Choose Your Fighter is a comedy debate podcast where four longtime friends pit everything from Supreme Court Justices to Cereal Mascots against each other in a tournament to find out who or what belongs in our number one spot.
Evan Atkinson, Emily Lamb, Clare Milburn, Talha Salman
If you were a pirate, would you rather have your parrot on this shoulder or thiiiis shoulder? The correct answer is neither, there are way better options than parrots. Listen to our intrepid team of piracy experts as we spit a lot of facts... and some less-than-facts. Evan was also wearing a pirate costume the entire time, that's important.
It's a classic round of reindeer games as our hosts try to come up with some last-minute replacements for Santa's favorite four-legged friends. Along the way, we learned some surprising Hawaiian laws, did a surprising amount of math, and did our best to conjure up a mental image of Talha on a bmx bike. Happy Holidays from the Choose Your Fighter Crew!
Join our hosts for the story of Erasmus and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. This week we try to figure out what modern concepts would overwhelm the mind of a Victorian-era boy and along the way learn the value of teamwork, but never fully understand when the Victorian era was.
This week we're leaving it all out on the field for a matchup of college football mascots! Join us as we put some facts on myths and say some truly upsetting things about the male anatomy. Thanks to special guest hosts, Sport Totino and Boston Creampie for joining us! Follow our Instagram @chooseyourfighterpod!
It's like "Arrival", but much less though out. Aliens have just landed on Earth and we have to pick someone to represent all of humanity and make the first contact. Understandably we are the people that the UN called to make this decision. Also, be sure to check us out on Instagram @chooseyourfighterpod.
This one got heated y'all, and frankly, went to some places that I'm uncomfortable writing down right now. This week your intrepid hosts debated which fictional rodent would win in a fight and, in the end, discovered some hard truths about our very nature as extant beings, the role of the physical and metaphysical worlds, and of course accidentally ended up on the wrong side of the internet. Also, if you don't already, be sure to follow us on Instagram @chooseyourfighterpod for all of the latest updates on the show!
The first concert in a post-COVID world has to be short and bring the hits. Good thing we've put four one-hit wonders on the bill. This one is a tear-jerker folks, each of our hosts has a sob story, but only one of them cried so hard they had a nose bleed.
To be clear, we are ideally not the team to be selecting the eighth world wonder, but we're the team that did. I don't know if the world wonder commission calls us, or maybe we call them. All I know is that we chose the correct option.
For legal reasons, we have to say that this episode is entirely speculative. It's also pretty silly. This week, we're debating the number one most crushworthy cartoon character. What isn't up for debate is how deeply uncomfortable this conversation made Evan.
We're changing up the format this week and narrowing our top eight fast-food mascots all the way down to number one. I'm not trying to clown around, this one might make you Grimace.
Some topics discussed in this week's tournament: Boyactors.org, "Abaca-Deborah" a Debbie Reynolds fan-cast, Emily's double dutch career, Talha's steel candor, and Clare's VIBRANT imagination. Thank you to Bailey Igoe for our amazing theme song!
Which Samuel L. Jackson character would win in a head to head fight? Would they see each other and realize they look identical? Would that phase them? How do you spell Haberdashery? We have the answers to a some of these questions in this episode!
We are "Chris-tening" this podcast by answering the question on no one's mind... which famous person named Chris is the best. Hard. Hitting. Journalism.
Show up for the dads, stay for the ever-evolving set of criteria by which Talha judges the worth of a father figure.
This week we're talking Cereal Killers, mascots from popular breakfast brands going head to head in.... who am I kidding, this episode is mostly about Booberry and his Jazz legacy.
