Why Don't You Have More Money?

Today we are exploring “Why you don't have more money”Kathi-Um, excuse me? Why are we discussing my finances?Cheryl-I don't mean you specifically, I'm speaking to women who are or have been chronic underearners in their careers and businesses.Click here to download complete show notes.Kathi-Well, that would be me-LOL-Actually, this sounds like a subject many women would be interested in-and men too, but I think it's probably primarily a women's issue-am I right?Cheryl-You would be right. And yes, it does happen to men as well, so I do encourage them to continue listening.Kathi-So, why does this happen to us?Cheryl-There can be many contributing factors to why we don't earn more and keep more of our money. But the primary one lies at our core. In the stories, we have been told and those we tell ourselvesLet me ask our listeners...As a business owner, have you ever decided to discount your fees/prices so that you could get the sale?As an employee, have you ever just taken the salary they offered and never thought to negotiate for more?As an artist, actor, healer, non-profit, have you come to believe what you‘ve heard others say there's no money in that field. If any of these describes you, like they have me in the past, then we've both missed opportunities. Opportunities to receive what we deserved for our products, services and talent.Unfortunately, this happens so frequently to so many of us that we come to believe that this is the way life is. Like there is no other way.

Emotional Self-Mastery Podcast: What's Your Relationship with Money?

Today we are talking about, our relationship with money. This is a subject that is an off-shoot of the Impostor Syndrome. Our relationship with money and Imposter Syndrome are tied together through our emotions. If you haven't already listened to the 2 episodes on Impostor Syndrome, I recommend that you do, as well as the next several podcasts to come.Well, actually, I recommend listening to ALL of our episodes, but yes, the last two on Impostor Syndrome would be helpful to hear to better understand its pervasiveness.Today, we are homing in on our relationship with money.Click here to download complete show notes. To illustrate what I'm talking about, I have a story for you. There was a young man, I'll call him James.  Throughout James' childhood and even into adulthood, James has never had a piggy bank, a wallet, or any kind of safe place to store his money. Actually, it wasn't that he didn't have one. He just didn't use one.If you were to visit James now, in adulthood, you would notice that he still tends to leave his money laying around his house.  You would find dollar bills in the couch or wadded up on the floor. He often leaves bills in the pockets of dirty jeans. He has little respect for his money. Consequently, he rarely has any to speak of.What do you think would happen if James treated his girlfriend with the same level of carelessness as he does with his money?I expect that she would not be around for very long. You don't have to be like James, and leave your money laying on the floor, to have a good idea about what's going on with your relationship with money.Cheryl C Jones is a facilitator, author, mind-set coach and podcast host who works with individuals and corporate work teams to quickly get to the issues inhibiting them from reaching their goals, overcome the issues and achieve real success.Cheryl@SimplyTheBestResults.comwww.SimplyTheBestResults.comFacebook: Simply The Best ResultsLinkedIn: Cheryl C Jones210-545-2378Podcasts:Getting Simply The Best ResultsEmotional Self-MasteryAuthor of:Emotional Self-MasteryThe Best Book on Regaining Personal Power, Self-Confidence and Peace90 Companion JournalBoth available on AmazonKathi Holzschuher is a marketing strategist, content writer and podcast producer. She works with Cheryl C Jones as marketing & content manager and podcast producer.Kathi@SimplyTheBestResults.comFacebook: Kathi HolzschuherLinkedIn: Kathi Holzschuher210-393-3906

Emotional Self-Mastery Podcast: Impostor Syndrome -Part 2, Resolution

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 28, 2021 24:22

Last week we defined the Impostor syndrome and explored the financial and emotional costs involved with not getting it resolved. To recap, Impostor Syndrome is defined as a psychological pattern in which an individual questions their skills, abilities, talents, or accomplishments. It causes the person to have self-doubt and to internalize the fear of “being found out” or exposed as a “fraud” -as something other than as they presented themselves. Those who experience Impostor Syndrome (IS) have difficulty internalizing their accomplishments. When you internalize your accomplishments, you fully recognize and accept your role in making it happen. You know that it was not by chance or luck that you achieved the result. You achieved it because you did the work to make it happen.Download complete show notes here. Here's the thing, IS shows up as a little voice inside your head listing the reasons you should not take action. My little voice says unhelpful things like, “You're not ready for that”, “Who are you kidding? You are not all that”, “What makes you think you know what you're talking about?”.I like to call that little voice by her initials, SDB, for Self-Defeating Brat.  I cleaned her title up a bit for our listening audience. The “B” actually has a different word associated with it.What I can tell you is, SDB used to have a lot of power over me and how I felt about myself. Listening to her question me and challenge me just wore me down. It was really difficult to power through her negativity.Have you experienced the voice of an SDB in your life?I'd like to take you through a little recall exercise- here.Schedule a 30 Minute Discovery Session with CherylSpecial pricing for podcast listeners-$50/30 Minutes.Join the Group! Emotional Self-Mastery Podcast: Jealousy

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 14, 2021 27:28

Do you remember a time when you felt jealous?Jealousy is a complex emotion. It is both human and animal and is directly related to self-esteem. When self-esteem is threatened, we become jealous. The more fragile our self-esteem the more likely we will be jealous of something or someone. We usually think about jealousy in a romantic sense. But there are different kinds of jealousy. There is sibling jealousy-when one sibling thinks the other is getting more than they are. There is co-worker jealousy and friend jealousy.Once a relationship starts to become permanent, ongoing, or one that we count on, there’s a dependence that occurs. If both people are committed, there is an interdependence that occurs-that the other person is going to be available. Sometimes things get in the way and that person isn’t available and we feel jealous. Maybe they are on a trip without you, or out to lunch with another friend. It’s really just fear.I’m sometimes jealous of my husband’s job when he is paying more attention to it than me. That’s another kind of jealousy. Then there’s this thing called envy. Envy looks like jealousy, but they aren’t the same. Jealousy requires a 3rd party-person, job, sport, etc.Envy is when you want what someone else has-wealth, status, opportunity, etc.Are we envious or jealous? What creates jealousy? What can we do?Click here for these answers and complete show notes.Cheryl C Jones is a facilitator, author, mind-set coach and podcast host who works with individuals and corporate work teams to quickly get to the issues inhibiting them from reaching their goals, overcome the issues and achieve real success.Cheryl@SimplyTheBestResults.com www.SimplyTheBestResults.com Facebook: Simply The Best ResultsLinkedIn: Cheryl C Jones210-545-2378Podcasts:-Getting Simply The Best Results-Emotional Self-MasteryAuthor of:Emotional Self-MasteryThe Best Book on Regaining Personal Power, Self-Confidence and Peace90 Companion JournalBoth available on AmazonKathi Holzschuher is a marketing strategist, content writer and podcast producer. She works with Cheryl C Jones as marketing manager and podcast producer. Emotional Self-Mastery Podcast: Starting Anew

Starting anew. Whether it’s a new year, new month, new day, new relationship, starting anew leaves us with the question, “What am I going to take with me to my next experience?”I think of it like moving from an old house to a new one and what I’ll take with me to the new place.Am I going to pack everything and move it? Try to make it fit into my new space whether it should or not? Probably not. I’m probably going to have a bit of trash and undesired things to discard before moving.Starting anew and moving forward requires that we let go of some things-physically, psychologically and emotionally. Shedding the physical stuff is a lot easier than the mental and emotional. But starting anew is when we need to let go the psychological junk, too-It may be time to challenge and let go of old patterns that we’ve operated from. All too often we hold on to emotional hurts and traumas, carrying them with us like backpacks wherever we go. We will even bring them into new relationships. Those old emotions can become a wall or barrier to protect our heart from getting hurt again. However, when we put up a wall it blocks our ability to receive from others. It can also create suspicion and distrust when there not any reason for it.What are you taking with you into 2021? What good stuff will you bring forward for your continued growth, health, and happiness? Here’s what I’m bringing:Emotional resilience – living in the lighter emotions of hope and joy and happiness, hope, optimism, enthusiasm, and passionVibrations that attract a similar vibration and add vitality to my lifeGrowth-oriented mind-setA fully charged personal energy batteryBook – Emotional Self-MasteryFaith that the Universe/God are always conspiring or working in my favorIf you’re serious about changing your life. About having the kinds of things you want. Doing the kind of work that brings you joy and money, schedule a 30 Minute Discovery Session with me. When we meet, (virtually, of course) I’ll listen as you tell me what kind of life you want to create. Then I’ll share with you how you can get there.
