This was one of my favourite conversations on the podcast ever. In this episode, we’re talking about getting back to exercise after birth. It’s everything I wish I knew— it would’ve prevented my year-long burnout. We cover: how to know when you’re ready to return to exercise, how to do so safely, and exercising with positive intentions. This episode is for the mamas! Today we are talking about teaching our kids, daughters especially, how to cultivate healthy and positive friendships. I loved this conversation because I’m a mama of 2 girls and as we were talking I was taking so many mental notes— there is so much I had never thought about before when it comes to teaching my kids how to have healthy friendships, especially since my kids are growing up with social media. If you’ve got young kids, you’ll want to listen to this one with a notepad out! Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
This is a good one! Today we are talking about tapping into pleasure. As women, we’ve been conditioned to feel uncomfortable or wrong for wanting pleasure even though it’s a natural part of being a human! In this episode, we’re talking about what pleasure is and why it matters, how pleasure affects our lives holistically (it’s not just about sex), and my favourite gem that our guest gives us: pleasure as a way to increase your resilience. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
I loved this conversation about habits and time management with our guest, Lindsay Burns. Lindsay teaches us techniques to manage our time and make habit changes without ending up in this cycle of total overhaul, giving up, and starting all over again. She’s teaching us how to create lasting sustainable habit change and manage our time in a way that aligns with our values. If you’re someone who has tried over and over again to change your habits, or you feel too busy or tired to even think about making changes, this is the episode for you. I had SO much fun recording this episode— you are going to love it! It’s also a conversation that’s a bit unexpected: today we are talking about creativity as the key to unlocking your potential and finding fulfillment. Wait! If you just thought to yourself “well I’m not creative”, or “oh, I don’t need that”, then this episode is especially for you. Our guest Natalie Davison is going to totally change the way you think of “creativity” and help you use it to become the biggest most authentic version of yourself. And it’s not all just good feelings and fulfillment that you’ll get, tapping into creativity will help you do your best work in the world. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
I’m super excited to have dietitian Jillian Reid on the podcast today! I’m lucky to have collaborated several times with Jill by teaching webinars together to help women learn to have healthy relationships with food and their bodies. In this episode, we talk about the red flags that indicate your “healthy lifestyle change” is actually a diet, what it looks like to repair your relationship with food, and how to talk about healthy eating with kids. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
Hey tired and stressed mama! If the phrase “finding balance” makes you cringe and feels impossible, this one’s for you. Today we are talking about balance for millennial moms and our guest is helping us totally shift our perspective on what it means to find balance. It does not mean doing it all! I had so many “aha” moments during this chat and I know you’ll love it too. You’ll know what balance actually means and what first steps to take, even if life feels overwhelming and busy right now. Our guest today is Dr. Amber Thornton. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
This conversation with Anna Lovind is everything you need to know when you’re starting a business. We talk about what keeps new biz owners super stuck: that “getting ready” phase and how to start making real forward motion. We also talk about a fear of failure and perfectionism and how to conquer them so you can get yourself out there— even if it feels a bit scary. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
This conversation on the podcast is SO GOOD. I think it’s what a lot of us need after being home with our partners a LOT more than usual in the past year or so. Today we are talking about reconnecting with pleasure and communicating our desires to a partner. In this episode, I’m chatting with sex coach Natasha Chentille. I loved this conversation because she reminds us that having an intimate relationship with a partner begins with the relationship we have with ourselves. YES. It always comes down to self-love doesn’t it? If that feels tricky for you, don’t worry. Natasha gives us tips for working on our relationship with ourselves so we can have a healthy relationship with others. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
This one’s for the mamas! Today we are talking about baby mama bodies. There is so much pressure on new moms to “get your pre-baby body back” and our guest on today’s episode is here to help! I really loved this conversation with Jenn Green. We talked about how to learn to accept your post-baby body and resist the pressure to have a body that looks like it never carried a baby. We also talk about how to take care of your body in a loving way instead. Accepting your body is not the same as neglecting your health. We talk about how to move your body in a way that promotes health and feels good to you. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
Today we are talking about financial wellness and generational wealth, especially for women who are building their own businesses. We’re talking about emergency funds, investments, insurance, budgets— you know, all that stuff that we wanna ignore unless it becomes urgent (I’m saying we because I’m definitely including myself in that!) This was such a good episode, I was taking down notes and felt equipped and inspired to make my own financial game plan. If figuring all of this out has been overwhelming so far and something you avoid, you’ll love this episode. Our guest, Amber Brown, helps us understand all of the important pieces to a financial plan, as well as where to start. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
TW: violence and trauma. I love this episode because our guest not only has a super inspiring story of overcoming trauma, but she also helps us see how the things blocking us from our growth and from achieving our dreams can be linked back to past emotional or traumatic experiences. If you’ve been caught in some self-sabotaging behaviours like binge eating, procrastination, or quitting before you finish something then you are going to want to listen to this episode! Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
I’m so excited to share this Becoming Vibrant story with you! In this season of the podcast, I’ve been having some guests who come on not to share their professional expertise, but to share their stories. When we hear the story of another person conquering challenges and following their dreams, it reminds us what is possible. Today we are hearing Robyn’s story. She became a mom at a young age but the entrepreneurial spirit was always a part of her so she kept going towards her dreams. We talk about the how to receive support (that can be hard, especially for women and mothers), and keeping in mind that the next generation of girls are watching us as motivation to keep going. This episode is such fun one for the biz owners and those of you who are thinking of creating your own biz! I’m chatting with Brand Astrologist Leslie Tagorda about using our star power, in particular your sun, moon, and rising signs, to create a bold and magnetic business. Chatting with Leslie gave me lots of clarity on who I am meant to serve and how to reach them through my messaging and she offers you tips and suggestions for leveraging your star power to do that too. I've got some stuff to tell you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did that sound like "we need to talk?" LOL I promise it's actually good news!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The podcast is not only my fav thing that I do (and yours too! from the looks of it) but it also encompasses all of what I have to offer and love to teach.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've been putting myself in a box.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The experts out there say "do one thing and serve one kind of person".⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But that's not me. I'm multifaceted and I want to help more than one kind of person. And if you know me, you know that once I feel like I'm in a box, I will get a fiery passion to burn it down (I didn't do well in retail LOL)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I also can't weight all of my many facets equally, so I am reprioritizing my focus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm making some changes to do business MY way and in turn serve MORE of you:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. My main channel of content creation will be the podcast with new episodes once a week.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. The podcast is not just for mompreneurs, and you'll notice in future episodes that we are covering topics of wellness, fulfillment, and confidence with a less niched down lens.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. I'm available for 2 kinds of coaching: mompreneur confidence coaching at vibrantmompreneurs.com and body confidence coaching at bodyconfidentcoaching.co , with most of my energy being channeled into body confidence.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. The podcast has its own website now at becomingvibrantpodcast.com⠀⠀
Today we are talking about self-care and support for stepmoms! It’s a topic I hadn’t even thought about before, and that’s part of the issue here. Stepmoms don't get nearly enough support. When I came across our guest and learned about what she does, I was excited because this work is so needed. I talk a lot about self-care for mamas on the podcast, with guests and just me, but I never thought about how stepmoms have a unique set of challenges they face and need support. Whether you are a stepmom or your kids have a stepmom or you know a stepmom, this episode is for you. Shownotes: becomingvibrantpodcast.com
This is a Monday Motivational Mini. I create these MMM episodes to give you the support you need from a confidence coach (like me!) right in your pocket in less than 10 minutes for a quick pep talk to get you back on your feet. This one is for when you are feeling nervous about going live. Here’s what I want you to know most of all: EVERYONE GETS NERVOUS. It does not mean that you are not good enough or that you are going to mess it up. Nervousness is a normal human feeling. Hit play on this episode to get you out of panic mode and into the best energy for showing up live.
This episode is for you if you’ve experience infant loss, preterm birth, miscarriage, birth trauma, or any difficulty in pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. It’s also for you if you are currently pregnant or trying to conceive and you’re experiencing high stress. It’s also such a good one if you’re a human. This episode completely changed the way I understand stress and I use the information I learned from our guest all the time. The way most of us understand stress is just not scientifically accurate and it leads to us struggling to reduce stress in an effective way. Our guest today is Parijat Deshpande. She is in the same business coaching group that I’m in, and I had seen her posts about her work and thought to myself “thank god she’s out there doing this work, it’s so needed!”— so of course I had to have her on the podcast! This episode is the first of a new series I’m doing on the Becoming Vibrant podcast. We’re having guests on, not as experts in their field who give us tips and information, but as fellow mompreneurs with a story to tell. Here’s why: as a mompreneur myself, I’ve experienced a hell of a journey to get to where I am. The thing is, I used to think it was just me, and that really struggling meant I wasn’t cut out for this. This changed for me when I joined the business coaching group that I’m in that is around 1700 women entrepreneurs. In that group, women were posting their stories and their struggles openly and vulnerably and I started to feel so much less alone as I read through them. I realized that the journey can sometimes be really hard, but we can still build something amazing. Today, we’re hearing Alison’s story. And I’ll tell you upfront that she had me crying more than once. My younger sister was born with special needs and this episode hit me right in the heart. Alison is the mama to a little boy named Carter who has special needs. She is also the creator of a program that helps students connect with others who might be different than themselves. She also helps empower nonprofits to make the world a better place. She’s an amazing badass mompreneur making a difference and I’m honoured to share her story with you. In this episode, we are talking about celebrating ourselves! And it feels a bit funny to even say that. But this was one of the biggest things I worked on the whole year of 2020. It doesn’t come naturally to me, and maybe it doesn’t for you either. It’s really common for ambitious and achiever types to forget to enjoy our small steps of success because we’re always looking ahead into the possibilities or what we want to accomplish next. But taking the time to celebrate your small steps keeps you motivated and gives you momentum. Tune into this episode for action steps to take to help you practice celebrating yourself. I freaking love this episode and I know you will too. At Vibrant Mompreneurs, operating from our mission is our number 1 priority. And our mission is shaped by intersectional feminism. If you resonate with the way our values are at the forefront, you’ll love this episode. This is about doing business differently than it has been modelled for us in the past. I’m so grateful to have Meghan Corneal on the podcast to talk to us about leading with our values and integrating feminism into our businesses and lives. We hit it off and talked for another hour after the recording was over. There are a handful of guests that I could talk to for days and Meghan is definitely one of them. I know you’ll love her too! In this episode, I’m talking about why asking for advice is either A) a really great thing, or B) really throwing you off course and away from your goals. Women, in particular, do the second one a lot, and I’m explaining why this particular type of advice-seeking is unhelpful and often leaves you even more confused or frustrated. This episode is something I wish I had before becoming a mama. Because I struggled so much through pregnancy and postpartum, including an emotionally traumatic birth and postpartum depression, I love having guests on to talk about maternal wellness. Your wellbeing is the most important factor to your ability to show up fully to your business. Ask me how I know— I learned it the hard way. I started my business in the midst of horrible postpartum depression and learned quickly that the better I took care of myself, the more impactful I could be. Today we’re talking with Celeste Ma’at who is a beautiful soul and a full spectrum doula. She teaches us about how a doula can support you through your whole motherhood journey, and how to reconnect with your body. If this episode caught your eye, you’re probably tired! Or maybe you’re expecting a baby right now and preparing to be tired in the near future. This episode is such a good one because with our guest today, certified sleep consultant Amanda Jewson, we cut through all the bullshit out there about baby sleep and get real about it. I realized after having two babies, and really suffering from the lack of sleep, that this is something not only I could have used help with, but lots of moms need help with. In our society, the focus is on baby, even when mama is really struggling. Amanda’s no BS approach prioritizes mama’s wellbeing and I love that because I wish I had known that it was okay to make sure that I was okay when my babies were really little. We’re talking about self-honouring ways of showing up today. Here’s why: lots of us starting out try to do ALL the social media and ALL the things. This is what we are taught to do. Show up on every social media platform and show up consistently and constantly. That can leave you feeling burned out or frustrated and it’s honestly a terrible use of your limited time and energy. In this episode, we’re talking about what to do instead. Shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast Quiz: vibrantmompreneurs.com/quiz Coaching: vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching

This is a Monday Motivational Mini. I create these MMM episodes to give you the support you need from a confidence coach (like me!) right in your pocket in less than 10 minutes for a quick pep talk to get you back on your feet. This one is for when you are feeling like you should be further along by now. Oof, this is a big one! You’re so not alone. If you feel like you’ve been working so hard and doing everything right and you’re not where you’re supposed to be, this one’s for you (and I’m sending you so much love because I’ve been there and it is so hard).
This one is an episode that I’m going to suggest to alllll my mama friends. This is exactly the conversation I wished I would’ve heard before I had my own babies. I’m so grateful to have had this conversation about matrescence with our guest Kelly Newsome Georges. Matrescence is essentially the birth of the mother. In our society, what happens to the mom after birth is not discussed nearly enough. I personally went through a full breakdown of who I thought I was and a total reawakening to who I am after I had not just my first baby but my second one too. This episode is filling in the gap that society drops the ball on so you can feel prepared, supported, and learn how to show yourself the most amazing loving care after having babies. shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast coaching: vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching
I think you might need to hear this one! So many mompreneurs get caught in this never-quite-ready-enough trap, where they want to feel fully ready before they begin something. Today’s episode is SUCH a good one for all the parents out there, especially if you have girls. We’re talking about setting our kids up to be confident as they grow up and grow into confident adults. With influences like social media and their peers at school, it’s so important to know how to help your kids cultivate confidence from a young age. In this episode, we talk with Tanya Meessmann about real ways to help your kids become more confident. shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast coaching: vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching
I'm so excited for today's episode because podcasting is not only the best thing I've ever done in my business, it's also one of the best things I've decided to do in my life! I truly love being a podcast host, and I know lots of you want to host your own podcast or show up more confidently on the podcast that you've already started. So today I'm giving you my best tips that I've learned in over a year of podcasting with over 50 episodes recorded. Shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast Coaching: vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching
After over a year of podcasting with over 50 episodes recorded, I've noticed that a lot of podcast guests, both seasoned and brand new, feel unsure of themselves. They think they're rambling or talking too much or going off subject. And I'm on the other side of the screen watching them totally nail it! Because this was so common, I made it a whole part of my podcasting process to encourage my guests and give them what they need to show up confidently-- and now I'm sharing it with you! Today we are talking about cultivating confidence— because here’s the thing: lots of the advice out there is like “just be confident!” and you’re left there asking “okay I’m trying but nothing is happening, how do I do that?”. This is kind of a fun one because I recorded it a while back when I wasn’t fully stepping into confidence coaching yet. A little while after this, I realized how fired up I was about confidence and couldn’t care less about creating meal plans and telling people what to eat. The part I really cared about was the WHY. Why women struggle with food and body image issues. It all comes down to self-worth, which is the basis for confidence. Anyway, I collaborated with today’s guest Rebecca Haydon again after this episode was recorded, as a confidence coach myself this time, and we just had a blast talking about confidence because we are on the same page, but we approach it from different angles. Rebecca is amazing at helping women change their behaviours and their limiting beliefs using NLP. If you want concrete advice on confidence-building, you’ll love this episode. This was one of my favourite episodes on the podcast so far because we dive deep into the challenges of motherhood. We all want to be amazing moms for our children, but sometimes we feel like we aren’t measuring up. Especially as mompreneurs, we can feel like we are never doing it right because we are creating a business and an identity outside of being a mother. In this episode, conscious parenting expert Miki Maruko helps us redefine what a “good mother” really means, get rid of mom guilt, and learn how to help our little ones grow into happy, healthy adults. If you feel guilty or you don’t like the way you’ve been parenting, this one is for you. Shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast Coaching: vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching
Today we’re talking about anxiety. We’re talking about what you can do if you struggle with anxiety and you try “all the things” and it seems like nothing is working. We are talking about reiki energy healing and mindfulness as complementary ways to soothe anxiety and improve your mental wellbeing. This is a fun one because our guest Kyla Schmidt is a reiki practitioner and she did a reiki session on me the day before our recording and it felt amazing. Reiki is one of those things that I was skeptical of, but I always keep an open mind so I’ve tried it before and I love it. If you’re skeptical about alternative healing modalities for anxiety, that’s totally okay, but why not give it a try right? Shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast Coaching: vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching
Today we are talking about something that many women find challenging to talk about: sexuality. You know I love a taboo topic of conversation! Sexuality can feel shameful or awkward or embarrassing because we’ve been taught that it is bad for a woman to be sexual. Your sexuality is your superpower as a woman. If you feel blocked or shut down when it comes to leaning in to your sexual nature, you’ll want to listen to this one. We talk all about how to work through the shame and negative emotions around sexuality so we can feel confident and empowered. So, let’s talk about that thing you really want to do but you’re holding back from. This episode turned out to be so much more than I thought it would. I hit record with the intention to help you start bringing some self awareness to all the ways our society, especially diet culture, influences the way we see ourselves. I ended up diving deep into two of the huge things that mompreneurs bump into as they are trying to create and expand their businesses: One is a sense of being deeply flawed and/or focusing on our flaws. The other being this feeling of unreadiness. The second one really got me fired up because I know how many of you have this big dream and this big passion that you’re stifling because you don’t feel ready or worthy of showing up yet. I can’t wait for you to listen to this episode if you find yourself holding back from showing up fully in your business. I am really excited about this one because, thanks to our special guest, I get to share something with you that absolutely changed my life. I always felt like a very sensitive child and like no one around me really understood me. I seemed to be more affected by things and would cry more and get anxious and my mom didn't really understand why. As an adult, I noticed that I get overwhelmed easily and need a lot of alone time. I also am a really deep thinker and I'm very sensitive to other people's emotions. What I know now is that I'm a highly sensitive person. This is a trait that you are born with, if you are part of the small percentage of highly sensitive people on this Earth. Being highly sensitive comes with a lot of challenges but a lot of gifts as well. Today we're talking to Julie Bjelland who helps us understand how to harness our sensitivity and take care of ourselves so we can tap into the power of our sensitivity. Today we are talking all about dressing your body shape. This was such a great conversation because, like most women, I struggled for a long time to find clothes I really loved to wear. We talk about the trap of waiting until you “lose the weight”, a new way to define “flattering”, and how to create a capsule wardrobe that works for you. No more closets full of clothes you never wear. Shownotes: vibrantmompreneurs.com/podcast vibrantmompreneurs.com/coaching
This is episode number 37 of the Becoming Vibrant podcast and today we are deep diving into the topic of self-care. Self-care can feel really hard to actually do. There are all kinds of self-care habit checklists out there and people showing off their #selfcare manicures— but what is self-care REALLY? “I know I need to take better care of myself but if feels so hard to actually do and stick to”. Is that you? If it is, keep listening. Shownotes: vibrantlywell.com/podcast
This episode should honestly be required learning for mamas. I often talk about my own experience of becoming a mother, from not knowing what to expect to birth trauma to postpartum depression, and I always talk about how I wish I would’ve known about these things BEFORE I gave birth. If you are a mama, you are pregnant now, or you’re even just considering having babies in the future, you’ll want to listen to this honest conversation about all the things women don’t know before they have a baby. For today’s episode, I had a deeply honest conversation with Emily Rose of Mama Wilder. Emily is an East coaster-turned-mountain woman, full-time student, avid home-birther, lover of women supporting women, and mom of 2. Shownotes: vibrantlywell.com/podcast
