A podcast for anyone who loves music and misses concerts during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Jessie is back to talk about Arctic Monkeys. This was an interesting and sometimes awkward concert. Find out why! Watch the concert here.
I love a good NPR Tiny Desk set, and Run the Jewels do not disappoint. A short set, but still lots to talk about. My partner Paul, you guessed it, is back again to chat. You can watch the concert here.
My partner Paul is back on the show to talk about Nine Inch Nails. Can Trent Reznor do anything not good? Watch the concert here. Big congrats to Trent on his win at the Golden Globes yesterday for the Soul soundtrack. Happy that he is happy (as noted on the Globes) that he has a piece of work he can actually share with his children now.
What did you think of the Super Bowl Halftime show? This week I talk about the Weeknd's performance with my best-friend Shaun (not a Weeknd expert, but knows a thing or two about football). Watch the concert here.
I have a dad-rock expert on the show this week to talk about Journey's performance in 1983. There may be a catch, but you will have to listen to find out more. Great talk! Watch the the concert here. Watch Glee's performance of "Don't Stop Believin'" here!
My friend Jessie is back to discuss Arcade Fire at Lollapalooza in 2017. Not a show we were overly impressed with. Why? We both love the band and enjoy festivals. Listen to us discuss! Watch the concert here. Watch Ed the Sock slam Arcade Fire here.
My friend Courtney and I discuss Fleetwood Mac's performance way back in 1982 while on the Mirage Tour. How can you resist the drama of this band? We talk about the many weird and memorable moments of this show. Watch the concert here.
A historic set! I say it a million times in this chat with my friend and fellow librarian, Emily. In 2014 Future Islands appear on David Letterman and give a once-in-lifetime performance. This concert happens a couple months after at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. You can feel the excitement and energy 2014 must have been for them, especially in the dance moves (you gotta watch it to really get it). Watch the concert here.
I decided to try a solo episode this week about the enigmatic Harry Styles, so you can hear me conversing with myself. This episode was shot right before the pandemic hit the world and turned everything upside-down. A short and sweet set located at the NPR Music office. How do they fit some many people in that little corner? You can watch the concert here.
If you are looking for a pretend vacation from pandemic-life, this is the concert for you. Paul (partner, husband, co-parent, yadda-yadda) returns to discuss Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile's Sea Lice concert with a Malibu backdrop. Chill-chill discussion about chill-chill concert vibes. You can watch the concert here.
Surprise! A really fun recap episode of Dwayne Gretzky's NYE 2021 Livestream that started on December 31st 2020 and brought us into the New Year. Jessie and Shelagh return as my guests and we gush over this 5 hour set. If you haven't had a chance to watch this show you can view it here. Likely for a limited amount of time, so be quick!
Halloween weekend, a hot pink suit and some Day of the Dead makeup. My friend Shelagh and I talk about Florence and this "killer" set at the 2015 Voodoo Music Festival. You can watch the concert on YouTube here.
An episode with a super passionate fan! I talk about Bill and Joel Plaskett's set Live at Massey Hall in April 2017 with my friend Jessie. You can watch the concert on YouTube here.
