In October 2025, Hudson and I attended the International Lineman's Rodeo. At the time, he had just graduated high school. College didn't feel like the right path. He was unsure what came next. Like so many young people today, he felt the weight of expectation but not the clarity of direction. In this episode, we sit down and talk honestly about where he's at.We talk about school. ADHD. Dyslexia. Pressure. Identity. The experience at the Rodeo. What surprised him. What shifted. And what he thinks his next steps might be.This isn't a polished success story. It's a real conversation about being 18 and trying to figure out your life.If you're young and unsure what comes next, this episode is for you.If you're a parent navigating these conversations at home, this episode is for you.If you believe there are meaningful paths outside the traditional college route, this episode is for you.Sometimes clarity doesn't come all at once.Sometimes it starts with a conversation.
In this episode of In The LOOP, Jordan Jo sits down with one of the most influential women in rodeo and Western business — Billie Bray — for a conversation that spans three decades of change, resilience, growth, and leadership. From the electric atmosphere of the 2016 USTRC Finals to the birth of million-dollar rodeos, Billie walks us through the moments that reshaped the Western industry as we know it. She shares what it was like owning and building the USTRC for 20 years, investing in the classification system that leveled the playing field, and helping grow team roping into the largest economic force in Western sports — now paying out over $100 million annually. But this episode isn't just about numbers. It's about family. It's about raising two high-level rodeo athletes. It's about watching your son win an all-around title at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo — the same arena where you once competed — and hearing him say he wants to be just like his mom. Because at the heart of it all, rodeo is still about values, family, and the culture we're fighting to preserve.

ITL goes Around The NFL as the franchise tag deadline approaches, breaking down which players could get tagged and which teams might let talent test the market. The crew also dives into reports that Baltimore is working toward a new deal with Lamar Jackson and what that could mean for the quarterback market across the league. Then the show shifts to H-Town royalty as rapper Bun B joins ITL to talk about everything he has going on with Trill Town at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, what fans can expect this year, and how the event continues to grow. The hour wraps with What's Popping alongside Bun B and a round of “Trill or Not Trill.”
ITL reacts to the national reaction surrounding the Texans trading for David Montgomery, including takes from Adam Schein, and debates whether the outside noise is fair or overblown while asking the bigger question of whether Houston will ever truly swing big for a younger, explosive running back. With the NFL Combine underway, the crew also breaks down the biggest standouts, risers, and subtle storylines shaping the draft board before wrapping the hour with the QOTD: What's a characteristic that is a red flag? Around The NFL, ITL discusses the looming franchise tag deadline and Baltimore working toward a new deal with Lamar Jackson, then welcomes Bun B to the show to talk Trill Town at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, what he has planned, and plays “Trill or Not Trill” during What's Popping. Later, the crew examines Prisco's Top 50 free agents list — including eight offensive linemen — and debates whether the Texans could realistically land two of them to stabilize the offense for C.J. Stroud, followed by Lunch-Time Confessions where Lopez calls for banning social media bullies and Draft on a Tuesday with the latest prospect buzz. The show closes by zooming out on what a true Texans makeover would look like beyond just the offensive line, questioning whether deeper philosophical or schematic changes are needed, before Figgy's Mixtape delivers the Top 10 annoying things passengers do, a potential viral idea for the station, and more off-the-wall stories.
In this episode, we sit down with Brittany Pierce and Kale Pierce of Broken Oak Ranch in Weatherford, Texas to hear how they're building a ranch rooted in the western lifestyle and driven by a simple mission: raise stock with quality, genetics, and purpose. Brittany and Kale share what goes into developing a Texas Longhorn program focused on balance and beauty—selecting cattle with powerful frames, eye-catching horn sets, and pedigrees backed by proven families, all while honoring and advancing the legacy of the breed. Then we head beyond the pasture and into the barrel horse arena, where Broken Oak competes at rodeos, futurities, and derbies nationwide. We talk about what they breed and look for in true performance horses—heart, athleticism, and longevity—and how that same standard of excellence connects everything they do. Whether you're a cattle enthusiast, a horse person, or just love a great ranch story, this episode is a look at two livestock worlds united by one clear vision—pride in every stride and every horn.Broken Oak Ranch: https://www.brokenoaklonghorns.com/Send a text From the Pasture with Hired Hand:Hired Hand Websites (@hiredhandwebsites): https://hiredhandsoftware.comHired Hand Live (@hiredhandlive): https://hiredhandlive.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/hiredhandwebsites/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HiredHandSoftwareTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@hiredhandwebsitesNewsletter: https://www.hiredhandsoftware.com/resources/stay-informed
