, Jimpa.I'm of course talking about Matthew Chaung.Across his filmography, Matthew has lensed films with a level of empathy, compassion, and understanding that imbues the work with a warmth and tenderness that ensures that the stories linger in your mind long after the credits. When I think of Matthew's work, I think of the golden hour shots in Katie Found's My First Summer, or the discovery of queer identities in Goran Stolevski's intimate Of an Age, or the child level perspective of the world in Annelise Hickey's stunning Hafekasi. With Jimpa, he becomes part of Sophie Hyde's family, shooting the film with inspiration from Nan Goldin's work.In the following interview, recorded at the Sundance Film Festival in 2025, Matthew talks through his work and creative process, while also exploring the notion of what makes his cinematography unique. For Australian audiences, you can see Matthew's work in Domini Marshall's stunning new short film Howl, which is making the festival rounds. Matthew also talks about Dario Russo's new film, The Fox, which is on the horizon and stars Jai Courtney, Damon Herriman, and Emily Browning. If you're keen on finding out more about Matthew's work, visit MatthewChuang.com.Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Bluesky @thecurbau. It's the PREMIERE episode of our new limited series SERPENT'S TAIL: THE FILMS OF KIYOSHI KUROSAWA and on this episode we discuss why we chose the filmmaker as our subject, our (limited) experience with his work, a bit about his background and dive into his first two features: 1983's KANDAGAWA PERVERT WARS and 1985's BUMPKIN SOUP (aka THE EXCITEMENT OF THE DO-RE-MI-FA GIRL). Both films have a unique mix of eroticism and surrealism, and are a world away from the films we most closely associated with Kurosawa. Enjoy! The post Episode 286 – Serpent's Tail: The Films of Kiyoshi Kurosawa – Kandagawa Pervert Wars (1983) & Bumpkin Soup (1985) first appeared on Cinema Smorgasbord.
Hello, and welcome to an all-new Films for the Void, episode #110! On June 23, 2025, The New York Times released their list of The 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century, composed of the opinions of more than 500 influential directors, actors, and other notable names in Hollywood and around the world. Their thoughts on the best films released since January 1, 2000 were collected, tallied, and ranked as a touchstone for cinema so far this century. If that wasn't enough, however, The New York Times also opened a list for users to submit their ten favorite films of the century. The final list was posted on July 2, 2025 and, as an added bonus, the list contained the Top 500 films submitted in ranked order. Frankly, this was too good of an opportunity not to do a deep dive over what cinematic achievements have stuck with us the longest and learn what lessons we can learn from two-and-a-half decades of cinema. Joining me today is my friend Corey (@coreyfromhome on Letterboxd) to go through both lists, as well as go through the first 30 films on each of our own lists of the Best Films of the Century So Far!TWITTER: @films_void$3/MONTH PATREON: patreon.com/films_voidLANDON'S TWITTER @igotdefevermanLANDON'S INSTAGRAM @duhfeverLANDON'S LETTERBOXD @landondefeverArtwork by Annie CurleTheme Music by Meghan GoveEdited by Landon Defever
