After spotting a mug on a friends Instagram story that read “Just Keep Swimming — XO Dory,” Candace found herself reflecting on how that simple line holds deeper meaning than we often realize. In seasons where clarity feels far away and everything feels heavy, overwhelming, or uncertain, maybe we're not meant to have all the answers. Maybe we're just meant to keep going. In this episode, Candace explores the quiet resilience required in wintery seasons of life — the times when motivation dips, energy feels low, and the path forward isn't fully clear. If you're in a season where things feel hard, unclear, or slow, this episode is your gentle reminder: you don't need to figure it all out today. You just need to keep swimming.

The Heart & Mind: Emotional Resilience and Becoming the Hero of Your Life What if the quality of your life isn't determined by your circumstances… but by the alignment of your heart and mind? In today's powerful episode, we explore how emotional resilience and intentional thinking work together to create lasting peace, purpose, and transformation. Most of us were never taught how to process emotions. We learned how to perform, achieve, and push through—but not how to sit with discomfort, renew our minds, and take ownership of our inner world. In this episode, you'll learn: Why emotional resilience means being willing to feel any emotion The three ways we tend to mishandle uncomfortable feelings (and what to do instead) How emotions act as fuel—either driving your life forward or keeping you stuck The Becoming Creation Cycle: Thoughts → Feelings → Actions → Results Why you cannot simply “positive think” your way out of unprocessed pain The difference between Emotional Childhood and Emotional Adulthood How to break generational pain patterns and become the hero of your own story We also explore powerful scriptural truths including: “Above all else, guard your heart…” (Proverbs 4:23) “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2) This episode will help you stop resisting your emotions, stop blaming your circumstances, and start creating a grounded, empowered inner life. Because when your heart and mind are aligned—your outer world begins to shift.

If you've been doing everything “right” — working on yourself, showing up for everyone, trying harder every day — and you're still exhausted, it might be time for a different kind of courage. In this episode of Your Courageous Life, Kate explores why constant striving often comes from fear, not fulfillment — and how to stop equating effort with worth. You'll learn why rest is an act of bravery, how to recognize over-efforting as a control strategy, and how to reconnect with self-trust through stillness instead of struggle. If you've been stuck in burnout, perfectionism, or endless self-improvement, this conversation will help you soften, breathe, and remember that courage isn't about pushing through — it's about coming home to yourself.

In this solo episode of Bodhisattva Conversations, I explore the practice of being with uncertainty, and the truth that the only thing we are ever certain of is that nothing is certain! As human beings, we go to great lengths to construct safety. We build structures around money, work, relationships, identity, and even our spiritual beliefs. We tell ourselves that if we arrange life carefully enough, we will be protected from change. But everything changes. This episode is not about abandoning stability or rejecting the practical foundations of life, shelter, food, work, security. They support our human survival! Instead, this podcast questions where stability becomes identity, and where safety becomes attachment. What if uncertainty is not something to conquer, but something to live with? What if the fleeting nature of life is what makes it precious? When we truly accept that people will not stay forever, that circumstances will shift, that outcomes are not guaranteed, something relaxes. We begin to appreciate more. We say thank you more often. We listen more closely. We treasure the ordinary moments that are, in truth, extraordinary. The deepest safety may not be found in controlling life, but in learning to remain present within it.

Mental Toughness Mastery Podcast with Sheryl Kline, M.A. CHPC
http://www.sherylkline.com/blogIn honor of International Women's Day 2026, I'm sharing a series of research backed and proven processes that truly moves the needle for women in leadership and the organizations that rely on them.In the coming weeks, we'll focus on promotion velocity, retention protection, deepening the leadership bench, and avoiding lost productivity and lost revenue during disruptive times.Given these proven tools, repeatable processes, and pressure proofed frameworks, companies can gain measurable progress, especially when the stakes are high. Today's focus is on two underestimated levers with outsized impact: emotional resilience strategic sponsorshipAs a two-time best selling author, speaker, and certified high performance executive coach, I help women leaders and rising leaders build Olympic level confidence and FBI grade strategic influence that will help them successfully deepen and manage key relationships (internally and externally) as well remain highly performing during disruptive or during times of change.First, let's talk about the many times, invisible roadblocks.Emotional tax is alive and well. The research tells us that it gets more expensive at higher levels AND for women who are further marginalized within our gender. That matters because as stakes rise, the cost of carrying too much without the right tools and strategic sponsorship rises too. If organizations want to retain executive and high potential women, accelerate promotion velocity, and deepen their leadership bench, emotional resilience cannot be left to chance. Neither can strategic sponsorships. What if female leaders have both?Three things.Productivity holds under pressure ... and profitability improvesDuring disruption, leaders who can anchor down and keep moving protect performance. When women leaders have the tools to stay grounded, organizations avoid costly drops in execution, momentum, and outcomes. This is not just leadership development. It's profitable.Leaders stop getting pulled into ego driven dynamicsEgo and narcissistic behaviors exist in many workplaces, internally and externally. Without tools, these dynamics drain bandwidth, derail confidence, and create unnecessary conflict. With the right tools and partnerships, women learn to distance themselves from those behaviors, maneuver around them, and in some cases, get those personalities on their side to support outcomes. That is emotionally protective and tactically smart.Trust and loyalty deepen ... and relationships weather the stormAI matters. And if we hit disruption, what carries organizations through is not technology alone. It's trust, loyalty, and relationships. Leaders who deepen trust and build stronger relationships create stability during instability. That is how companies stay productive and profitable when things get noisy. What can organizations give?First, give proven strategies to sharpen Clarity from the third person. If you've been in my community for a bit, you've heard me say.... Stress has become a way of life—but what if everything you've been told about it is incomplete?
In this episode of Acta Non Verba, Marcus Aurelius Anderson sits down with legendary self-defense expert and fear management coach Tony Blauer for an in-depth discussion on betrayal, resilience, and the power of managing fear in business and life. Tony shares candid stories of being betrayed by trusted partners and employees over his 40+ year career, revealing how he's shortened his recovery time from months to mere hours through the principles he teaches. The conversation explores the "timeline of violence" concept applied to business relationships, the importance of trusting your instincts, and why fear—when properly managed—becomes your greatest asset rather than your enemy. Episode Highlights [4:18] Betrayal is Inevitable for Innovators - If you're creating something original and breaking new ground, people will copy you. Tony shares how he went from taking months to recover from betrayal to processing it in 24 hours by building his "resilience muscle" through experience and applying his own fear management principles. [33:34] The Three I's: Instincts, Intuition, and Intelligence - Tony reveals the core of his SPEAR system's soft skills: your instincts give you a "bad feeling," your intuition whispers warnings, but cognitive dissonance often makes you ignore both. Learning to trust these signals and "choose safety" is critical in business partnerships, relationships, and dangerous situations. [53:54] You Can't Be Brave If You're Not Afraid - The primary ingredient of courage is fear. Tony explains why there are things in life you must do afraid, and you'll never not be afraid of them. The key is managing fear rather than eliminating it—mismanaged fear is always negative, but managed fear is always positive. [69:50] The Rational-Lie - We all rationalize why we should or shouldn't do something, but when you put a hyphen between "rational" and "lie," you realize you're selling yourself a story. Tony shares how recognizing your rational-lies—whether in business decisions, relationships, or self-defense situations—is the first step to making better choices. Tony Blauer is a pioneer in close-quarters combat, self-defense, and fear management training with over 40 years of experience. He created the SPEAR System (Spontaneous Protection Enabling Accelerated Response), the world's only behaviorally-based self-defense protocol founded on neurobiology, kinesiology, and psychology. Tony has trained military special forces, law enforcement agencies, and martial artists worldwide, and his research on fear and human performance has influenced everyone from Hollywood actors to elite operators. He's also developed the "Know Fear" program, teaching people how to convert fear into fuel for peak performance in high-stress situations. At 65, Tony continues to innovate and mentor through Blauer Training Systems, sharing hard-won wisdom on resilience, courage, and the intersection of physical and psychological preparedness. Have you been feeling an unexplained anxiety, a low-grade tension, or a sadness with no clear source? Do you feel perpetually “on alert,” emotionally raw, or disconnected from joy even when your personal life seems stable? You are not broken, and you are not alone. In this episode of Infinite Life, Infinite Wisdom, Susan Grau addresses the palpable yet often nameless weight so many are carrying. This isn't about politics or prediction. It's a compassionate exploration of what it means to be a sensitive, perceptive human when the collective consciousness itself feels dysregulated.Susan explains how widespread grief, fear, and unresolved trauma create an atmosphere of “ambient suffering” that our nervous systems, especially those of empaths, healers, and caregivers, cannot help but absorb. This leads to symptoms like chronic anxiety, irritability, emotional numbness, brain fog, and exhausting mental loops as our systems search for closure and safety that the external world cannot provide.Moving beyond spiritual bypassing, Susan offers a practical and somatic path back to yourself. She reframes anxiety not as a thought problem, but as a nervous system signal. She redefines confusion not as incompetence, but as the necessary “space between stories” when old maps no longer fit. The core of healing, she reveals, lies in one vital shift, moving from the question “Is this story true?” to “Is this story regulating my nervous system?”This episode is a gentle, firm guide to empowerment through inner authority. It's about learning to discern what energy is yours to carry and what belongs to the collective, and how to release the latter without guilt. Susan provides actionable anchors, like pausing your internal narrative, regulating your body, and shrinking your timeframe to the present moment, to help you reclaim your grounding, your peace, and your power. In This Episode:[00:00] Introduction [01:24] Collective emotional overwhelm[02:38] Dysregulation and self-regulation[03:38] Ambient suffering and emotional reactivity[06:12] Nervous system and collective stress[07:27] Symptoms of overload and disconnection[08:24] Anxiety: body vs. mind[10:30] Confusion as a developmental stage[12:40] The stories we tell ourselves[14:50] Survival stories and letting go[16:58] Regulating the nervous system[19:01] Empowerment without bypassing[20:17] Personal vs. collective anxiety[22:36] Grounding and sensation of safety[24:06] Returning to self: practical solutions[25:42] The limits of control and self-relationship[28:55] ConclusionNotable Quotes[01:19] "Nothing's wrong with you. And I don't mean that in a motivational way. I mean it in a psychological way. In an emotional way."[02:59] "We don't need to bury our heads in the sand... But how do we self-regulate so that we can handle what's going on?"[08:19] "Our nervous system needs closure, and when it doesn't have it, it plays a loop in our brains."[11:21] "Confusion is the space between the stories."[11:38] "The old map no longer fits, but the new map hasn't been drawn yet."[16:27] "A thought can feel absolutely true and still not be truth."[21:38] "You are not meant to metabolize the entire world. You are allowed to release what does not belong to you."[22:43] "Safety is not an idea. It's a sensation."[19:01] "Empowerment doesn't have to be loud.."[29:02] "The only control you have is over you. And that is the scariest comment, isn't it?"[30:08] "Don't run from fear. Shake hands with it, face it and look it in the eye."Susan GrauSusan Grau is an internationally celebrated intuitive life coach, a key opinion leader, author, medium and speaker, who discovered her ability to communicate with the spirit world after a near-death experience at age four. Trained by Dr. Raymond Moody, James Van Praagh, and Lisa Williams, Susan is a Reiki Master, hypnotherapist, and grief therapist. You've heard "self-care" a million times, but what does it actually mean to put yourself first when the world feels heavy, everyone needs something from you, and burnout is practically a badge of honor? In this episode, we flip the script: self-care isn't a luxury, a mani-pedi, or something you "earn." It's the foundation of presence, emotional resilience, and the only way to sustainably show up for others. We share what real self-care looks like (from morning silence to intuitive breaks), why boundaries matter, and how vulnerability, not perfection, builds trust, health, and connection. This one's both a reminder and a call to action: take care of you first, so everything else has meaning and energy behind it. Some key takeaways from this episode: Self-care fuels everything else. Putting yourself first is what lets you show up for everyone else. It's not about facials or free time, it's about what actually recharges you so you don't burn out trying to hold it all together. There's no one-size-fits-all. Whether it's a quiet morning or simply knowing when to pause, the point isn't perfection, it's presence. Tune in, check in, and adjust as you go. Support should feel like support. A few people who honor your boundaries and show up when it counts will always matter more than a crowd. Community is quality, not quantity.

Six weeks before I recorded this episode, I woke up early with my heart pounding so hard I couldn't ignore it. The house was dark, everything was quiet, and as I lay there thinking about the medication I was on, the surgeries I'd been through, the pace I'd been keeping, this thought came to me so clearly: This is my life. No one is going to fix this for me. I am the one who has to change this. I was dealing with chronic health issues, and my body was forcing me to confront some hard truths about how I was living. That morning, I realized I couldn't keep pushing through and ignoring what my body was trying to tell me. So I did something that terrified me—I took a full month off from my podcast even though I had 40 people waiting to be guests. That was back in 2019, and I'm re-airing this episode now because I'm taking my own advice again. This time it's different—my health issues from 2019 have resolved, and I'm not in crisis mode. I'm pausing this February simply because I need space to breathe, think, and recalibrate. I'm not waiting for the summer chaos or for things to fall apart. I'm choosing rest before I need it desperately, and I want you to know that you can do the same. In this episode, you'll learn:
What happens when an 18-year-old says out loud what most adults are afraid to admit? In this episode of Men Talking Mindfulness, Will Schneider and Jon Macaskill sit down with Carter Helbig—the youngest guest in the show's history and the voice behind a viral graduation speech that reached millions.Carter speaks openly about grief, suicide loss, gratitude, and growing up under constant pressure. Through his own story, he reminds us of a simple but powerful truth: you always have a choice in how you show up for other people.Together, they explore how silence, comparison, and social media algorithms are shaping young men's mental health—and why choosing kindness, presence, and responsibility still matters, even when life feels heavy. In this episode, you'll hear:• Why “you always have a choice” became the core of Carter's message• How grief and gratitude can exist at the same time• Why you never know what someone is carrying• The danger of assuming malice instead of humanity• How social media pressure impacts Gen Z men• Why asking for help is an act of strength• What fathers, mentors, and leaders can do to make young men feel seenIf you've ever felt overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to show up for others, this conversation is a reminder that small choices still matter.Sponsor:Peptides for Health by Mark L. Transformation isn't a straight line — it's a stretch of uncertainty between letting go of who you were and stepping into who you're becoming. In this episode of Your Courageous Life, Kate explores how to navigate that uncomfortable in-between space — the “messy middle” where old patterns are falling away and new ones haven't fully formed. You'll learn why this stage feels so disorienting, how to stop rushing through it, and how to recognize small signs of growth even when it feels like nothing's changing. If you've been questioning yourself or feeling like you're stuck between chapters, this episode will remind you that confusion isn't failure — it's the bridge to becoming.
If life feels like Groundhog Day, it may not be that you're stuck—you may be replaying. In this episode, we explore how true freedom begins with self-trust and radical honesty. We talk about releasing the need to prove ourselves, remembering that the deeper purpose of life is to truly know, love, and accept who we are at our core. When patterns repeat, we invite gentle inquiry: What am I unwilling to see here? and What is the gift trying to emerge? We also discuss the importance of weaving kindness, joy, fun, laughter, and curiosity into each day—because these qualities help us shift perspective, soften resistance, and open the door to new ways of being. This conversation is an invitation to step out of repetition and into conscious choice.Have you joined our Facebook Group yet? Let's unpack a truth most people don't want to admit: the thing you're avoiding is action. When you leave inaction untouched, it does not sit quietly. It grows. It drains you. And it quietly reshapes your life through mental drag, stress, and procrastination. Unaddressed conversations don't sit still. Ignored decisions don't pause. Delayed action doesn't disappear. It compounds. It leaks energy, creates anxiety, and slowly trains your nervous system to stay stuck. In this episode, Troy introduces the Bison Theory, a counterintuitive truth rooted in real behavior: while most animals run away from storms and stay trapped in them longer, bison run straight into the storm, shortening how long they suffer. This episode isn't about hype or grit for grit's sake. It's about why facing the thing you're avoiding is the fastest path to transformation, and how movement, not certainty, is what breaks the loop. If you've felt the weight of indecision, the drag of unfinished business, or the mental exhaustion of too many open loops, this conversation will feel uncomfortably familiar in the best way. This Episode Covers:Why avoidance is active, not neutral, and how it quietly compounds stressHow “direction determines duration” when it comes to pain and changeWhy facing the storm creates momentum even before clarity shows upHow anticipation of pain often hurts longer than the pain itselfThe real reason action restores energy faster than motivation ever willHow to stop negotiating with reality and start reclaiming agencyWhy transformation begins the moment you turn toward what you've been running fromBeyond The Episode Gems:Subscribe To My New Weekly LinkedIn Newsletter: Strategize. Did you know that gaslighting doesn't only happen in romantic relationships, but can show up in families, friendships, workplaces, spiritual spaces, and even inside your own mind long after the other person is gone?In this episode of Infinite Life, Infinite Wisdom, Susan Grau talks honestly about gaslighting, not as a buzzword, but as something that slowly teaches you to doubt yourself. Your memory. Your feelings. Your intuition. Drawing from her own experience and the work she's done with clients, Susan explains how gaslighting can leave you disconnected from your body, unsure of your truth, and constantly questioning whether you were right or wrong. She shares why the impact of gaslighting often continues long after the relationship or situation has ended, and why that ongoing self-doubt isn't a flaw. It's a survival response. Susan also talks about what healing really looks like, and it's not dramatic or confrontational. It's quiet and reparative. Learning to believe in yourself again. Reducing contact with invalidating energy. Setting clearer boundaries. Letting yourself rest, pause, and be silent without guilt. This episode is a gentle reminder that if you were gaslit, you were not weak. You were trusting, open, and human. Healing begins when you stop looking to others for closure and start choosing yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable. In This Episode:[00:00] Introduction [01:30] Gaslighting beyond romantic relationships[02:46] Defining gaslighting and its effects[04:02] Common phrases and accountability avoidance[05:22] Impact on intuition and self-trust[06:44] Personal experience and disconnection[08:57] Overriding intuition and survival response[10:10] Self-abandonment and explaining pain[11:12] Avoiding invalidating people and relearning self-care[12:18] Reparative self-care and trusting yourself[13:33] Physical responses and recognizing gaslighting[14:37] Slowing down and silence without guilt[15:49] Setting boundaries and reducing exposure[17:46] Distance as protection, not punishment[18:42] Self-love as loyalty and choosing peace[19:47] Why people stay and the role of hope[22:02] Healing feels quieter and rooted[23:13] Freedom from needing admission[24:34] The loop: replaying conversations[25:33] Closure comes from within[26:40] Breaking the loop and nervous system repair[27:47] Longer gaps and present-moment healing[28:53] Self-love means releasing the need for clarity[29:30] Conclusion Notable Quotes[03:26] “You stop asking, ‘Is this okay?' If you've been working hard, growing, achieving — and still don't feel confident — you're not alone. In this episode of Your Courageous Life, Kate breaks down the hidden habits that quietly erode confidence, even in capable people. You'll learn why constantly seeking validation undermines self-trust, how humility sometimes becomes self-erasure, and why waiting to “feel ready” keeps you stuck in doubt.Grounded in psychology and courage-based practice, this episode teaches you how to rebuild authentic confidence from the inside out — one small act of self-trust at a time.Because confidence doesn't come from hype or perfection — it comes from choosing yourself.
Send us a textCriticism is one of the hardest parts of leadership that nobody really prepares you for. It's one thing to build systems, run a business, or make decisions. It's another thing entirely to stay grounded when people question you, misunderstand you, or speak about your work in ways that feel personal and painful. In this episode, we talk about what it actually feels like to be criticized when you're building something meaningful. We break down why criticism shows up more when you grow, why it often says more about the person speaking than the person building, and how easy it is to start shrinking when the noise gets loud.We also talk about protecting your energy, resisting the urge to explain yourself to everyone, and learning to let your work speak louder than your reactions.Leadership isn't about being liked. It's about being steady. And sometimes the strongest thing you can do is keep building quietly, even when it hurts.Your business should serve you, so that you can serve others. And your leadership should be strong enough to stand when the noise tries to shake it.Key TakeawaysCriticism usually shows up when you're becoming visible or growing.Nobody who is building more than you is trying to tear you down.Shrinking to avoid pain is more dangerous than standing through it.Leadership isn't about approval; it's about steadiness. The hive mindset feeds on insecurity and fear.Copying is often a way to avoid responsibility. You don't need to explain yourself to people committed to misunderstanding you.Protecting your energy is part of leadership.Let your work be louder than your reactions.Growth requires emotional strength, not just skill.Time Stamps00:00 — Why criticism hurts more than people admit 02:00 — Jen's opening take: protecting health and energy 05:00 — Todd's opening take: partnerships are 100/100 09:00 — Why criticism shows up when you grow 12:00 — “Nobody doing more than you is attacking you” 14:00 — The hive mindset and piling on 17:00 — Envy, fear, and scarcity thinking 20:00 — Why copying feels safer than leading 23:00 — Shrinking vs standing firm 26:00 — Why leaders don't explain themselves online 29:00 — Anchoring to your values 32:00 — Protecting your energy and choosing your rooms 35:00 — Mental health and processing pain 38:00 — Letting your work speak 41:00 — Final thoughts: build anywayLinks and Stuff:Our Newsletter Mentoring InquiriesFind more of our things:InstagramHello Hair Pro Website

Cutting off family and chronic therapy have become normalized, yet people feel more disconnected than ever. What's labeled as healing often rewards avoidance and quietly erodes emotional resilience. We dive deeper into this in the latest Habits & Hustle with Tania Khazaal. We also chat about why therapy can keep people stuck instead of healing, how “protecting your peace” often protects pain, and why most people quit in the valley of despair right before real growth begins.
