Hop Forward: Getting You Ahead in the Brewing and Beer Business
On the podcast this week, Nick takes us on a roving audio tour of SIBA Beer X—the UK's largest brewing trade show—capturing raw, on-the-ground insights straight from the tradeshow floor.Armed with a microphone and plenty of curiosity, Nick chats with a cross-section of UK brewery owners, brewers, and industry folks to ask two simple but telling questions: Where are the biggest opportunities in beer right now? And what's the greatest challenge facing the industry? From Twice Brewed in Northumberland to The Driftwood Spars on the Cornish coast, the conversation quickly reveals patterns—especially around the rise of alcohol-free beers. Brewers from Wiper & True and Utopian Brewing reflect on the practical and commercial benefits of brewing 0.5% ABV, while others highlight the increasing need to stand out with unique brand stories and community-led initiatives.Nick also speaks with Laura from Abbeydale Brewery and Catherine from Attic Brew Co. about how breweries can differentiate themselves through values, storytelling, and local engagement. The episode also explores cross-category innovation, including a conversation with a craft distiller offering contract services to breweries looking to diversify into spirits. And there's a catch-up with Broadtown Brewery—whose founder left a career in railway engineering to follow his passion for beer and pubs - and Combie from Round Corner Brewing on their decision to embrace cask beer. While some of the best conversations were, frustratingly, never recorded (

Welcome back! In this special episode, guest host and fellow Spitfire Elite coach, Jason Batchelor, "JB", records live interviews from the Professional Asian Pilot's Association Convention floor in Las Vegas, NV. You'll hear honest, unscripted conversations with aspiring aviators—some just days into their airline journey, others preparing for a major transition after decades of military service. From rapid interview timelines to navigating a cold, stoic interview environment, Kelly shares her perspective on staying poised when things don't go as expected. Matt, a retiring F-15E pilot and Air Force Colonel, reflects on transition out of the military and into the civilian career field—and how preparing for interviews doesn't always follow a structured military path. Finally, Kono, a first-time conference attendee, gets a shot at a mock meet-and-greet, gaining real-time feedback and direction for how to refine his message and lean into his authenticity. What You'll Learn: How quickly the hiring timeline can unfold—and why being prepared is key What to expect (and how to adapt) when an interview doesn't match your expectations Why early preparation matters when transitioning from military to civilian aviation The value of mock interviews, roleplay, and honest coaching How to highlight cultural fit and personal story during meet-and-greets CONNECT WITH US Are you ready to take your preparation to the next level? Send us a textWhat are you truly chasing in life, and is it leading you somewhere meaningful? We've all experienced that hamster-wheel feeling—constantly moving but never actually arriving anywhere. This conversation digs into the profound difference between mere motion and purposeful pursuit.Sustainability emerges as a robust framework for evaluating what matters most. When Kory states that "sustainability equals life," it shifts our perspective on everything. We explore how pursuits that sustain us create opportunities for greater purpose, while those that plague us lead to collapse and torment. The journey isn't always straightforward. We share personal stories about navigating both distracting detours (those that pull us off course) and divine detours (those that redirect us toward something better). Perhaps most valuable are the questions we explore: What matters to me now? What am I willing to let go of? Who am I becoming in this process? And crucially, is this pursuit truly mine or someone else's expectation? Your answers might revolutionize your direction.Whether you're questioning your career path, relationships, or personal goals, this episode offers a compassionate but challenging framework to evaluate what you're really chasing and why. We invite you to pick just one thing this week to pursue with genuine intention, no matter how small.Look up and let's elevate—every day.Support the showhttps://linktr.ee/genthebuilder

Be thankful I didn't associate you with a panty raid, because we are back for our seventh season of new/old Wie is de Mol episodes - and we're going all the way back to 2009's offering in Northern Ireland & Jordan! Over these nine weeks, three guys who are all very attached to Paula's bra and Sebastiaan's mankini - Logan, Michael & Bindles - are recapping and looking back at all that happened on a titanic season that people have been asking us to do for years, continuing with the second episode and elimination of no-one. In this episode - we wonder where the terrible B&B was, there's an unintentional consequence of filming in Northern Ireland, we struggle to tell some people apart, no-one looks forward to the Luggage Game, Rick has an interesting bus stop, there's some on-air admin, a stopped clock is right twice a podcast, the Titanic Office needs something extra, we debut a new feature, Michael tells a joke that doesn't work, Dennis needs to work on tables, we wonder why Sebastiaan & Anniek did the test and Logan tries to predict what the Mole did this episode before locking in his second set of suspicions. Thank you for listening - we will see you next week for Episode 3! Please note: This season is intended on being spoiler-free, so please watch the episodes along with us. As with our coverage of Seasons 11, 14, 16 & 17, there are no spoilers due to Logan not having seen the season before. However, any season we have already covered (WIDM 10-11, 14, 16-25 and Renaissance; België 4-13) is fair game though. This episode does also name the Mole from the first Mexico season at 49:17. Podcast: Industrial Cybersecurity InsiderEpisode: Breaking Down the IT-OT Wall: Why IT Cybersecurity Tools Fail on the Plant FloorPub date: 2025-07-08Get Podcast Transcript →powered by Listen411 - fast audio-to-text and summarizationIn this episode, Dino Busalachi and Craig Duckworth tackle a critical disconnect plaguing industrial organizations: the disconnect in understanding and communication between IT and OT regarding industrial cybersecurity. While some IT departments are investing in OT cybersecurity platforms, 85% of the data these tools collect is designed for OT teams to act upon. Unfortunately, plant floor personnel, system integrators, and OEMs working in these environments rarely get access to dashboards, asset inventories, or vulnerability reports.Organizations must move beyond the "oil and water" mentality between IT and OT. This means involving plant personnel in cybersecurity decisions, sharing data with trusted partners who "build the cars" (not just buy them), and recognizing that effective OT security requires collaboration with the people who live and breathe on the plant floor every day.Bottom Line: If you're not sharing cybersecurity data with your system integrators, OEMs, and plant operations teams, you're not practicing true IT-OT convergence. You're missing critical opportunities to improve your security posture where it matters most.Chapters:00:00:00 - Why Local Collaboration is Critical for Cybersecurity Success00:01:07 - Meet Dino and Craig: Experts in IT/OT Integration00:01:49 - Unpacking the Challenges of IT/OT Convergence00:02:28 - Why IT and OT Teams Often Struggle to Align00:04:48 - Building Collaborative Frameworks for Stronger Cybersecurity00:07:33 - The Role of CIOs and CISOs in Driving Change00:08:44 - Navigating the Complexities of Diverse Plant Environments00:10:23 - Partnering with Vendors to Enhance Security Outcomes00:11:16 - Key Questions to Evaluate System Integrators Effectively00:16:35 - Using Tabletop Exercises to Align IT and OT Teams00:22:20 - Closing Thoughts: Bridging the Divide for Unified CybersecurityLinks And Resources:Want to Sponsor an episode or be a Guest? This week on the Ante Up Poker Podcast, Joe's back around the table for Table Talk — and there's no shortage of things to discuss! We dive into the good, the bad, and the downright soggy at the WSOP, including the water flooding chaos at the Horseshoe and Paris. Plus, we wrap up the segment with a great moment from Daniel Negreanu, who answers a railbird's question on how to make tilt a non-factor at the table. As promised here is the link to that video. In Call the Floor, Elliott weighs in on a sticky situation from a home game where two players unknowingly check down two streets of action after under-calling an all-in — and the pot is short. You won't want to miss his ruling. Our Hand of the Week features Patrick and me navigating KQ suited from UTG+1 — was it played smooth or did we overplay a pretty hand? And in Joe's One Outer, I talk about the power of staying the course — even when the cards (or life) seem stacked against you. Let's ante up and get into it! On the latest episode of The Race F1 Tech Show, host Edd Straw and former F1 technical director Gary Anderson take a closer look at two of the big tech stories coming out of the Austrian Grand Prix. The first is Mercedes' ongoing struggle to extract performance in high ambient temperatures, with George Russell finishing over a minute down on the race winner at the Red Bull Ring having won commandingly in Canada two weeks earlier. The second is the potential breakthrough Ferrari have made with its upgraded floor. Edd and Gary discuss the changes and ask whether a genuine step forward has been made, and whether upcoming changes to the rear suspension of the SF-25 should bring a further performance step. And as ever the episode is rounded out with Gary answering tech questions sent in by listeners. This time the subjects covered include whether teams can measure brake pressure and whether anti-dive is adjustable or not.Got a question for Gary? Americans are shocked watching New York City nominate an Islamist communist as the mayor of America's largest city. I delve into the factors that led to this day and how red states must begin to fortify — otherwise they will be taken over too. That begins by electing leaders in primaries who take Florida's model to the next level rather than typical do-nothing Republicans. Next, we're joined by Florida state Sen. Jay Collins (R), fresh off his rescue mission that successfully evacuated 2,000 Americans from Israel. He describes the unique dangers and challenges of that mission and how the partnership between special operators and Florida's best agency leaders accomplished what nobody else did. Collins explains how there is an entire generation of combat veterans who feel even more passionate about using their expertise to help Americans than they did fighting overseas. The way of the future is expanding on Florida's model of partnering with charitable organizations and private experts to accomplish what other government cannot do. The tip of the spear is our veteran community. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
