This week, I wanted to dive into this awesome free offering from Spitfire Audio and break it down for you guys. As a lover of orchestral music, I'm always looking for new plugins like this one to add to my arsenal, but most come with a hefty price tag. This plugin is unbelievably dope and easy to use for it being free. Download link for the plugin and template are at BassCampPodcast.com under the show notes for Episode 28.
I've been wanting to do a review of all the new features included in the Serum Update released a few weeks ago, so I'm pumped to share this episode with you all! I know there are few videos covering the update out there already, but there are a few features that seemed to have gone under the radar that are pretty cool. Full video at BassCampPodcast.com under episode 27
Watch the full video at BassCampPodcast.com under the show notes for episode 26. What's up Bass Campers, this week I wanted to breakdown the new free offering from the team over at ValhallaDSP, the Delay/Reverb fusion and aptly named Supermassive.

For this week's episode, I bring on Dante Rose (@danterosemusic), a bass producer based in LA. Watch the full video breakdown at BassCampPodcast.com in the show notes for Episode 023, as well as the free downloads (Serum Patch + Ableton Project) I built while filming this episode. This week I wanted to dive into how I made the bass patch I gave away in the free Experimental Bass Drop template a few weeks back. I also used this as an opportunity to show how I resample both within Serum and in the Ableton project to get some dope sounds. Full disclosure: this week's bass patch isn't exactly the same, but the process I walk through to get the new patch is.
Show notes and more at BassCampPodcast.com Whats up Bass Campers, for this weeks episode we have an interview with Audiowrx, a dubstep producer duo based out of British Colombia and the Bay Area in California. The duo, consisting of Dom and Cole, met over Instagram years ago and has accomplished many feats since working together such as releasing an EP on Firepower Records, having their music played out by big artists such as Bassnectar, and melting faces at the epic Shambala Music Festival multiple years in a row. Through the course of our conversation, you'll learn how these two have accomplished all of this by working together remotely, and how its not rocket science to get noticed and get signed. Audiowrx is sitting on a ton of unreleased music, so make sure you go follow them on your platform of choice (they are @audiowrx everywhere) and keep an eye out!
This weeks episode is the audio from the video breakdown on YouTube, watch it by heading to BassCampPodcast.com and navigating to episode 21. What's up Bass Campers, hope you're all staying safe during this uncertain time. Its easy to fear the worst when everyone in the world is panicking, but I've found believing the world will bounce back together and operating under that assumption is the only way forward for not only for the artists, but for everybody. Let's keep doing what we love and stay healthy and happy doing it!
Download the rack in the show notes for BC 016 at BassCampPodcast.com Hope you're all staying busy in your studio where ever are quarantining in the world. It might be frustrating for some not to be able to go outside, but for those of us like myself that spend most of our life in our studios its business as usual. Regardless, stay safe out there! But enough about the anxiety inducing reality around us at the moment...this week I wanted to give you guys a free mastering rack for Ableton. I built this rack to be produced into without a heavy load on the CPU. This one looks very similar to the one I use while working on my own tracks, the only difference is I replaced all the third party plug-ins with Ableton stock stuff so you can slap it in your projects.
For this week's episode I sat down with Trikeri, who is an up and coming experimental bass producer hailing from North Carolina. This dude's production and sound design is insane, you definitely need to go peep some of his music. Show notes for this weeks episode and all others can be found at BassCampPodcast.com

What's up Bass Campers, this week I wanted to share my thoughts on the SUBPAC S2 (2019 Edition). The name is kind of misleading since the 2019 now screams old, but it is the latest model you can buy. I recently treated myself to one of these bad boys after drooling over it for some time, and let me tell you...BEST DECISION EVER. I AM NOT affiliated with SUBPAC in any way, shape or form. Not yet at least. I am just a super stoked customer who now gets free back massages via scrolling through my 808s folder.
This week I sat down with LO WISE, a talented producer hailing from Stockton, California. This dude is super versatile and makes everything from hip hop to heavy bass heavy bangers. We talked a lot about how he processes his basses, why he ended up making the switch to Ableton, and much more. Head to BassCampPodcast.com for show notes for this episode and all others.
This week on Bass Camp, I break down the dense 2 hour Master Class from none other than JAUZ. He dropped a ton of knowledge in the lecture, and would definitely recommend watching it end to end. Be sure to checkout the show notes at BassCampPodcast.com for the full list of tips with video timestamps from the lecture!
This week I sat down with Besatree, a rapper + producer + graphic designer who's been making music for TWO DECADES! Had a ton of fun with this conversation, this dude clearly enjoys his craft and it really shows. We cover a lot over the course of our conversation, touching on everything from social media hacks to things, should you worry about using samples, being efficient with your workflow, and much more. When you wear the vocalist, producer, mixing, and design hats for as long as this dude has, you are going to have some valuable tricks and tips to share. Make sure to listen for the duration and absorb it all!
This week I wanted to highlight some of the things I learned from watching EPROM's "Making a Beat Live" stream he did (and that is now on YouTube). It sounds like he's going to do more so make sure you go subscribe to his EPROM's YouTube Channel, his streams will all be full of gems.
This week, I sat down with Deathroez, a very talented producer hailing from North Carolina. His unique sound combines elements from heavy electronic music, film scoring, and other eclectic sounds / textures. In the episode, we talk about the importance of getting out of your bedroom studio and meeting other producers, avoiding production burnout, and Deathroez drops maaaad technical knowledge and shouts out a ton of plug-ins you have to check out.
This week, I wanted to highlight the importance of looking at yourself as an asset you need to invest in to reach your dreams. You can invest in Stocks, 401K's, Real Estate, etc....but none of those investments you can directly control the outcome of. Investing in yourself and your growth is entirely within your control.
This week on Bass Camp, I sit down with desamor. He's been supported by the likes of Henry Fong, Dilion Francis, and even has a track with DJ Paul of Three Six Mafia. In the episode, we talk about using rejection as fuel to push on further, his production process, favorite plugins, and much more. This guy is a beast of a producer and a personal mentor of mine…he has so much knowledge to share and the speed at which he is able to pump out quality tracks is incredible. Producers at any level can get something out of our convo (the technical portion starts around 39 mins).
Some of you requested an episode dedicated to improving your drops, so here's my first swing at it. Making dank drops takes time to learn and experiment, but I hope that some of the information I saw in this weeks episode gives you some new ideas or starting points to continue along your journey. Hope you enjoy this weeks episode! Please reach out if you have any feedback or requests for future episodes. I made this podcast for you guys so please help me help you!
This week I sat down with BOSTN, an up and coming bass producer from LA. Make sure to support the man by throwing him a follow @bostn64 on IG and Soundcloud and @bostn on Spotify.
In this episode, I walked through how I created what I dub the "Satty Phat Rack". This is a super basic Ableton Rack I built to highlight the "Soft Clip" feature on both the Saturator and Glue Compressor within Ableton. Play around with it and tweak it, get crazy yo. To download the rack, go to DRKSTDWN.com -> Bass Camp Podcast -> Show Notes, and then click on the article for this episode (002). The download link will be in the description. If you have trouble downloading, reach out to me via DM on FB, IG, or Twitter (@drkstdwn) and I'd be happy to assist. Enjoy!
A short welcome message for all my new Bass Campers...
