In this episode, Beth and Eve focus on A Lady has the Floor, Kate's nonfiction children’s picture book about Belva Lockwood, the first woman to run for president. They also discuss the historical fiction middle grade book The Detective’s Assistant, which follows the first American-female detective Kate Warren and her niece, Nell. Both stories won numerous awards.
