In this episode, Luke Ramey talks with Trudy Hedgecough of Anew You, a medical aesthetics spa in Crossville, Tennessee that opened in March 2020, as she breaks down the wide range of services they offer—including ultrasound therapy, sound needling, and customized skin treatments for both men and women without exception. Trudy also shares insight into their membership program, complimentary consultations, and how her team determines the right approach for each client's skin goals, along with a look at the long-standing history of treatments like Botox. Beyond the spa, she reflects on her move from Dalton, Georgia to Cookeville to attend Tennessee Tech, where she met her husband, and how her daughter now works alongside her while pursuing nursing school. That's humiliating, given Trump's bragging of success. Meanwhile, in two cult-like tirades, Karoline Leavitt attacked the media for being insufficiently worshipful of Trump, and gushed over his greatness with extraordinary sycophancy. This week, as we approach Easter Sunday, we are reading John 20:1-18, the story of the unfolding discovery by the disciples that Jesus has been resurrected. We wonder – why did Mary feel such urgency to be near Jesus's body – or maybe the question is, why didn't the other disciples feel it? What is the connection between this resurrection and that of Lazarus? Could it be that Lazarus himself, who knows the tomb, is the beloved disciple? Then there are the angels, the messengers who don't really relay a message, or not in words anyway. It's a beautiful rendition of grief and connection, of showing up exactly as ourselves in the face of great mystery and trusting that's all that's needed.

Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

I chose this field recording because I liked that it's a documentation of someone imitating the music of nature. In that original recording itself there's so many layers of the art. There's the birdsong that the person presumably heard many times, then spent time learning how to make the whistling sound, then they made their song, which was recorded onto magnetic tape, and converted into a digital format, which finally reached me. It made me think about at what point something becomes art. In my composition, I featured the field recording mostly untouched, but I added elements that also comment on when something can be considered art. There's the sound of a flag flapping against a pole, of which I liked the rhythmic and melodic gentle clinking. There's the sound of a tuning fork, which I usually consider not to be a musical instrument but rather a tool used before the music is made. There's sounds of me whistling based on my memory of the original field recording, which I felt more comfortable manipulating than the original. And there's recordings that I took of some birds from my apartment in Michigan during the COVID-19 pandemic. This field recording is of U'wa whistling from the Andes in north-east Colombia. Some additional decisions in my composition were made based on what I learned about the U'wa people, who live in cloud forests mostly in Colombia. I used a bansuri to create some noisy flute articulations to evoke the misty air that I imagine flood the cloud forests. The U'wa people have also fought for many years to prevent oil drilling on their land. Throughout the composition there are two low drones, one meant again to evoke the ethereal cloud forest, the other meant to evoke the looming threat of environmental destruction. Above all, this field recording and this project made me reflect on what art is and when something becomes art. Art is amazing for its ability to transcend time and space. Through writing this composition I feel as though I have reached back to the cloud forests of Colombia in April 1973 when the original field recording was created and tie that moment in the past to this moment in the present, this cold wintery day in Baltimore in December 2025. U'wa whistling reimagined by Eugene Yoon.———Part of the project A Century of Sounds, reimagining 100 sounds covering 100 years from the collections of the Pitt Rivers Museum at the University of Oxford. home—body podcast: conversations on astrology, intuition, creativity + healing

There are moments in life when the ground shifts beneath us—moments that ask us to release who we have been and surrender to who we are becoming. In this conversation with Christine Eck, we explore these initiatory thresholds: the postpartum window, identity shifts, creative rebirth, and the deeply human experience of meeting ourselves in the dark.Whether it's the identity rupture of new parenthood, a dream dissolving, a relationship shifting, or a calling echoing from somewhere you can't yet see, these moments feel like freefall. They feel like failure. They feel like we are being unmade. And yet—they feel like that because it is a death. And it is also the beginning of a profound becoming. The only way out is through. The gift is at the bottom. And you cannot effort your way into becoming—you can only surrender into it.Enjoy this episode.

Programmation musicale :  ► Ya Nob Bandit Bi - Jahman X-Press ► Out of orbit - Flox.

Krishna Consciousness Movement Can Start Anew From Your Place | HG Vaisesika Dasa | Feb 2023

Śrī Advaita Ācārya's place is indicative of how the Kṛṣṇa conscious movement starts. It's a small place out in the countryside, and anyone can start a Kṛṣṇa conscious wave from anywhere. How is it done? Advaita Ācārya's penchant is for presenting the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is. Many people present the Bhagavad-gītā, but then they give some mal‑interpretation. They say Kurukṣetra means “the senses.” They say Kṛṣṇa doesn't really mean Kṛṣṇa when He says “surrender unto Me”; it just means “surrender to the unborn within Kṛṣṇa,” whatever the heck that means—which ultimately means you can do whatever you want. Advaita Ācārya—and the reason He's called Ācārya—is because He teaches the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is. It's from this place that He would hold forth every day and speak the truth of the Bhagavad-gītā. And people would come to His class. So this is what we can do also. Someone might say, “Oh, I don't have any service. What can I do?” It's like: Do you have a Bhagavad-gītā As It Is? Anyone? If not, see me afterwards. If you have a Bhagavad-gītā, (better you have a few boxes) invite some people to your house. And what will you give them to eat? Śāk. Give them a little śāk and fried cream. If you give nice prasādam, people will come—even if they don't like philosophy. When we first started, Nirākulā and I began a program at our house that went for sixteen years, and we had people come over every week. When it first started, I was putting together some very simple prasādam. We had dates and mascarpone cheese and just a few little snack‑like things. And we were getting, you know, one person, three people, five people. And then Nirākulā started cooking all of everyone's favorites—pies, macaroni and cheese—and then all of a sudden we couldn't fit everybody in the house. Then I realized the formula for the Kṛṣṇa conscious movement: If you cook, they will come. And then if you have a discussion on the Bhagavad-gītā, even if you don't know the philosophy well, that's okay. It's written down. You just read it and discuss it, and a magic happens—and that is, people's hearts change when they hear that actually God is a person, and we're sparks of that person. We're also persons, just like Kṛṣṇa. We're His expansions, and we're also His servants, and there is service to do. Chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is the Yuga‑dharma—simple things—and people suddenly feel aligned, like, “Yes, I can do this too.” And yes, you can, from any little spot—wherever you might live, out in the country or in the middle of a big city. If you hold a Bhagavad-gītā class, then people will come, and the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement will start anew from your place. Because it's the vibration that comes from the Bhagavad-gītā, as presented by Advaita Ācārya that actually sustains the Kṛṣṇa conscious movement. It has nothing to do with our infrastructure. You can have brick and mortar here, there, and everywhere, but unless you have the vibration of the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, you don't have anything different from the downtown buildings you find in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or Cincinnati, Ohio—any other place; they're all the same. What defines a realm is the sound vibration of that realm, and what defines our lives is the sound vibration that we take in on a daily basis. The new year serves as a natural moment for reflection and reset. This sense of starting over seems to be connected with cycles in nature and the sky. Humanity has long been fascinated with celestial events – of which there are many to look forward to in 2026 – the “Year of the Fire Horse” in the Chinese Zodiac. Our emotions, behaviors, and relationships have come to be associated with the movements of planetary bodies. Understanding these cycles can help with self-awareness, emotional balance, and personal growth. Tonight, Jeremy Scott sits in for Clyde Lewis and is joined by astrologers Mary Dusina and Jeff Harman They discuss ‘The Cosmic Reset' – a coming global transformation marked by geopolitical tensions, unrest, and days of disclosure during what could be one of the most game-changing cycles this century.

Mercylyn Odibo, author of X-Rays of Little Hopes, opens up about her powerful journey from heartbreak to healing and creative purpose. Once unsure if her book would ever be published, she now celebrates a story that connects faith, love, and human resilience. Her novel centers on Prue, a woman who experiences betrayal, disillusionment, and profound loss before rediscovering herself and her faith. Through Prue's eyes, readers witness the pain of misplaced trust, the desperation to be loved, and the beauty of rebuilding after devastation. The story reflects Mercylyn's desire to help others who have felt broken find meaning, courage, and hope again. In the episode, Mercylyn explains how X-Rays of Little Hopes was born from her longtime habit of journaling and her passion for storytelling. She began with the title itself, which symbolized how even the tiniest spark of hope can light the darkest moments. The novel took years to shape, combining her own reflections with the experiences of others who inspired her. She wanted to write something more than a simple romance, creating a story that tackles real emotions and social issues—betrayal, loss of trust, false expectations in relationships, and the danger of ignoring red flags for the sake of love. The result is a faith-based novel that feels genuine and relatable, not preachy. While rooted in Christian values, it is also designed for readers who want a good story about imperfect people finding redemption. Quotes: “The best, most beautiful thing anybody can do for themselves is be who they are. Love yourself and do the best you can.” “There's always a yes for every no, and not giving up is key.” “Don't let anyone define who you are... Pray every day, because good things come out of something bad.” Resources: X-rays of Little Hopes are available on Amazon Follow Mercylyn Odibo on Facebook Discover more of Mercylyn's inspiring stories
