Peter Atwater, one of the leading voices on confidence-driven behavior in markets and society, joins Lance Roberts to share how certainty, control, and herd mentality shape every major trend investors face today. Lance and Peter discuss The Confidence Map, why people behave differently when they're in the "comfort zone" versus the "stress center," and how these shifts explain the rise of speculative investing, the bifurcated K-shaped economy, and the growing disconnect between Wall Street and Main Street. Atwater explores how consumer confidence is driving AI enthusiasm, why the workplace has split between white-collar and blue-collar realities since Covid, and what it will take to move the U.S. back to a non-K-shaped economy. We also dive into Maslow's hierarchy, the collapse of social trust, and what happens when possibility starts to feel like threat. For investors, Atwater lays out what assets are "ice cold or lukewarm," why scrutiny and confidence move in opposite directions, and what to own when today's hot spots finally cool off. We also examine ETFs, gamified trading, the tragedy of benchmarking, and how declining confidence reshapes moral behavior in the markets. 0:00 - INTRO 0:18 - Who is Peter Atwater? 1:10 - Understanding the Behavior of the Herd 2:32 - More Certainty & Control 3:48 - The Confidence Map - The Box Chart - Comfort Zone vs Stress Center 7:03 - Consumer Confidence Metrics & the AI Space 9:24 - The Bifurcated Economy & The K-Shape; White Collar vs Blue Collar Workers During Covid 12:12 - Getting back to a non-K Economy - Looking at the cumulative impact on the economy Maslow's Hierarchy of Need - we need to start at the bottom, make those at the top more aware of what's happening around them 16:48 - What policy should be implemented to accomplish this? While breeding beef and sexed semen is no longer new, our industry has experienced a miscalculation of the ideal number of replacement heifers needed to optimize this model. To ensure you're on the right path, Megan Lauber , Dr. Paul Fricke and Dr. Victor Cabrera from University of WI recently completed work on a model of the interaction between 21-d Preg rate, semen type, days in milk and heifer survival to find the optimum window – known as the Insemination Eligibility Period (IEP). 167. Her kötülüğü yapıyorlardı.

This weeks show had another guest, this time a fellow Vocal Booth Radio DJ based here in Sydney. Maurizio Marchetti plays in my old time slot on a Thursday once a month. He's a big vinyl nut collecting edits and mashups alongside choice cuts from the last 40+ years. His sets have a lot of energy often underpinned by a funky/disco vibe but you can't pigeon hole that easily as you'll hear in this mix. We went all over on this one.He grew up in London and so was exposed to the same house culture I was. We both share a love so for many of the same sounds, sub genres, labels, artists. He's a regular resident DJ for Boogie Wonderland, one of the most successful nights in Sydney and Maurizio has put down so many now legendary sets that get the crowd and especially the ladies very excited. I also played alongside him as part of another local collective Larry's Herd. We've done a few b2b gigs over the last couple of years. It's always fun to play alongside him because of the breadth and depth of his sound and knowledge. He came to this mix intent on playing gems I might not have. Happy to say he failed for the most part, but I don't have any of his mashups, he got me on those. This show was so fun to do. Maurizio played for the first hour and came out like the rabbit in a greyhound race! Then for the second hour we went b2b. We each had our own deck, so it was one record each - vinyl. Really living on the edge! You can't plan ahead because you don't know what the other person is gonna play. You then have three minutes tops to rummage, choose, "load" onto turntable, beat match, cue and drop. Believe me that's not a lot of time, especially when your vinyl isn't sorted!! And as you will hear we didn't stay in any one lane for long.So many great tunes in this mix, it's sure to become a favourite for many of you.Tracklisting:Not a chance - all vinyl!! Maybe one day!Shazzam is your friend, should be able to get most of them. Likely to struggle with the mashups.Enjoy!

Did you ever watch Animal Planet or one of those animal videos that show a lion or some type of predator watching a herd of animals just waiting for one to leave the herd? The predator literally lays in wait just biding time until one of those unsuspecting animals walks away from the herd just enough to be vulnerable, and as soon as they get away from the protection of the herd, the predator attacks. This is what Paul is warning Timothy about and he tells him, “Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you.”

Season 5, EPISODE 260 Cattle & Producer Groups React To Potential Imports of Argentine Beef   Last Sunday President Donald Trump said the United States could purchase Argentinian beef in an attempt to bring down prices for American consumers.  This sparked immediate reaction from our cattle associations and organizations. Reference: https://apnews.com/article/beef-argentina-us-consumers-prices-f7fadbe1b3fef4646f9c3623f901209a National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) Reaction To Argentine Beef NCBA's family farmers and ranchers have numerous concerns with importing more Argentinian beef to lower prices for consumers. This plan only creates chaos at a critical time of the year for American cattle producers, while doing nothing to lower grocery store prices," said NCBA CEO Colin Woodall. "Additionally, Argentina has a deeply unbalanced trade relationship with the U.S. In the past five years Argentina has sold more than $801 million of beef into the U.S. market. By comparison, the U.S. has sold just over $7 million worth of American beef to Argentina. Argentina also has a history of foot-and-mouth disease, which if brought to the United States, could decimate our domestic livestock production. REFERENCE: https://www.nationalbeefwire.com/ncba-argentinian-beef-import-plan-harms-u-s-cattle-producers United States Cattlemen's Association (USCA) Reaction To Argentine Beef The current price of beef on grocery store shelves reflects the true, inflation-adjusted cost of raising cattle in America today.  Already this year, the U.S. has imported more than 1.26 million metric tons of beef, primarily from Australia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and New Zealand. Increasing imports under current rules ultimately benefits foreign suppliers and multinational packers, while putting U.S. ranchers on the losing end and depriving American consumers of honest transparency at the meat counter. REFERENCE: https://www.nationalbeefwire.com/usca-comments-on-president-trump-s-remarks-regarding-beef-prices-and-proposed-imports-from-argentina R-Calf USA Reaction To Argentine Beef Global packers are importing beef from about 20 different countries, including Argentina, and because we do not have a mandatory country-of-origin labeling law for beef, the global packers do not need to reduce the price of imported product compared to domestic product. This negates any theoretical benefit of using more imports to drive down domestic beef prices. We urge the president to manage imports, restore mandatory country-of-origin labeling for beef, and put an end to the monopolistic control that packers and retailers have over our beef supply chain. Doing so will incentivize America's ranchers to rebuild and expand the U.S. herd to meet our national security needs and ensure that consumer beef prices are determined by competitive market forces. REFERENCE: https://www.nationalbeefwire.com/statement-on-plan-to-increase-argentine-beef-imports Fall Bull Nutrition From Westway Feed Products Nutritional balance is a cornerstone of herd health and productivity. According to Dr. Kelly Sanders of Westway Feed Products, deficiencies often go unnoticed until performance suffers. Signs Of Nutritional Deficiencies In Cattle Poor Body Condition: Thin cows, visible ribs, or weak muscling. Reduced Fertility: Open cows, delayed cycling, or poor conception rates. Coat and Hoof Issues: Rough hair coats, brittle hooves, or slow shedding. Growth Challenges in Calves: Reduced weight gains or uneven growth patterns. How To Correct Deficiencies Forage Testing: Identify nutrient gaps in hay and pasture. Targeted Supplementation: Provide liquid or block supplements to balance protein, energy, and minerals. Management Adjustments: Ensure adequate feed availability during high-demand stages such as lactation and breeding. Dr. Sanders emphasizes that proactive nutrition not only boosts herd performance but also maximizes returns on investment in genetics. In this action-packed episode of the Elk Hunt Podcast, host [redacted for anonymity, but based on context] sits down with seasoned elk hunter Jeff Helm to recap his remarkable 2024 season, where he harvested four mature bulls across vastly different states and terrains. Jeff dives into his addiction to hunting Roosevelt elk on the rugged Oregon coast, sharing tales of navigating ancient forests, battling poison oak, and out-hunting locals. The conversation shifts to an epic backcountry Wyoming adventure with llamas, where Jeff, Mark, and Josh adapted to heavy horse hunter pressure, glassed for patterns, and called in bulls using calf sounds and strategic setups. Packed with storytelling, Jeff reveals his adaptable tactics, from spot-and-stalk in Idaho to calf calling in thick timber, emphasizing mental toughness, pre-scouting, and building hunter intuition. Whether you're a beginner or advanced hunter, this episode offers invaluable insights into consistent success on public land. This episode is brought to you by Tricer, they make gear that is Fast. For example, calf calls worked in Wyoming's backcountry, but spot-and-stalk was key in silent Idaho hunts—avoid overcomplicating with too many tools and stay flexible to turn tough situations into kills. Pre-Scouting and Observation Are Underrated Superpowers: Arrive early to drive roads, assess access, and glass elk patterns without rushing in. Jeff's Wyoming success came from watching horse hunters and elk for days to find unpressured pockets, proving that understanding where elk go (and why) often beats blind calling or chasing. Build Gut Intuition Through Experience and Mentors: Learn from consistent killers like Dan Evans by observing elk habits and avoiding common pitfalls, such as rushing bedded bulls (wait 45-60 minutes to let them settle). Mental toughness keeps you in the game—elk hunting is hard until it's not, and one right setup can change everything.

This episode was recorded in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the 2025 Tri-State Dairy Conference.Dr. Fessenden gives an overview of his presentation which covered both research and field information on automated milking systems. He recommends going back to basics and formulating a rumen-friendly PMR with a complementary palatable feed that encourages the cows into the robot system. (5:57)The panel discusses ideas for driving cows to the robot on different types of PMRs, management of transition and late lactation cows in automated milking systems, and the use of custom pellets versus other supplemental feeds in the robot. (9:04)Dr. Fessenden talks about some of his experiences visiting automated milking systems in Europe and some of the differences between European and North American approaches to diet formulations in automated systems. The group goes on to talk about different options for supplemental feed formulations in the robot. (18:38)Dr. Fessenden and Dr. Tylutki share ideas for how feeding technology could help both traditional and automated milking farms in the future. They discuss more precise grouping of cows and targeted feeding of those groups to better match requirements, as well as how movement to different pens and diet changes can impact milk production. (23:45) Dr. Tylutki updates the group on advancements in the AMTS balancing tools for multiple robot feeds. He and Dr. Fessenden describe the challenges of developing new tools that are streamlined and user-friendly for nutritionists. They also delve into the role artificial intelligence and machine learning might play in ration balancing in the future. (29:32)Dr. Fessenden encourages nutritionists to think outside the box when working with automated milking herds to make decisions that are right for that particular farm. Dr. Tylutki chimes in with advice to spend time actually watching the cows on the farm, and Dr. Van Soest echoes this sentiment when it comes to troubleshooting issues with the robots themselves. Don't just assume it's an issue with the ration - ask or observe for yourself what may have changed on the farm that could contribute to the issue the farm is facing.
