Inhabitants of the Tyneside region are undoubtedly familiar with the 19th-century song, 'The Blaydon Races'. It describes a journey from Newcastle's city centre to Blaydon to see the races, and even became immortalised in art. The song is traditionally sung in the local Geordie dialect, although over time, some of the language has softened to make it more easily understood by outsiders. Now sung at football and rugby events in the area, the song preserves a slice of history, and the characters that populated the area at the time. Given this month's focus on exploring a city's folk life through its history, looking at a folk song that came to represent the city seems the ideal subject for an episode!  But what are the Blaydon Races, and why did they end up being the subject of a music-hall song? Let's find out in this week's episode of Fabulous Folklore. The NFL Playoffs, With a Scoreboard That Actually MattersIn this pod, I discuss an exciting reveal: The official NFL Playoffs House of Strauss contest! Beyond the contest, Sports Predict co-founder Steve Kuhn and I also get into our nerdy NFL strategy obsessions and whether the league is starting to mirror the “mixed strategy” approach that took the poker world by storm. But, once again, ladies and gentlemen, we've an NFL Playoffs SportsPredict.com contest for all of you. It's all upside, no downside. We are doing sports prediction, not gambling addiction. Okay, it's a little addictive. But I digress. The point is you just have to make picks, with no capital risked. Come one, come all, see if you can predict your way to some generous prizes. From Sports Predict: The NFL postseason strips things down. Fewer games, tighter decisions, less margin for error. If you want to know how good your reads actually are, this is the moment.HoS is running a dedicated NFL postseason prediction challenge. Each playoff game comes with ten prediction markets. You can answer as many or as few as you want. There's no penalty for skipping, and scoring is based purely on accuracy. There are two ways to compete.Predictions across all rounds count toward an overall postseason leaderboard, while each playoff round also has its own standalone competition. You can jump in late and still win a round. The prize structure follows that format: a $1,000 prize for the overall postseason champion, plus additional prizes for Wild Card weekend, the Divisional round, the Conference Championships, and the Super Bowl. It's a straightforward way to engage the playoffs without betting mechanics, just decision-making under pressure.Link to the Event: https://play.sportspredict.com/LobbyDetails?id=f067dad7-cff5-46c4-8680-92faea924561&eventId=95c1be3f-7927-4a9f-8f0b-2bdc6259caf2Thanks to everyone who joined in on the Sports Predict contests this season and look forward to playing you over these next few weeks. Join Dr. Mari Swingle, author of i-Minds, Joshua Moore, Anthony Moore, John Mekrut, and host Pete Jansons for an intimate, small-group discussion on neurofeedback scope challenges, the brain science behind obesity, and revolutionary QEEG phenotyping.✅ Scope of Practice Explained: Neurofeedback providers and neurologists often clash over EEG interpretation—neurologists prioritize seizures while neurotherapists catch subtle patterns linked to mental health; the group calls for mutual respect, better cross-training, and stopping discipline-bashing.✅ Obesity Epidemic Deep Dive: Obesity is multifactorial with strong brain ties—frontal slowing on EEG (mirroring ADHD/addiction phenotypes), trauma (ACEs), sedentary behavior, and mindless eating; fidgeting burns 800–2000 extra calories daily, while drugs like Ozempic help weight but skip behavioral roots.✅ QEEG Phenotypes Insights: Joshua Moore breaks down personalizing neurofeedback and medication via individual EEG phenotypes—up to 85% mental health improvement when meds match brain patterns vs. symptom-only prescribing.✅ Additional Topics:

(The Center Square) – A new Chicago budget is set to take effect, even though the city's mayor refused to sign it. Flanked by Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates and several aldermanic allies, Mayor Brandon Johnson said Tuesday he would not sign or veto the budget passed by the city council last Saturday, but he would let it take effect to avoid risk or speculation of a government shutdown. The $16.7 billion spending plan includes higher taxes on cloud computing, liquor and plastic bags, along with rideshare surcharges and a roughly $1 billion sweep of tax-increment financing funds to Chicago Public Schools.Read more:Chicago mayor refuses to sign or veto budget at 'not a campaign event'Chicago council, 'starting to legislate,' sends $16.7 billion budget to mayorIL rep: As if Bears 'had a plan to rob the bank' before considering IndianaGas prices drop, but taxes make Illinois pricier than Midwest neighborsDOJ lawsuit against Illinois draws support from election integrity advocates  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Renegade Thinkers Unite: #2 Podcast for CMOs & B2B Marketers

Events sit at the crossroads of joy and heartburn for B2B marketers. The magic of getting customers together in real life is real, and so is the pain when sales skips the pre-work and ROI gets fuzzy. With every dollar under scrutiny, CMOs are treating events as strategic bets that have to earn their spot on the plan. In this episode, Drew talks with Charles Groome (Insightful), Jamie Gier, and Lorie Coulombe (Equity Shift) about how they decide which events to do, design experiences people remember, and turn field time into pipeline. They cover event portfolios, sales pre-work, and the simple tools that keep everyone aligned before, during, and after the show. In this episode:  Charles sorts events into three buckets, leans into a listening circuit with smaller meetups, and looks at target-account impact to decide where bigger bets belong.  Jamie frames events around getting discovered, creating memorable experiences, and driving deals, with customers on stage and pods focused on key accounts.  Lorie sets clear goals for each event, does deep homework on audiences and geographies, and locks in sales pre-work and follow-up expectations. Plus:  Build an event portfolio that blends big shows, listening trips, CABs, and customer moments.  Use themes, news hooks, and customer voices to stand out in crowded halls and drive recall.  Align sales and marketing via pods, shared KPIs, and simple scoreboards.  Tighten spend with regional focus, partner co-hosting, and clear criteria. If events are on your 2026 budget and you want them to pay in pipeline, this episode will help you pick, plan, and prove them with more confidence.  For full show notes and transcripts, visit https://renegademarketing.com/podcasts/ To learn more about CMO Huddles, visit https://cmohuddles.com/

This is the dream spot for poker tournament professionals and Justin knows exactly how to take advantage of this spot. Watch along until the end to find out how he does it! Having the chip lead on the final table is a poker superpower, it gives you the ability to apply significant payout pressure to your opponents which allows you to build your stack even bigger & increase your odds of winning the tournament. GET YOUR TICKETS NOW! THRIVE in 2026 - Women's Event: https://www.youaremore.com Hey guys — welcome to 2026.I don't know about you, but something about this year feels different to me. Not just another fresh start… but a moment. A line in the sand. A decision point. So today, I want to ask you a simple but powerful question:What does December 2026 need to look like for you to honestly say, “Wow… that was the most epic year of my life”?Because here's the truth — I've asked myself that question for the last few years. And if I'm being completely honest? While there was growth… while there was movement… I didn't accomplish what I knew I was capable of.And I had to get real with myself. This episode is about what it's actually going to take to possess — not wish for — your dreams in 2026.I talk about why hoping isn't enough anymore. Why vision without action leads to frustration. And why this year is going to require radical commitment, not comfort. We talk about:Why you must see the vision, not casually think about itWhy clarity creates movement — and confusion keeps you stuckWhy continuing the same thoughts and habits guarantees the same lifeHow comfort, certainty, and growth are constantly in tensionWhy your kids don't just need your words — they need your exampleHow stacking small wins creates momentum that changes everythingI also share personal stories — from watching my dad work third shift while building a business, to realizing how fast time moves when my kids just turned 11.This is not about hustling harder. This is about deciding — once and for all — that you are done pushing your dreams down the road.2026 doesn't need to be louder. It needs to be intentional. If you've felt emotionally thin… worn out… or like the last season took more than it gave — you are not alone. But this year can be different. And it starts with a decision.

In the final episode of 2025, I take time to reflect, express deep gratitude, and share what's coming next for The Dad Edge as we head into 2026. This episode is about honoring what this community has built together over the past ten years, celebrating the wins, and casting a clear vision for what's ahead for men who want to lead their families with intention.   I walk you through several major announcements—from the return of Wednesday Q&A with Uncle Joe, to our brand-new Dad Edge Alliance membership platform, upcoming marriage and health initiatives, and powerful in-person experiences like Men's Forge. This episode is both a thank-you and a rallying cry for men who are ready to step into the next year with clarity, purpose, and brotherhood.     Timeline Summary: [0:00] Welcoming listeners and reflecting on the final episode of 2025.
