Brandi Phillips served as the featured performer and lead trainer of the Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls from 2003 to the 2016. In her lead role of the world-renowned Western entertainment company, Phillips worked tirelessly both as a center-stage performing headliner and behind the scenes, handling everything from media duties to the training of new students and horses.Recently, Phillips has spent her time in Arizona working for Gillum livestock making rope horses and still trick riding as a solo artist. Today I am speaking with Jennifer Nicholson of Riata Ranch Internationa. She has been involved with the Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls nearly since it was founded in 1976. Jennifer now directs the organization where she started as a young student and became one of the four original trick riding performers in the late 1970’s. They have performed on 4 continents and in front of such dignitaries as Queen Elizabeth. But even more than that, Riata Ranch focuses on empowering young women to reach their true potential.
