Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm, to water a land where no one lives, an uninhabited desert (Job 38:25-26)Most people didn't view the Great Depression as the best time to launch a toy company. But that's exactly when LEGO, the most successful toy brand of all time, was born. The company's founder, a devout Christian aptly named Ole Kirk Christiansen, had spent years building a traditional carpentry business. But by the early 1930s, business was slumping while his debts were soaring. So he pivoted to making toys like yo-yos, toy cars, and eventually LEGO bricks. And everyone told him he was out of his mind.“I think you're much too good for that, Christiansen,” one friend said. “Why don't you find something more useful to do!” The world was in crisis after all. People needed food, not toys. But Christiansen disagreed. In his own playful life and the life of the business he created to help others play well, Christiansen demonstrated a deep understanding of this truth: We mere Christians can glorify God by embracing fun, beauty, play, and “useless” work because our heavenly Father does the same. That's what we see in today's passage. God says that he sends “torrents of rain...to water a land where no one lives.” Why would God make it rain in an uninhabited desert? Apparently just for the fun of it!Commenting on this verse, theologian Dr. R. Paul Stevens says that God's playful nature should produce in his people a “freedom from the tyranny of utility.” In other words, godly play—not just productivity—pleases God.I'll be the first to admit that I am glacially slow to learning this. But by God's grace I am coming to see that play is productive for my soul and my goals. As Dr. Stuart Brown says, “In the long run, work does not work without play.”If you, like me, are not used to playing, let me encourage you to adopt this practice I recently found very helpful: Take stock of your play history. Ask yourself what you did as a kid or as an adult that felt like play. Based on my study of the work of Dr. Brown and others, I define play as any activity that has these 5 characteristics:I would say I “get” to do it rather than “have” to do itI lose track of time while I'm doing itI can't wait to do it againI can't stop talking about it with othersI have no deadline to complete the activityOnce you've made a list of things that have historically felt like play, schedule 30-90 minutes this week to engage in one of those activities knowing that you, like LEGO's founder, can glorify God as you do!

If you are spending 3, 4, 5 hours a day “engaging” on LinkedIn this is for you. If you believe you have to comment for 5 hours a day to make money, where do you see your business in 5 years? Seriously. Think about that. Because that's not scalable. That's not sustainable. And that's definitely not the kind of business I want or that you actually want either.

Beyond The Outer Realm welcomes special Guest, Luke Eastwood Host: Michelle Desrochers Date: April 8th, 2025 Episode: 546 Discussion : Luke will be discussing his new book " Scotia: The Lost Sister of Tutankhamun" From Luke's Press Release: - This is the latest book from author, folklorist and amateur historian Luke Eastwood, who has previously had success with titles such as “Kerry Folk Tales”, “Dingle Folk Tales” and “The Druid's Primer”. It also features an introduction from best-selling UK author and acclaimed archaeologist Lorraine Evans. A nation under threat and a dynasty facing collapse under a much hated, heretic king. Tracing the Amarna Egyptian royal family, from Akhenaten through to Tutankhamun and the final Pharaoh Horemheb, a picture emerges of a dynasty caught up in a religious controversy and the unfolding of an unstoppable drama. This book explores the mysterious deaths of this dynasty's pharaohs and the flight of one of its last queens, an older sister of the ill-fated Tutankhamun. Why did she flee Egypt and how? Why did she go to Spain and then Scotland? How did she come to meet her death in the West of Ireland? Contact for the show - theouterrealmcontact@gmail.com Rumble: TheOuterRealm X - MicheleDerocher Website: www.theouterrealmradio.com Please support us by Liking, Subscribing, Sharing and Commenting. Thank you all !!! About Luke: I have been involved in the arts in some shape or form since I was a teenager. I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland but spent most of my childhood and all my teenage years in Kent and Surrey, England. At 19 I moved to London to study at university and this was the beginning of my development into a semi-professional or professional artist, designer, musician, photographer and writer. In 1990, at university, I discovered the Apple MacIntosh computer which I immediately fell in love with, leading to my interest in digital art and Graphic Design (which became my career), following a stint in Mitre House Publishing for my degree industrial placement and writing for the university magazine Cityscape. I began writing poetry at the age of 15, pretty badly I might add. Over time I developed my own style of both poetry and prose. My first article was published in 1991 but a year after leaving university I left journalism aside for other activities (mainly music) until the early 2000s when I began to write more frequently. For most of the 1990s I concentrated on my band Children Of Dub and released several albums and singles during that time. A multitude of my articles in magazines and websites have been appearing in recent years, which you can find on my articles page. In 2005 my first book, on spiritual wisdom, "The Journey" was published under the pseudonym Joseph Dawton. In 2006 I was editor of a collection of poetry entitled "Where The Hazel Falls", featuring some of my poems, as well as eight other authors in Ireland.

This week on Hafta, Newslaundry's Abhinandan Sekhri, Raman Kirpal, and Manisha Pande are joined by The News Minute's Sudipto Mondal and Supreme Court lawyer Talha Abdul Rahman. On the controversial Waqf Amendment Bill, passed in Parliament this week after long fiery debates, Talha says: “Every Waqf that is now created will have to register themselves with the central depository.” He adds that the statute is “a translation of a WhatsApp forward.”Sudipto questions the motivation behind bringing in the legislation and the manner in which it will be used. He says that the new bill will now “weaponise” bulldozer demolitions, which are increasingly becoming the norm. Manisha puts focus on the misinformation being spread in mainstream media about the bill. She mentions one anchor claiming that the new bill will ensure “no one can stop the Prime Minister's plane from taking off because Waqf can no longer claim the airport.”The panel also discusses the student protests in University of Hyderabad against tree felling on 400 acres of forest land. Commenting on the Supreme Court taking suo-moto cognizance of the case, Sudipto says, “It's a great victory for people's movements, students' movements.” This and a lot more. The Outer Realm welcomes special Guest, Derrick Sole Host: Michelle Desrochers Date: April 3rd, 2025 Episode: 545 Discussion : Derrick will be talking about his interest and research into finding the obscure, the supernatural and other various mysteries to which he found in old news paper articles that span over the past 200 years. Contact for the show - theouterrealmcontact@gmail.com Rumble: TheOuterRealm X - MicheleDerocher Website: www.theouterrealmradio.com Please support us by Liking, Subscribing, Sharing and Commenting. Thank you all !!! About Our Guest: Derrick Sole has been a long time reader of old newspaper articles of the odd unearthed from online digital newspaper archives from around the world. Looking at history through this lens has always been one of his, call it, past times. One could say it's fun. Currently though, he has stepped up that custom to include the protracted process of attempting to archive as much of these unusual and odd articles confined by time that, once found, get dusted off and given their day in the light once more. These now relics of a bygone era and their tales of high strangeness get neatly tucked away within the Odd Old News Substack, nested there for everyones entertainment, but also specifically for research purposes for himself and others. Why, one might ask, would someone spend hours and hours reading the old tombs of dusty newspapers, chasing down these gems of our history. Well, It all started one day long ago with a question, he wanted to see if there where any old newspaper articles about giant hairy wild men{What they used to call Big Foot} reported on in the last 200+ years or so. Low and behold, there were, and lots of them. The search was now on and soon expanded to other topics derived from a lifetime of interest that he has had in all things of high strangeness. Sea monsters, ghost, lost cities, wild man and more. With thousands of articles at present in the archive and what seems like an uninterrupted amount more to mine from time, Odd Old News is slowly making it easier for others to unmask the odd. Don has been a Bigfoot tracker for the last 8 years, and working with Jevning Research for 3 years with William Jevning. He is an experiencer of various events that would be considered high strangeness which include, encounters with (Yei'iitsoh= Sasquatch), the Goatman, Dogman as well as having had Skinwalker Sightings. He has been witness to a UFO and ET abduction. As a reservation investigator his reports of a Lizard Man, Little People, and a Centaur would be deemed outrageous to most. Partsol, an artificial intelligence innovation firm with its global headquarters in Ireland, has announced the launch of Atai, the world's first Cognitive AI platform engineered with breakthrough AI Stem Cell technology. Atai, the company's flagship AI platform, is built on Absolute Truth algorithms that deliver forensic-grade precision and reliability, critical for high-stakes industries like finance, healthcare and legal services. Partsol is the only company in the world employing AI Stem Cells to engineer their artificial intelligence, which is rooted in the pillars of foundational science to ensure its outputs are never compromised and never hallucinate. Its AI Stem Cell technology means Atai possesses the ability to self-adapt, continuously refining its intelligence without the need for exhaustive retraining as seen in other AI systems, such as Generative AI. Absolute Truth algorithms Atai understands the cause-and-effect relationships within data, ensuring forensic-grade accuracy and that every output is rooted in truth. The platform has the ability to process complex data up to 40 times faster than conventional AI systems, empowering organisations to take real-time action with confidence. Its structured data backbone ensures unmatched reliability, making it a crucial tool for high-stakes businesses that require precision in their decision-making processes. Unlike conventional AI that relies solely on pattern recognition, Atai goes deeper, uncovering not just correlations but also the underlying reasons behind them, enabling smarter, more informed decision-making. "Atai has the true potential to completely redefine the future of artificial intelligence," said Dr. Darryl Williams, CEO of Partsol. "Atai is not just another AI platform; it's the future of decision-making for industries where precision, transparency and accountability are critical. With Atai, you can move forward with confidence, knowing every decision is grounded in Absolute Truth." "Organisations that have already trialled Atai are already experiencing transformative outcomes, including significant cost reductions, enhanced risk management and improved operational efficiency." Commenting on Partsol's decision to locate in Ireland, Dr. Williams said: "Why Ireland? Ireland offers a unique convergence of innovation, regulatory leadership, and international access, making it the ideal launchpad for Atai. The country's reputation as a European tech hub and its deep expertise in finance, legal and compliance perfectly align with our mission to deliver precision-driven AI solutions to complex, regulated industries." What is Cognitive AI? What sets Cognitive AI apart from existing AI systems is its ability to go beyond surface-level pattern detection to achieve true understanding. While conventional AI models identify correlations without necessarily grasping the underlying relationships, Cognitive AI discerns why patterns exist, differentiating between coincidence and causation. Cognitive AI continuously adapts to new information, refining its insights as conditions change. Rather than relying on static datasets or predefined rules, it integrates new data dynamically, improving the accuracy and relevance of its decision-making over time. This ability to adjust and verify information makes Cognitive AI a more reliable tool for complex problem-solving in environments where precision and accountability are essential. What are AI Stem Cells? AI Stem Cells are undifferentiated and computational core models designed to adapt and evolve into specialised solutions across limitless domains. Similar to biological stem cells, AI stem cells represent the smallest unit from which the technology can evolve into advanced structures, models or systems. The ability of stem cells to clone themselves, or take the properties of another cell, also means that AI Stem Cells are dynamic, self-adapting domains, allowing us to approach problems with previously unimaginable precision. Ergo, Ireland's largest indigenous IT solutions provider, has announced the launch of its new Cyber Resilience and Cyber Recovery Service offering to coincide with World Backup Day. Ergo's offering is a robust end-to-end solution designed to safeguard organisations against cyber threats and ensure rapid recovery in the event of a cybersecurity incident. The growth of Ireland's digital economy has created both significant opportunities and challenges for businesses across all sectors. Approximately 41% of goods and services produced in Ireland are now transacted digitally, including both digitally ordered and digitally delivered products. As a result, cyber threats pose serious risks not only to individual businesses but also to the broader economy. Cyber threats are constantly evolving and becoming more sophisticated, and ransomware attacks globally and in Ireland, are on the rise, with global security spending expected to grow by 12.2% year-on-year in 2025. If an organisation's backup solution is not immutable, it can be entirely compromised by cyber-attack, making an organisation not only vulnerable to losing business critical data but also negatively impacting its bottom line due to unplanned downtime, reputational damage and potential regulatory penalties. Figures from Ireland's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) show more than 5,000 cyberattacks were reported by companies in Ireland in 2023 with an unknown quantity of unreported attacks. Regulatory pressure in the form of NIS2, DORA, CER, PART-IS, have also forced organisations across most sectors, to have cyber resilience policies and protections in place. In today's world, businesses must be more resilient and prepared for the potential risks and threats inherent with digital platforms. Ergo's new offering, available in Ireland and Northern Ireland, leverages the latest technologies and best practices to provide an end-to-end approach to cyber resilience, from backup management and rigorous testing to 24/7 monitoring and incident response. In the event of an incident, Ergo's Cyber Resilience and Cyber Recovery Service offering, ensures that businesses can recover efficiently and effectively. Commenting on the launch, Lorne Chedzey, CIO at Ergo said: "With the increasing prevalence of cyber threats, it's no longer a question of if, but when, a business will need to recover from an incident. We've seen an uptick in the number of attacks targeting organisations of all sizes, which show no signs of slowing down, and if we follow the trends, are only going to get worse. "With scores of Irish organisations reporting significant instances of cyberattacks as reported by the NCSC each year, something needs to change. "Our new Cyber Resilience and Cyber Recovery Service Offering is designed to provide peace of mind, ensuring our clients are prepared for whatever comes their way. World Backup Day is a timely reminder of the importance of both data protection and robust cyber resilience." Raymond Bisha introduces the third instalment of a collectable series of seven albums showcasing Ukraine-born composer Alexey Shor's appealing personal style and superb craftsmanship. The programme features vivid portraits of literary figures for piano (Behzod Abduraimov) and orchestra (Kyiv Virtuosi), similarly an homage to Glinka, and a dazzling concerto for flute (Jasmine Choi). The conductors are Dmitry Yablonsky and Massimiliano Caldi. Commenting on a previous album of Shor's music (8.579061), MusicWeb International noted how Shor's popularity “is easy to understand. His idiom is highly melodic, lively, varied, deftly orchestrated – and could have been written at almost any time in the last century. His gift seems to be for the miniature, and he invests his pieces with great variety.”

Microsoft and the Analytics Institute have awarded 150 people from 13 organisations with a DataSMART Foundation Credential in Data Skills following an interactive Datathon event hosted by Microsoft in Dublin on Friday (March 21). The event enabled the participants to apply newly acquired data skills in a collaborative environment, demonstrating the practical benefits of this innovative programme. DataSMART, developed by Technology Ireland DIGITAL Skillnet in partnership with Microsoft and the Analytics Institute, is a trailblazing data literacy initiative designed for non-IT professionals who want to harness data strategically in their roles. Research shows that employees with core data skills advance faster in their careers, while organisations making data-driven decisions achieve accelerated market progress and revenue growth. Major companies including Bord Gais, Pfizer and Flutter have already enrolled employees in the programme, recognising the competitive advantage of building organisation-wide data literacy. The 12-week DataSMART programme equips professionals with foundational skills in data collection, cleaning, transformation, visualisation, and storytelling, while exploring cutting-edge topics like AI, data governance and emerging technologies. It is ideal for non-IT professionals seeking to build confidence in using data. DataSMART is particularly beneficial for large groups from the same organisation, as peer learning interactions deepen understanding and application of data concepts across departments. The programme's flexible format combines online tutorials with interactive workshops, allowing working professionals acquire valuable data literacy competence in a cost-effective way that accommodates busy schedules. Commenting, Maire Hunt, Network Director of Technology Ireland DIGITAL Skillnet, said: "The DataSMART initiative has been a resounding success, helping individuals across all sectors build the confidence and skills needed to navigate today's data-driven world. This programme has proven to be an ideal solution for organisations looking to upskill large groups of employees efficiently, ensuring their workforce can interpret and apply data to make better business decisions. "With its flexible, accessible learning approach and practical applications, DataSMART has opened new opportunities for both individuals and businesses, reinforcing the vital role of data skills in future-proofing Ireland's workforce." Russell Kane, Datathon Facilitator, of Microsoft, said: "It was fantastic to deliver a number of the online modules and subsequently to facilitate the in-person mid-review workshop as well as the full-day in-person datathon. The blended delivery method of the course allowed the participants to work through the contents of the modules at their own pace, while the in-person sessions provided invaluable opportunities for hands-on learning and real-time interactions. "The importance of this course cannot be overstated when it comes to upskilling all staff in understanding the significance and impact of data, particularly in our rapidly evolving era of AI. DataSMART empowers individuals to navigate the complexities of data with confidence, making informed decisions and driving innovation within their organisations. As AI continues to transform many sectors, equipping employees with robust data skills ensures that they remain agile and competitive in a data-driven world." Lorcan Malone, CEO, Analytics Institute, added: "The completion of the DataSMART pilot programme marks an important milestone in advancing data literacy at scale. The positive response from participating organisations highlights the growing recognition that data skills are essential across all roles and industries. By providing a structured yet flexible approach to learning, DataSMART has helped integrate data-driven thinking into everyday decision-making. Rethink Ireland launched a €1.6 million Empower Tech Futures Fund, to tackle disparities in opportunity and access to employment for marginalised young adults. Applications for this fund - with the support of JPMorganChase, the Department of Rural and Community Development and BNY - can be made at rethinkireland.ie/open-funds/ and will be open until 15 May 2025. Rethink Ireland is the funding body thinking differently to create a more just, equal and sustainable Ireland. This transformative three-year fund will award cash grants and provide dedicated business support to up to five pioneering projects or organisations based in Dublin and/or Cork committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent vulnerable young adults from accessing employment. These challenges include a lack of awareness about career opportunities, gaps in essential technical and digital skills sought by employers, and insufficient support networks to secure and sustain meaningful employment. Empower Tech Futures Fund Employment for Young Adults By tackling these obstacles head-on via skills training and direct work placements, the Fund - which has a special emphasis on digital and technology skills - will provide young adults with the confidence and connections to build lasting careers. Commenting on the Empower Tech Futures Fund, Deirdre Mortell, CEO, Rethink Ireland, said: "Every young person deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future, regardless of their background. Over the next three years, this fund will equip young adults with the necessary skills, knowledge, and networks to thrive in the 21st-century workforce bridging the skills gap, breaking down barriers to employment, providing holistic support, building employability skills, as well as enhancing the workforce development ecosystem. "We know that young people love tech, grabbing their parents' phones as soon as they are old enough to grasp! But at the same time the first generation of digital natives don't always have the digital skills needed in a workplace. With funds like this, we want to eradicate unemployment gaps and create pathways into sustainable careers, particularly in the growing tech sector." To be eligible for application an organisation must: Be based in Dublin and/or Cork Focus on young people aged 18-30 who are marginalised in the labour market. Have the motivation, capacity and a credible plan to scale their services to reach more marginalised young people over time. Advantageous criteria include projects actively engaging with young marginalised adults in the design of their programmes; and those seeking to develop digital and technology skills that are in demand across a range of employment sectors. Commenting on why they are partnering with Rethink Ireland to create this fund, Marc Hussey, Senior Country Officer, JPMorganChase Ireland said: "We remain committed to helping young people develop digital and technology skills to access jobs in high-demand sectors. We believe that business has a role to play in tackling challenges to employment in Ireland, including difficulty accessing technical skills and support networks. Our firm is committed to advancing a sustainable and inclusive economy and the Empower Tech Futures Fund is a crucial part of these efforts in Ireland" Paul Kilcullen, CEO BNY Fund Services, Ireland Country Head added: "This collaborative endeavour and dedicated fund will serve to empower young adults from disadvantaged areas in gaining access to tangible support networks, employment programmes and crucial skills development. BNY is proud to be part of this exciting new initiative in collaboration with Rethink Ireland, JPMorganChase, and the Irish Government through the Department of Rural and Community Development. Sign-up for my free 20-day devotional, The Word Before Work Foundations, at http://TWBWFoundations.com--Series: Wisdom for Work from PhilippiansDevotional: 3 of 4Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. (Philippians 3:17)Today's passage is exemplary of a command we see all throughout Paul's letters, perhaps most famously in 1 Corinthians 11:1 where the apostle said, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”Paul understood that becoming more like Christ requires us seeing flesh-and-bone models of others following Christ. And so Paul encouraged his readers to look to him as an animated, three-dimensional case study of how to glorify God in a cultural context similar to their own.Paul's words point to an important principle: If you want to know what it looks like practically to glorify God, look first to Christ and second to Christ's followers.Let me suggest you respond to that principle in two practical ways.First, send a message thanking someone whose example you've followed as they've followed Christ. Who are the men and women God has used to form who you are spiritually and professionally? A parent? A former boss? Your pastor? A mentor God used to kick-start your career? Whoever just came to mind, send them a note right now thanking them for giving you a godly example worth imitating.Second, read more Christian biographies. I read a lot of biographies of other Christians. Because case studies make the commands of Christ stickier in my mind. The authors of Made to Stick explain why, saying, “A story is powerful because it provides the context missing from abstract prose.” That's the power of biography. And oh by the way, Scripture commands that we learn from the Christian leaders who came before us. Hebrews 13:7 says, “Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” Commenting on this verse pastor John Piper says this is “a mandate for reading Christian biography.”Unfortunately, most biographies are tearfully boring and way too long. That's why I'm reimagining the genre with my next book which will introduce you to five mere Christians whose examples you and I would be wise to follow because of how well they followed the example of Christ in their work.

Dublin based aviation analytics solutions company Aerlytix has announced that it has secured a grant of €455,000 through Enterprise Ireland's Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) fund. This will directly support the development of new products and services to optimise the airline industry's analytical capabilities around fleet planning and financing. The company, which was founded in 2020, has also announced that it plans to create 23 new jobs by 2027 focusing mainly on technical and software development roles. Eight of these new roles have already been filled in recent months. This R&D project aims to create analytics software, designed with airlines, that drives fleet optimisation and enables better financial risk management. This will support the sector to resolve technical challenges, increase employment in Irish aviation companies and drive international business growth. Speaking at the announcement at Aerlytix's Dublin HQ, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke T.D said, "I wish to commend the team at Aerlytix on its recent success. Aviation is a key driver of our economy, supporting both direct and indirect employment, and provides crucial connectivity for tourism and business. Ireland is a world leader in aviation leasing whereby more than 65% of the world's aircraft are leased here. "Aerlytix continues to make significant inroads into critical segments of the aircraft leasing industry. By providing tangible solutions through innovative analytics technologies, the company is helping to reduce inefficiencies for the sector and accelerate digital transformation across individual organisations. Aerlytix has significant growth plans to further enhance its offering and scale its talented team here in Dublin and I wish the company the very best." Commenting on the announcement, Aerlytix Finance Director, Órla Kearney said: 'The grant funding from Enterprise Ireland's RD&I Programme accelerates development and delivery of our next generation technology project for customers. This investment program is propelling Irish-based technology companies forward. We are excited to extend and scale our aviation technology solutions to a broader set of international clients." Speaking on the RD&I fund, Kevin Sherry, Interim CEO, Enterprise Ireland said: "Driving substantially increased investment in Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) by Irish businesses is a key priority in Enterprise Ireland's new five-year strategy, 'Delivering for Ireland, Leading Globally'. That increased investment in innovation is a key driver in the success of Enterprise Ireland's client base both in Ireland and in international markets. "Research shows that businesses that invest in innovation have 2.5 times higher turnover and 4.7 times greater exports than companies not investing in RD&I. Aerlytix has made great progress in a short space of time to develop innovative proprietary analytics solutions for the aviation sector, an area where Ireland leads the way globally in aircraft leasing. We are delighted to support Aerlytix growth plans with significant RD&I funding targeted at supporting the company to deliver accelerated growth across global markets, develop key R&D projects, and create highly skilled new jobs in Ireland." ePower is to supply over 20 shopping centres across 14 counties nationwide with high speed EV charging points, following a partnership agreement with Lanthorn, which manages a portfolio of over €1.6bn of property throughout Ireland. Rollout will begin in 2025, and the sites where chargers will be installed include Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway, as well as busy urban areas like Navan, Dundalk, Mullingar, Athlone, Maynooth, Portlaoise and Kilkenny. ?ePower is working closely with Lanthorn in association with their project managers, KSNPM. ePower has been selected following a competitive process, which took into account the company's ability to offer high speed charging facilities, tailored specifically to each site, and crucially, the assurance that the sites would be maintained and serviced by ePower's 24/7 help desk, field engineering and remote management. Commenting on the development, John O'Keeffe, CEO of Power, said: "We're very proud to be part of the drive towards making electric vehicles a better choice for consumers. The rollout and delivery of chargers, be it through public or private partnerships, is key to this. Through this partnership with Lanthorn, ePower plans to have super-fast chargers installed at shopping centres around Ireland, from Donegal to Cork and many places in between; it's a great expansion for us in what's been a hugely successful year of growth." It's been a busy year for ePower; the company recently joined forces with Dublin's local authorities to bring online up to 200 fast chargers across the region in 2025. The initial phase of the project will see ePower's high-speed chargers installed at more than 40 Dublin locations across the four Dublin local authorities. The company also won six of 17 government contracts for the rollout of new high-speed electric car charging hubs across Ireland, due to be operational by the end of 2025. Galvia AI, one of Ireland's leading artificial intelligence companies, has announced a partnership with Sheffield Hallam University to improve student experience by implementing their AI Student Engagement Platform As a part of this collaboration, the university has launched the "Hallam Helper", a 24/7 AI chatbot designed to provide instant, personalised assistance for the university's 28,000 students on a wide range of topics spanning wellbeing, university life and campus facilities. This partnership coincides with Galvia AI's opening of its Manchester office, advancing the company's expansion into the UK and marking a significant step in the company's broader European growth strategy. Leveraging its success and momentum with large enterprise entities, the company is now focusing its ambitions across European markets, including Germany, Poland, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Galvia AI also plans on doubling its workforce in 2025, to meet the increasing demand for its cutting-edge AI solutions. Commenting on the partnership, John Clancy, CEO of Galvia AI said, "At Galvia AI, we aim to simplify the complexities of AI, and guide organisations through the often daunting experience of adopting emerging technologies. We are excited to extend our AI-driven solutions to Sheffield Hallam University, allowing them to benefit from a tailored approach to AI deployment in enhancing student services. "With Galvia gaining traction across the UK and Europe, we are looking forward to developing similar projects across key markets to make a significant impact. Dave Thornley, Head of Digital Architecture at Sheffield Hallam University said: "By integrating AI-driven support, we're providing students with a more seamless introduction to university life, making support more accessible, straightforward and immediate, and the remarkable uptake by students demonstrates this. Galvia understood our desire to extend the reach of our student service teams, rather than just replace human interaction. Their structured approach and particular experience with wellbeing queries allowed us to deploy the solution with confidence. Through unifying our data, we are now better placed to understand the evolving needs of our students, ensuring we can deliver the right support at the right time." The Hallam Helper can be accessed through Sheffield Hallam's university and mobile app, offering students real-time, 24/7 support. Through utilising conversational AI and machine learning, the chatbot delivers on-demand virtual assistance while providing the Student Services team with valuable insights into student behaviour, through its surveys and trend analysis. This week on Hafta, Newslaundry's Abhinandan Sekhri, Manisha Pande, Raman Kirpal, and Anand Vardhan are joined by Dr Sumeet Mhaskar, professor of sociology at Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, and Ajoy Bose, veteran journalist and author of Behenji: The Rise and Fall of Mayawati. The panel first discusses the controversy triggered by Samajwadi Party legislator Abu Azmi's remarks on Aurangzeb while addressing the Mughal emperor's portrayal in the film Chhava.Sumeet provides historical context to the interpretation of Aurangzeb and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's legacies in Maharashtra. Explaining how they are shaped by competing narratives, he says: “Much more communalised interpretation is projected through movies, history textbooks, and plays”. The return of Aurangzeb to headlines shows that we are using the present to judge the past, rather than letting history inform our present, he notes.Commenting on Aurangzeb's legacy, Manisha adds, “When you look at the Mughals, I would say Aurangzeb was the worst of them...He's an odd hill to die on, especially for current politicians.”The panel then analyses the “political decline” of Mayawati, and her decision to suspend nephew Akash Anand from the Bahujan Samaj Party.Ajoy terms the suspension as a “significant moment”. Commenting on Mayawati's “disruptive” thinking, he says: “If Kanshiram was the strategic genius who thought of using Dalits to become a political force, Mayawati was the person who delivered”. On where things went wrong for Mayawati, he remarks, “She got quite distracted by her prime ministerial dream being thrashed and made fundamental mistakes in handling the social alliance which brought her to power.”As Abhinandan and Sumeet point to BSP's cadre being the strength of the party, Anand underlines Mayawati's “lack of political agility” as one of the reasons for BSP's decline. Stephanie engages in a heartfelt conversation with renowned worship leader Darlene Zschech, who likes to remind us that learning to trust God is a superpower! Darlene invites us into a life of authentic worship. She challenges us to cultivate a heart rooted in humility, to pursue genuine connection with God, and to understand the profound impact of living a life centered around worship. Darlene emphasizes the necessity of approaching worship without pressure or performance. She underscores that God's love is unconditional and is not influenced by our achievements or failures. This invites us to worship and create from a place of freedom, where we can focus on building a sincere relationship with God rather than seeking approval or validation from others. Darlene shares her own journey, highlighting how she learned to adore God not for His gifts or as a task to check off, but simply to be in His presence. God's delight in us is not contingent upon our accomplishments, but is inherent to our relationship with Him. Engaging with God without any agenda other than presence leads to an authentic worship experience. Darlene's wisdom reminds us that trusting God is a superpower. Her personal experiences, including battling cancer, illustrate God's faithfulness and the necessity of discerning His voice. Humility in worship is non-negotiable. Darlene speaks to the trap of self-sufficiency, particularly for those naturally inclined to leadership and capability. She insists on the importance of shedding self-reliance and embracing humility to fully trust and depend on God. In a world craving attention, Darlene values the hidden life and the importance of remaining true to worship's essence. Her journey reminds us to fight for a culture of truth and humility. Darlene's experiences illustrate the significance of nurturing deep roots in God's Word and maintaining accountability in our faith walk. She cautions against the allure of fame and the pressure to create commercialized versions of worship, advocating instead for a focus on genuine expression that aligns with God's heart. Darlene's testimony of God's faithfulness during her battle with cancer is particularly moving, as she reminds us to trust both God's whisper and shouts alike. Nurturing a close relationship with God prepares us to discern His guidance during pivotal moments. Stephanie asks Darlene about the church's role in cultivating worship leaders. Darlene stresses the importance of mentoring and discipleship within worship teams, encouraging leaders to uphold a culture of truth, confidence, and humility. This environment ensures that the focus remains on facilitating worship towards God rather than self-glorification. Darlene's experience with Christians in India teaches us about true devotion and reliance on God. When comfort isn't an option, desperation calls out to God, showcasing His incredible faithfulness. Here are some of the key insights Stephanie will remember from her conversation with Darlene. Make them your own, or add some more! 1. Embrace Your Identity in Christ: God loves you unconditionally, regardless of your actions or achievements. 2. Delight in God's Presence: Prioritize spending time with God, not just for what you can gain, but for simply being with Him. 3. Practice Humility and Confidence: Strive for the combination of these qualities in your faith and life. 4. Cultivate a Life of Worship: Lead others to focus on God's worth, not your own abilities. 5. Seek to Align Desires with God's Will: Spend time in His word to align your heart with His plan. 6. Nurture a Hidden Life: Value your private relationship with God over public recognition. 7. Be Anchored in a Sure Foundation: Start each day with devotion and prayer, positioning yourself for what the day brings. 8. Serve with Excellence: Honor God through high standards in your work, recognizing Him as the source of your abilities. 9. Surrender to God's Will: Continually submit your life to Him and trust in His faithfulness. 10. Remember God's Faithfulness: Regularly reflect on and remember His past faithfulness as a source of encouragement. 11. Lead by Example in Worship: Facilitate a genuine connection between people and God, elevating them to see His worth. 12. Guard Your Heart: Continually examine and protect your heart against pride and complacency. 13. Embrace the Power of Influence: Use influence responsibly and to glorify God, while ensuring roots are deep in His word. 14. Remain Teachable: Continuously seek mentorship and embrace correction and growth. 15. Trust God Beyond Self-Reliance: Let go of self-sufficiency and put trust fully in God, who desires to guide your path. 16. Value Discipleship and Community: Learn from and contribute to the community around you for spiritual growth. CONNECT WITH DARLENE ZSCHECH https://www.darlenezschech.com/ “First and foremost, I am a woman who simply and wholeheartedly loves Christ, and serves Him through loving my family, serving the church, and speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” – Darlene Zschech Darlene Zschech is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter, worship leader, pastor, author, and speaker. With three GMA Dove Award nominations, the winner of GMA's International Award for influence in praise and worship, and the achievement of 16 Gold and one Platinum ARIA album, her songs have reached many nations around the world. MORE ABOUT “TESTAMENT”, DARLENE'S LATEST ALBUM New album "Testament" is not just about memories, it's a statement that worship leads to encountering Christ afresh in every moment. Australian worship leader Darlene Zschech unveils her highly anticipated studio album, “Testament.” The new release marks the milestone 30-year anniversary of “Shout to the Lord,” a song that became an anthem for the church worldwide. It is also a stake in the ground to the faithfulness of God, as the title track declares: “My testament is you.” Stirred by friends and family, Zschech crafted a collection of 25 reimagined legacy songs and five brand-new tracks. From iconic songs such as “Cry of the Broken” and “Victor's Crown,” to fresh offerings like “Spirit of the Living God” and “Yes Again,” each song carries a powerful sound that is just as vibrant today. It also features many artists like Martin Smith, SVRICINA, Mitch Wong, and Michael W. Smith among others, as well as various choirs and the Australian Christian Orchestra, creating an expansive and eclectic project filled with the sound of praise, thanksgiving, and rich collaboration. This album embodies Zschech's story and her experience of God's unfailing love, not only in worship ministry but in each intricate details of her life too. It's a family project, described by the artist as “songs that have deep meaning to my family, that have helped shape me and kept my focus heavenward.” “Testament” weaves together songs that have been the soundtrack to her children's lives, her battle with cancer, and her adventures planting churches and starting non-profits alongside her husband. It also features multiple family members, including Zschech's daughter, Zoe Cameron, on “Shout to the Lord.” Commenting on this central song, which was penned before Zoe's birth, Zschech said: “I wrote it quickly while crying out to God about our future, saying that no matter what, we will follow him. I was young in age and young in God. ‘Shout to the Lord' changed things around us, but the things that really matter never changed and never will: God is faithful and attentive to our prayers.” Harnessing this central theme of faithfulness, “Testament” communicates its close relationship to obedience and thankfulness. It's the sound flowing out of a lifetime lived with the Lord, the very meaning of worship. Zschech is adamant that worship is not a genre but the whole of one's life poured out for the glory of God: “I'll always find it hard to wrap my head around the miracle of worship, music, and song. There's really no other vehicle available to us on earth that has the ability to bring to attention our mind, auditory senses, resting our hearts, moving the soul and spirit to a point when your whole self is pointed in the one direction. Such is the power of worship as the Holy Spirit leads our heart heavenward, Jesus-ward, through the magnificent sound of sacred song.” “Testament” is not just about memories, but it's a statement that worship leads to encountering Christ afresh in every moment. Zschech's prayer is that this collection of songs would play a part in people's story as they too are reminded of God's incredible faithfulness.
