Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try, life just keeps happening to you and nothing seems to go as planned? That was me for years, fully living in the hot mess identity. Luggage would get lost, technology would fail, people would show up late, and somehow none of it was ever my fault. I believed the world dictated my day, my energy, and my results, and I spent more time reacting to circumstances than leading my life. In this episode, I share thirteen specific shifts that helped me shed the hot mess identity and consistently show up as a reliable, resourceful, and prepared coach and business owner. This includes honoring my word no matter the circumstances, planning for other people's potential messiness, building buffer time into every part of my day, and stopping the habit of shaming myself or letting others shame me. By implementing these changes, I was able to move from chaos to calm, create space to execute at my best, and fully own my actions and results. If you want to start making serious money as a coach, you need to check out 2k for 2k. Click here to join: https://staceyboehman.com/2kfor2k!

Most people don't live 90 years — they live the same year 90 times. That's not living, that's surviving. In this episode of The Thought SNOB Podcast, Paula unpacks why people resist change so fiercely, even when staying the same destroys health, confidence, and happiness. Change is natural. You can see it in old pictures: we grow taller, our looks shift, and our needs evolve. We don't hesitate to toss out a bad mattress or switch up our hairstyle when it no longer fits who we are. So why do we hang on to toxic people for dear life? With her signature no-nonsense style — and a sharp metaphor comparing bad relationships to bad hairdos — Paula reframes change as not only necessary, but freeing. If you've been clinging to people, habits, or jobs that no longer serve you, this episode will show you that change isn't the enemy. It's proof you're alive.

We tend to think about movie stars as either glamorous or relatable. But in the 1920s and 1930s, when the Hollywood star system was taking shape, a number of unusual stars appeared on the silver screen, representing groups from which the American mainstream typically sought to avert its eyes. What did it mean for a white entertainment columnist to empathize with an ambiguously gendered Black child star? Or for boys to idolize Lon Chaney, famous for portraying characters with disabilities? Hollywood's Others: Love and Limitation in the Star System (Columbia UP, 2025) explores the affective ties between white, non-disabled audiences and the fascinatingly different stars with whom they identified—but only up to a point. Katherine Fusco argues that stardom in this era at once offered ways for viewers to connect across group boundaries while also policing the limits of empathy. Examining fan magazines alongside film performances, she traces the intense audience attachment to atypical celebrities and the ways the film industry sought to manage it. Fusco considers Shirley Temple's career in light of child labor laws and changing notions of childhood; shows how white viewers responded to Black music in depictions of the antebellum South; and analyzes the gender politics of conspiracy theories around celebrity suicides. Shedding light on marginalized stardoms and the anxieties they provoked, Hollywood's Others challenges common notions about film's capacity to build empathy. Learn more about your ad choices. Though this past weekend in many parts of the world has been programmed to mean the end of summer, our inner knowing and nature's vibrancy would tell us otherwise. Noticing this how this lands in your own body, emotions and mental attitude is a great sacred self care practice. During a summer full of lovely visitors, and all kinds of experiences, the cicadas came in as beautiful teachers for these powerful times of change. As I was able to witness part of their life cycle, I reflected on how the splitting open of their old world in what seemed to me a kind of backwards trust fall, was a brilliant metaphor for what we are experiencing in our human bodies. After the cicadas shed their skin, they take time to rest and allow their beautiful green wings to open fully and dry before they were able to take flight in their new bodies. As many of us are noticing, there has been an amplification of the release of programs, and as that happens for us, there is this open space for our “wings” to come in. The invitation of the cicadas, for me, for us, was to allow time in the quiet to let those wings dry. As we continue to move ever inward to allow more of who you truly are to be born and embodied in this world, noticing and allowing the time you need to integrate is your own powerful sacred self care. Not in alignment with the programs and patterns that have disempowered, but in alignment with your own source of pure love and the natural rhythms that are part of our journey here and now as human beings. Taking the time you need to notice what is coming through the landscape of your own being. Much love Visit our show page for all episodes here; https://www.artthatmoves.ca/podcasts/
What's the story you've been telling yourself and how is it shaping your life Sometimes we feel stuck, not because life is holding us back, but because we're clinging to a story that no longer serves us. Whether it's about why you're not where you want to be, why something hasn't worked out, or why you're not “ready”, these internal narratives become invisible barriers to your potential. Listen as I walk you through the exact process to shift out of shame and into self-respect.By the end of this episode, you'll be able to:Identify stories you've outgrownReplace them with empowering beliefs that move you forwardTake aligned action that proves your new story trueReflect on this:Where am I being held back by an outdated story? What truth have I been ignoring about who I really am?What action could I take today that affirms the story I want to live?To subscribe, comment, or ask a question, visit www.donnyraus.com.
In this Riff, Gino explores a truth we all face: we are either expanding or contracting. Expansion brings learning, progress, and momentum. Contraction, on the other hand, brings discomfort, doubt, and resistance. Each phase plays a role in our growth. Progress rarely moves in a straight line; it comes in cycles.Gino shares his own cycles of Shedding and Shining, reminding us that contraction does not mean we're broken... it means we're about to break through. Whether it's a business hitting a ceiling or an individual wrestling with change, the pattern is the same: expansion, contraction, evolution, revolution. Your job is to stay aware, trust the process, and look for the lesson. Because if you're committed to growth, another expansion is always around the corner. Connection isn't a “nice to have”—it's a business driver every leader needs to put front and center if they want to achieve their goals and succeed. When employees feel seen, heard, and included, performance skyrockets. Yet, many leaders still struggle with creating cultures of belonging. Why is that?In this powerful episode of Shedding the Corporate Bitch, I sit down with Greg Morley, global leader, author of Bond: Belonging and the Keys to Inclusion and Connection, and champion of inclusive leadership. With over 25 years of HR experience at companies like Disney, Hasbro, and LVMH, Greg shares hard-earned lessons and practical tools to help leaders and HR professionals turn inclusion into impact.
To be reborn, we must first let go. Shedding is not loss, but sacred preparation — every death a doorway, every release a renewal. In this episode, Claire reflects on the Magdalene way of surrender: Mary Magdalene's path through exile, loss, and despair into the Radiance of Resurrection. September, a threshold month, invites us to let old skins fall, cleanse with compassion, and prepare the soul for renewal. Through teaching, a guided breath practice, and journaling prompts, you'll be reminded that wholeness is found in surrender — and that letting go is the holy art that makes way for the soul's light to descend. Through her weekly Firefly peer support group, she helps Fireflies at all stages of their journey connect, share, and empower one another.Whether you're coming out later in life, questioning your identity, or looking for a supportive community, Mallory's insights and experiences will resonate deeply.
A compendium of rare cross-cultural and historical accounts of extrasensory perception• Provides accounts of ESP ranging from ancient Greek myth, traditional North and South American, African, and Polynesian stories to individuals like Rumi, Charles Dickens, and Carl Jung• Considers unexplained ESP-related happenings, including bilocation, the ability to locate lost items, early knowledge of one's own death, and perceptions regarding the well-being of loved onesWhether a premonition of an impending event, a warning of potential danger, or an unlikely synchronistic experience, such things are surprisingly common, even if they often cannot be clearly explained.Taking readers on a historical and cross-cultural voyage through extrasensory experiences, Daniel Bourke documents, contextualizes, and sheds light on these mysterious phenomena. From the plains of Peru and the haunted highlands of Scotland to the snowy taiga forests of the Far North and the Indigenous cultures of Australia and America, Bourke examines the strange psychic occurrences that seem to appear in all places, at all times. These include instances of bilocation, premonitions about the coming of visitors, intuitions of the location of lost items or treasures, the discovery of cures by telepathic means, and even accurate pre-perceptions about one's own demise or the perilous situation of a loved one. He looks at the renowned Greek seers, including Iamos, who announced the death of Hercules at the moment it occurred; the far-reaching visions of the shaman in a trance who might warn his tribe of danger; and the witches, wizards, and heroes of legend and romance who were privy to secret knowledge through magical means. Bourke's survey incorporates rare accounts from people all around the world and across the ages, including figures like Rumi, Saint Anthony, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, and Carl Jung.Shedding light on our cultural and mythic past, Bourke shows that wherever you look in the world, whatever culture or time, telepathic tales are unfolding all around us.Daniel Bourke is an author, poet, and songwriter. He has a background in the natural sciences, the arts, and the video game industry. He has previously been published in the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, New Dawn Magazine, and the journal Darklore and is the author of Apparitions at the Moment of Death. YAHWEH'S TOP 4 LIST FOR DESTRUCTION OF AMERICAWe know throughout the Bible that Yahweh has given us instructions on how to live in these flesh bodies. But what happens when we, whether we as individuals or as a nation, fail to follow those guidelines set forth by Yahweh Almighty? We read in Proverbs 6:16-19Pro 6:16 These six things doth Yahweh hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, Pro 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. The seven things Yahweh hates are a catalog of sins summed up in Proverbs 6:16–19. While these aren't the only sins that should be avoided, they do sum up most of the wicked things condemned by Yahweh. The seven things Yahweh hates are the sins that deal with the deep heart motives of the individual. The writer of Proverbs points the finger straight at our hearts and our sinful thought processes. In this study we are going to look at the Top 4 Things that Yahweh Hates. These 4 things WILL DESTROY AMERICA!Idolatry (Divination)Shedding of innocent bloodSodomy (Homosexuality)Unjust weights and measuresIn the Gospel of Matthew 7:12 and 22:36-40, Yahshua Messiah divided all the Laws of Yahweh and the teachings of the Prophets into 2 categories to be obeyed:Love Yahweh with every fiber of your beingLove your neighbor as yourself(For a rundown of these Laws, check out Levit. 19)Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. The Great CommandmentMat 22:34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Mat 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Mat 22:37 Yahshua Messiah said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy Yahweh with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Idolatry (Divination)The question here isn't one of bowing before a statue or stirring a boiling pot, rather it is one of the heart, the soul and the mind. Here are some questions that you need to ask yourself. Is Yahweh alone to be worship and praised for his existence and for our creation? Is Yahweh to be sought directly for guidance and determination of His will? Are Yahweh's Laws to be studied and obeyed?Whose laws are important, Man's of Yahweh'sAre you seeking Yahweh's guidance?Shedding of Innocent BloodLet's turn to Proverbs 6:16-19 Sodomy – HomosexualityLev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Unjust Weights and MeasuresThis is an unfixed monetary system with interest. Unfortunately we are all kind of stuck in this one! However, it doesn't change the fact that this is listed as an abomination to Yahweh.Deut. 25:13; Exod. 22:25Have any questions? Feel free to email me keitner2024@outlook.com

Episode 332 features Kestrel (just me!) in the second-ever solo episode of the show. With a focus on Kestrel's reemergence after having her second child, she shares some of the things that have been on her mind during this postpartum era, the power of sorting, what “release” has meant to her over this last year, what she's shedding and what's she's embracing. It's very personal, raw and vulnerable — one of the ways Kestrel always loves to connect with you all. “Maybe this whole episode is sounding disconnected from what you generally hear in the sustainability and fashion realm. But – if you've been around for a while, you know that I am not exactly the voice of the typical narrative. I like to push beyond binaries. I want to explore the nuances. I don't want to put people, things or ideas into boxes. These in-betweens are where SO MUCH can thrive, if we let it and give it space to breathe.” -Kestrel August THEME — WELCOMING THE IN-BETWEENS IN LIFE, SUSTAINABILITY & FASHION When I started the show back in 2016, I never thought I would be into doing solo episodes. My mind was clear that I wanted to welcome guests onto the show and to really focus on learning, listening and sharing multifaceted ideas from solutionists working at the intersections of fashion and sustainability. And that general intention hasn't wavered. BUT surprisingly, in moments of change or transition, I have felt pulled to connect with you all on my own – just me and my thoughts. It gives me the chance to connect in a really honest, personal, and vulnerable way. It's maybe weird, but I almost feel like having a podcast – a space to dump my thoughts, musings, learnings, challenges – it's really cathartic, and at times, healing as well. Throughout this brief episode, you'll hear: + Welcoming a new baby + Honoring the mothers in Gaza + Postpartum shifts — the importance of sorting, releasing, and closing doors + Creating space — what prioritizing looks like with two kids + Rooting more deeply into my truth — a new endeavor & a book project Links & quotes from the show: Gaza on my mind — IG post by Evelyn Escobar (@evelynnworld) that Kestrel highlights Organizations and resources to support mothers and families in Gaza — The Sameer Project Healing Our Homeland Free Kitchen Gaza We Feed Gaza Heal Palestine Medical Aid For Palestine USA For UNFP Anera “THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. The fact that we can have this space to share openly about so many things that make us human is an absolute blessing. When I initially started this show to simply talk about fashion and sustainability – I never imagined I would learn so much about who I am and who I want to be in the world. Turns out – sustainability starts with each one of us. Looking in the mirror and getting clear about ourselves, tuning into our communities that surround us, leading with curiosity and care, and above all – thoughtfully questioning everything along the way.” Follow Kestrel (Conscious Chatter) on Instagram
In this episode of Critical Magic Theory, Professor Julian Wamble turns his critical gaze toward his own house—Slytherin. Long framed as the villains of the wizarding world, Slytherins are often reduced to ambition gone wrong, but this conversation flips that script. Drawing on survey results and listener insights, Prof. W. interrogates why ambition is so problematized in the Harry Potter narrative and asks: what could Slytherin be if ambition weren't treated as corruption, but as vision and possibility? From the showmanship of the Chamber of Secrets to the overlooked communal nature of Slytherins, the episode challenges assumptions about cunning, ambition, and resourcefulness—traits shared across all Hogwarts houses but condemned only in one. With examples ranging from Draco Malfoy's vanishing cabinet scheme to Dumbledore's manipulations and Fred and George's entrepreneurial empire, Prof. W exposes how ambition is reframed depending on who embodies it.The result is a provocative rethinking of Slytherin as not a house of villains, but a house of transformation, creativity, and possibility—if only Hogwarts had let it be.

We've all been there an hour into a meeting and somehow still debating button alignment. In this episode, we unpack the Bikeshedding Effect, why it derails teams, and how to keep your focus where it matters most. Why do smart teams waste so much time on trivial details while the big, critical decisions gather dust?If you've ever walked out of a meeting wondering how the last hour disappeared into debating something barely worth deciding, you've experienced the Bikeshedding Effect. Also known as the Law of Triviality, this bias pushes teams toward the easy-to-understand, low-stakes topics, while the truly strategic ones get sidelined. In this episode, I share my own war stories from fluorescent-lit conference rooms and design critiques gone off the rails. We look at how Parkinson's satirical observation about bike shed designs still plays out today—in agile ceremonies, leadership meetings, and design reviews. It's not laziness, it's our natural pull toward comfort and away from complexity. You'll learn how to spot the signs, structure meetings to avoid the trap, and shift your team's culture toward tackling the work that actually moves the needle. Whether you're leading a project or just trying to survive another round of pixel debates, this one's for you.Topics:• 01:54 – Personal Anecdote• 03:44 – Understanding the Bike Shedding Effect• 07:02 – Combating the Bike Shedding EffectTo explore more about the Bike-Shedding Effect, don't miss the full article @ cognitioncatalog.com

This book is a sweeping transatlantic history of Puritanism from its emergence out of the religious tumult of Elizabethan England to its founding role in the story of America. Shedding critical new light on the diverse forms of Puritan belief and practice in England, Scotland, and New England, David D. Hall provides a multifaceted account of a cultural movement that judged the Protestant reforms of Elizabeth's reign to be unfinished. Hall's vivid and wide-ranging narrative describes the movement's deeply ambiguous triumph under Oliver Cromwell, its political demise with the Restoration of the English monarchy in 1660, and its perilous migration across the Atlantic to establish a “perfect reformation” in the New World. A breathtaking work of scholarship by an eminent historian, The Puritans: A Transatlantic History (Princeton University Press, 2019) examines the tribulations and doctrinal dilemmas that led to the fragmentation and eventual decline of Puritanism. It presents a compelling portrait of a religious and political movement that was divided virtually from the start. In England, some wanted to dismantle the Church of England entirely and others were more cautious, while Puritans in Scotland were divided between those willing to work with a troublesome king and others insisting on the independence of the state church. This monumental book traces how Puritanism was a catalyst for profound cultural changes in the early modern Atlantic world, opening the door for other dissenter groups such as the Baptists and the Quakers, and leaving its enduring mark on what counted as true religion in America. The Secret Sauce for Shedding Pounds isn't just about diet or workouts—it's your liver. In this episode, Nurse Doza breaks down how your liver impacts fat loss through detox, blood sugar regulation, hormone balance, inflammation reduction, and mindset. If you're stuck in your weight loss journey, your liver may be the key. 5 KEY TAKEAWAYS The liver produces antioxidants like glutathione that directly reduce inflammation and support fat metabolism. Hormone balance—especially estrogen and cortisol regulation—depends on liver health. Blood sugar regulation starts with the liver, which stores and processes glucose after meals. Fat cells become inflamed without proper liver function, leading to leptin resistance and weight gain. Sustainable fat loss requires mindset shifts—and liver support helps you regain control. The author of Hebrews 12 says, "Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” How many of us are slowed down, or never finish the race at all, simply because we need to let go of some extra pounds? What are the weights that God is asking us to let go of? Is it the heavy burden of guilt and shame? Well, take heart, because the bible says there is No Condemnation in Christ Jesus. Everett Whiteside finishes our Summer Shred series by addressing the enemy's garments of lies and giving us steps to shed the straightjacket and clothe ourselves with our heavenly robe of righteousness.
