Three...two...one...action! It's time to listen to every entry in WRYAT's critically acclaimed hit movie review series, The Boomer Zoomer Movie Review! It's the only show of its kind to bring together two film critics from different generations to talk about all things movies! The critics themselves are, respectively, a boomer and a zoomer who are...actually named Boomer and Zoomer. Not sure how that happened, but at least their names are consistent. The name of this show isn't, however, and you'll realize that almost immediately, but to call it The Entire Filmography of The Boomer Zoomer Movie Review/The Zoomer Boomer Movie Preview/The Boomer Zoomer Movie Recap/The Zoomer Boomer Movie Review/The Boomer Zoomer Movie Preview/The Zoomer Boomer Movie Revue and The Boomer Zoomer Movie Recap would be downright silly. However, their show's title aside, Boomer and Zoomer the people remain true to themselves and their unbridled passion for cinema throughout, and in listening to their journeys through film history, you may just end up learning something new about yourself, art, or the world we live in. You will absolutely learn how many times a grown-ass man in his late 70s can get COVID and somehow continue to live, motivated almost solely by the selfish desire to go see Forrest Gump II again in theaters, even (especially?) if it means infecting literally everyone else in attendance around them with a potentially lethal virus. So if that sounds like a good time to you, congrats, you'll get all of it and more in this taut 200-minute package. WRYAT proudly presents The Boomer Zoomer (in either order) Movie Review (or any variation thereof): The Entire Filmography for your listening consideration. Thank you, and God Bless Hollywood, USA in America.

Visual Intonation

Ella Chikezie steps into the director's chair with In Her Shoes, a short film shaped by urgency and care. Known for her work on Christmas in Lagos and in the production trenches of Choke and Tokunbo, Chikezie makes her directorial debut. The project was awarded under the initiative Using Entertainment Media to Combat Gender Based Violence in Nigeria. For Chikezie, this film is personal. It is also political. It is a quiet declaration of intent. The story follows Halima, a young autistic Muslim girl who finds freedom on a football pitch. At home and at school, she is misunderstood. Her joy is dismissed as unfeminine. Her difference is treated as a burden. As financial pressure and social expectations close in, Halima's mother considers an arranged marriage as an escape. Her father, shaken by his daughter's moments of joy, must choose between tradition and tenderness. One choice could change everything. In Her Shoes joins a strong lineage of African films that confront painful truths with purpose. Like Dazzling Mirage, The Lucky Specials, and Nawi: Dear Future Me, the film treats cinema as a tool for awareness. It addresses autism, child marriage, bullying, and gender bias without preaching. Screened at the 2025 Lagos Fringe Festival, the film announces itself with restraint and confidence. Darasimi Nadi delivers a performance of striking honesty, allowing silence and gesture to speak where words cannot. Chikezie directs with clarity and resolve. The film trusts its audience. It builds to an ending that lingers, not because it shouts, but because it refuses to look away. A girl runs. A ball rolls forward. The noise follows. In Her Shoes reminds us that change is rarely polite, often uncomfortable, and always necessary. This episode of Visual Intonation Podcast explores how one filmmaker uses story to insist on dignity, visibility, and hope.  Ella Chikezie's Filmography: imdb.com/name/nm13215349 Support the showVisual Intonation Website: https://www.visualintonations.com/Visual Intonation Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/visualintonation/Vante Gregory's Website: vantegregory.comVante Gregory's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/directedbyvante/ To support me on Patreon (thank you): patreon.com/visualintonations Tiktok: www.tiktok.com/@visualintonation Tiktok: www.tiktok.com/@directedbyvante

Susie has a theory about a scubadiving accident Sarah had ten years ago. We wonder why anyone wears a visor. We discuss the 30 for 30 short film about Black "hand clap" games that girls play, how they originated, and why we don't continue them into adulthood. We debate the virtues of locker room nudity, why it's becoming antiquated, and why some people (including Sarah want to bring it back). Susie had an accident in an Uber, and she wants everyone to know, it was not what it looked like. We talk about the filmography and comedy of Eddie Murphy, and the new documentary that chronicles his career. Plus, Susie celebrates the death of the penny, but Sarah is feeling ambivalent.00:00 - Sarah's Scuba Panic and the Mandela Effect Theory09:26 - Debating Visors and Loving Caraway Cookware & Bakeware14:41 - Exploring the History of Black Girls' Hand Games32:32 - Susie's Embarrassing Uber Incident and Naked Etiquette39:47 - The Surprising Story of Gay Rams and Rainbow Wool46:35 - Celebrating Eddie Murphy's Diverse Filmography and Artistry56:19 - Debating the End of the Penny and Our Approach to ChangeBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Visit https://auraframes.com and get $45 off Aura's best-selling Carver Mat frames - named #1 by Wirecutter - by using promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout.Visit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandy10 to take advantage of this limited-time offer for up to 20% off your next purchase.Go to https://reliefband.com to shop the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale and save up to 30% off sitewide.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This episode, we finally return to taping into a full director's filmography (mostly). Guy Ritchie has been crazy busy lately, movies and shows coming out all the time. While some see his career as being very up and down, we review and speculate why the misteps make sense, and why some of his flops deserve more credit than they get. We discuss his original short film: The Hard Case, in addition to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Swept Away, Revolvr, RocknRolla, Sherlock Holmes & Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Aladdin, The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, The Covenant, and Dustin's favorite movie of 2024 - Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (we only both didn't have time for Fountain of Youth and MobLand). It's also amazing how many times his work should have launched massive franchises, but didn't. We still hold out hope for revivals in the future! Before that, Dustin gives spoiler-free first impressions of Superman, Sinners, Jurassic World: Rebirth, Minecraft, Risen, and Monster Summer. We're going off the beaten track for this one! This latest pick by JAC is quite a unique one in that it's a fan made film, Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation. Technically shown for the first time in 1989 and an additional scene added in 2014, this is the movie that was the inspiration for the documentary, Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made.Checkout JAC's LetterBoxd review here: https://letterboxd.com/iamjacsmusings/And also JAC's podcast, Back to the Filmography, where he's currently going through every Matthew McConaughey movie.Interested listeners may watch the fan film itself, and see these moments as described at: theraiderskids.com/storeRaiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation was a homemade labor of love created by three Mississippi teenagers—Chris Strompolos, Eric Zala, and Jayson Lamb—who began the project in 1982 after being inspired by Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark. With no formal filmmaking experience, a home video camera, and a copy of the film recorded from television, they set out to recreate every scene of the movie shot-for-shot. Over seven summers, they painstakingly built sets, created costumes, and performed their own stunts—sometimes dangerously so, including setting themselves on fire and nearly flooding a basement during a boat scene. Their dedication extended to using pets in place of monkeys, rigging homemade special effects, and convincing friends and family to play supporting roles. The project was completed in 1989 when the boys graduated high school, though one scene—the airplane explosion—remained unfilmed due to budget and technical limitations. For years, the film remained mostly unseen until a VHS copy reached filmmaker Eli Roth, who showed it at the Butt-Numb-A-Thon festival in 2002. The resulting buzz led to broader recognition, admiration from Hollywood figures like Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino. In 2014, the original trio reunited to finally film the missing airplane scene, completing their youthful vision more than 30 years later. Their story is now celebrated as a testament to creativity, passion, and the enduring magic of cinema. If you enjoy the show we have a Patreon, so become a supporter.www.patreon.com/thevhsstrikesbackTrailer Guy Plot SummaryIn a world where most kids were content just watching their favorite movies, three Mississippi teens dared to remake one—shot-for-shot. Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation is the unbelievable true story of Chris, Eric, and Jayson, who, armed with a home video camera, pure determination, and a slightly unhinged sense of adventure, set out to recreate Spielberg's classic over seven summers. No budget, no stunt doubles, no clue—but what they lacked in resources, they made up for in heart. From fiery explosions in backyards to homemade boulders rolling through basements, their journey became the stuff of legend. This summer, witness the ultimate fan film that took over a decade to be discovered, and over 30 years to finish. They didn't just watch the adventure. They lived it.thevhsstrikesback@gmail.comhttps://linktr.ee/vhsstrikesback

This week Byron, Sam, and Kelly return from Contact in the Desert—the sprawling, sun-drenched gathering in Palm Springs where the leading minds (and hearts) in UAP research, consciousness studies, and high strangeness come together to explore the unknown.   Helmed by Captain Ron Janix and his team, this annual conference defies easy categorization: part symposium, part spiritual retreat, part carnival of the anomalous. But what stood out most in our first year there? The human connection—unexpected, unguarded, and deeply kind. Nearly every conversation was marked not by shouting or smug certainty, but by curiosity, generosity, and mutual respect.   Leave Us a Message! ⇒ 1-833-374-4489 (1-833-FRIGHT9)  Patreon ⇒ https://www.patreon.com/frightday  TikTok ⇒ https://www.tiktok.com/@frightdaypodcast Spotify ⇒ https://open.spotify.com/show/14ioP0zfFczK8hKPsDUmko?si=gmznX6rgSgmCp8u9tpDwZg Website ⇒ https://www.frightday.com/ Apple Podcasts ⇒ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/frightday/id951360425 Instagram ⇒ https://www.instagram.com/frightday/ X ⇒ https://x.com/frightday Media Inquiries ⇒ byron@frightday.com Chapters: 0:00 Intro 1:58 Reporter vs Researcher 3:45 Day One 4:27 Can You Eat in an Uber? 7:30 Guest Spotting & Time in the Lobby Bar 8:52 Bolts vs Woo: Handling Conspiratorial Leanings 13:11 Whitley Strieber's Reflections on Communion, Trauma, and Transformation 19:15 D.U.M.B.s to DNA 24:27 Psionics 26:23 Marc D'Antonio's balance of warmth, skepticism, and science 30:45 USO Debate 36:24 Emergency Evacuation 39:24 Podcasts in the Desert 42:21 Jeremy Corbell is PARANOID 46:19 Skywatching  51:57 CITD Changed Us! 55:29 Mitch Randall, & Ross Coulthart Keynote 59:34 Dean Alioto's Alien Perspective and James Fox's Program 1:01:45 Jesse Michels & Allen Town 1:03:04 Rogan, Gino of the Why Files 1:05:16 Last Podcast in the Desert 1:07:18 Two Hour Uber, Fourteen Hour Layover 1:19:14 Mysterious Caller...
