When Alex sent me the article about a Cybersex club as background to this episode's discussion, I was sold on the idea immediately. The sex industry has always been a part of society. For as long as communities have existed, sex has been traded in one form or another. Sex is the vehicle through which society grows, quite literally.Sex motivates and inspires and innovates. Sex pushes boundaries in ways most sectors cannot fathom. However sex and the sex industry must adhere to very specific rules if they are to operate in a law-abiding society and the first rule is legal consent. Here are some links Alex wanted to share:The New Age of Sexism: How the AI Revolution is Reinventing Misogyny, by Laura Bates (reading her books in general is a good idea, as she has evolved into an excellent resource for fighting misogyny).https://www.awesomebooks.com/book/9781471190483/the-new-age-of-sexismYour Brain on Porn: Internet Pornography and The Emerging Science of Addiction, by Gary Wilson (this book is ten years old but is a good fence-post of significant research, even if I do not agree with all of it).https://www.awesomebooks.com/book/9780993161605/your-brain-on-pornTakedown: Inside The Fight To Shut Down Pornhub for Child Abuse, Rape, and Sex Trafficking, by Laila Mickelwait.(This is only available in Kindle or Audio format)https://amzn.eu/d/e0cqrdMI can be found here, if anyone is nuts enough to want to talk to me.https://bsky.app/profile/underdark.mediaI welcome opinions of every kind so please come and find me on social media at:Instagram: TwoandaMicTwitter: TwoandaMic1Should I really have to ask?
Chatting with Suzanne Woods Fisher is always a pleasure, and this interview was delightful as well. Learning all about her new series got me excited to read her latest release, Capture the Moment. Listen in and see what's up with her national parks series! note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Photography is something we don't see enough of in Christian fiction. Maybe I've just missed all the books, but I can only name a small handful with that as a key component of the story. Add to that a bear and a bunch of people wanting photos of it, oh... and this park ranger who might actually help out with the capturing of this photo and... SUSPENSE? What? EEEP! I mean, I'm calling it suspense, because like, duh! Someone with not-so-good motives toward a bear and anyone who gets in the way of said bear? TOTALLY suspenseful in my book. Capture the Moment by Suzanne Woods Fisher She's ready for adventure--isn't she? Kate Cunningham is facing the opportunity of a lifetime. As a zoo photographer, she's spent years photographing animals in carefully controlled environments, but now National Geographic has dangled an irresistible prize: If Kate can snag a unique photo of a legendary bear in Grand Teton National Park, they just might publish it. It's the kind of challenge Kate has been waiting for, and she's eager to prove herself in the wild. With more enthusiasm than experience, Kate soon realizes that capturing an image of this bear isn't as simple as she hoped. Fortunately, she crosses paths with Grant Cooper, a seasonal park ranger who knows the terrain--and the bears--better than anyone. His tracking skills could be exactly what Kate needs to succeed, and it doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes. But they're not the only ones with an interest in the park's most famous bear. And his motives are far from innocent. A clean, kisses-only contemporary romance and summer read by Suzanne Woods Fisher for wildlife, travel, and photography enthusiasts set in Grand Teton National Park. This week on Hey Sis, Eat This, we're excited to have sisterpreneurs Jocelyn and Jordan on the show. They're the brains behind This Girl Walks Into a Bar, a tasty line of organic cocktail mixers. They share how they built their brand from a love of good drinks and a cool idea to create something together. They talk about how their passion for entertaining and using healthy ingredients led them to make a line of cocktail mixers including flavors for a Margarita, Bloody Mary, and Pineapple Mint Mojito — all made with real citrus and no dyes or preservatives. Jordan also opens up about losing her home in the Palisades fires and how she's been rebuilding her life and their business, plus how her sister Jocelyn and her family have been there for her through it all. As always, we get into the inspiring story of their amazing Momma Jeannie—supportive, creative, and still painting at 79. They describe how her nurturing and creative vibe shows in everything she does — from her art career to throwing fun themed dinner parties while they were growing up. It's clear that Jeannie's drive and determination are what helped Jocelyn and Jordan become the successful women they are today. We chat about favorite recipes like Hamburger Pie, Momma Jeannie's love of tape, and how a Barbie dress saved a family road trip. Whether you're feeling tart, spicy or tropical, stir up a batch of cocktails from This Girls Walks Into a Bar mixers to enjoy this episode! Cheers! Subscribe to our newsletter, the Vulnerabilitea-mail - www.theimperfects.com.au As the title suggests, Nas Campanella is really cool (and accomplished and driven and resilient). You might recognise her voice from the Triple J cinematic universe or know her work as the Disability Affairs Reporter for the ABC. But what you might not know is that Nas is vision impaired, or that a neurological condition means that she can’t read braille either. In this episode of The Vulnerabilitea House, Nas answers the questions “what childhood challenges best prepared you for adulthood?” Chatting to Hugh, Ryan and Josh, Nas talks about her relationship with her disability, and how it shapes her identity. Nas also dives into a powerful conversation with the guys about the role agency and accessibility in the experience of discrimination, and shares why, if a magical operation could restore her sight, she wouldn’t change a thing. Nas, it has been an absolute joy.

Not only is this episode a list of our past guests and a list of OAS episodes, I put local music from SLC, UT on the soundtrack. Except for the intro. The intro is Swedish black metal band Cloak of Ravens. It is a short clip from the song 'Esoteric Revelations and the Night the Varg Ceased to Be'. Find them on the Spotify. Also in this episode Tony bails out during the break and leaves me to close the second half on my own. Our on going theme of "terrible soundcheck" still applies
On this episode, we're thrilled to host renowned chef and spice connoisseur Chef Lior Lev Sercarz, aka the Spice King and founder of the spice emporium, La Boite. Lior takes us across the globe — from his childhood on a kibbutz in Israel just miles from Lebanon, where he learned the importance of communal eating, to his culinary adventures in France that sparked his love for spices. After his family eventually left the kibbutz and his parents worked later, Chef Lior often found himself in the kitchen reading cook books while getting dinner ready for his family. As a young man, Lior served in the Israeli military, where he discovered his passion for cooking when he saw how much comfort a warm meal could bring to those he was feeding. This passion led him to attend culinary school in France, where his fascination with spices blossomed. Over a 30-year career, he has traveled the globe in search of the finest, most premium spices. Today, he shares his curated selections with everyone—from home cooks to Michelin-starred restaurants and celebrity chefs. Lior also shares the magic behind some of his signature blends, discusses his beloved cookbook A Middle Eastern Pantry, and explains how spices can transform everyday cooking into extraordinary experiences. He offers an inside look into sourcing his top-tier spices from around the world, revealing how climate and demand can influence the ingredients that go into your spice rack. Whether you're a home cook, a professional chef, or simply a spice lover, this episode will inspire you to elevate your dishes and embrace the joy of flavorful, intentional cooking. Magicians Without Borders has brought free magic shows to 40 countries and approximately a million people, and it provides free three-to-four-year education programs in magic to thousands of young people in “the forgotten places of the world.” Carlos Lopez, a leader of Magicians Without Borders, unpacks the developmental power of magic when it is taught to young people in impoverished communities. “If your situation seems impossible,” he says. “If you see and experience wonder, it might awaken hope that the impossible can become possible.” Chatting with host Desire Wandan, Lopez shares his journey from a privileged life in Bogota, Colombia, to teaching magic in slums and refugee camps worldwide. In the process, he has, in his words, helped to create “social tissue that is weaving lives together that were not supposed to be intertwined.” Website: https://www.magicianswithoutborders.com/ https://www.carloslopez.co/ Instagram: @carloshlopez @magicianswithoutborders ----more---- Welcome to All Power to the Developing, a podcast of the East Side Institute. You “kinda” don't want to miss this week's episode of Hey Sis, Eat This, as we welcome special guests Julie Paiva, a talented screenwriter known for Kinda Pregnant, now airing on Netflix, and her wonderful sister Lisa. Together, they share a heartfelt and humorous look at their unconventional childhood in Northern California, celebrating the life lessons and creativity imparted by their remarkable mother, Momma Bibi. We rewind to the ‘80s, when Momma Bibi and Dad Michael divorced when the sisters were seven and ten. Bibi chose stability first when co-parenting, keeping her girls in their childhood home with their dad, while still fostering a close relationship with them through foodie filled adventures. Daddy Michael tackled single-parent mode with “French-Toast Thursdays,” microwave-cooking classes, and a very liberal kitchen-only cigarette policy that cured any teen smoking phase fast . A Sufi seeker who swaps small talk for theories on the nature of time, Momma Bibi raised her daughters on spiritual “square dancing” and Cheez Whiz with jarred beef on annual camping trips. Her trademark Bibi-isms (“blow your nose, get a little glass of orange juice, take two sips then tell me what happened”) still echo whenever life gets wobbly . Tune in to hear how Bibi instilled in her daughters the importance of love, peace, and connection, and how she encouraged them to embrace their individuality and celebrate their own unique paths. Also, make sure to check out Julie's hit movie, Kinda Pregnant, starring Amy Schumer, now playing on Netflix and her next venture, a children's book series launching with The Lucky Penny, inspired by Momma Bibi's DIY optimism. Newcastle went down 1-0 at Arsenal on Sunday to set up a nervy last weekend. A win at home against Everton is needed to seal Champions League football (bar a near-impossible set of results elsewhere).Jacob Murphy has been speaking with George this week and he has faith in himself and his squad-mates to put in the performance needed against a post-Goodison Everton that is either eminently beatable or incredibly dangerous depending on which end of Chris and George's sentences you choose to follow. The mood in the camp seems very positive though and, while we are hoping for good news in terms of Alexander Isak's participation, we're sure St James's Park will roar and the lads will do us proud.
